Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Sonafluca

Karla is a wonderful host. She greeted us at her home and took us to our rental. She gave us a tour of the home and even left us fresh fruit & Coca-Colas. The home is beautiful but the backyard is the most magical part. Beautiful flowers and a beautiful seating area to hang out in. And the view of the river? Wow! Absolutely beautiful. My husband loved being able to walk down to the river to bird watch and my personal favorite was the tiny little frogs. It is an oasis! We had a very minor problem with some tiny ants, but Karla was quick to provide a solution. She is kind, responsive & all around the perfect host! She has also gone above & beyond to ensure that you feel safe with so many different safety measures. And I can’t forget to mention that the beds are so comfy! We all slept like babies! We love Karla and you will too!

We had an amazing time. The place is a short drive from La fortuna falls and walkable distance from the river. About 25mins drive to get to Arenal. Easy to find and has parking right out the door. There are plenty of restaurants a short drive away. Camilo was also very kind and gave us great local recommendations and helped us plan to make most of our time. Would definitely recommend.

We had an amazing stay here! The location was easy to find and not too far from the airport. There were definitely lots of local stores and restaurants to visit near by. We recommend Resturante Ross! The views especially early morning were amazing overall we have no complaints. Our favorite part was visiting the farm animals! Oscar was so nice and welcoming.

Very nice house. Clean and family friendly. Kitchen is nice. There are a lot of bugs in the rain forest so keep the windows closed! Coming from Florida USA so bugs are normal, but if you are not use to the tropics then bring bug spray for mosquitos. If you are from CR, like my partner, then you already know to keep doors and windows shut especially at night. AC was nice to have after a long day of being outside. Very close to hot springs. The markets and restaurants are great. Overall this place is really nice for a chill small group of people. This stay made our small family reunion feel comfortable and complete. It was 6 and 1/2 of us (1 baby) but this place is actually bigger than we thought. Very spacious and more than enough bed space. House keeping rules are simple. AC off when you leave the house to save for the environment! I hope who ever reads this has a great time like we did! Thank you John and Tati for your great hospitality.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Flower’s Paradise. Jarvey and Flor were gracious hosts, providing a tour of their family’s property, introducing my children to Max the Dog, sharing restaurant and activity recommendations and even offering to book activities for us. Jarvey shared small gifts each day - Costa Rican coffee, Flor’s delicious bread, fresh mora berries from Jarvey’s mora bush. These sweet surprises made us feel so special and cared for. We saw hummingbirds and agouti daily. We loved watching the clouds roll in and the afternoon rain from the covered balcony This home truly is paradise! Note: as others have mentioned, this view requires a drive up a steep hill. I appreciated having a 4x4 vehicle.

Jose, his family and friends were more than welcoming to us from the moment we came to the Airbnb! Quick responses and always there to lend us a hand or guide us to anything we may need! Amazing food at a local restaurant, horseback riding on his land with lots of things to see and learn about! His pool at the Airbnb was absolutely amazing! We loved getting to meet his family members and socializing with them! I would highly recommend this Airbnb to everyone in near the La Fortuna area!!! Ps wait until you see his 2nd one they are building right now!! Thank you soo very much! We loved everyone moment at your home!

We had a wonderful week-long stay at Monstera House. The home is exactly as described in the listing. The bathroom is so beautiful, the pool was spotless, and the rest of the house was amazingly clean. Sandra cooked us a Costa Rican breakfast every morning, which was such a sweet addition to our stay. We drove about 15 minutes every evening to get to La Fortuna for dinner, and about 30min-1hour for excursions in the morning near La Fortuna. Ubers are very accessible in the area, which we took often to dinner. Sandra was very helpful and responded very quickly. We can’t recommend this Airbnb enough!!

The hosts were so nice and helpful, we asked about the night walk last minute and they were able to offer it. The daughter even let us know when she spotted a sloth outside. She gave us many reccomendations for restaurants and markets. She even answered all my questions extremely quickly. We felt like family the whole time we were there. We were greeted by their dog Camila every morning. The place is very clean and had all the basics needed. It was a secluded private area, felt very safe and was very peaceful at night. Also you can see different types of birds and butterflies every morning, right in your backyard. Also there was hot water which was great.

We absolutely loved our stay! The location was perfect—close to a variety of tours, great places to eat, and local attractions. One of our favorite spots, El Salto (the rope swing), was just a 5-minute walk away! The space itself was cozy, comfortable, and very welcoming. We especially enjoyed spotting hummingbirds around the property and catching views of the volcano on clear days—such a treat! Everything about our stay was incredible. The only small note is that the place provides two body towels, which may be a bit limiting for longer stays. It’s also helpful to bring your own quick-dry towels for excursions, as the provided ones aren’t allowed outside the property. Otherwise, it was a fantastic experience and we’d definitely come back!

Great location right in the center of downtown La Fortuna! The area is very safe and the air conditioning was great because it is very hot. The host was very responsive and I highly recommend this stay!

Super Unterkunft für Ausflüge nähe La Fortuna, der Whirlpool war genial. Man kann verschiedene Vögel von der Terrasse sehen, wir hatten sogar das Glück einen Leguan zu sehen. Kann man nur weiter empfehlen.

We had an amazing stay at this Airbnb — the views were absolutely breathtaking, and waking up to the sound of capuchin monkeys in the mornings was a surreal and unforgettable experience. The space itself was clean, comfortable, and well thought out — everything we needed for a relaxing jungle escape. One thing to note: you’re in the jungle, and that comes with some trade-offs. We did have quite a few bugs find their way inside — at one point, hundreds gathered on a wall. It wasn’t ideal, but honestly not surprising given the location. Also, the walk down to the Airbnb includes a bit of a trek with stairs, so be prepared for a small hike in and out. That said, the peaceful setting, stunning nature, and wildlife made it all 100% worth it. If you’re looking for a real Costa Rican jungle experience with a touch of comfort and great scenery, this place delivers. Would absolutely recommend — just bring bug spray and good shoes!

Super recomendado, el apartamento es muy agradable y confortable. el baño es bellísimo.habia una pequeña cosa que arreglar y lo solucionaron súper rápido,mejor de lo que hubiera esperado y fueron más allá para hacernos sentir bien, un gesto que no olvidaremos.

Our time at Danta Santa was truly amazing ! We loved how private the location felt and how beautiful it was. The pictures looked exactly like the pictures and somehow in person it was more breathtaking! Although it rained a lot during our stay we didn’t mind because the Airbnb was truly our own oasis. We loved that we had the option to have the place fully opened or closed. The space was perfect for a couple trying to get away from a crowded city. We loved that everything was nearby, such as the restaurants and activities. Everything was 20 mins away or less. We would recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice, modern and cozy place to stay! We will definitely be retuning and booking Danta Santa.

Este apartamento es uno de los mejores que he encontrado en la Fortuna. La cama es amplia y confortable, el lugar tiene unas decoraciones increíbles, está en un lugar muy silencioso. El jacuzzi con agua caliente es perfecto. Me gustó mucho el 3l lugar. Regresaré!

Found our stay at the apartment comfortable and enjoyable. The place was spotlessly clean. The bedrooms were spacious and the mattresses comfortable as were the sofas in the living space. It was an ideal location for our base for the week, close to town and restaurants, but also perfect as a sanctuary from some spectacular rain and thunderstorms that would roll in. We never really used the kitchen for cooking but it had all the amenities. The shower had good water pressure and hot water if needed. Our hosts were very friendly and responsive to any questions. If we needed it, fresh towels and sheets were available as was a tidy and clean of the garbage and bathroom from the helpful lady who worked there. We stayed for just over a week and would happily return and recommend to others.

El alojamiento fue exactamente como estaba descrito. La zona es muy tranquila, perfecta para desconectarse del mundo y descansar. Estuve allí con mi familia y todos disfrutamos muchísimo. Las camas son súper cómodas y todo estaba impecablemente limpio. Sin duda, un lugar al que nos encantaría volver.

This was a great location for exploring La Fortuna. A short walk from everything. Quiet at night.

Die Unterkunft ist super zentral gelegen und bietet alles, was man braucht. Direkt vor der Tür gibt es einen Parkplatz, und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind gleich um die Ecke. Wir konnten sogar sehr früh einchecken, da es uns gesundheitlich nicht so gut ging – das war eine grosse Hilfe. Auch die flexible Verlängerung unseres Aufenthalts hat wunderbar geklappt. Veronika ist eine grossartige Gastgeberin und hat uns ihre Unterstützung bei Übersetzungen angeboten, als wir einen medizinischen Zwischenfall hatten. Vielen Dank für alles!

Impecable todo. El alojamiento era amplio, estaba todo muy limpio y la ubicación cercana al centro, restaurantes y supermercado me pareció excelente. Muy buena relación precio calidad. Recomiendo
