Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Aberdeenshire

It’s not often that we would revisit a property, but this is definitely one to consider. Yes, it is clean, tidy and well appointed as you would expect. However, words don’t do justice to the sense of calm, the rhythms of the sea, and the incredible amount and diversity of sea bird activity, literally on your doorstep. A definite 10.

Beautifully located house near Aberlour, about 40 minutes walk into the town for the nearest shops and pub so a car is recommended, although the walk is lovely. By car it's 10 minutes to Aberlour along a country lane. House was well equipped, modern, comfortable, clean and had great views of the surrounding farm and countryside. The farm shop was an added bonus with meat from the farm we enjoyed on a BBQ one evening. The host is extremely friendly and responded quickly in our conversations pre arrival. Perfect spot for a family or group of friends exploring Speyside. Thank you!

The house was very well equipped had everything you need. Good location close to Banff and Portsoy. Great space for family/friends gathering.

Aus den Fenstern der umgebauten Kirche schaut man direkt aufs Meer und erlebt herrliche Sonnenuntergänge am Abend. Die Unterkunft liegt perfekt, um mal richtig rauszukommen. Die Wohnung ist gut eingerichtet, uns hat nichts gefehlt. Die Küche ist überdurchschnittlich gut ausgestattet - perfekt für Leute, die gern kochen. In dem Dörfchen wohnen kaum noch Leute, aber die Menschen sind alle sehr zuvorkommend. Auch unsere Gastgeberin war total nett und sie hat uns auf Nachfrage gern mehr zu dieser besonderen Unterkunft erzählt. Gisela hat sehr schnell auf Nachfragen reagiert und stand uns mit Rat und Tat zur Seite. Danke! ☺️

We have stayed at Black Rocks several times and have never been dissapoined. Loren is lovely and very responsive. The village is very welcoming and we would highly recommend the Anchor Hotel for food and local atmosphere. A very special place, just perfect!

I really love this cosy, private and beautiful cottage. I have stayed here a few times now for work and pleasure and it’s an ideal spot for both. I get such good nights’ sleep and the bird song is delightful. Everywhere is so green! The cottage itself has everything you need in it and it’s warm and cosy too. It’s a unique setting with a very special extra, where you can swim in their private pool if you wish. Thank you again for being really friendly and accommodating hosts. I’ll be back ! Or rather we will be- Matilda and Brown dog 😊🐾

Die Wohnung ist zweckmäßig eingerichtet und war sehr sauber. Es war auch sehr ruhig. Anna war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Im Ort gibt es nicht so viel, aber das, was da ist - wir haben das indische Restaurant, den Pub, die Bäckerei und das Café getestet - war alles von guter Qualität.

I have never stayed in such a well organized Airbnb. I mean there were manuals for everything you can possibly have a question about the house, the area and everything in between in well put together binders, labeled, even with indexes. It was really thought out. of course the cottage was immaculate, spotlessly clean and the kitchen was so well put together, you could cook a five course meal in there. All the basics were there, not just in the kitchen but in bathrooms. Bed was super comfy, the views were amazing. I would 100% stay again.

Just spent three glorious nights at Angela’s place in what was probably the best bed I’ve slept on (my own needs to up its game!) I was in Aberdeen for a yoga course, and the flat was the perfect home-from-home to eat, sleep and relax in. It’s super clean, thoughtfully kitted out (including touched like shower gel, bread, milk and cereal). Great location - 15 or so minutes walk to the beach, similar into town - and a super peaceful complex of flats. Friendly, welcoming and helpful hosts. Cannot recommend highly enough.

We stayed at The Grange No 5 for two weeks, and I have nothing but positive things to say. The little space was perfect for everything we needed, and we felt so at home. Everything was neat and tidy, and Shoana was on top of everything we might need. We appreciated the detailed instructions provided, and were so grateful for the quiet retreat. The beach is just a 0.5 mi walk from the house, and all of the attractions we wanted to see were within a 30-40 minute maximum range. Also all the little brochures provided helped us find hidden gems in the area (the Peterhead Prison Museum is a must!). We would 100% stay here again given the chance and highly recommend it!

Clean and well stocked flat that was walking distance to everywhere I wanted to go. Rosella and her husband were warm and welcoming hosts - would absolutely stay here again!

My stay in Aboyne was very enjoyable. The flat was very comfortable & I had everything I needed. I can recommend the accommodation & intend to pay a return visit.

We stayed at the apartment as we were attending a wedding nearby, Catherine was extremely accommodating with check in/out times as we’d travelled a long way for the wedding! The apartment is very spacious and has everything you’d need, location is also very quiet which is nice as there was no noise during the evenings.

Great accommodations! Very clean and looked just like the pictures. Beds were extremely comfortable! Steve was very responsive with clear instructions. Since the location is just over a mile, we were able to easily order cab service to the city centre and train station. Would definitely stay here again!

Cat's place is a peaceful retreat in a working harbour town, ideal for escaping the rat race. Cat has thoughtfully provided pretty much everything you could need for a self catering break. She has always been quick to respond with a full and helpful answer to any enquiries.

Appartamento molto pulito e accogliente. Cucina ben fornita con tutto il necessario. Ottimo per 4 persone. Le foto corrispondono a quanto offerto. Situato in ottima posizione vicino al porto molto caratteristico dove ci sono ristorantini molto molto carini. Dalle finestre si puo ammirare il mare. Magnifica veduta. Parcheggio in strada senza problemi. Abbiamo sempre trovato porto davanti alla porta di ingresso.

Beautiful place to stay, both heather and her husband were very friendly and helpful about the area. Great location not far from the airport and close to the city centre and the coast. I would definitely recommend and will stay again if I return to aberdeen.

Tanto Linda como George fueron excelentes anfitriones. Amables, bien predispuestos, en fin: excelentes. En cuanto a la propiedad es muy cómoda y agradable que aporta muchísima paz a quienes allí se hospedan. Sin dudas volvería a visitarlos!

Very well equipped and comfortable accommodation with everything you need provided. Spacious flat with lots of homely features and plenty of room for our party of adults. Instructions provided were extremely clear and helpful. Great location in the lovely town of Stonehaven. Would recommend staying in Carol & Bobs apartment, we’ll be back!

Angela’s place was really nice and quiet which was fantastic after a few long days. It also had enough space for us to spread out in which was great. Highly recommend if you need somewhere to stay in Aberdeen.

We’ve just returned from a short stay to visit family in Stonehaven. The flat was exactly as described and was beautifully furnished: perfect for a family of four of any age. Jude had left more than the essentials for us, which was really kind and we hugely appreciated it. Definitely recommend.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at 12 Macdonald Road apartment. It was pristine, and spotless. There was nothing lacking, and everything was like brand new. The linen was such fantastic quality too, mind you everything was. I can’t recommend the apartment enough. Paul the host is really quick to respond too, we really appreciated that. We will definitely be back.
