One of the most beautiful places I've ever been to. Follow Mario's advice and you will have an amazing time (ask if you can use the kayak!) Mario's son learned me a lot about music, and Mario himself made some fantastic breakfast, lunch and dinner. Thanks for everything, and hopefully we will meet again.

What a wonderful stay we had at Maria's! She literally welcomed us with open arms with a delicious lunch on her balcony with a beautiful view over the garden and the beautiful green hills. On the same balcony, we enjoyed an extensive and lovingly prepared breakfast every morning. The place is really great and especially the garden, which is like a paradise, full of fruit trees, olives, grapes, vegetables, herbs and other plants and flowers. There are nice seats everywhere to enjoy the wonderful garden with the beautiful view. And then Maria, a rare sweet, warm and caring woman. Everything she does feels sincere and straight from the heart. She was almost like a mother to us and like a grandmother to our daughter. It was not easy to say goodbye after 6 days, but we take the best memories with us. Thank you very much dear Maria!

This was a magical week spent at Luis’s apartment. We attribute so much of our enjoyment to his engagement with us from the start to even after our stay, making sure we arrived at our following destination. Luis loves his city as evidenced by his passion and knowledge for its history, cuisine, local Toro wine and every detail and event of Semana Santa. Luis and Miriam helped us navigate the city for the week’s events guiding us to the best locations for observing the processions and the best places to enjoy the food and wine of this beautiful city. His apartment is spotless, well equipped and mattresses are very comfortable. The location is superb, close to the historic center and paths along the river. A Birder’s delight crossing the bridge to the river bank path! We have traveled the globe and with over 60 stays in Airbnbs and never has a host spent so much time and effort ensuring our stay and experience was TOP. Luis went above and beyond! MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Jose’s place, (Pedro is the Son of), has a lovely home in a quiet friendly village. The home was relatively easy to find, (could do with an Airbnb sign on the corner of the property, to help weary travellers). Once arrived and settled in, Jose is a BRILLIANT host, so welcoming, so generous and the home is comfortable and quiet. We enjoyed a meal in a neighbouring town, that Jose, happily booked for us, but there is all the available gear to cook for yourself. The area is close to the Duoro river, and Jose gives so many options for activities for this area. He is very passionate about the history and his town. We would recommend this home to anyone who is in the area.

I was there for the 2nd time . It was good again!

We were very comfortable four days in the nidito and that we are four people with the girls. We liked the area a lot and Fermoselle has a very good location to know everything, in addition to the fact that the village is beautiful. The particular place has everything you need and is very well equipped in general, has toaster, coffee maker, kettle, sandwich and even dishwasher. In addition to the details Eva leaves, which makes a very nice stay and the fireplace is very cozy.

A very special and place. Everything has been thought of and a unique, historically beautiful village to stay in. The house and the garden very comfortable. Contact with André super, very helpful and fast. Slept well and all the details have been thought of. You won't be short of anything.

Picote is a peaceful village where it's good to rest and for that the Casa Da Penha was perfect for us. A stone interior, tastefully renovated and has retained the character of the old with its fireplace and old stable. The small outdoor courtyard is also very nice. You can walk around the village and reach the beautiful viewpoint of the Douro in 5 minutes. A big thank you to our host for a great stay full of beautiful memories.
