Pet-friendly holiday rentals in Sotavento Islands

Communication with Gerson was always very quick and easy. when we arrived the T2 we rented was not ready, so we had to spend the first night at a t1 and share bed. as we were two friends there was no inconvenience, but it would have been boring if we were two friends of the opposite dry. We only knew this impossibility when we arrived and the next day we moved to T2 (also giving more work with bags and organization). t2 does not have hot water.. I had not noticed this until it arrived but maybe it was I who did not see the information. intermet does not work on T2, which was enough boring since I had to work.... otherwise, everything is ok.

The house is just like in the photographs, a wooden construction in which nothing has been left to chance and which is filled with small details and revealing details of the love and affection with which it was built and appreciated. Like any wooden house, it is already showing small points in need of maintenance, but nothing serious. The view from the house on the outer porch is stunning and it's precisely what we loved the most. To stay outside at night, observing the immensity of the starry sky and in silence, only with the sound of the sea, was equally pleasant. The perfect home to welcome us with our family. We leave with great desire to return for more days. Small appliances missing can improve the experience (kettle or coffee maker). On the contiguous terrain of the house a new dwelling is being built, which removes privacy from the porch. Workers are respectful and do not start making noise too early.

This is where you want to be! Pool large enough for short laps. The house is huge! Lucas' relatives are across the driveway and very helpful with issues. Expect some family activity, but other times completely quiet, and we had the pool to ourselves whenever we used it. Rental car needed.

Hanspeter was a accommodating host and we are grateful for his energetic organizational support ahead of our trip. The bungalows are very nicely decorated and extremely clean. They are on the outskirts, only a few minutes' walk from the beach, and in the evening there is a little more peace and quiet than in the village center. If you are looking for relaxation and tranquility paired with warm climate, Maio and Hanspeter will not be disappointed!

We enjoyed the quiet stay at Dinohelders place in the hills of Santiago. The house has a very tasty interior design and we felt at home from the beginning. The garden is beautiful with all the plants and the pergola is beautiful. People living around the area are super helpful and friendly. You'll see all kinds of farm animals around the property. There are nice hiking opportunities available right from the house. Thanks again for letting us stay at this beautiful place.

A friend and I stayed at Maria's place as we were visiting Calheta for the first time. From my initial outreach to Maria, she was always responsive and very accommodating. Maria and her family were very welcoming and friendly. They hosted us for a lovely breakfast and a few unexpected friends even came over. Maria's place is in a very walkable area and close to a beautiful cliff over looking the ocean. Highly recommend.

Very nice accommodation, well located and very clean on the beautiful island of Maio. We arrived at 9am and were able to directly access the accommodation with transportation included from the port. The infinity pool is very well maintained and allows you to perfectly contemplate the sunset. Access to a private beach is also present and allows extreme tranquility.

A very nice house. Spacious, quiet. With airco, which is very nice in August. Wifi is good, I could do quite a bit of work. Kitchen is fully equipped but I didnt really cook in it. There is a good restaurant just around the corner, Benfica. Also, Quebra Kanela is within walking distance if it is not too hot outside. If you want to go to Plateau take a taxi. Aidil met me when I was on the main street nearby, and took me to her house. There she explained everything. Later she brought me papaya which I liked, it is one of my favorite fruits. Highly recommended!

A wonderful house, perfectly clean, nicely decorated and very well equipped, in a dreamy landscape (the terrace overlooks the ocean: during our 7-day stay we saw dolphins and a whale directly from the terrace). The very kind and efficient Ivania and Daniel were always there to help with everything we needed (meals, birthday cake, island tour, tips, stories about Maio and its locals). Patricia is always attentive and has helped us immensely, for example with transportation to and from Praia: huge thank you, Patricia, for the perfect hospitality! We will go back because the experience in Maio was fabulous!

Great space

The unit is just as shown in the pictures. Very nice and clean place. New Development. Building seems to be very safe. A key is needed for the main door to access inside in the building. Safety and security was big for me and this place did feel secure. The cleaning lady was amazing and helpful. Rooftop is shared so laundry is left to dry up there but I never had any issues with my neighbors. Only downsides were the water did run out and we did not have any running water for a few hours. The master bedroom door did lock on it’s own and would not open, there was an issue with the handle it came loose and was not operating properly. Besides those two hiccups I enjoyed my time there. I stayed for about 15 days and felt at home.

Kindly Bernard agreed to pick us up for free from our previous accommodation. He accommodated us in a larger, very nice house. Valerie and Bernard do everything to make our stay enjoyable: bike loan, informed advice, we really enjoyed the visit to her friend Raphaël Colicci who founded the Maioasis agroforestry farm:an extraordinary project to develop autonomous farms for social and solidarity purposes on the island of Maio.

A perfect place to relax, lovely hosts both Bernad and his wife were so wonderful. Helped with everything we asked for. Always happy and pleasant. Highly recommended. We will try to go there again if we are healthy. Britt Marie and Tore

This is a lovely house, with a large living room, a fully stocked kitchen, a veranda, overlooking the ocean. The house is very quiet, cozy, the pool is literally behind the neighboring house. From the pool you can walk down to the small beach. Big great beaches within a 10 minute walk. Nearby there are several shops, with a good assortment of products. And most importantly: we saw whales right from the veranda of our house, it's incredible!

Franklin was very friendly and helpful and picked us up from the pier. The apartment was very clean and cozy and we felt very much at home. The beaches are just amazing .

Perfect, I was very pleased with the stay. The owner is very nice, and everything was explained very clearly. I highly recommend it.

We enjoyed staying at Sandro's apartment, everything was very organized and clean. My daughter felt right at home, she was still able to watch Netflix and we enjoyed exploring the nearby restaurant where they sell the best “catxupa, couscous, as well as fresh bread and coffee” This place is highly recommended, especially if you are traveling with your family.

Accommodation matches the photos. Located just above the restaurant that provides you with breakfast. Everything is provided, towels, shower gel and shampoo, it's nice. It is very well located on the Parai plateau. Restaurants are nearby for eating as well as a convenience store where you can shop if needed. And if you ever want to go further in Praia, the taxi will not cost you much.

Our stay had some great aspects, but also a few challenges. The hosts were kind enough to let us into the house before check-in time, which we appreciated. However, the house wasn’t cleaned upon arrival, and while we were told it would be done before 3 PM, it wasn’t. The location was a bit tricky to find at first, and the WiFi signal didn’t quite reach the bedroom. Also, the bed had no fitted sheet, and the top sheet kept slipping off, which made sleeping less comfortable. That said, the house itself was nice, and with a few improvements in cleanliness and amenities, it would be a great place to stay. Thanks to the hosts for their hospitality!

Great stay at Maria's place where it feels like home or even better! The accommodation is very comfortable, well equipped: there is even a fryer air! The neighborhood is very welcoming, the neighborhood is rather quiet and nice. A big thank you to Aurelio who was always able to make himself available as well as to the caretakers all were very kind!

The apartment is very spacious and has a great location to take the different taxis. It is located right across the street from the police station, it's safe. From the 2 terraces/balconies you have a beautiful view of the mountains. It was Dany's parents who welcomed us. We saw Dany later. They are really charming, advised us on things to do, to see as well as restaurants. Dany's dad kindly offered to drop us off by car several times. Thank you so much for your warm hospitality. We recommend this rental for all these reasons.
