House holiday rentals in São Martinho

The villa was beautiful - stunning location - and perfectly furnished. Lovely walk to Ponta do Sol village but the walk back is not for the faint hearted - Bolt is available :-) Whilst there were a few teething issues on arrival, Rita was super responsive and helpful in sorting any problems and our stay was great. It was a lovely stay in a stunning villa with amazing views and we would love to come back.

What a wonderful place to stay and for us perfect location to explore beautiful Madeira. 6 of us stayed for 1 week, the accommodation was perfect with various areas to spread out. We spent most of our evenings around the pool side, playing games and soaking up the views. The home has everything a family would need to enjoy your stay. Local shops, cafes and restaurants 10min walk up hill. Fully recommend if you are able to take a 1 day jeep tour of the island as Madeira has some spectacular scenery, valleys, mountains, villages and locations to explore. Contact with the host was effortless and always quick with responding. We loved our stay.

The house was a wonderful place for us and our family. Plenty of room and the kitchen was very well equipped. The view was spectacular and the pool and patio were an excellent spot to relax.

We really enjoyed the accommodation! (family of 6 people) This one is well located, a beautiful view, very peaceful and private place. It is very well equipped, heated pool (for €30/day), barbecue available, very spacious and clean. Which makes it a great value. We recommend it!

We had a lovely stay in a beautiful, pristine, peaceful home. Well equipped kitchen. Maria has thought of everything. The outside space was really great, plenty of space to enjoy the pool along with the outside kitchen BBQ. We walked to the botanical gardens which was 10 minutes away. Two small supermarkets and bakery 3 minutes walk from the house. We walked in Funchal several times and caught a taxi home. Lovely climate and beautiful surroundings.

Excellent host, very friendly

This was by far the best AirBnB we’ve ever stayed in. Antonio was so helpful from the very beginning (he sent lots of info ahead of our arrival), made sure we could check in in the morning after our early flight and welcomed us personally at his lovely house with pool and all amenities one could look for (specifically in the kitchen and bathrooms, where we found all types of equipment, shampoo, tissues etc). The beds were comfortable, the view was stunning. We were a group of 6 and enjoyed cooking together (particularly barbecuing outdoors), but the house offered many peaceful corners for each of us to relax in, too. We also really appreciated Antonio‘s recommendations for hikes and other things to do on the island. Thanks a lot for everything!!

The space was beautiful. We loved the decor and the large doors that brought brightness with a view of the beautiful courtyard with the pool. We were very well received by a very good host. What a nice touch! Susana also gave us several restaurant recommendations and the communication was excellent. It took 8 minutes to get to the city center. We found all the essentials to cook well. The accommodation was clean, but I can't ignore the shower. There was mold and personally, despite the scent that had been added, I found the smell of dampness and mold unpleasant. Everything else was impeccable!

We had a wonderful stay at Olesea's place. Everything was a good fit for the description of the place. The lower level was, as described, rather low as regards the ceiling height, tall people should keep that in mind. From Gaula we were very well connected to destinations in the east and north of the island.

We had an amazing time at this beautiful apartment. Every morning, waking up to the stunning views over Funchal and the ocean was a real treat. The apartment itself is stylishly designed and as someone who appreciates architecture and interior design, this apartement is a great choice.

Scott’s place is a great place, not only because the back porch gave an EXCELLENT view, but there was a bus stop right outside the gate! Waking up and coming back to the gorgeous ocean view made our stay worth every penny!

This chalet is absolutely beautiful! It was exactly as pictured - if not more lovely in person. It was peaceful, clean, and so cozy! We enjoyed making a fire in the fire place when it was cold and rainy. Ana was so responsive and let us check in early and was helpful giving directions and gave great recommendations for places to eat. Hot shower, comfortable bed, washing machine, full kitchen - everything you need! There are, however, some pros and cons with the location to consider. This is a remote property in a small village - which is what makes it so pretty, unique and peaceful. It’s also off the main road on the way toward Pico de Areiro which is great if you’re spending time in this location hiking, canyoning, etc. However, keep in mind it’s very remote. I really did not like driving back there late at night and was a little uneasy sleeping there at night because it felt so remote - but if that doesn’t bother you, I couldn’t recommend this place enough! We would stay again!

Responsive host, clean apartment, we recommend

We enjoyed our holidays in Madeira and especially the apartment in Campanàrio. The apartment is cozy, freshly renovated and equipped with everything you need. With a rental car, the location outside the capital is not a problem and you feel welcome in the village, in the bakery and in the shops. Luis is a perfect host, has an answer to all concerns and is still not intrusive. We highly recommend the accommodation for a couple.

Thank you to Daniela for hosting us so well in her beautiful apartment. She sent us the instructions beforehand and fortunately, because the apartment is not very easy to access (narrow road and steep climb). The apartment itself was very well equipped, with a superb view of the ocean and the mountain. We had a great stay there!

We absolutely LOVED our stay here! The house is extremely clean and matches the pictures perfectly. We even had freshly stocked groceries when we arrived which was a huge plus after 3 long flights. This location is so close to many delicious restaurants and the beach. We absolutely loved the pool and sun bed. 10/10 recommend!!! We already want to plan another trip back 🩷 THANK YOU!

The place was very nice. A little difficult to access, but the host was very responsive and friendly. Overall we had a nice stay!

The stay was amazing, Jose was very cooperative and helped when we needed things to be fixed or done. He helped us check in very smoothly despite our flight being delayed. He is an amazing host, and the house is incredible.

Carla was a wonderful host! She provided detailed instructions, was responsive to our questions, and the apartment was very well appointed. The kitchen had everything you could need! Enjoying coffee on the deck, overlooking the water, was an unforgettable experience.

Absolutely brilliant place! So comfortable and clean and it has everything you need.

Simone's house was lovely. Good location, great views and relatively quiet at night. Barking dogs may disturb some lighter sleepers! The kitchen was well equipped & the gift on arrival was appreciated. There is a small grocery store at the end of the street which sells basic provisions. We didn't hire a car but getting taxi/Uber was not an issue to get into Funchal. All in all a great little find.

We had a wonderful week in Madeira, which was mainly due to this great accommodation. We traveled as a group of five, four adults and our almost three-year-old son. Yes, the accommodation is very close to the airport's runway, but that didn't bother us at all. On the contrary, for our son it was an absolute highlight every time a plane arrived. The accommodation is super located in our view. A state-of-the-art supermarket is located directly opposite, where you can find everything your heart desires. The airport is only 3 minutes away; one of the few sandy beaches in Madeira (located in Machico) can be reached in just 5 minutes by car; Funchal is 20 minutes away; Pico de Arieiro is 30 minutes away. The hosts are super warm and there is nothing missing there. The accommodation actually looks exactly like the pictures, fantastically beautiful. All in all, a perfect 10 out of 10!

The best part about the apartment is the stunning view you have outside. Carlos was really helpful and even helped us with our luggage when we checked in. As mentioned, the house is a little older and you will find some bugs downstairs (the bedrooms are upstairs). Carlos provided us with some spray which we could put by the doors and which would keep the bugs outside. I would really recommend his place especially if you like to spend most of your day outside since you’ll have a lot of space to do so.
