Holiday rentals in Tocane-Saint-Apre

The most perfect hosts that any visitors could possibly imagine actually exist. When we arrived we found that a new dishwasher had been installed and ready to use (further to the hosts reading, and acting upon customer feedback). They take the whole experience (that they are offering) very seriously and professionally, whilst at the same time, remaining full of sincere happiness, cheerfulness, and warmth. An enormously satisfying and enriching trip.

An incredibly beautiful, ancient & peaceful place to stay. The house itself has lots of space as well as the grounds- swings under the trees and a slide. Huge pool and stunning views onto fields and house. Our 4 children- ages 1, 3, 5 & 7 had the best of holidays, so much to do, even we managed to relax in peace- which is saying something! The local village of Tocane is heavenly, great little bars for coffee, delicious lunches. The patisserie (Intermarche end) is outstanding- daily visits a necessity. We spent the mornings swimming in local rivers, lots within 10-30 mins drive away- perfect for children, little beach areas with white sand, slides/ diving boards, canoeing at Brantome. Local markets with delicious produce for barbecuing every day. James who lives on site was so helpful, and always available for help. The house is very old, had great supply of hot water and odd quirks as to be expected with a 15 century manoir! Thank you Ulf for having us to stay!

The accommodation meets our expectations: quiet, comfortable, well laid out, no neighbors opposite, shops nearby (bakery, grocery store, butcher, bar and press.) We were lulled by the singing, the flight of swallows, martinets and turtledoves. We recharged in your home.

We were warmly welcomed by Caroline, she was attentive to our well-being and comfort throughout the week. When we arrived, we found something to “eat and drink” which made it very easy for us to start our stay. The level of equipment is higher than what is advertised: large bath towels + fluffy pool towels, coffee pods, full breakfast, herbal teas and tea, comfortable garden and rest furniture, large private garden. To watch the Olympics, the big screen was perfect! The pool area is particularly nice and well done, the layout is very relaxing. The spaces for the different homes are distinct and allow everyone's privacy. We leave with fond memories of each place we enjoyed at Caroline's

A quiet little corner, quiet assured, in a pretty rustic house, shade all day for warm days and a large private pool! We had a nice week, quiet rest, walks and visits are not lacking in the area! Thank you Karen

An extraordinary welcome by Tony and Liz, as discreet as they are accommodating. Living on site, but perfectly discreet, they were able to answer our questions with remarkable kindness and understanding. I totally recommend them. The property is very beautiful, the pool is very well secured, as is the garden (we had with us half a dozen small children who could not swim and were very inventive!). Admittedly, some rooms upstairs are a little hot at night in the event of a heat wave (the weather was scorching at the beginning of the stay), but almost all windows are equipped with mosquito nets and our hosts installed two fans per room, as well as in the living rooms. Near the cottage, Fayolle Castle has just opened its doors to the public and is worth a visit. Walking is possible to the west and south (the D103 road, on the other hand, is a little dangerous with children, as it is frequented by trucks).

We had a wonderful stay as a family with two small children. The house is absolutely beautiful, very tastefully decorated, and extremely well-equipped - especially the kitchen, which had everything we needed. The garden and the surrounding area are stunning and perfect for relaxing or letting the kids play. The location is excellent, close to many great sights in the Dordogne, including the famous Lascaux caves. Périgueux is just a short drive away and offers a lovely market and all the stores you might need. Catherine and Maxence were incredibly kind and helpful, offering perfect tips on what to do and where to eat in the area. The only small disappointment was that the pool wasn't working during our stay - this would have made our experience even more amazing. Still, we can absolutely recommend this place!

Great. Listing as described. Bine equipped, very clean. The instructions were clear. The accessibility allowed by the lockbox at any time is very convenient.
