Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Saltburn-by-the-Sea

I have stayed here a few times previously, this time with my wife and daughter (who was going to her 'Masters' graduation ceremony at Teesside University). Set in an equestrian centre, the surroundings are beautiful and peaceful, yet within a few minutes drive of Middlesbrough and Guisborough for shopping & restaurants , also with plenty of country walks , parks and forests in the locality. Not a long drive to plenty of 'tourist' locations, such as Whitby, Goathland (where 'Heartbeat' TV program was filmed), Thirsk (James Herriot museum) and the scenic North York Moors. The house was spotless (as usual) and has all the facilities we wanted for our week long stay plus the convenience of secure parking, practically at the front door. Any time I may be coming over to the area I would always check if 'Upsall' would be available for my accommodation, cannot recommend it higher then that!

What a wonderful weekend we have had. The property is lovely. Plenty of room for our family of 12 plus 3 dogs. The place itself is just beautiful quaint so many nooks with wee properties hidden. Our children loved the beach we did not travel we stayed put. We had amazing weather, tide in played in sea which as a small beach was safe, tide out we explored further along rock pools, crabbing, some exploring of rocks etc. amenities in area were great for us friendly folk great food at local pub. Breakfast great at small cafe near art gallery. As a family we have fallen in love with Staithes perfect for our wee family members and us to create happy memories. We loved The Photographers House such charming character. Our host was great stayed in touch with time we could arrive and leave . Answered questions quickly prior to stay am sure would have been available had we had any concerns…..

Wow! What a beautiful cottage in Staithes. The beds were super comfy, beautifully decorated throughout with everything needed for a self catering stay. The host David, was really friendly and met us on arrival to show us around the cottage. He even dropped off a pack of cards later in the day as we had forgotten ours! Stunning views on opening the lounge doors to hear the birds nesting in the cliffs and watch the tide coming in. We will definitely be staying again, soon hopefully! Thank you

Any less than 5* or a-maz-ing would be doing Jane and Crabapple Cottage a disservice. The neighbours were fabulous too. We had everything we could possibly want in the cottage and looong garden, and more, including the trampoline 😄 Jane was super responsive to questions I raised even when she was out with a friend and immediately set to finding a solution to our mini problem. Settees and bed were very comfortable and our dog was immediately relaxed in the property which was also really important to us. So many places to visit nearby and lots to do, we could have spent way more time there.

lovely setting, period house is what it is. The children loved the little bits of history like the writing block that they had learned bout in school. Easy to find, quality bedding very comfortable. We were staying for a wedding so didn't spend a lot of weekend there. Garden was great to sit out in. Welcome pack was a lovely treat, 😋 The homemade cake sustained us all whilst making up all the wedding flowers at Danby church nothing too much trouble for Trish, I asked for full length mirror and there was one provided. All round a pleasant stay

Lovely home, nice and spacious and had everything we needed for our stay. Jo was always very quick to respond to any messages and it was perfect for what we needed. Very clean, tidy and immaculately presented. Cannot fault anything whatsoever and would highly recommend. Within easy reach of lovely beeches. Will definitely book again once we’re up this way again. We enjoyed our very short stay at this property. The location was within a housing estate and was well kept. The house was homely and spacious. Handwash, towels, dishwasher tablets etc were supplied and these are great little touches. We would definitely book to come back if we were in the area again.

Jamie was a perfect host. The house was lovely and homely. Perfectly clean with all the appliances and amenities. ideally situated to visit Runswick, Whitby and Saltburn. Thank you for a five star stay and we hope to be back ASAP!

Absolutely stunning views from this lovely apartment. We stayed midweek and out of season and were blessed with good weather. The sitting room has fantastic views out to sea. The bedrooms have sea views too and the sunrise view is beautiful. The apartment is clean and peaceful - we heard no noise from any neighbours at all. The beds were comfy; plenty of storage space and all the kitchen equipment needed. The shower is powerful and hot water plentiful. The location is tremendous for food and drink. The pub is very close and welcoming and the food very good. We also ate at Fish Cottage and Estbek House - both fantastic. No shop in walking distance but a very good Lidl less than 10 minutes drive away. The highlights for us were the walks from right outside the door (Cleveland Way, Mulgrave Woods including castle) and the public transport (2 buses an hour in either direction from right outside). Parking space right across the road (designated). Strongly recommend!!

Our third visit to this delightful flat, in a perfect location for Newby Hall and the Himalayan Garden, where we were visiting their sculpture exhibitions (my husband Tom has three sculptures in each of these this summer). The accommodation is first rate, and it is always like coming home.

A few words would not do justice to the accomodation or the surrounding area. The apartment was great and had everything you needed We had a fantastic time visiting Whitby Scarborough,Robins Hood Bay, Gouthland Fantastic holiday, we will be back.

Ideal for the short stay we needed and was ground floor so was perfect for my mother who has mobility issues. The place and clean and spaciousious and had everything you would need. Host was very responsive.

This is our second trip to Whitby. This stay was slightly closer to the centre which was a huge bonus. another bonus was the parking. The flat was beautiful, exactly as it shows in the pictures, spacious, spotlessly clean with very comfortable furniture. All the extras were very much appreciated, tea, coffee, biscuits, good sized mugs, tea towels, washing up liquid, salt & pepper & not forgetting the wine! We cannot fault anything about our stay and should we visit again, this will be our first & possibly only choice of accommodation. Thankyou Val x

Gorgeous, stylish and comfortable flat in a great location for exploring the city. Everything has been thought about: the interior design, the kitchen equipment, the parking permits and the coffee pods, and everything was comfortable and stress free. Spotlessly clean, impeccable comms and a really friendly welcome. There is some road noise, so if you're not normally a city dweller, you could be disturbed. Wasn't a problem for us - highly recommend.

The flat is very cosy, bright, clean, modern, well decorated and spacious, with all the rquired facilities. Tory was very responsive and helpful. A perfect location to enjoy scarborough.

We had a lovely stay at Rebecca’s place in Whitby. The accommodation was in a fantastic location close to the harbour and to shops and restaurants. The accommodation facilities were excellent - a well-appointed kitchen and lovely bathroom and shower. The living room and bedrooms were very comfortable and cosy. Rebecca’s communication was excellent - really clear and helpful instructions to find the place and parking. She was helpful and responsive throughout. Highly recommended place to stay and fantastic host!

We loved our stay in Amanda's flat. It was very clean and tidy and well equipped with quality furnishings . The flat was very quiet . Paring was very easy and excellent to have. The flat is very well located and town is only a short walk away. We would definitely recommend this flat for a short stay in Whitby as Whitby proved to be larger than we appreciated and we realise there is more to see. Also, huge number of good bars and restaurants within easy reach. the sea view is also a huge plus. Only thing we think would improve the flat would be a few more lamps in the living room and bedrooms for ease of reading . Also, a soap tray in the en-suite bathroom would not go amiss. We are already considering booking again while we can.

Had a lovely stay right in the middle of Stokesley within walking distance to shops and restaurants and a short drive to some lovely walks

Second time visiting and we will be back again next year! The apartment is a home from home and has everything you could possibly need for a break away. Alison and Jon are great hosts and messaged prior to the visit with clear instructions and messaged again on the check in date with updates regarding the property. Thank you for such a lovely stay!

We enjoyed our stay here. Communication with Alex was spot on and she was very quick to respond to our questions. Parking is available outside the property by using the pass provided, but spaces are limited and we couldn’t get parked for our stay. We parked in the marina car park which was a 15 minute walk, at most. Dropped our bags off first then got the car parked before going out for a few drinks. Kitchen was spotless with enough for a self catering break. We ate out so didn’t use it. Tea and coffee, etc. provided as well as biscuits and crisps. Bed was very comfortable and bathroom adequate. Overall, very good accommodation and very reasonably priced. We’d stay again.

come for a short stay with my family and had an excellent experience all around ! I was especially surprised at the quality of the fit out. Almost unesasarily high quality which was fantastic. grohe bathroom fixtures, integrated Bosch combi microwave which must have cost over a grand just for a microwave. wine chiller (these cost a fortune most air bnbs just have a fridge) worktop was high quality resin or marble. solid wood beds with nice mattresses. even had decent size LG TV's in each room as opposed to the customary air BnB tiny ghettotronic 5000 TV's. my 2 year old kept saying "can we stay at different house, I like different house more than our house" would defiantly come again for longer next time !

Such a great apartment. We were both really happy with everything provided. We struggled to find anything wrong. I would be more than happy to stay here again.

Ken’s apartment contained everything you’d use at home .it was extremely clean and well presented with comfy beds .I’ve stayed in these apartments before and would definitely stay again .
