Antonija & Zdravko were brilliant hosts, very welcoming. They made arrival/checkout very easy and were on hand if we needed anything. We stayed at their beautiful stone house in Veli Rat for 1 week. Its set back from the sea (which is a 1 minute stroll away) and surrounded by authentic Croatian gardens and village houses. We loved having our own little terrace with outside grill to enjoy - perfect for pasta dinners and card games. The apartment was well equipped and very clean - Although the building is very old Antonija & Zdravko have taken great care to refurbish inside in a modern and tasteful way. Perfect for a relaxing holiday away from the bustle of mainland Croatia!

The reception has been very good and also the availability. Very charming apartment in a quiet village and surrounded by silence. A few minutes drive from the most beautiful beach of the island and the lighthouse, where the colors of the sea will leave you speechless. Experience to be repeated for us who love the tranquility and the simple things.

Zdravko, Antonija and her parents really made us feel welcome. We came during heavy rain and Zdravko helped us carry our bags to the apartment which is really nice. It is a stone house newly refurbished so it is very comfortable and clean. There is a separate kitchen with everything you need for cooking. The apartment is located some 50 meters from the sea but not the beach although you can swim there and beautiful beaches are all around and nearby. House is in the old center of the small village of Veli Rat near the local church, post office, restaurant and grocery shop just steps away. The island is really beautiful but the northern part we liked the most.

The description of the property was correct. Location was great. Veli Rat is a nice little place with really good pizzas in the Pizzeria Galeb! :-) At night we never had problems with noise. Our tip: On the jetty by the sea and watch the stars!

We LOVED staying at House Sakarun. Bozo was totally helpful via email and text, and his family was totally helpful in person. The house is in an amazing location on an amazing island, and it is beautifully maintained with excellent amenities. We wish we could've stayed longer and would love to come back some day.

Dugi Otok is a beautiful island and Bozo's house is really a nice place to stay. Enjoy!

Very nice and very quiet location. We loved it! You cound hear the birds and the whole island is very nice. For those who love to barbeque, all provided apart from what you want to eat! Bozo is very quick and helpful, if you need something. Great place to stay!

The owner gave us a nice welcome despite the language barrier. He speaks Italian and German. It still remains accessible. Apartment outdated but consistent with pictures and clean. Beautiful location with a dock for the boat.

The apptm is located in an idyllic bay, the landscape is beautiful and you can enjoy it from the big terrace. The apptm is functional and it has the basic you need for a sea vacation. We were traveling with kids and they could move around the house and garden freely without any problems.We enjoyed discovering the many beaches and bay of the island.

The house is situated in nice, peaceful surroundings, 20 min walk to Sakarun and 10 min walk to market/restaurant. It’s in good location if you have bicycles as the Veli Rat lighthouse with it’s beautiful beaches and all nearby settlements are easy to reach. The apartment is exactly as described, the bathroom is on the very small side, the furnishings are a bit outdated but it is all compensated with the large terrace and great sea view.

Although the location is just what we were after, we had very poor communication with the host. We struggled to find the apartment , no house no on website and the locals did not recognise apartment name or host name. We walked around the village looking for a house that matched the picture. We were not in the apartment we had booked on air bnb, but possibly in a studio above the property, and we asked for compensation on expensive rental, but had no response.

Excellent stay. The apartment was clean, cozy and beautiful. The garden was even more beautiful. The wifi worked well. Location was perfect. Market, restaurant and Marina were a super short walk down the road. Bicycle rental available at the marina nearby, if you do not have a car. Also, 3 minute walk to bus station. I highly recommend!

The place looks as nice as on the pictures. There is all you need. Wifi is good. There is tv for the kids. Marko and his mother are friendly and helpfull. Only issue we had was the double booking they made by their mistake so our original SAT to SAT trip had to become SUN to SUN. On Sundays though ferry from Zadar departs at 18.00 so we came to Veli Rat after 20.00 and lost 1 whole afternoon due to this.

The excellent and timely reception. Very nice apartment, functional, clean, almost new furniture; offers everything you need, from the air conditioning, hair dryer, barbecue, indoor and outdoor shower; large outdoor area, beautiful, comfortable, ideal for maintenance equipment (for example, we had scuba gear) and to have lunch. Place comfortable car, a few meters from the sea, from the bar, shop etc.

The apartment is in a very quiet area. The view is beautiful and there is an access to the sea front of the house. The apartment is comfortable, spacious and clean. It is a pity that we could not eat on the terrace of the apartment (there is that the living room furniture: coffee table and armchairs) and only on the common terrace which is less shady. There is no washing machine and it is very unfortunate especially that there is a slot for. We did very well and was greeted our requests were taken into account (find fish, the wi-fi which did not work, ...). Our stay was very enjoyable.

First off, visit Dugi otok, visit Veli Rat. It is a beautiful, peaceful summer haven. It has the best beaches in Croatia. We were welcomed by Lucia's grandfather, an old gentleman who has a funny little anectode for every situation, respects your privacy, and shows willingness to help if help is needed. The apartment is cosy with a really good kitchen area if you are into cooking (we were!). Also, sunrise and sunset from the terrace - exceptional.

On our arrival we were welcomed by Lucia's Grandpa with self-made drinks. He even prepared some self-caught fish on the last day of our stay. The apartment offered everything we needed - directly at the sea!! We absolutely enjoyed our stay at Lucias appartment and we would be pleased to stay at this apartment the next time on dugi otok.

We enjoyed staying here, although it is quite a basic place. It's a nice location by the water, and Lucia's grandfather met us and was really friendly to us. The bathroom smells quite damp, it is pretty small, and there was no washing up liquid, but we had a lovely time.
