3 Bed house in Hamnavoe Burra

JimRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We spent an amazing few days at Trish's place in Hamnavoe. The place has everything you need not only for holiday but to live, from a well-equipped kitchen, to washing facilities and plenty space. The internet connection is very good - quite enough for digital nomadism. Trish was also very attentive and kind, allowing us to check in early and leaving a generous welcome pack. Burra is a beautiful island, a bit of a hidden gem in Shetland, but not too far away from everywhere else you might want to visit. We would happily stay again.

The View - explore Shetland then relax in luxury

EdRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Would 100% recommend a stay at Rhoda’s beautiful house in Brae. We stayed here as a couple with our two boys aged 9 and 6. The accommodation was serene and spacious and we really felt lucky to have booked such a great place. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and the view out of the living room of Busta Voe was stunning. I’m not the best traveller away from home but I honestly did not feel like that here, everything we needed was provided and I really felt at home here. Rhoda was instantly contactable and helped with any queries we had. I would not hesitate to recommend this perfect house to anyone wanting to explore Shetland.

Lerwick home central to amenities

CarolRating, 5 stars1 week ago
I enjoyed my time with Doreen. Her home is very comfortable with a great bed and good size TV as well as all the amenities you would want. She is charming with lots of local information and ideas. I was quite impressed with her gardening skills in the harsher climate of Shetland. Although I had a car, the location is easily walkable to Lerwick town center and to a nearby excellent restaurant/coffee bar and Tesco. If walking, check out Clickimin Broch which is a couple blocks away. If there is any drawback, it might be that the room is upstairs which might not work for some but easy for most. I loved staying with Doreen and would do so again if I get back to Shetland.

Your own space in an historic stone built home.

JeanRating, 5 stars3 days ago
I admit I hadn’t looked at all the information before booking. At the time of booking last year I was just so delighted to find a pet friendly place at a very reasonable price for a solo traveller. I am absolutely delighted that I found Greenvale. Dave and Debbie are fabulous hosts. They gave such valuable information about places to explore and I felt I had my own personal weather forecasters. It’s so important to listen to, and appreciate people with local knowledge. I was grateful to have a comfortable place to relax, especially when waiting for the weather to change. I loved the mystery of breakfasts. They were a real bonus. Debbie is a great chef. I’d happily give 10 stars for breakfasts. My Border Terrier, Ella, was also made to feel very welcome. She and Broonie got on well. Greenvale is unique and I am so pleased I embraced everything about it. I have benefitted in mind and body from staying there. Thank you Dave and Debbie for making my stay so memorable.

North Ness House bed and breakfast ( Double Room )

Amanda was a fount of local and Shetland knowledge. She pandered to our whims without dropping her standards. Even when we came in after latenight folk concerts she was chatty and interested in us and what we had done and planned for us and gave good advice.

Elegant Luxury in a Twin Room "Skidbladnir"

BethRating, 5 stars5 days ago
Looking after Belmont House is an act of love from Martin. It is beautifully presented and the rooms are warm and comfortable. I was tempted to spend the day sitting in the drawing room and just watching the weather but there is plenty to do outside even when the weather is challenging. Martin was very tolerant of our large puppy. He produced substantial evening meals. In the morning we got detailed instructions on options of where to go and how to get there.

What a very nice experience for our first visit to Shetland! Very engaging couple, wonderful accommodations with a view of historical Lewrick, great homemade breakfast and location very convenient near waterfront and best places to visit. To top it off, we loved their Sheltie sheepdog to remind us of ours back home. We would love to come back. Thanks Jeff and Anona for a memorable stay!

En-suite Double Room, harbour View - Lerwick

Very good location, great view! Coming from the ferry by foot take the path along the shore (not throughLerwick as your navigation device may suggest) as Lerwick is pretty hilly! This way it is flat and easiest to find, too.

Stylish Georgian Double Room "Harald Fairhair"

JonRating, 5 stars10 months ago
We had a great two days at Belmont with Martin as a host. It felt more like visiting a friend than checking in at a hotel. The Belmont is converted to something like a small private hotel that takes only two or sometimes three parties. The first night he cooked dinner just for us. The second day we took the ofer for a guided tour of Unst after a great cooked breakfast. The evening again dinner with the other couple. Martin cooked a local specialty. The Belmont is a 250 years old house beautifully renovated. All the rooms had soul, with plenty of space. Do not expect a regular shower though. Here the only option was bathtubs. There are also nothing nearby, but if you want to go somewhere in the evenings (there is one pub on the island), you may ask Martin if he can drive you. We loved Belmont, Martin and Unst and would love to visit again.

I had a lovely stay at Amanda and Peter’s with my dad. We were visiting Shetland for work, and it was so lovely to have such a warm, welcoming home to come back to after work! It felt like coming home at the end of the day, with thoughtful touches From Amanda like turning on the heaters in our rooms before we came home. Breakfasts were delicious (would definitely recommend the cooked breakfasts, especially the sassermeat!) the snug area is ideal for evening relaxing or preparing a light dinner, which we did one evening. Bedrooms were cosy, and beds comfy and can’t forget to mention the beautiful view from the bedroom window! The location is great - we were even lucky enough to see the northern lights. Thank you Amanda and Peter for a great stay!
