Great hiking opportunities, fishing, canoeing and biking in summer and winter, the area offers fantastic cross-country trails nearby and a great alpine resort. Access to the high mountains of Rondane and Jotunheimen is about 1 hour drive. The cottage is a short walk away from Gålå grocery store with year-round operations, and cafe and high mountain hotel just nearby.

Large window surfaces give lots of light and let nature in. The Ålhytta has harvested a lot of attention for its concept and good architecture and is a modern classic worth experiencing. The cabin is well equipped, has beautiful views and a Jacuzzi outside. 8 bedrooms and room for 24 people. The cabin is surrounded by beautiful mountains ideal for skiing, hiking, bicycling and more! Ski trails/slopes are just about 400m from the cabin. You also have the ski resort, cafes, ski rental and supermarket about 5-10min drive from the cabin.

Det er også kort vei til alpinbakke, skiarena med rulleskiløype, sprintløyper og lysløyper, kafe, matvare/sports-butikk og Peer Gynt- arena og mye mer. Området er fullt av merkede stier og fine enkle fjellturer.
