Holiday rentals with a patio in Santa Cruz

We had three wonderful days at Blue Whale House. We arrived by car, which we returned immediately on arrival as we wanted to spend our last few days without one. The street is very busy and narrow, even parking for an hour was a bit more complicated directly at the house. The location is very good, even without a car there are great hiking opportunities and there is a bus line from the eastern tip (PR8) via the airport to Funchal. The apartment was very clean, we felt very comfortable and enjoyed spending the evenings there, we would definitely recommend it!

This is a beautiful place! The pictures did not do it justice. It was open and spacious, we felt relaxed the minute we stepped in! We traveled with our 3 adult children and we had plenty of space. There were a lot of extra touches-fresh flowers, a cooler to use, swim towels, complimentary cake and wine, and blankets for use out on the patio. The parking was convenient as we rented a car for travel on the island. We took the path to town and wish we would have done this earlier to enjoy the beach. I stayed four nights at the flat and very much enjoyed my stay. It is tastefully decorated, well appointed and remarkably quiet! The big floor cushion was a personal favourite to read at the end of the day. I was pleased to find everything I needed (including a few cooking basics like oil and salt, as well as laundry detergent, which is not always the case in some places). Took a few minutes to locate the washing machine. You will find it behind the door in the kitchen. Walking to Sé neighborhood, which I found to have the most interesting (and on a Sunday, open) restaurant options took about 20 minutes at a brisk pace, so a reasonable distance, but I was a bit discouraged at the hike back up the very steep hill at the end of long days, so I opted for the lazy solution of taking (cheap) Uber rides. Parking on the street is easy and so is accessing major roads to go East or West. Overall, a wonderful find that I recommend unreservedly.

We were welcomed immediately very friendly by Connie, who gave us great tips for the restaurants in the neighborhood and some fresh vegetables from the garden. Connie and Johnny are always available for any questions, yet you have total privacy. The view is amazing, day and night. All furniture is from the highest quality, fully equipped kitchen, a perfect bed and an awesome bath. Worth every cent, just book it and you will have a dream vacation!

This AirBnB provides a quiet place on a busy island. The city of Machico is ideal to start and find activities as well as a starting place for hikes. The building and terrace were ideal to take a rest from a busy day. The kitchen provides everything for a delicious meal. Last but not least, the host(s) were very kind and helpful!

We will be talking about the wonderful stay we had at Filip and Renata’s place for a long time to come. The space is perfect for a couple or small family. The bedrooms and bathroom are spacious, the kitchen is exceptionally well stocked (there’s even Tupperware so you can pack sandwiches for a hike), and the outside space is comfortable, quiet and beautiful. Now I know why many other reviewers wished they had stayed in this location for the whole of their Madeira travels! The location is excellent for exploring the island and returning home at night is easy, especially with a dedicated parking space. What really makes this place shine are the hosts, especially Filip who offered many suggestions and treated us to fresh bread and other goodies. He was so warm and kindhearted. This is a gem of a property; do not hesitate to book!

Cristina was a wonderful host, always available with helpful tips and recommendations. The apartment was very clean and tidy, furnished, arranged and equipped in the best of taste. Stunning view, very quiet, even if very near to the expressway, and because of that perfect located to get everywhere easy and quick. Restaurants of all kind available within short driving time. Overall - very advisable!

It was the most beautiful accommodation I’ve had since using Airbnb. Everything is spotless and clean, you feel like you’re the first person ever to stay there. The apartment has everything you need, and the products are high quality. Someone put a lot of love into this place, and you can really feel it. Highly recommended!

The villa was beautiful - stunning location - and perfectly furnished. Lovely walk to Ponta do Sol village but the walk back is not for the faint hearted - Bolt is available :-) Whilst there were a few teething issues on arrival, Rita was super responsive and helpful in sorting any problems and our stay was great. It was a lovely stay in a stunning villa with amazing views and we would love to come back.

We enjoyed our holidays in Madeira and especially the apartment in Campanàrio. The apartment is cozy, freshly renovated and equipped with everything you need. With a rental car, the location outside the capital is not a problem and you feel welcome in the village, in the bakery and in the shops. Luis is a perfect host, has an answer to all concerns and is still not intrusive. We highly recommend the accommodation for a couple.

Our stay at this Airbnb was absolutely perfect! We were so impressed by the peaceful and quiet location, which allowed for a truly relaxing getaway. The property itself was of exceptionally high quality and very well-furnished, making us feel right at home. We genuinely had everything we needed and more. The heated pool and whirlpool were a fantastic bonus, providing a luxurious touch. To top it all off, our host, Jorge, was incredibly responsive and friendly, making the entire experience seamless and enjoyable. We highly recommend this Airbnb!

This atypical accommodation on several floors is very beautiful and perfectly well furnished. We took advantage of the 3 outdoor spaces. Warm welcome with a nice touch on our arrival (flowers, wine, beer, water, chocolate). We were also well advised for our outings and restaurants. Note: Not easy for me to park properly in the parking space but it is possible to park in a car park down the street. We are delighted with our stay at Adriana's

Bernardo and his wife are very warm and helpful hosts who make you feel very welcome. I was even greeted with a typical Madeira cake and mangoes from their own tree. The terrace offers a beautiful view of the sea and the accommodation has everything you need. The house is a bit noisy, but if you are a light sleeper you can help yourself with earplugs. I would highly recommend the accommodation and would come back at any time.

Very nice apartment, well-equipped and well-located for visiting the island. Daniela's instructions allowed us to quickly take possession of the premises. The only small downside is the road, located at the bottom of the valley, very busy and noisy when you want to enjoy the terrace during the day.

The accommodation is very well located close to the general partners. A home that matches the photos and is very clean. Clara is very kind, she is responsive. Communication was fluid.

The apartment was is a quiet neighborhood and the view was exceptional. The communication with Vasco was easy and quick.

Gorgeous spacious apartment walkable to everything in downtown Funchal - restaurants, shopping the water, musicians in the restaurant area were so fun! (Not near the house). All of Funchal seems to have some construction especially behind this building but I suspect u can’t escape that anywhere in Funchal. Otherwise it was a fantastic apartment and would definitely rent there again. Hosts were wonderful

Can’t recommend enough. Clean, fantastic space, great location. Marina really helpful and always responsive. Well equipped kitchen with everything for meals in but equally a 10 minute drive into Funchal. The view from the apartment is beautiful and the location means everything is easily accessible. Supermarket across the road. We didn’t hire a car because the location was so great.

We had a lovely time at Robert‘s place. Robert lives in the same house and was really friendly - he gave us tips for hikes and even handed us some herbs from his garden for some infused water. The appartment was nicely furnished and had everything that was needed. The views from the terrace for breakfast are amazing too! :)
