The Doe Branch Cabin - Modern Mountain Retreat

Sense of Place. That is the inspiration here, at least in part. The cabin is situated on 12 private acres in a remote corner of Madison County, surrounded by national forest, streams, and clear mountain air. The property has a history of artist residents, and we encourage creatives of all types to come seek the inspiration found by those that came before. The town of Marshall, an artistic enclave, is 25-30 minutes away, and downtown Asheville is a 45-50 minute drive. Hiking and rafting nearby.

Custom built with plant and farm lovers in mind, with greenhouses full of amazing plants to explore. You can visit our farm during your stay to meet our livestock too. Located on 60 acres of wooded land only minutes from the Appalachian Trail. It’s in a spectacular and unique location with easy road access and Hot Tub too.

Enjoy a quiet private getaway on a small family farm in the Mountains of Western North Carolina. The entire house is yours to enjoy! This oversized 1 bedroom, 2 bath home has 1 King bed, 1 queen sleeper sofa, and 1 full sleeper sofa. Lovely porch to enjoy your morning coffee while listening to the creek. This cabin was constructed by hand in 2019 and is designed with both style and calm in mind. It is a perfect place for artists and writers to find inspiration or for guests who want to connect to nature by simply waking up with the trees. The cabin partly functions as an informal artist residency space for our friends and comrades and guest who stay will find it more as a home environment instead of a hotel. Come expecting simplicity and refreshing stay in the wooded landscape of WNC.

Wilderness Lodge - Private Oasis on 200 acres

This modern log home is the perfect getaway if you are looking for peace, quiet, and crystal clear star gazing! Located on 200 private acres, Wilderness Lodge is a private, remote, and cozy retreat. During your stay you will be the only renters - feel free to use the (new in 2023!) hot tub, lounge on the deck near the stream, or explore the property. The kitchen comes fully equipped and the house has laundry machines on the main floor. There is a small general store minutes away.

Snowbird treehouse

A 10ftx10ft treehouse built around a hickory tree with a wood deck. It looks over a creek 30 feet below. There are electric switches/outlets and fan/oil heater. Climb a ladder to the sleeping loft with a standard full size bed. The loft has a peak high enough to stand up under. Cook outside on gas grill. No running water but there's a drinking water dispenser. The bathroom is a composting toilet and outdoor shower with solar tank at the end of a 25ft path, adjacent to the treehouse.

The Martingale at Max Patch, Mountain Springtime

2 Beds, 1 Sleeper Sofa, 2 Full Baths. A perfect mountain escape, just at the gates of Heaven. This open loft cabin sets just 4 miles from Max Patch Bald, aka Heaven. Hike the AT, visit the Bald for a picnic and unbeatable views, and make yourselves comfortable in this lovely little pond-side hideaway. Rosetree Retreat Cabin

This cabin is just below Max Patch...a high altitude bald with the best 360 degree views in WNC. This 2 bedroom, 1 bath cabin is a modern take on the theme with neat and tidy interior, modern decor, and a large back deck. Very Private and quiet location meant for R&R not parties. 16 acres of wooded forest make the rest of the property. Add in the FirePit and Milky Way and you have a great stay just waiting for you.

Fox Den - A Quaint & Private Mountain Escape

Fox Den is located on a private mountain property called Fern Rock. It has a fire pit, hot tub, spring fed pond, and covered porch with a grill. It is 390 sq ft, has one queen bed, a kitchen/living area, and a futon suitable for children. Important: Wi-Fi is now available. AWD / 4WD is required Fawn Hideaway, a one room cottage next to the Fox Cabin is NOT for rent or included in this listing.
