"But I want my children to experience nature...!" We have created a "child-friendly inn" concept that allows you to stay with peace of mind even when traveling with small children. Takashima City, Shiga Prefecture, where the inn is located, is a place rich in nature. In recent years, the younger generation has been moving to the area in search of good access to Kyoto and Osaka and the richness of nature. There are plenty of spots where you can enjoy nature all year round, such as Lake Biwa's play spots, Makino Pick Land, and Makino Kogen Ski Resort, all within a 5-10 minute drive from the inn! In the inn, we have prepared equipment and rooms based on the standard of "being able to stay with peace of mind" for those of us who are raising children. We hope that you can relax a little at our inn after the difficult days when you usually can't take your eyes off your children.

Our guesthouse is in a beautiful mountain village, near to it are pristine forests with beech trees and an ancient mountain path that was used to carry sea products from Japan sea to Kyoto in old days. In front of the guesthouse runs a stream that is a source of Lake Biwa and its water is crystal clear ; in early summer nights many fireflies fly over the stream. In winter, we have a lot of snow ; sometimes it reaches 2 meters from the ground! On clear nights you can enjoy the sky full of stars.

To ensure you enjoy the stay to the fullest, I set check-in and check-out time to both 12:00 Noon. So you can stay up for 24 hours with one night booking. YAMANOTE HOUSE is accessible from major Kansai stations with 37min from Kyoto Sta. or 65min from Osaka Sta. If you come by car from Kyoto it takes less than 1 hour. The area aournd the house is once small castle town. The house is located next to the Shrine, Hiyoshi-Jinja, where the Omizo Festival is held on May 3 and 4 every year.
