Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Sumatra

It was a perfect place to stay connected with the nature while not compromising the comfort/ Without stepping out from the house, we could enjoy the tranquility of the nature. We all woke up early to c the sun rise n we felt we got few hours extra for the day. the nature walk was the highlights, not too tough, a great adventure and bonding time for the family in the jungle around the house, the caretaker even brought the first aids kit along in case emergency.. Kids were very excited spotted 3 siamiang monkeys.. The fully equipped kitchen met our cooking needs, just bring the food ingredient, all other utensils r provided.. The thoughtful n responsive owner, Joanne, setup 3 mattress at the loft where has the greatest view of the house, for the cousins all sleep together, they could even watch the sun rise from their bed.. She also gave good recommendations n sent reminder things to take note numerously to ensure we’re safe n comfort during our stay.. definitely will come back again..

This is my second time booking this homestay – the house is super spacious and very clean. We had a birthday event this time, and everything was provided – tables, chairs, all complete. Really recommended! The owner is friendly and easy to talk to. Such a beautiful home… I love it!

We had a wonderful stay! The accommodation was perfect for us, as we were looking for a place within walking distance to the beach that also had a swimming pool for the kids. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly throughout our stay. However, the common area can get quite hot during the morning and afternoon. It would be great if more fans were provided. For the the dining area, installing blinds to block out the direct sunlight would make the space more comfortable. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, which is very convenient. Right in front of the homestay, there’s a nasi lemak restaurant that opens at night.

Staying at this homestay was a delightful experience! The house was filled with traditional Malay charm, from the beautifully crafted wooden interiors to the cozy, welcoming atmosphere. Ighwan & Siti was exceptionally warm and hospitable, ensuring every detail was taken care of. I truly appreciated the thoughtful touches, such as the interiors, the stunning kampung views, and the peaceful ambiance. The location was perfect, giving me a taste of authentic Malay village life. Perfect place to spend a night in Bukit Lawang on a budget! Got everything we needed. The balcony overlooking the river is a great place to relax! Communication was easy and helpful!

We are here to enjoy the weekend together with the team and be a bit more chill. Met the expectations, and everyone rested well. Whoever wants to come in a group, I think is a good choice beds are more than enough to fit everyone. There is also another small cottage which female and male can seperate out

The moment we stepped in into Afiqs place, we felt right at home! The rooms & facilities were accurately captured per photos and the beds and sofas were super comfy, which comfortably fit 7 adults and 2 kids (6&11). We normally would have difficulty in sleeping whence getting into a new place, but the beds were cozy that we were knocked out even on day one! The water purifier was always cold, so that was great! The kids had a fantastic time in the pool, which was clean and nicely designed to suit kids of all ages. And after pool session, we lounged around on the comfy sofa for tv time. Afiq also prepared some welcome treats upon arrival, so that was a nice touch. The location is extremely ideal for us all, as it was close to our event venue and it’s a haven for foodie lovers! We barely had to venture out of the area to go to town, because there were plenty of affordable, amazing and delicious food places to discover. Definitely a hidden gem!

The house is very nice and clean, pool was the highlight for the kids. It's good enough to splash around but not a lap pool definitely. House has all the amenities listed, it's within walking distance to Jonker, within a quiet residential estate. Host is very responsive and considerate, she prepared snacks and drinks ahead of our arrival. Toilets though small, are clean and sufficient. The only suggestion I have is to install more wash basins, for my family of 11 we need to take turns to brush out teeth as there is only 1 basin. Overall a great stay and we will definitely be back!

Love this place so much! Same goes for my family. Dennis is a good and responsive host. His house is very clean—feels like home sweet home. You can see he put a lot of thought and care into his homestay. Dennis prepared a lot of free F&B (eggs, cup noodles, coffee, tea, Milo, milk, etc). We loved the balcony the most—very comfortable! Had breakfast there every morning with what he provided. If got Jam, it would be perfect! Really appreciate he gave freeze-dried coffee and not 3-in-1—nice touch! Living room has 2 sofas—one of them is moderately firm, good for sleeping. Two bedrooms: master room fits 3–4 people and smaller room fits 2 and comes with a balcony. The bathroom is clean, and shampoo is provided. Water pressure is strong, and the water is hot. The TV is large but only supports YouTube, unless you have a Netflix account to log in. Parking is convenient, just in front of the house and no need to wait for the lift—very convenient! Overall, an excellent stay. Thanks again!

Clean, Comfortable & Convenient! 1. Host was kind to let us check in early (1.30pm) and explained things very clearly. 2. Dual suite - 1 studio flat + the other one 1-bedroom apt. Both units have their own entrance but connected by one main door. 3. Clean - I was impressed at how spotless all the bedrooms & bathrooms were! Amenities were provided as listed in description. 4. Location - Ground Flr of Lucentia Residences connects to a parking lot, which then has a door. That door opens directly to Lalaport. Very easy to access Jaya Grocer convenience store & many restaurants. Also very quiet at night (no party or honking sounds heard) so light sleepers, you can sleep in peace every night! 5. Maybe can change the mini iron board to an iron board with stand. But we only used it 2x so not much of an issue. Also suggesting to include photos in the PDF guide / location of the mail room to return keys on check-out day. Other than that, overall very satisfied! Hope to come again in the future.

The first Airbnb I truly enjoyed. My partner and I needed a place to stay in Malaysia - and Mont Kiara is perfect. It's safe, quiet, community here is amazing, and in these 2 months I've meet so many good and kind people that I'll miss. Shopping is easy, there is a gym, pools, everything I needed. And this area was a great place for taking late night runs, it's so quiet and safe - very nice. And there is a local running community I always see them while I'm on my runs. The Airbnb listing mentioned “light cooking,” but honestly, the kitchen was better equipped than my own home. Cooking here was AMAZING, the space was clean, easy to use, equipped and just very pretty. Living here was effortless. Small things, like the easy-to-use washing machine, made a big difference for someone like me who works long hours. I had a lot of extra time to create memories here and I couldn't be more grateful to Yau for this amazing place, and Malaysia for offering this. 100% coming back when I visit!

Our stay was great. Hannah's communication is the best and we knew exactly what to do. The recommendations were also nice and it was very helpfull to have Mr. Chuan as a taxi driver from the airport. I also would like to say that the room have everything that we needed, even bottled water ! The rooftop with the pool was a real plus. We went there everyday and it never was busy. Lalaport mall is just near, with a lot of restaurants :) A walking distance to Jalan Alor too. I recommend this stay !

We loved our stay. The apartment is spacious and well kept. Easy to find and easy to self check in. The location is a little bit out of the centre, which we always look for. But it’s easy to get a grab or a train into the centre. The trains are air conned so we loved being on them. There are plenty of great restaurants near by and street food places within walking distance. The view at night from the apartment and the pool is the highlight. Recommend a night time swim with the lit up skyline. We would definitely stay here again if we ever return the KL. Thank you.

Me and my wife had a great short stay at this place, the standard of the building and its facilities are both top notch! The view from the window of our room, from the gym and the rooftop infinity pool of the KL skyline is beautiful - be it day or night. Really good value for money.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay! House is clean, spacious and modern. Well furnished and decorated with beautiful plants. It is central and accessible to many of the mega malls. Will definitely recommend if you’re looking for an amazing stay with friends or family in kl!

This is a cozy, neat and clean place to stay. Its location is good, there's lot of foodie nearby. The owner is responsive, good in communication and provide good tips for travel. Recomended to those who coming to Ipoh! 😊
