Beachfront holiday rentals in Shad Bay

Beautiful house, incredible views from the house and just a short walk to the beach from the house. Lots of games for adults and kids. Very well equipped in terms of plates cutlery etc we did not see any wildlife but we know there were some outdoor nighttime critters because the Easter eggs we hid outdoors for the kids were almost all gone by morning!

Our stay at Terence Bay was incredible. The location is stunning—right on the beach with beautiful views of a lighthouse. My kids loved being able to climb on the rocks, go hiking along the seashore and even find sea glass right in the backyard! We couldn’t have asked for more and my family didn’t want our time to end! The property was spotless and even better than the pictures. Our two kids especially loved the bunk bed room. Falling asleep to the sound of the ocean was pure bliss. Danielle, our host, was fantastic—always helpful and attentive. You could tell that she genuinely cared about us having a great trip. She offered us tips and help when needed. We’ll definitely be recommending this spot to our friends and family.

We stayed at Mark's Place for two weeks of remote work and vacation and it was great! The location is just secluded enough to feel like you've gotten away but it's also an easy and pretty drive to Lunenburg for shopping and dining. We enjoyed watching the tides change from the living room couch and from the hot tub. Also, Mark's Place is fully stocked. It had every upscale item imaginable in the kitchen and each bathroom had its own set of towels, hairdryer, etc. It was also easy to communicate with Mark and his cleaning team and - for those who care - the WiFi was able to handle multiple laptops, phones and other devices without fail. As an added bonus, during our stay, we saw many different birds in the water and on the lawn, a deer family and a porcupine family.

we loved everything about the beach cottage! Everything is as described, with every detail taken care of! Sweet Ethel is a delight!! Easily the best Air BnB we have stayed in! Thank you so much Ethel for making our 10 day stay wonderful! we will be back!!!

Kyle’s place was fantastic and exactly as advertised. The ocean proximity and views from the front porch of our cottage was stunning. We really enjoyed the wood-fired hot tub and would stay again in a heartbeat.

I can't begin to explain the scerene beauty that this place Tania's place offers. Stunningly beautiful views and a sunrise that leaves you breathless. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful, and their amazing dogs made the whole place feel like home. We will definitely be back. If I could ever recommend somewhere to be near Halifax but out of this city this hidden gem is an absolute must!!!

What a beautiful cottage! Thomas was always quick to reply, and everything was well-organized and easy to find. We loved the stunning view and appreciated the complimentary bottle of wine. We had planned to spend more time at the beach and go for a swim, but the number of ticks in the long grass made that difficult. Other reviews mentioned swimming, so this might be a seasonal issue. That said, I really appreciated Thomas warning us about the ticks in advance. Overall, an amazing weekend!

At the Intersection of Stylish and Cozy. We can honestly say that everything here exceeded our expectations — the surroundings, the peace and quiet, and the home itself. The house is bright, cozy, inviting, warm. Being here just puts us in a happy mood. We enjoyed every moment of it.

What an Incredible Holiday! Just a few steps to a sandy beach and surf. The outdoor hot shower after surfing was amazing. There was so much to do we could not fit everything in so we will just have to go back for more. Jane and Cal are fabulous hosts. They are incredibly welcoming and kind. This is the place to stay on the eastern shore. Book early!!

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour. Le logement était très propre et décoré avec goût. Tout était fonctionnel et il y avait tout ce dont nous avions besoin. La cuisine est très bien équipée. Il y avait suffisamment de place pour s’asseoir à l’intérieur et à l’extérieur. Seul petit bémol, le nombre de serviettes dans les salles de bain était limité pour 6 personnes. Mais, heureusement, il y avait une laveuse et sécheuse. Nous avons donc, fait du lavage. La maison est très bien située face à la plage et la vue de patio et du spa est incomparable. Nous recommandons fortement !!

The home was cozy and beautiful. The host was very accommodating and let us do an early check-in and late check-out. The view from the dining room was spectacular. This home is uniquely placed for the best view of this waterfront. There are little signs in the home of things to do in the neighbourhood, places to eat at, and clear instructions on how to look after the home. The home is tastefully decorated and has nice artwork everywhere. I particularly liked the black and white florals in the living room, the lighthouse painted on wood and the Maud Lewis print.

The place was impeccably clean and organized. Obviously being 1 minute from a beautiful beach was awesome and the views were fantastic. 10/10 would stay at Mark's place again when we go back to visit family... And next time I'll be taking a few more surfing lessons!

Our family had a fantastic Christmas at Deanna’s. It looks exactly as advertised, and is just really comfortable. Deanna was very helpful and timely in responding to questions, prior to, and during our stay. She was very flexible and accommodating to meet our timing needs. Awesome location and view. The accommodation is great, well taken care of and great for a family stay. Will definitely stay here again if back in the area.

This house is extraordinary. The history, the decor, the comfort. The best stocked kitchen we have ever seen (plus an additional half kitchen). This may be minor, but they had lots of extras towels, face cloths and toilet paper. And the views - unbelievable! Alan's support as host was impeccable - as friendly and he was efficient. We will definitely return!

Raquel’s place, “Vista Del Mar,” is absolutely gorgeous!! The open concept of the main level allows for guests to dine and intermingle while enjoying the picturesque view of St. Margaret’s Bay. Raquel was quick to respond to messages and was a pleasure to talk to! A short scenic drive to Peggy’s Cove and Halifax. Would definitely recommend this spot to anyone travelling to Nova Scotia. Thank you Raquel for having our group at your place!

The house was amazing. Very remote and quiet. But only 30 minutes to busier locations with shopping, restaurants, etc. Within 10 minutes, RoseBay Bistro & Market and Dear Emma Pizza (incredible!) provide all you need otherwise. The beach is incredible. Sitting in the chairs at the edge of the beach, over the dunes, is the perfect spot for morning coffee or a happy hour cocktail! The house design is like a piece of art - the many levels and nooks make it a very unique experience. It is well furnished with all sorts of things you might want to enjoy your stay. Very thoughtful. We look forward to a return visit.

Alex and his house are amazing. I would give Alex 10 Stars out of 5 if I could. He was very accommodating and very responsive to us before, and during our stay. The house is well equipped throughout, including the kitchen to do everything you need. The view is out of this world and is like something from a movie. The rooms are spacious, the living areas are perfect to relax and look at the Atlantic Ocean whilst ships cruise past. Access to the beach was easy and the little peninsula has a fireplace that just completes the whole package. It is private and just what we needed. I highly recommend Alex and his spectacular house for anyone and everyone!
