Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Accomack County

We booked this for 3 nights as a last minute trip with our pup. Everything was great at this very quiet location. The place was clean and there was enough cooking equipment to make breakfast each morning. We chose to stay in Onancock because it’s about halfway between Assateague and Cape Charles, and we wanted to visit both. Onancock is cute, but a bit sleepier than expected during our stay, since most shops are closed Sunday and Monday. Several restaurants were open, though, along with a craft beer bar, Irish pub, and a wine and cheese shop. Only disappointment was that the Charlotte restaurant was not open when we wanted to dine there, although their website said it was open daily. So if that place catches your eye, you might want to call and check their hours. Otherwise, it was easy to walk to town and plenty of cute neighborhoods to walk our dog.

Lovely cottage house in most walkable area of Main Street district! We loved stepping outside and walking to the waterfront park at sunset, strolling the shops, and heading out for ice cream at night. Very clean and bigger space than expected with finished playroom style attic bedroom. The front porch was perfect for morning coffee and just hanging out in the evenings as well. Well stocked kitchen. Overall a terrific place for a relaxing, yet active, family vacation!

what can I say...what an amazing home and community. Wachapreague is the best kept secret on the east coast. So much to do. Fishing kayaking exploring the barrier islands. Great restaurant in walking distance of the house. There's everything you need at the house. Super comfortable and clean. Thank you Brian 😊

We did a job on Wallops Island and George’s place was very close and ideal for me and my 2 guys. There is plenty of space and we were not missing anything. We will soon return.

First of all, this house and the views are STUNNING. This was the first vacation that I have taken with my fiancé and our 2 pups, and we had the best time--it was such a sad day when we had to leave lol. We basically ordered Doordash and Walmart Pickups the entire time we were there and never left the property during our stay. The kitchen was very well stocked with all the cookware you could need, there are kayaks and paddle boards for entertainment, and plenty of floats for relaxing in the bay. There is a little private beach within 1 min walking distance from the house and there is access to the water from the backyard. It had everything we wanted for a relaxing vacation with our pups. I am already working on convincing my fiancé that we need to go back in the near future. 10/10 would recommend.

We truly enjoyed our trip to Hope Haven Cottage. From the initial booking, everything went smoothly. Mildred & Spencer were wonderful, and assisted us in every aspect of our stay. The cottage had everything we needed and more… since Muddy Toes was closed at the time, Mildred & Spencer made sure we were stocked with all the breakfast things we would need. Coffee, half and half, muffins, eggs, all kinds of extra goodies and a welcome basket full of snacks! We loved the bikes for riding around on the island and down to the beach. The golf cart was made available as well, and we enjoyed using it for bringing some extra gear to the beach. They had it all… a beach umbrella, folding chairs, beach towels, paperback books. It was a beautiful stay. The bed was very comfortable and the whole house was charming. The kitchen was fully equipped. We didn’t lack anything at all. Mildred & Spencer communicated well, were flexible & helpful. I wholly recommend this beautiful haven on Tangier.

The perfect location! On Assateague in less than 5 minutes and just over 10 from door to beach. Ice cream, dinner spots, and activities were a short drive and the house’s setting was peaceful. The best of both worlds. The house had everything we needed for making multiple meals at home and the space was perfectly set up for adults and children. Will definitely be back again.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Rick and Christi's Airbnb. The location is perfect for anyone looking to enjoy a peaceful getaway, with direct access to the beautiful sandy beaches of Chesapeake Bay. Whether you’re into water activities, fishing, or just taking quiet walks around the serene neighborhood, this place has it all. One thing to note is that this spot is not for those seeking nearby restaurants or bars because there aren’t any in the vicinity—and that’s exactly what makes it so special. It’s a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle. Our family, including my wife and 14-year-old child, thoroughly enjoyed our time here. But what truly sets this place apart is the warm and friendly hospitality from Christi. She went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. A lovely touch was the fresh jalapeño pepper she gave us, which we’re still using in our meals. Thank you, Christi and Rick, for making our vacation memorable.

Excellent stay. Allen was a pleasure to work with. Always responsive and quick. The place was spotless and had what we needed. The general store front door is adorable. I needed to have a work meeting through zoom while I was there and the internet was strong in the cottage. The town has spotty service. Thank you Allen. We would stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay at Carla & Shannon’s place. Everything was neat and in order. The check in was super easy & flexible. We enjoyed the beautiful sunsets and walked around the town. They’re both very quick to reply back & we had a chance to talk with Shannon in person & she was super sweet.

Kelly's place was immaculate. Kelly went out of her way to help us with all of our things. We had a boat dock. Kelly had everything we needed from water to shore power. This is a one of a kind place to stay, very clean, furnished beautifully and the view is outstanding. Kelly great job all the way around . Thanks for having my fishing team. Thanks Donald

We hit the Airbnb jackpot with this little apartment!! The town was beautiful and so much fun! The decor in this apartment was perfect for the location, we had an amazing stay! The place was very clean and comfy! We highly recommend staying here and would do it again ourselves in a heartbeat!

Our stay at this location was amazing. Very beachy vibes and great location to walk or bike to any place on the island. The home was a perfect fit for myself and my children. Will be booking this place again in the future.

This was our first visit to Chincoteague, and it did not disappoint! The condo looked just like the listing and had beautiful views. It was also conveniently located near shops and restaurants, all well within walking distance. There was a hiccup with the door code when we arrived, but seaside has an after hours phone service that took care of everything. The person I spoke to was so friendly and helpful. We would absolutely stay again next time we’re in Chincoteague and would recommend to friends.

Our first time to Chincoteague Island and it was very beautiful and peaceful! In the off season, it's a great place to go for a relaxing getaway. We rented a Moke and drove around the island including Assateague Island which was lots of fun. The unit had beautiful views of the sunset and was in walking distance to some restaurants and a short drive to other restaurants and shops. The unit was very clean and exactly what the pictures showed.

Seaside made our weekend trip to Chincoteague a breeze! Our unit came prepared with the essentials (tp, paper towels, hand soap, dish soap, koozies) but you should definitely bring shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The view of the lighthouse made us feel like locals. Location was about a 5 minute drive to a grocery store, gas station, and local restaurants and 12-15 minutes from Assateague beach. Only downside- lots of mosquitoes but that’s not their fault. Definitely bring bug spray, but if you want fresh air- they have screened doors and windows.

This is the second time we’ve stayed at Nicole’s place and we loved it. We loved being able to check in at the hotel next door and have access to the hotel amenities with the privacy of our own place. The rental was clean and spacious and the location is perfect. Can’t wait to go back

First of all, this place was spotless. You want great scenery, lots of wildlife, peace and quiet? This is your place. Perfect for a single traveler, couple or small family. Was my first time in Chincoteague and I had a great time. Absolutely loved this stay!
