Great private location, a few miles from Whitby and at the doorstep of the North York Moors. Diana was responsive, attentive and an all around perfect host! Would definitely stay again!

We booked with Sara & Tom on a whim for a nearby Sunrise Solstice Swim, and from the moment we arrived, everything felt five-star. As soon as we pulled into the driveway, they greeted us so warmly and welcomed us into what truly felt like a little oasis. After our swim, breakfast was beautifully and perfectly timed. I barely touched my phone during our stay — the whole experience felt like a peaceful retreat, with just a hint of Downton Abbey charm. My favourite moment? Seeing Tom in his pink apron, playing the perfect host. It honestly felt like we had our very own butler at The Little Abode. I only wish we could’ve stayed longer. Thank you for the best stay ever!!

Lovely and clean and very welcoming. It wasn't noisy on a night time, and the beds were really comfy. Everything available what you would need for an overnight stay. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be coming back.

Would give the cottage and Kitty, our host, a million stars if we could! From the beautiful landscape to the cozy cottage, we loved every minute of our stay. Kitty recommended lots of great restaurants and shops in nearby villages which we enjoyed checking out. Their are walking trails right off the property. We spotted all kinds of birds, deer, and loved the horses and cows nearby. The cottage is decorated so lovely and having a fire in the evening was such a comfort. It's very clean and supplied well with kitchen utensils, coffee, etc. We were genuinely sad to leave! We hope to be back soon, if Kitty will have us! Can't recommend a stay here enough, you will have a wonderful time!

It was a lovely place to stay. Very peaceful and had very nice scenery. It was very clean and was welcoming. There was an option of tea and coffee, milk in the fridge and little snacks which is helpful if you have only come for one night. Had a good option of takeouts near by. It was private and out of the way which was nice. It was well worth the money and is a lovely place to stay for a long weekend. Would definitely stay again😊

Lovely hosts, great communication and fab house which looked exactly like the pictures, clean, spacious and very comfortable! We were 5 adults and 2 4yr olds, ample space for all of us. I’ll definitely be back when I’m next in the area. Thanks so much.

This was our second stay and we’ve already booked to go back a 3rd time. Fantastic peaceful getaway, and we were blessed with amazing weather too - so were able to make good use of the outside terrace to sit and enjoy drinks, dinner and morning coffee!

A perfect stay. Place is absolutely immaculate, beautifully decorated and presented. Lovely host. Would recommend and stay again. The photos looked great but it was even nicer once there. Great little kitchen with a helpful range of utensils. Well thought of. Great location to York and beautiful villages and surroundings. Great for exploring the Howardian hills. What a little Gem in this unusual pretty Village. The accommodation was so comfortable with everything you needed. The hosts were so welcoming and we felt very much at home. Great location and would highly recommend.

Very warm, comfortable and quiet room, with thoughtful touches. Excellent kitchen facilities and dining room, all immaculately clean.

We had a great stay at Georgia's place. The location is ideal - walkable from the train station, walls, river, shambles, Minster. The sitting room is lovely with access to a back patio. Stairs are mildly steep for elderly guests, but there is a handrail. Overall, fantastic and recommend!!

Graeme and Helen’s place is a wonderful place to stay. We stayed for a couple of nights with our dog and it was perfect. Lovely area for our dog to safely roam around and a massive paddock area also available to us. The place is spacious and well laid out and has everything you need with additional goodies thrown in. We didn’t use the hot tub but it looked lovely and sure would be a lovely place to be in an evening. Would recommend for anyone to stay and we will look to come back again!

We booked this for a 3 generation family Wedding in Scarborough. Lots of bedrooms meant we could all stay together rather than being scattered all over. Each bedroom all had a private bathroom which was a bonus. Initially we were concerned about the parking as we were arriving in 5 cars and all the streets are disk zoned, we needn’t have worried, there was plenty of space and our host gave us ample permits. We stayed in April so not sure if it’d be the same in the summer holidays. The lounge and dining areas were good sized for us all. Our host was friendly, helpful and flexible, making our stay great. If I had any criticism, we could have used more cutlery, not a huge problem to us as we were only there a couple of days and tended to eat out. Should we all decend on Scarborough together in the future we would definitely stay there again. I would recommend this house for a large group for sure.

Host is absolutely lovely and so helpful and kind. House location is easy peasy to get to by car, parking available on quiet road, no need to drive into town, unless you really want to. No noise from road. Lovely short walk (15/20 minutes for me) to the centre of town along the river (or the main road, which is not so nice but you do pass shops, restaurants and pubs along the way). Sainsbury's local at the end of the road and down a bit, 5 minute walk if that and if you walk along the river when you pop out on the main road Sainsbury's is on your right literally on your way back to your room. Room is spacious, shower is great, loads of towels, even get dressing gowns and blankets if you want to snuggle, which we didn't as we were blessed with the weather. Again host is the best. Due to a slight issue on leaving, he was so accommodating, he restored my faith in humanity. Highly recommend and I would be happy to stay again.

We really enjoyed our stay. It's very accessible from the station and a lovely walk via the museum gardens into town. Little notes and instructions are located on all the important things in the flat which is super useful! It was a great little place for us to use as our base during our weekend trip to York. Host was very proactive and helpful too. There isn't parking for this property, but it is about 10-15 minutes walk from the NCP car park at the station (or there are other slightly more expensive car parks much closer), so this wasn't a major problem!

Hot tub is great after a day on your feet, kitchen is perfect and whole place is ideal for 4 people for a break. Nice and quiet area near to york. Recommendation for Oddfellows arms is really good, cracking local pub. Everything was easy from check in leaving. Thanks
