Family-friendly holiday rentals in Saint Joseph

We have stayed at "Windswept" twice prior to this visit. Mandy has always been a very good communicator regarding our bookings. The villa is spacious with a beautiful private garden with a plunge-pool. All the bedrooms have airconditioning which is an essential as the nights in Barbados are very warm. It's a small thing but there was a decent supply of hangers in every wardrobe! Sugar Hill is a short drive from Holetown with its shops and restaurants. Once again we had a fantastic holiday and would certainly want to stay here again if we return to Barbados.

This was my first time staying at an AirBnB in Barbados after several visits to either family members or hotels while visiting the island. My entire family (wife, 2 kids and my mom) were all highly impressed as were friends and family who visited us. The pool was perfect, the beach was amazing and listening to the waves on the balcony became a way for all of us to find peace and quiet. The security was friendly and informative. Our host Jameela was an ANGEL! We have many travel struggles getting to the island and she was always responsive, supportive and helpful. The cleaning lady was so friendly and did an awesome job. We will definitely be coming back the next time we are back in Barbados!!!

Great Apartment in the beautiful Sugar Hill Resort. Aparment was exactly as per the photos. Fully Equiped with extra towels, beach towels, kitchen equipment, dishwasher/washing machine/dryer etc We love the location, albeit we always hire a car and i feel you need one staying here if you want to visit the beach and restaurants on a daily basis Would 100% recommend this Apartment. Special thanks to the Property Manager Kavell who was always messaging to make sure everything was ok or if we needed anything. Brillinant Stay on what is an amazing island

We really enjoyed our stay at The Palisades-6A. The house was spacious and clean, and we didn't lack for anything. We appreciated having beach towels, that the property was gated, and that we were able to use the bbq! The location is a short drive from Oistins and the St. Lawrence Gap, and a short walk from Enterprise Beach, which we enjoyed. We would definitely stay here again when we come back to Barbados!

Enjoyable stay. Met fantastic people sharing the same block. Nice to hang around the pool and chill. Beach is 2 mins walk so easy to get to and the sea is a stunning turquoise blue.

What can we say “what a beautiful home you have “we can’t wait to come back, we loved everything above it , thank you for sharing , the decor is such a delight and the complex is so beautiful the pool the clubhouse the tennis and of course the icing on the cake the padel .

The apartment was clean, cosy and in walking distance of St. Lawrence Gap. The host were welcoming and gave you your privacy even though they live on the compound. The price is also very affordable and my apartment is perfect for a couple or a single person. I will definitely return.

Lex’s place had it all. There is a beautiful beach right outside the back door, it’s walkable to a grocery store, several cafes and bars and the Friday fish fry. We also could grab busses right outside the house to get to Bridgetown for more beaches and restaurants. Walking around felt safe (well lit) but of course be aware of your surroundings and the cars wiz by so be aware of where the sidewalks are. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of space. We loved how there were lots of towels and pillows! The only thing to prepare for is that the second bedroom gets traffic noise so maybe bring earplugs if you’re sleeping in that room.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Paolo was extremely helpful and friendly with great recommendations. The house is on a cute gated street across the street from a great surfing spot. Walking distance to Miami Beach which is a pleasant beach with a ton of shade trees. Oistins local fishing village is close enough to walk. For more lively area a quick jaunt to Rockley beach by car. For us a quiet walk to the surf and beach was ideal. Paolo must be one of the friendliest hosts we’ve had! The house was spacious and serene. Kitchen had all the necessary items. Can’t wait to return!

We had a wonderful months stay in Elizabeth's cottage. We felt at home as soon as we stepped inside. The kitchen was very well equipped. Super comfy beds and lovely bed linen and plenty of towels. It was extremely clean and we loved the outside space. The locals were so friendly and we always felt safe. Elizabeth's Dad, Tommy was near if needed and Heather did a wonderful job cleaning each week. Had some great chats ! Missing the sunshine and having breakfast on the veranda. You can see the sea from the cottage and be swimming in 5 minutes! There is a great fish market at the end of the road where the fish is so fresh. We visited last year and stayed in a hotel but staying in a cottage for us was so much more enjoyable. We did hire a car as we wanted to explore the island but it's not a necessity. Thank you, Elizabeth, would love to return in the future.

My stay was very comfortable, with all the comforts of home. I loved the location and the bus was just a few feet away.. I look forward to my return. The hosts were very accommodating. I truly enjoyed my stay. Thanks for having me

Quiet, beautiful spot on the south end of the island. Great, private view of the beach and mangroves from sprawling gardens. Occasional monkey visitors. Practical kitchen with needed equipment. Good ac in bedrooms. Giant sliding door for the main room. Strong WiFi in office and most of house and immediate deck (occasionally unstable but think that’s island issue). 15 min to grocery store. Most higher end restaurants and resort beaches on northwest coast 30 min+. Short walk down to beach - rough not swimmable but beautiful. Host was the most helpful we’ve ever had with Airbnb. Helped with all kinds of activity / reservations (for a nominal fee).

My daughter & I greatly enjoyed our stay at Peter’s airbnd. We loved the flowers, monkeys, and the peaceful atmosphere. Peter is a wonderful host. He had a driver pick us up from the airport. We gave him a grocery list and he bought our initial items which made it much easier for us (of course we reimbursed him). Then he made our first dinner for us and answered all our questions. We loved the movie nights- we watched movies sitting in an old pickup with movie projected on wall. He even made us popcorn. The best part was the pool onsite available for the other guests in the compound.

We had a fabulous 2 week stay at La Canoa. With 6 of us there was plenty of space and we loved hanging out in the garden and on the veranda. We especially enjoyed the wildlife in the garden and the direct beach access. The kitchen was great, fully equipped and clean. Chris was a great host and swiftly responded to any questions we had. Having never visited Barbados before we could not have asked for more. La Cabane, the closest restaurant to La Canoa, serves the best food in a perfect location. (walking distance) We loved being by the harbour and rum distillery, there was something quite unique about this location. I would recommend hiring a car if you are staying here although we used the buses, we also explored further afield to the East and South coast Thank you Chris for providing such a wonderful place to stay in Barbados.

Great village in a tranquil location. Amazing terrace, very good equipped, clean villa with everything you need. Great value, just a 5 km away from Heywood beach or Nikki Beach. Just remember to have a car for moving around the island. Faith was very helpfull. Thank you once again.

Lena`s place is a very comfortable modern home with all the amenities including a large garden and a very nice pool. The bedrooms have aircon and the beds are very comfortable. It is in a local community and well situated to access all parts of the island. We found the local people extremely friendly. Although the bus services are supposed to be really good, I would say that a rental car is a must.

What a wonderful vacation house in Cattlewash. So lovely to fall asleep to the waves. You can see the ocean from both bedrooms and the nice front pouch. The pool is so nice to have and is about 5 ft deep. Very convenient to have laundry as well. Round rock and beach access is just across the road, maybe a 3 minute walk. One night the ice cream truck drove straight up the driveway to serve us! The only thing I would say to be aware of is that there are millipedes in the general area and they do wander into the house so bring some bug spray. Absolutely would stay again. Thank you!

Brian and Kimberley are lovely hosts and made us feel very welcome and checked in with us to make sure we were happy. The house is lovely, it’s in a fairly quiet neighbourhood with a lot of greenery surrounding it and close to everything. It is a little dated and doesn’t have air con downstairs in the open plan living room/kitchen which meant we hardly used it as it could get real hot at a certain time of day. The house entertainment was quite poor/non existent. Only one small tv in the whole house- in the living room, which again was dated and had lines running through it. Overall it was a comfortable stay and I would book again.

As we had stayed in Vuemont before we knew the location. The villa was clean and comfortable, but a few scatter cushion would have been helpful. Great deck, very breezy and shady, which is great, but only 2 lounging chairs, not a problem for us. It is probably the best Villa we have stayed in. The house manager was very responsive and the cleaner was very thorough and on time. The kitchen was fully equipped for all our needs, we self cater nearly all our meals. The local supermarkets have all you need at reasonable prices (for Barbados!). There was a brand new dishwasher, which is rare in Barbados and we looked after it, by adding salt and a little rinse aid, but rinse aid is hard to come by in Barbados, so you might want to bring some with you. Remember the water is 'hard' so needs all the help it can get! You will need a car but some of the best beaches are only a 5 minute drive down the hills. Will be returning to have our winter sunshine fix.

Richard is a super host, he’s communication was exceptional. The space is to view for, a view of the beach and only 7 minutes drive to Sandy Lane and the shops of Holetown. Book this and treat yourself to peace and tranquility.

My family and I had a fantastic stay . The place was just as described in the pictures and the host was wonderful and responsive . It was a peaceful getaway yet near to supermarket a small plaza , food eateries ,banks and a gestation also close to transportation . My overall rating is 10 stars . We will most definitely be back. Me, my husband and another couple stayed at Terrance’s apartament and we felt really satisfied with the place, the location and the services provided. Terrance went a step further and made sure that a brand new hair dryer was available for us, when I asked about having one as it wasn’t listed on the amenities list. The flat was clean and felt fresh. Well decorated and well equipped. We have had a laundry dryer, big fridge freezer and really good air condition units, that worked perfectly 👌 Terrance was quick to respond to my messages and even texted me after arriving, asking if the journey and check in went well. We have appreciated his hospitality and would definitely recommend to others. Thank you 🥰
