My family and I loved our stay at Sherilynn’s cabin! The cabin has everything you could want and then some! It had plenty of space and everyone appreciated not having to share bedrooms or fight over bathrooms. We really enjoyed eating on the screened in porch, playing in the creek (We watched a snake eat a fish one night) and both fire pits. The cabin is a perfect base camp for adventures in Shenandoah National Park too. Sherilynn was very responsive and answered all our questions. We would definitely stay there again!

My family and I loved this air bnb! It was private, clean and had everything that we needed. Loved the fire pit and the hot tub, beds were comfy and towels were soft. Great communication with the owners. If you are looking for a nice get away with lots of privacy and to be able to relax this place is it! If we are ever in the area again would love to stay in this beautiful cabin in the woods.

We had a lovely stay at this cabin in the woods. Standing at the center of the cabin, you end up surrounded by nature as you are able to look through all the windows and the sky light at the beautiful greenery. It was a sweet sanctuary from the city. I appreciated every detail that enhanced my relaxation and comfort at this cabin from the many amenities to the decor. It’s a perfect escape.

We were looking for a cabin, hoping to find a quiet place to rest, relax and recharge in nature. We never dreamed that we would find an authentic 18th century cabin located in the forest on a mountain top - with an excellent view of the surrounding mountains. The inside of the cabin was beautifully furnished as would be expected in colonial Virginia. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend the experience of stepping back in time.

This is our second property stay from this host group. We have enjoyed both mountain top locations and truly felt like we could disconnect, relax, and have a few small adventures with our pup. Truly Amazing Views!!!! Clean neutral colors and updated amenities. Easy to find things to cook with. **Also- Shout out to The Italian Job Pizza spot. We had crazy rain which delayed our getting to the house from DC, so we shifted from cooking to ordering in and they delivered!!!!!

The cabin was clean, comfortable and full of amenities. A mix of rustic charm and hi-tech appliances. We made good use of the reclining couch, the rockers on the front porch, the hot tub and fire pit. There are plenty of fish in the pond and lots of rabbits hopping around! What more could you want? The road was quiet and perfect to take walks along the water. We came for the hiking and the cabin was a short drive to lots of options. Spend your time on the trails and not driving. It is obvious the hosts put a great deal of time and thought into preparing the cabin for guests. I expect to return to the area for more hiking and will definitely stay at this cabin again.

this place was great, bigger and comfier than the photos looked, even had a garage for drying out our wet backpacking gear, the yard was enormous and the river was beautiful!

I stayed in the cabin on the river, I must say it was probably the best few days I’ve ever had. Such a beautiful and peaceful set up, not to mention the farm as a whole was amazing. I will definitely be back!

My husband and I had a great time at Tracy’s cabin! The cabin had all of the amenities listed in the description plus some extras and was more accommodating than I expected. The area is private and quiet. If you are someone who isn’t comfortable with using water sparingly for dishes/bagged showers, consider bringing extra. The cabin had about 12 gallons available and we used a little more over 4 days. Be advised that this cabin is deep into the mountains, we lost service about an hour away. I recommend saving the address of places/trails you’d like to visit and using your vehicle’s GPS. The area is beautiful and we enjoyed unplugging for a few days. Highly recommend!

We stayed here for a wedding in Charlottesville and, while the cabin was a bit out of the way from where most guests were staying in town, it ended up being the best decision we made. Our group was too large for hotel rooms, and this cabin gave us the perfect place to spread out and relax. We honestly wished we had more time to enjoy the space itself—it's ideal for a peaceful getaway weekend. Unfortunately, wedding events kept us running around, but we could easily see ourselves coming back just to unwind and take it all in. The property offers plenty to do, and the atmosphere is cozy and inviting. A couple of small suggestions that would’ve helped us (specifically as guests getting ready for a wedding): a full-length mirror in the downstairs bathroom and some brighter lighting in the bathrooms for hair and makeup. That said, these things wouldn’t be an issue for a regular weekend trip. Overall, a charming cabin that we hope to return to when we can truly enjoy it!

This place was gorgeous! Waking up and having coffee while watching the horses was a dream. Very close to Shenandoah and several other activities. Highly recommend this home away from home!

Very much enjoyed a short but sweet stay in this cabin! Appreciated the little touches including both fireplaces being set up for use upon arrival & maps of the area being laid out on the kitchen island. This quiet, pet-friendly Airbnb was a great escape for the weekend. Thank you for having us 🙂

Darryl's home is beautiful! The house is tastefully decorated, peaceful, and comfortable. The beds were a dream to sleep on- thick memory foam and soft. We had some pretty major hiccups with our travel plans, which were completely unrelated and not the fault of the host, and yet Darryl went above and beyond accommodating us and taking some of the stress out of our travels. This really goes a long way when staying at an Airbnb when traveling can be so unpredictable! Check-in and check-out were a breeze- no convoluted instructions, and the guestbook was full of helpful suggestions and tips for the area. We travel every few years to visit family in the area and would absolutely stay here again. At the risk of sounding like an infomercial, book this home- you won't regret it!

We spent our 1st wedding anniversary here at this beautiful cabin. We loved waking up to the picture views of the mountains. We spent our days hiking. Our evenings reading in front of the patio doors watching the sun go down and evening mist rise. It was truly magical, cozy, clean and made us want to invest in our own little cabin in the woods.

This property is GORGEOUS!! The cabin is beautiful and well-appointed. The view off the porch is INCREDIBLE! Plan to spend lots of time just staring at the beautiful mountains. Be sure to treat yourself to April's delicious cinnamon rolls...and any other of her delicious baked goods. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful and unique property near one of the best vacation spots in Virginia.

This place was as advertised and a perfect peaceful getaway with cows within yards of the cabin. Wil was also a very gracious host and made our stay well worth it.

Absolutely gorgeous farm property. Perfect for a tech free getaway. This was our favorite bnb of our entire roadtrip. Fantastic views of the stars. Loved waking up to ducks quacking outside our window and roosters letting you know they are there. The log cabin is very small and quaint but cozy. Ray and rosemary were extremely friendly. Would recommend this spot to everyone. Very little service in the area but we didnt even notice looking at everything going on at the beautiful property. Will be returning just for this canin!

10/10 location. my wife and I wanted a scenic spot to stay at for our SNP excursion and this cabin was a wonderful experience. It is modern, clean, private, and the host was very thoughtful. All of our needs were met and we'll definitely be back when we visit Shenandoah again.

The isolation and peacefulness of Shepherd’s Cottage was just what we needed after long days of hiking in Shenandoah. The cabin is rustic and feels like it’s in the middle of nowhere on its own hill - as long as you go prepared for this type of property, it will be a wonderful experience. I loved waking up to the beautiful nature views and being able to fully disconnect up there. You’ll leave refreshed and destressed!
