My partner and I enjoyed our time here! It was clean and serene. The interior has a modern look; the exterior offers a lovely garden surrounding the wrap-around porch. The streets around the building are a bit loud at night (cars)— Pat provided a noise machine for this presumably. I recommend closing the windows and using AC for other light sleepers like me. Did the trick! Anyhoo, we liked this stay a lot— enough to come back someday! Fair price for the space, and not too far from Yosemite’s west entrance. In addition, Pat is exceptionally friendly and timely. Anyone choosing to rent this place will feel right as home, just as we did!

My partner and I stayed here while exploring Yosemite. It was a peaceful nest to return to, about a 30 min drive from the valley. The bed was comfortable, and we made good use of the DVD player in the evenings.

Kamala’s place was a perfect base camp for my weekend fishing trip. The location was great: easy walking distance to restaurants, groceries, and other services. If you need a lot of luxuries or blazing fast WiFi maybe this isn’t your place, but if you’re looking for peace and quiet in the forest, than I highly recommend this place. What set the experience apart for me was the Sarah’s proactive communication and responsiveness.

This is what serenity in the mountains is all about. Spectacular views, cozy, well appointed and genuinely nice people. I highly recommend.

The place was exactly what we were hoping for: personality, comfort, cleanliness. The owners were very responsive and friendly. Would have loved to stay longer!

Great guest house. Plenty of room in all of the rooms. Large comfortable bed. Radiant floor heating in the kitchen and bathroom was great. Would definitely recommend.

This was a perfect escape for us into the big trees area in California! Rachel‘s place was exactly as pictured and felt cozy and welcoming. We showed up very late at night and struggled with finding the driveway, but most people show up earlier than us! The little cabin included lots of nice touches like board games, books, a puzzle, some cards, details on things to do in the area, and brand new high-speed Internet. We hope to visit again next time we are in California.

We had a wonderful time under the circumstances of losing the matriarch of our family. Mae’s place was a safe Haven for us to sit on the patio, sharing memories, and celebrating a wonderful life. Thank you for giving us such a wonderful space and for being so empathetic to what we were going through. I now know Airbnb is a way to connect with other humans and to expand our capacity for empathy. Thank you for all your understanding Mae. Absolutely wonderful place to stay.

We loved our stay at the Timberwood Cottage! The home felt incredibly spacious and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Our 10 year old absolutely loved the loft space, and my husband and I slept great on the comfortable King bed. You can feel the attention to detail Brittan put into the space to make it a peaceful retreat. It was a special treat to sit out on the patio, enjoying the firepit and watching the deer stroll through the yard in the evening.

The stay offered everything we needed. We were glad to have all of the luxury accommodations while being in such a remote and wilderness area. Pretty cool find! It’s like having the best of both worlds.

From the moment we arrived at Whitto Mine Retreat, we were enchanted by the peaceful country setting along scenic Whitto Mine Road. Tucked away yet comfortably close to Sonora (about a 10–15 minute drive), the property felt like our own private haven. Cleanliness & Comfort: The guesthouse was immaculate—spotless floors, crisp linens, and a kitchen stocked with essentials. The queen bed was incredibly comfy, and the living area felt warm and welcoming after a day of exploring. One thing to note is the narrow, gravel approach road—it’s manageable but worth reading the host’s directions ahead of time. Also, cell reception is spotty (verizon was okay; AT&T didn’t work), but Wi‑Fi was consistent. Overall: Whitto Mine Retreat is a true gem—a clean, comfy, and peaceful guesthouse tucked in the foothills near Sonora. Ideal for couples or small families seeking a bit of rural charm with modern comfort and close proximity to downtown shops, Columbia Historic Park, and Yosemite (just ~90 min).

It was amazing place, super clean, supper scenic and private area, close to everything,i would highly recomend this place to those who want to explore Yosemite valley and especially Hetch Hetchy its wonderfull scenic and adventurous drive and the 5 mile one way hike to Wapama fall is worthfull.

What a beautiful spot! The many thoughtful details are too long to list. The stairs down that descend down to the river have multiple places to sit and lounge so you can really enjoy the sounds of the forest and the river. The outdoor shower and cooking area worked great. Their guest book has great information on things to do in the area. We would definitely stay again!
