Holiday rentals with lake access in Southern Province

The owner was very kind and we had a comfortable stay. Plenty of kitchen utensils, spacious and clean living room and bedroom. Located in a quiet residential area, it is possible to walk to the town and the beach.

We really loved our stay at Monika‘s guesthouse. The one-bedroom house is situated right at Koggala Lake, so we were surrounded by pure nature and the sounds of the jungle. The location is very peaceful. There is a joint restaurant closeby but still the house feels quite private. The house provides everything you need: bed linen, TV, a fully equipped outdoor kitchen, enclosed bathroom and a washing machine. However if you need anything, the staff is very helpful. It‘s the perfect place if you are looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the town and love to stay in nature in a calm environment. We would have loved to stay longer. We definitely can recommend it and are looking forward to coming back here.

Lahiru and his family were amazing hosts and so kind to us! They moved over our bags from their other property (shady cottage) while we were away for the day and even came to help us when we ran out of gas on our bike. They were so friendly and we felt right at home. It’s a beautiful peaceful location that is still close to ahanagama and kabalana beach which has lots of restaurants, surfing, bars. You can rent a bike so you can get around easily. Thank you for everything you did for our stay! :)

Fabulous villa for our two families of 4 adults and 4 children (all under 5). The pool was the best we had during our time in Sri Lanka with a guard on duty to clean daily as well as being located in a lush garden where we had water monitors, mongoose and eagles fly above us. Jayantha is a true master in the kitchen. Please order his dinners if you stay as they taste delightful as well as cheaper than out at restaurants. The breakfast was even better with different options each day (egg hoppers, pancakes, omelette plus fresh fruit and toast). If we return we would not hesitate to stay again.

We booked super last minute, but they still hosted us so beautifully and made everything feel effortless! So warm, welcoming, and accommodating truly grateful for the lovely experience. Highly recommend!

This is an extremely cozy house! It is located a little bit deep from the main roads, so it is silence and calm here. I enjoyed here with birds, palms, nature sounds. I was surprised with small quantity of mosquitos here, but for your safety hosts provide you with mosquito net. Oh, God, how it's wonderful to sleep with open doors and windows here - it's smell, sounds..perfect! And to be honest I even didn't use a fan during night's, because the temperature was absolutely comfortable. The villa has rather good WiFi and if you are a remote worker it will suite to you (the day temperature is also good when you open windows and use fan, there is no necessity in AC). Hosts are absolutely cute and caring about you! But villa is located rather far from any shops and beaches (apr. 10 min by bike) - so bike or tuktuk are absolutely necessary here, and there is not a problem to reach this location. Having traveled the entire coast from Galle, I do not want to change this place of living.

Die Unterkunft war definitiv die schönste unserer ganzen Reise. Es sah genauso aus wie auf den Fotos und wir fühlten uns unfassbar wohl! Morgens seinen Kaffee und Frühstück auf der wunderschönen Terasse zu trinken war ein Highlight. Die Gastgeberin und Mitarbeiterin waren sehr nett und haben uns beispielsweise von der Straße mit einem tuktuk abgeholt, als wir den Eingang nicht direkt gefunden haben. Wir konnten über die Unterkunft auch direkt super leicht Roller mieten und uns tuktuks in den nächsten Ort organisieren. In der Gegend gibt es leider bis auf ein paar Restaurants (die super sind) nicht so viel (keine richtige Einkaufsmöglichkeiten), jedoch ist z.B der Jungle Beach nur ein paar Gehminuten entfernt und unfassbar schön!

Fantastic accommodation and host. We had a lovely stay in this air bnb. The host was fantastic helping us with the laundry and organising a scooter. Finally the architecture of the building was stunning and the outdoor space. Close to everything thing you need in Tangelle. Highly recommend

apartment is very Peaceful and sea beach very near also shopping centre you can walk by yourself . garden very clean and beautiful. our family spend very nice time together at the apartment. Specially with papa everything is best There was a lake just next to the garden. Highly recommend. we will come back again soon.

Nishantha и его семья невероятно внимательны и отзывчивы, мы очень рады знакомству с ними, спасибо за гостеприимство. В нашем распоряжении был прекрасный дом с приватной и ухоженной территорией, бассейном, видом на озеро. Отдельная зона для BBQ, вечером включается красивое освещение, в виде лампочек, было ощущение какого то праздника. Фауна на Шри Ланке, в целом очень богатая, и на этой вилле мы видели варанов, в гости заходил павлин, много бурундуков и красивых птиц. Я точно уверен, что выбрав это жилье - вы ни о чем не пожалеете.

This is a perfect place for a laid back holiday, just far enough from Mirissa's hustles & bustles, but it's just 5/10 minutes drive if you hire a scotty. The place is new, have all the amenities, rooftop kitchen is a big plus. The host is super friendly and helpful, he kept providing us drinking water the whole time and he is going to install a water purifier in the apartment as well. We are the first guest here, we loved the place and would highly recommend!

This was our favorite stay so far in 6 weeks in Sri Lanka. Location is absolutely stunning in nature with an incredible patio overlooking the lake. We saw so many animals while sitting out there. The house itself is brand new and perfectly clean and super comfortable. This is a great long term option. It is further from the center of Weligama, which I personally loved because you’re out of the noise and bustle of the city but still a quick tuk tuk or scooter ride into town. The staff onsite are extremely kind of welcoming and are available to help all the time. Would 100% recommend this property!!

Wow! Nous avons passé un séjour magique de trois semaines au Nomads Colive. Par ou commencer: la vue sur le lac, le style de la chambre, la fenêtre de la douche qui donne sur la jungle et les oiseaux, les bruits paisibles des animaux ou des chants du temple bouddhiste à côté, notre balcon, nos voisins les singes (mieux qu'un safari!), le personnel adorable toujours présent pour répondre à nos besoins, le quartier avec que des gentilles personnes qui vous sourient. C'était incroyable! C'est situé dans un quartier résidentiel donc vous ne serez pas à côté des restaurants: mais sans hésiter, venez ici! Vous serez au calme et en pleine nature, c'est tellement ressourçant. En seulement quelques minutes vous serez en ville, en tuk tuk ou en scooter que l'hôte peut arranger pour vous. Je conseillerai à n'importe qui de venir ici, nous reviendrons !

Staying with Nalaka and his family was truly one of the best experiences we’ve had on our trip. From the very first moment, we didn’t just feel welcome, we felt like we were visiting old friends. They have such big hearts and were always there with a smile, a kind word, or a helping hand. The place itself was even more beautiful than the photos. Everything was super clean, peaceful, and surrounded by nature. But what made our stay unforgettable was the way Nalaka and his family treated us. We had so many lovely conversations, and it always felt like they genuinely cared about us and our experience. He also cooked for us a few times, and the food was honestly some of the best we had in Sri Lanka. So if you’re looking for a real, honest, and heartwarming Sri Lankan experience, not just a place to sleep, but a place to connect, then you should definitely book this Airbnb. We’ll always remember this stay, and we’re so grateful we got to meet Nalaka and his wonderful family.

Staying at Lakmali's place in Runakanda Forest is definitely one of my top 5 favorite places in Sri Lanka. I’m so grateful to have had the opportunity to stay there, especially with my mom, as it was her first time in Sri Lanka,and she absolutely loved every moment of it! The food was beyond incredible! Each meal was showcasing the rich and flavorful Sri Lankan cuisine. The peaceful and serene surroundings of the forest made it the perfect escape. It’s a truly tranquil place where we could relax, and the location was just ideal for enjoying authentic local experiences. We had the chance to pick tea just a short walk away from the cottage, a unique experience that we’ll never forget. We also had the pleasure of meeting wonderful people, and the warm hospitality made our stay feel special. My mom and I both agreed that it was a stay we’ll cherish forever. I can’t recommend Lakmali’s place highly enough for anyone looking for a peaceful, authentic, and unforgettable experience in SL !

We had the best stay! We literally have no complaints whatsoever. This was a weekend full of relaxation, nature and sunshine. Vinodh was very accommodating, quick to respond and gave us amazing local recommendations. We loved the free tuk tuk service to and from nearby restaurants. Whenever we had any questions, Vinodh was always super quick to respond and was always helpful. The airbnb has everything you might need from shampoo, insect repellant and lots of yummy snacks and drinks (and water) you can help yourself to. The breakfast each morning was amazing and Vinodh was so flexible with times and dietary requirements. We wished we could have stayed longer as it really is paradise. Highly recommend!!

Unser Aufenthalt war rundum gelungen! Der Gastgeber war äußerst höflich und jederzeit ansprechbar. Wenn wir etwas benötigten, konnten wir ihn unkompliziert über Chat Nachricht kontaktieren – er antwortete meist sofort und kümmerte sich schnell um unsere Anliegen. Besonders hervorzuheben ist, dass er uns am Abreisetag zu einem fairen Preis mit dem Auto zur nächsten Unterkunft gebracht hat. Die Zimmer waren schön eingerichtet, die Außenanlage liebevoll und ansprechend gestaltet. Insgesamt eine sehr angenehme Atmosphäre – wir können diese Unterkunft eindeutig weiterempfehlen!

This experience was one of the greatest of all. Dillip is such a nice person, he cares about your well-being, he is so attentive to whatever you are needing, he made me feel like I was with a life-time friend. We had a couple of cool adventures together, because he showed me places to visit nearby. He taught me how to prepare local dishes and all of his cooking is just breathtaking. As a solo female traveler I felt safe all my stay! His family is so nice, his father brought me fruits almost daily and we had great conversations even though the language barrier. I want to come back to this magical place, totally recommend it! You will get the chance to meet an amazing human being and hopefully get a friendship on the way!
