Beautiful place to stay!! My family and I had a wedding to attend in Herrin Illinois and Pats place was in a great location for our needs. Pat was an awesome host, I could tell if anything was needed or a problem arose, she would be able to help you through it. Super dog friendly as well. Would stay again!! Great weekend getaway spot!!

Southern hospitality at its finest. The kindness of an early check-in due to our funeral arrangements and the offer of a later check-out, was appreciated. Special touches to welcome our dog (toy & treats) and us (waters, ice, coffee, breakfast snacks), made this sad occasion more pleasant. When the storm came and took down part of a backyard tree, taking out fence and patio set, somehow they had it all cleaned up the next day. Fence repaired and new patio set replaced! Don’t know how they did it so quickly. We felt that our happiness was their top priority. Comfy bed and plenty of hot water for the shower was just what we needed. We felt at home. Thanks Tracy and Kent for doing a great job.

We loved this cabin like home, nestled in a bamboo forest on a quiet lane! We felt it was very convenient to Carbondale, Marion and Makanda. About 15 minutes to each location - we loved all of the restaurants in Marion’s town Square - so many to choose from. Thanks Sarah for hosting us.

HIGHLY recommended! AMAZING hose, vintage decor, everything is just so beautiful, to the last detail. we had a wonderful time, beds were comfortable, a lot of space, equipped kitchen, nice playground for the kids, couldn't ask for a better place to stay.

The screened porch made our experience really nice. I was with my 3 year old granddaughter who is very allergic to mosquitos. It was just perfect that she could play outside with no worries.

For our stay, we were going through a time of great loss, and all the inspirational plaque and pictures were such a blessing, so uplifting in a time of need it was like God had put it there just for us.

Kelley's place fit our needs quite well. she made it very easy to communicate questions, better than most hosts we've encountered. the only drawback to the location are the highway sounds which are close by, however the house itself sits in a really nice piece of property with old growth trees and big yards. the kitchen had a lot of great equipment and since we cooked a lot while there, this came in very handy. one positive about being close to the highway though was access to it and a quick time to where we needed to go. we encourage others to book her place since it has lots of space!

This house is amazing. Breakfast while overlooking the horse pasture, dinner out on the back deck. Everything in the house was spotless! The shower was so great. It had good water pressure! The beds were so comfy, I got the best sleep here. Better than I've gotten in a long time! The pool was clean. My kids enjoyed it, even though it was chilly out! They also enjoyed the games in the garage. My kids loved the popcorn machine, what a fun touch! The location is perfect. It's out in the country, but close enough to other towns that a run to the store doesn't take all day. It's very close to several Rend Lake Day Use Areas, which makes going out fun and easy! 10/10 Will stay again.

The pool alone is worth booking this stay! Absolutely beautiful pool and hot tub, overall very private (just share with homeowners which was no problem), clean, peaceful - feels like a tropical destination in IL!! However, the path (basically a hill) to the pool from the camper is hard to navigate. The camper is more of a camping experience and was difficult for my very tall husband. Bed was too small for him. The kids and I (short wife) had a blast though. Just bring bug spray - there are tics!

Loved staying at this location. So close to restaurants and shops and outdoor adventures. Very quiet. Amazing views of stars. Plenty of sleeping spaces. Very responsive and helpful host!

I decided last minute to see the 2024 eclipse in 100% totality. I drove all the way from Colorado to Marion, IL. All hotels were booked & really expensive. Then I saw Cassie's camping spot. I'm a solo female traveler with a dog & not much of a Camper so I was a little nervous, but this location was so easy to find, and felt very safe. Cassie even provided hotdogs and marshmallows for everyone. This was the perfect location to see the 2024 eclipse in 100% totality. I'll remember this always!

This quaint and cozy place was a perfect stay for our road trip. The patio was a great spot to enjoy dinner! The weather wasn’t the best but we made the best of it and did enjoy the pool for a bit.

We chose to take this trip for our daughters birthday weekend a perfect setting to get away and have the option to camp, fish, swim and able to relax around a peaceful fire while eating smores. The camper had everything we needed very nice and spacious. The beds were very comfy. The area was nice and quiet. We caught fish from the dock. The family was welcoming to the pool area. And cant forget the friendly Pugley. He was for sure a bonus he loves to play fetch.

Our stay was amazing. Our host were super accommodating of some special requests we had. The pool house was just we needed to make our two night stay the most memorable for our family.

We stayed at Cassi’s for the 2024 eclipse. The location was so peaceful. We brought our 32’ camper and she said “go anywhere in the back” so we set up in view of the pond. There were 8 others guests in tents. They were all so friendly. The kids loved playing with the dogs and kept talking about Aero and Zep all day after left. (I just realized that those dogs are probably named after Aerosmith and Led Zeppelin) Next time there’s an eclipse that cuts across Cassi’s yard you should definitely stay here! Or if you just want a nice place that’s not far from home.

Our time at Allison’s place was wonderful! It was the perfect bachelorette trip location, a comfortable home, and the perfect set up for us. We’d love to be back!

This place was fantastic! It had everything we needed. Beautiful surroundings - we felt like we were on a retreat. And yet we were just 30 min from Carbondale where our daughter was graduating from SIU. Hoping to stay here again later in the summer.

Rebecca was an amazing host to work with! She was very accommodating and responded promptly to all messages! The property was cozy and had enough space for everyone. The sunsets were beautiful!!!

Excellent location, we were in town for a fishing tournament at the marina across the street. House was clean and plenty of parking.

This home was perfect for our stay. Very clean and comfortable for us and the private fenced back yard was perfect for our dog. We would book again if we were in the area .

We enjoyed our family vacation with the ability to dock our rented pontoon, relax on the deck cooking dinner after a long day on the water. the kids loved the bunkhouse, able to see wildlife straight from their bedroom window. This is a beautiful lake and so much hiking all around the area. Great spot for a family vacation with kids.
