Family-friendly holiday rentals in Tilbury

We had a wonderful Christmas week at Flagpole Cottage. The hosts' home was clean, welcoming and extremely well-equipped. We had everything necessary for preparing family feasts, having a wood fire, plenty of bathrooms and comfortable beds. Robin and Francine even left a beautifully decorated real Christmas tree for us the enjoy (and put our presents under), a very thoughtful touch. We enjoyed the hot tub and trampoline (we were lucky with the weather, cold but not rainy) as well as the local walks to pubs. We bought our Christmas turkey (ordered in advance) at the fabulous Flower Farm shop, which is nearby and is a great source for all things edible. Robin and Francine's guide to local amenities and activities is thorough and quite useful. Robin was very attentive and open to queries but everything was so clearly laid out we didn't really have any questions. One last thing - the gardens are exceptional - even in December! I was in awe - especially the topiary. The old yew trees! xx

What a hidden gem of a place! We feel so lucky to have found Stable Oak Cottages and to have spent New Year there with our family celebrating our sons 18th. The place was gorgeous and the hot tub such a treat! The alpacas were great entertainment and the luxurious little touches from bath robes and sliders, to home baked bread and muffins were just wonderful. Highly recommend.

Great area of London for restaurants and markets. Easy access to Tube at Algate East and other rail at Liverpool Station. Val’s place was homey and clean and lots of room. Kitchen really well equipped. Views of the skyline beautiful, especially at night. A wonderful place to stay in the eastern end of London.

Such a fantastic property! The smart home features for use with the hot tub, AC, lights etc were a really nice touch. The host was more than helpful and welcomed us into the house and gave us lots of info about the local area.

My family and I had the most wonderful stay at the River View barn. The barn was lovely and so peaceful with a beautiful view. We had such a great time and would recommend this to everyone.

This was my second visit to Carol-Anne's beautiful flat, and it definitely won't be the last. I love everything about it. Minutes from the Northern Line and with an abundance of little shops minutes down the road, I felt at home and could easily get anywhere in or out of London. Clean, beautifully decorated, and on a lovely quiet street. I couldn't have been happier and hated to leave.

Our short stay at Debbie’s flat was so good! She let us pay £10 per each hour before check in time which was so worth it as we arrived with 4 kids in the morning so it was nice to check in around 11 and get our bags settled so we could spend the rest of the day exploring! The flat was so cute and free of clutter, comfortable, and such easy walking distance from Kings Cross so it was very easy to get around. The neighborhood was quiet and safe and we would honestly want to stay there again if we make our way back to London! Thank you so much for everything!

Unbeatable location in the heart of a great neighborhood; walking distance to anything you may need and then some: great shops, restaurants, bakeries and even a supermarket and a pharmacy. Choosing between the train and walking to the center of London is also a no brainer if you enjoy walking

We were as a family in June a week at Sinead's guest. The house is wonderful and very easy to reach by public transport. We especially liked the beautiful garden, where we could have a wonderful breakfast and enjoy the break from the hustle and bustle of the big city of London. Sinead is a perfect hostess and we had a very nice time with her. We'll be back anytime!

Truly wonderful location - we walked EVERYWHERE .... Kensington Gardens, Hyde Park, Buckingham Palace, Little Venice, Regent's Canal, Camden, Notting Hill, Marylebone, Mayfair .... A very easy commute from Heathrow to the apartment on the Elizabeth Line, alighting at Paddington Station with only a short walk then to the apartment. Ivo & Ann-Mari have thought of EVERYTHING, so the apartment was perfectly appointed - bed was super comfortable plus we were warmly welcomed with a bottle of wine, REAL milk to make a cuppa (so very often not provided) and crumpets and jam for a snack - delicious ! We would like to also acknowledge their kind understanding and calmness when we realised we were 1 day short with our original booking and needed to stay 1 more night at very short notice ! A big thank you again Ann-Mari !

Very good place and everything very clear

We cannot say enough about Davey and his charming home! Davey welcomed us and was so accommodating to our needs as we arrived early in town. He was friendly and welcoming and his home was absolutely lovely, and was so nice to come back to after a busy day in London. We fell in love with Greenwich and loved what an easy walk it was into town from Davey’s home. We unfortunately left our prescription glasses and Davey was so kind, he mailed them back to our home in the states, with a little help from Sydney, his adorable pup. We can’t thank him enough and hope to come back to visit again.

Paul and Angela's cottage was perfect for our short stay. The location is in a very quiet location yet within walking distance of all the places we wanted to visit in Greenwich and near great transport links to Central London. The cottage itself has everything you need for a comfortable stay. As mentioned in other reviews there is a narrow spiral staircase as clearly shown in the pictures but our 6 year old managed this just fine and we were able to take our cases up. Paul and Angela answered any queries quickly and were kindly able to accommodate requests to leave luggage at the cottage pre/post check in/out times so we could make the most of our short stay. We would certainly stay again and recommend to others.

Pash is amazing. So responsive, easy going and absolutely helpful when we had a purse/bag stolen. (With everything in it plus phone.) He sent his friend with a key and we were met with the nicest man ever. 🥰 Thank you for making our shitty day better. Wish everyone could be that way all over the world no matter where or who you are from. Stealing from others is low. Thanks Pash and friends for being nice and for what this world needs! 🇬🇧🫶🇺🇸

Great location, owner responsive, easy to get around!

Absolutely great place,it does look 100% way better then what you see in pictures Literally you can get there the most peaceful getaway ,we already recommended this place to friends and we will definitely use this place again Worth for the price 100%.

How to start?? I would highly recommend Charles' place! When you get there and go up the stairs, you might think it's not going to be good. However, when you open the door you'll be taken back as to how beautiful his place is!! I felt right at home! Charles had wine, milk, OJ, bread and eggs. The sleigh bed was not only comfy but so pretty. He had great darkening curtains which also serve as a divider from the living room. The shower was welcoming. If I come back to London, I'd stay at Charles' place!

What a beautiful little place to stay in London. We really couldn't have been happier with it. Victoria and her husband are both very kind and it was idyllic going for morning swims in the pool. Thank you 😊

We had a lovely week in Plantagenet and really cannot recommend it enough; the cottage really exceeded our expectations. The garden is phenomenal. It was a private and tranquil escape and our collie thoroughly enjoyed doing laps of the large garden despite the rainy weather. We loved it from the moment we arrived and didn't want to leave. The cottage is well equipped, has a great cosy ambiance with lots of indoor and outdoor game options no matter what the weather. The communication with Tim&Maite was friendly and responsive, we particularly appreciated the slightly late check out. We are hoping to book again soon with more of our family joining us.

Tara was very welcoming and made us feel instantly at home. The flat was well equipped with everything we needed. The flat was well located with easy transport links nearby. We would definitely stay here again!😄

Jodi’s home is a great place to stay. We were going to a wedding at Hackney Town Hall and could walk easily there and to the restaurant afterwards. It’s also beautifully located looking out at London Fields. The home was well provided for, we had everything we needed and so much more. We loved the decor, there was so much to see and read. Thank you Jodi, you were so helpful too and we loved your home.

Great place for a large group or family, Plenty to do Tennis, Swimming, Table tennis, football, BBQ and Fire pits and outside dinning. great setting/ surrounding and nice walks around the surrounding fields and vineyards and orchards. Location is very remote which is a positive to some people but negative if you want to explore the area, its 10 mins through singletrack lanes to get to a main road. Property was spacious and well equipped but needs some decoration refresh and inside and out, all doors where very difficult to get in out of as all the doors and locks kept ceasing up or swelling in the heat, on all properties. All in all a great place to stay for a large group or family event and reasonably priced, just need a bit of TLC

Completely 10/10 great location gorgeous house lovely host great value so homely could not have asked for any more. Very very grateful for a perfect get away xxx
