Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Shinjuku

We enjoyed our stay at Yoko's place. Close to both subway and train stations. Very safe neighborhood even as we walked home at 11pm thru the back alley. We had little issue with locating the address but it is due to us not being familiar with Japan. Yoko responded right away when I messaged her and it was a smooth sailing after that. We would definitely rent her place in the future.

Kan is an incredible host and his place is lovely. The tiny home is filled with architectural details that create a beautiful and comfortable space. We were so grateful to Kan for making his tiny home a special place for us to spend our last leg of our honeymoon. The apartment is nestled in a quiet, residential neighborhood, which is ideal for taking a break from busy Tokyo. You’re near major transit lines and convenience stores, as well as a lovely park. Kan shared fantastic recommendations for breakfast and lunch nearby — and he was very accommodating to make our check in and out as seamless as possible. I’d happily return!

I honestly don’t know where to begin. Staying in Keiko’s home was truly one of the greatest honors of our time in Japan—it was a highlight of the entire trip. From the moment we walked through her door, we were immersed in Japanese culture. Keiko greeted us with warmth and kindness, making us feel immediately at home. She patiently guided us through everything, showing us how to use her space with care and respect. Her home is a reflection of her spirit—graceful, serene, and full of beauty. I was deeply moved and inspired by her presence and generosity. Being invited to take part in her traditional Japanese tea ceremony was an experience I will never forget. She took the time to teach us the rituals and meaning behind each step, explaining everything with such clarity and heart. The place is in a great location very close to Nishi Waseda station. The size of the apartment is relatively big for Tokyo and is very comfortable for a longer stay. Lots of restaurants, supermarket and shops nearby. Will definitely stay again!

I had a wonderful time at Shizuka's apartment in Shinjuku. The place is small but very functionally furnished and had everything I needed for my stay. Particularly noteworthy is the central location – in the middle of Tokyo and still quiet enough to relax well. Shizuka was very friendly, helpful and easily accessible. Check-in was straightforward, and I immediately felt comfortable. Would definitely come back and highly recommend the place!

Such a great find! The flat is stunning and looks exactly as described, spacious and very nicely designed and decorated. The area is also very vibrant, loads of restaurant and the host kindly provide a long list of places to go

Hiroki was super responsive and offered alternative routes to get there from each airport even after clearly communicating how to get there via transit.

Great place and the best interaction with the host! Extremely communicative and flexible. Had an amazing experience. It was a good space for a family of 5! The laundry and dryer along with the tide pods was a life saver and easy to use.

Unforgettable Stay – Absolutely Perfect! This Airbnb was truly outstanding and exceeded all expectations! Communication with the host was prompt, friendly, and incredibly helpful from the very beginning. They provided thoughtful local recommendations that led us to some of the best food and hidden gems in the area—experiences we never would have found on our own. The apartment itself was spotless, beautifully designed, and fully equipped with everything we needed. It was the perfect retreat after long days exploring, and the location couldn’t have been better—close to public transportation, restaurants, shops, and cultural sites. What really made this stay exceptional was the host. They were so kind, welcoming, and genuinely cared about our experience. Their hospitality made us feel not just like guests, but truly cared for. Taking a chance on a place to stay in another country is a gamble. But this place exceeded all expectations. We would not hesitate to stay here again!

Sho's flat is a perfectly located room in a neighbourhood which is fun to explore - tons to do, all within walking distance. The nearby temples/shrines are sublime. Take Sho's excellent food recommendations - all of which turned out to be exceptional; recommended walk to the gym/pool also great. (Within blocks, there is a restaurant-filled quarter - incredible variety.) The walks themselves are scenic, and the location convenient to virtually all of Tokyo. Sho was always kind, helpful and responsive. The room is a great place to crash...do bring earplugs, though, as you are at the mercy of the guests upstairs (who may not walk on tiptoe.) The character of the small room is that of a simple hotel - it is not very personal or apartment-like. The bathroom is comfortable, clean and functions well. Although the check-in process sounded quite elaborate, it ended up being easy. Choose this place for the location and exploring ...and for a good night's sleep, as the room is small and simple.

Hatago Ojima’s space was great! Very clean and cute. The WiFi was a bit spotty when I first arrived, but it was addressed fairly quickly. It is about a 5-7 minute walk from the subway station so it is very easy to get around. I would definitely stay again.

Beihoa's place was fantastic. The location is close to the Yamanote line, but not so close that it is noisy or crowded. There are lots of places to eat, grocery stores and 7-11s(3) in the neighborhood. We also found a Don Quiote near by...which we went to at 2 am thanks to jet lag. Beihao was very quick to respond and offered suggestions if we needed help. The Yamanote line is very easy to navigate and I strongly suggest a Pasmo or Suica card. The condo is located very close to Shinjuku and Shibuya...super fun places to visit. The condo is clean, full of light and big by Japanese standards. I would definitely return here!! Thank you Beihoa for helping to make our visit amazing!!! My son and I fell in love with Japan!❤️

I love this place. It’s in a quieter neighbourhood and the room is sizeable especially for the standards in Japan. Only thing is if you don’t like the noise coming from upstairs as the walls are a bit too thin, choose the top floor. But it’s only accessible by stairs. Train station is closed by, convenient.

It's a nice environment. I've had a small problem, and I'm still trying to solve it.
