Cabin holiday rentals in Skeiða- og Gnúpverjahreppur

Heiðrún Sara’s cottage was our absolute favourite stay of all four places we rented in Iceland. It is cozy, private, charming, quiet, and a perfect home base when you’re enjoying day trips along the Golden Circle. It’s ideal for two people, as it is quite tiny with not a lot of space for luggage, although we made out just fine. We especially loved getting in the hot tub at the end of our hiking days. Heiðrún Sara was easy to communicate with and check in/check out was a breeze. Would totally stay in this little nook again!

Our family had a fab week at Inga’s cabin. It was the perfect base to explore the country from. We particularly enjoyed evenings in the hot tub gazing at the northern lights. The cabin had everything we needed and Inga was a helpful and responsive host. We would recommend her place 💯

Otrolig vistelse här! Väldigt bra service och fick alltid snabb hjälp när jag skrev om olika frågor. Smidig in och utcheckning. Väldigt fint område och perfekt att stanna här när man ska göra flera stopp på Gyllene Cirkel rutten. Bra solläge hela dagen också för morgonkaffet ute på altanen till after-hike på eftermiddagen😉 Tusen tack för bra vistelse, vi kommer att komma tillbaka!😍

Valla was a wonderful host. Her cabin is within nature and very cosy. Valla communicated extremely well to ensure we were comfortable and arrived safely and stress free. She gave us flexibility on arrival and departure. Would definitely recommend.

We had a wonderful stay and enjoyed exploring the area around the cabin. Iceland is beautiful. We would stay here again if we come back. Great communication from host! Thank you!

Très belle emplacement

Wir waren zu viert ( 2 Erwachsene und 2 Kinder) im April in dieser wunderschönen, gemütlichen Hütte. Schon beim ersten Öffnen der Tür haben wir uns gleich wie zu Hause gefühlt. Es war sehr ruhig und man hat viel Abstand zur nächsten Hütte. Unsere Töchter fanden vorallem den Wald vor der Hütte sehr schön zum spielen und verstecken. Wir konnten einige Ausflugstips und Restaurantempfehlungen von Bilgir nutzen und waren immer total begeistert. Von der Hütte haben wir uns jeden Tag einen anderen Ausflug vorgenommen...ein Auto braucht man aber auf jeden Fall. Die Zeit ging leider viel zu schnell vorbei und wir waren schon lange nicht mehr so traurig, dass ein Urlaub zu Ende geht. Danke Island und vielen Dank an Bilgir das wir an diesen besonderen Ort sein durften.

Diese Unterkunft ist traumhaft und idyllisch, mit viel Geschmack eingerichtet und sehr bequem. Nach einem langen Fahrt von Akureyri nach Süden wir sind einfach in einem Paradies gelandet-so hat auf uns die Unterkunft gewirkt! Versteckt zwischen Bäumen und viel Blumen , wunderschön ausgestattet und mit eine großartige Terrasse vorne ! Wir werden diese drei Nächte lange in Gedanken behalten! Eidur ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit und hat sofort geantwortet und ein paar gute Hinweise gegeben was wir noch sehen können. Wir waren sehr zufrieden und können nur dankbar sein und weiter empfehlen! Wirklich ein Paradies!

Die Hütte liegt nicht nur ruhig und abgelegen, sondern auch sehr nah an Gulfoss, Strokkur und (etwas weiter) Pingvellir. Brüarfoss und zwei kleinere Wasserfälle sind fußläufig entfernt. Das Highlight ist der eigene Hot Pot. Mit diesem gab es anfangs ein Problem, der Gastgeber kümmerte sich umgehend um Reparatur - eine halbe Stunde (!) nach unserer Meldung funktionierte er wieder.

Die Hütte ist wie im Märchen eingerichtet, sehr schön dekoriert und super gemütlich. Man merkt, dass Agnes das Haus mit Liebe pflegt. Alles ist super sauber und Verpflegung sowie skin care sind vorhanden. Man kann sich bei Agnes richtig was gönnen. Die Hütte liegt auf einem Hügel in der Nähe vom Geysir und Gullfoss - eine Super-Lage für einen Urlaub in Island. Der Nachteil ist die große Entfernung zum nächsten Supermarkt. Aber Agnes ist sehr vorsorglich: Der Kühlschrank war bereits gefüllt als wir ankamen und keiner von uns musste hungern. Auch die Küche war voll eingerichtet mit Gewürz, Öl, Lebensmittel im Vorrat und Küchengeräten. Die Kommunikation mit Agnes war auch großartig. Sie hat uns immer schnell geantwortet und uns schnell geholfen, wenn wir Probleme hatten.

We stayed for one week and loved it every day. The cabin has everything you need and the Jaccuzzi is a real bonus. Stock up your groceries in Reykjavik or Keflavik when you come via airplane. There are some really good restaurants within 20-30 min drive (we recommend Farmers Bistro in Fludir if you love mushrooms). Communication was really easy.

Logement très bien situé à proximité des principaux points d'intérêts du cercle d'or avec une vue magnifique. Nous recommandons !

Die Unterkunft war super sauber und wir haben uns gleich wohl gefühlt in dem kleinen Häuschen. Bei Problemen wird sich sofort gekümmert. :-)

Le lieu est très agréable et très calme. Il y faisait un peu froid mais nous sommes en Islande après tout :).

Endroit magnifique. Spécialement en hiver quand la neige recouvre tout autour de vous, et vous donne l'impression d'être seul au monde alors que vous profitez du bain chaud sur la terrasse du petit chalet.

Great stay! So much to see just around this place. the host was really responsive with all our questions about local stuff, and very flexible to accommodate our group with lots of kids. Stairs are quite steep, so upstairs is not recommended under 3yo. The outdoor hot tub was great, and temperature can be adjusted to exactly what you need. There is room for swimsuits and towels to dry. A few toddler toys, Villkatten for kids a little older. We highly recommend!

We had an amazing stay in this beautiful, peaceful, and charming place. Surrounded by nature, it offered the perfect setting for relaxation and quality time. The home is spacious, thoughtfully equipped, and ideal for shared cooking and cozy moments. Perfect for couples or groups of up to 6. We're truly grateful for this lovely house and the unforgettable memories we created here.💖✨

We love staying out of the way of crowds and traffic, so this was the perfect spot for us! Not too far from all the places we wanted to visit, and still close enough to Reykjavik for some city shopping! Thank you!!

Lovely clean spot! Perfect for exploring the golden circle!

We LOVED staying here! We booked 6 nights and it was a wonderful place to settle in and enjoy the sites on the Golden Circle. Katrín was wonderful, responding to most messages within a few minutes. She gave us great tips for restaurants and other things to do. Our favorite aspect of the house was it's bright and open living area with plentiful windows to enjoy the view. The kitchen was really well stocked. there were plenty of linens and towels. The Internet worked great. The living room and dining room lighting at night were a little dim compared to what we are used to, but this did make it easier for us to keep an eye out for northern lights. We had the privilege of seeing them for 3 of the 6 nights! There was no washer and dryer (clearly stated in the description), but the heated drying rack in the bathroom was really useful. The hot tub was wonderful. If you come in winter, you really do want 4WD. The roads leading up to the house were snow covered and slippery. Highly recommend!

Merci pour les instructions et pour l’aménagement. Nous avons passé 3 belles journées dans cette région, avons pu explorer depuis la cabane, avons profité le soir de l’environnement paisible. Adapté aux enfants! (Attention à l’escalier pour les plus petits). Magnifique séjour!

Alles war perfekt! Wir waren zu viert da und hatten mehr als genug Platz, da noch zwei Doppelbetten mehr dort waren. Das Haus ist gemütlich, hell, warm, der hot tub ist toll. Die Gegend ist perfekt. Sehr empfehlenswert! Wir empfehlen die Unterkunft zu 100% weiter :)
