Best nature experience for a getaway from the city

Superbe adresse sur le lac Maninjau, emplacement de rêve, les pieds dans l’eau. Nous avons été reçus très chaleureusement par Eka et sa famille. Eka est exceptionnel pour sa gentillesse et son désir de rendre service, il est venu nous chercher à Parapat avec un ami à lui, ils ont fait l’aller/retour en 2 jours (16H30) de voyage à chaque parcours et ils ont été très prudents. Eka nous a aussi accompagné pour la prolongation de notre visa à l’immigration de Bukittinggi, ce n’était pas très simple, heureusement qu’il était là ! Il nous a conduit à Pallupuh afin que nous puissions voir une rafflésia en fleur. Le scooter qu’il nous a loué était de très bonne qualité ainsi, nous avons pu découvrir les environs de ce lac magnifique et sauvage, une belle étape dans un superbe environnement, ne pas manquer de passer chez Eka, nous n’avons qu’un souhait, c’est pouvoir y revenir au plus vite !!!

Thanks for hosting us. My family loved staying here! It was quiet, safe, and spacious enough for the kids to enjoy. The kitchen was well stocked and the beds were super comfortable. We’ll definitely be back if we’re in the area again!

staffs are responsive and helpful. the room is as described, it comes with beautiful mountain view. but there are unexpectedly too many mosquitoes, making it quite hard for us to really sit at the balcony and enjoy the view. *one of us who is super attractive type to mosquitoes, she refrained herself from stepping out of the room because of this. As expected, the first night is quiet and transquil, I had a pleasant good sleep. but the second night was terrible with inconsiderate bunch of people who stayed uphill making noises from 8pm til 4am. we were told that the unit was hosted by a different owner, and the guests didn't comply to the rules despite being warned by the owner. not sure if anything can be done e.g. better sound proof for the building or provide earbuds for guests. for now we could only blame it on luck for such an unpleasant experience. anyway still a place that I would probably revisit in the future.

The van is in a very convenient location. Close to the MRT. Lorraine was very quick to respond. What we didn't like ,was that the master bedroom smelled of mold. It was very humid. We wanted to sleep with the door open because of the smell, but when you open it in the opposite block there is something that makes noise 24/7 and is very annoying. My husband is involved in construction and noticed that there is not enough ventilation that's why it happens like this. It's not the owners' fault but the builders'. We should have chosen the mirrored container, it was quieter there. Despite everything we had a wonderful vacation.

Our time at Cabin Dukati, on this charming farm with the kindest Malaysian family, was an absolute dream! Not only was the location perfect, the tiny house was cozy and surrounded by nature, but the extraordinary hospitality of the family truly made this experience unforgettable. We spent four wonderful days here, during which the host father shared so much fascinating knowledge about the plant world (including Stevia, fertilizer production, and more) and imparted many valuable life lessons. He also brought us closer to the Malaysian culture, the teachings of the Quran and Islam, doing so in a very respectful manner towards other religions. They gifted us with heartfelt moments on this unique farm and also took the time to show us the surrounding area of Kati. We also felt so safe and at home on the farm that we never used the door key to our tiny house. This is just one exemplary demonstration of the mutual trust we built from the beginning. A big thank you from Switzerland!

The hosts were incredibly warm and welcoming, making me feel right at home from the moment I arrived. The property was spotlessly clean and cozy with thoughtful touches like fresh flowers and local treats. The location was peaceful. The hosts went very helpful always. Highly recommend for a relaxing and memorable stay.

The place was very nice, just like in the pictures. There are plenty of surfspots around the bungalow, wich we could drive with our scooter. But the waves are definitely not for beginners. Other than that we had a wonderful time. Jenny and Roy, the couple that manage the place are just wonderful people. Jennys cooking skills are of the chart, every meal we ate tasted delicious! They made our stay very comfortable. The rooms were very clean.

Great place and communication from host!

We had a wonderful staycation here with our dog. It’s a peaceful nature retreat and the perfect escape from the city. Mornings were filled with cool breezes and the calming sounds of nature. I loved walking my dog along the scenic, tree-lined paths—it was so relaxing. Kenneth is friendly and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed. Highly recommend for anyone seeking a tranquil, nature-filled getaway.

Great host. Nice place for grouping activities. Staff very friendly and helpful. Host allowed us to do early check in. They also help to set fire for BBQ. Very peaceful place as well.

Very nice play for a short getaway from the city. Only less than an hour away from KL. The place is very very close to the nature. Do not expect a luxurious stay at here. It is on another side of experience. The place is well maintained. There are 3 friendly doggies. Very well behaved. Suitable for non dog people. The worker there has been very helpful. The farmhouse has aged very well. The facilities were great. Farmhouse has most private space. At night you could hear the nature’s concert. Must bring mosquito repellent. Great stay overall.
