This place was awesome! Super nice rooms and it was super cosy. We opted for the private spa and it lived up to the expectations!! Would recommend.

What a fantastic place! Heaps of room, warm, homely and private. Hard to describe how much of a gem this place it. I just hope I can get back for a couple of days in the near future.

Lovely location. The house is lovely. It doesn’t have a washer and dryer but you can pay for one that is available to others. Would be nice if they gave you a voucher for use as you are paying a premium for staying at the house. Other than that, would recommend to others to stay here.

Fantastic cozy retreat cabin for group of 10 in Franz Josef, only a 3 minute drive from town center, very clean and fantastic amenities with a great hot tub. Electricity went out in the middle of the night, but was understandable as there was a huge storm. Highly recommend.

An absolutely incredible place to stay. It was so peaceful, we loved the feel of the place and Kath was an amazing host. The attention to detail was amazing, everything was beautiful, we loved the fire and the candle-lit evenings. Can’t recommend staying here enough!

Gibbs’ guesthouse is absolute perfection. From the incredible vistas, to the outdoor bath (!!), fireplace, and sumptuous linens, it is a gem and one we will long remember. We had the pleasure of staying here for three nights in mid-June. We were lucky for incredible weather for the most (morning frosts, crisp, sunny days, and cosy, clear nights against a backdrop of incredible stars); using that to our advantage, we flew up to the glacier for a morning on the ice, and used the guesthouse as a fabulous base for other hikes around the area. For one of the days, we were cosy inside with the fire burning and playing many of the games in the cupboards. Perfect relaxation! The guesthouse is appointed beautifully, and Sarah (our host) very responsive and warm in her communication. It’s very easy to find, and just far enough out of town to be very quiet and relaxing. Do yourselves a favour, and book a stay here. You’ll not regret it!

A quaint little place with so much charm! The space had plenty of amenities — the kitchen was well-equipped, and we were able to cook our own dinner comfortably. The host was very friendly and welcoming. We especially loved stargazing at night, managed to capture some beautiful photos! The bathroom and bed were both clean and comfortable. Overall, we had a very relaxing and peaceful stay. Would definitely recommend.

A very beautiful family owned the motel. A great place to stay if you’re visiting Fox glacier. It has everything you would need from stove to microwave to oven. There are a couple restaurants in town and some convenience stores but do keep in mind, some of the stores close very early.

I would 1000% stay here again. LOVED IT, the place is beautiful and the views are outstanding. I go the pleasure to meet Judy and her kids, super nice peeps. I didn't want to leave this place but I had to continue on my adventure. I highly recommend if you are a solo traveler or with a partner to stay in this beautiful place. One of our favourite Airbnbs during our road trip around the South Island. It was cosy, it was quiet, it was close enough to town and not to far from some great walks. The hot tub was such a bonus and had views of the mountain, as long as it wasn’t too cloudy. We’re glad we stayed 2 nights.

It was a great place to stay at. Right in the midst of the rainforest, with a private hot tub and sauna to our unit. Private and peaceful, yet close to everything out there. Property has everything you need and it felt cosy, luxurious and clean! Love it!
