Places to stay in Theewaterskloof
Willow Cottage (Pet Friendly) has access to the whole pear farm and is on the banks of the largest dam in the Western Cape. Your stay also includes a private dam and picnic area to relax at. We are neighbours to Theewater Sports Club where one can sail, swim, fish and boat and close by are mountain biking/ 4x4 trails, botanical walks and restaurants. We are 2kms from Villiersdorp and a short drive accesses all surrounding towns. You can request single night stays. Also see De Rust Fig Cottage
The cottages are well equipped with a cosy kitchen cum dining / lounge area that has a very comfortable day bed with under bed for extra guests (more suited to one person or two children). It is equipped with a fridge/ freezer, one plate induction stove, microwave, small convection oven and outside barbecue facilities with a complimentary stack of wood (should last three cooking sessions). The bedroom is spacious and comfortable, with block out curtains to make sure you sleep well, and can wake up to heated towels in the en-suite bathroom with tub and shower. Many attractions are close by, such as the only Smokehouse (tours and picnics available) in the valley, wine and beer tasting, an alpaca farm, golf club, sailing and boating, Franschhoek, Greyton, Hermanus are a short distance away, and much more... We are near to the main road that feeds the town, so it can be a bit noisy during peak times when us farmers are busy ferrying staff and produce. End February through April is harvest time when it is busiest. Very quiet at night and on weekends when the frogs start singing.
Deli's, a Smokehouse, the sports club, golf club, art galleries, wine and beer tasting, tractor museum and more
  • Cosy little place on the road to Villiers. Quick driving distance from a picturesque private damn. Ideal for partners.

  • A very nice retreat spot. The flat was superbly kitted out, with a good braai, a wood pile for our use, tea, coffee, milk (even soy milk), and dog treats for our dog. The best part was having the farm available for walking and bird spotting, and the dam nearby too. The road is a little bit noisy during the day but it didn't bother us, and it's quiet at night.

  • Great place to unwind

  • Perfect place for if you need a place to stay close to all the activities around or if you have a Wedding close by. Easy check-in system without problems and such good value for money! Bed was amazing! Everything was just easy and comfortable.

  • Very nice , clean home ,quiet, relaxing and lovely picnic area with a braai and dam area .Near to the shops and surrounding farms

  • A lovely little breakaway. The pear dam truly is a special place. The orchards are something to see. Jon-Jon has taken everything into consideration for anyone to be as comfortable as possible. Great communicator and always willing to help.

    Kevin2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • I gifted my parents a three night break at Jon-Jon’s cottage. The unit is well appointed for two adults and as stated, at a push two small children. The bed is very comfortable and the unit is equipped with excellent linen. There were some nice touches such as milk (both dairy & soya), coffee, both instant & plunger, tea, 2 x rusks, spices, etc as well as providing decent cutting knives which as an avid cook is always lovey! The unit is also very well located being about 2 km from Villiersdorp and close to the local attractions - Theewaterskloof Dam, Theewaters Sports Club (only open on weekends, though) the Charcuterie (closed currently due to a fire) and is not far from Franschoek. With no TV, it was exactly what my parents were looking for to spend a relaxing few days. Jon-Jon is a great host albeit at a distance - all communication was via SMS, and once my parents had left He contacted my folks about leaving some items behind, and after enquiring where they live, he has made an arrangement to meet up next Friday to hand them over - another wonderful touch! All in all, it was a very pleasant few days spent at De Rust Willow Cottage and my parents would have no hesitation in recommending a stay at De Rust Willow Cottage!

    Kim2020-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Jon-Jon's! It was so peaceful and beautiful. My dog loved the freedom of walking in the orchard and running into the damn. And I loved the quiet. A fantastic place to hang out. Also, the picnic basket from ashack was fantastic! Amazing wine and cheese, definitely a must. Jon-Jon was a spectacular host, he's incredibly thoughtful of his guests and goes above and beyond

Welcome to a South African Yurt getaway! Yurts are part of some of the most unique weekend escapes in the UK, Europe and other parts of the world - and now Southern Yurts has brought this memorable getaway experience to the Overberg! Stay in the comfort of your own Yurt: enjoy a local wine while watching the sun set over the nature conservancy, a walk through our Secret Forest, or a candle-lit shower under the stars.
Porcupine Hills Guest Farm forms part of the Diepklowe Nature Conservancy, located 16 km from Botrivier along the Van der Stel Pass. This stunning location forms the perfect setting to experience a getaway in a Yurt. Nestled on a sloping hill that overlooks the raw beauty of the nature conservancy, the North-facing yurt is positioned for the perfect sunrise and sunset. Walk out onto a landing that has been built out of a 90-year old stone wall, and into your distinctive kitchen with fireplace. A couple of meters away you can enjoy the privacy and comfort of a hot shower in our beautiful and enclosed bathroom unit. Nothing about this accommodation is ordinary - if you're looking for an original and comfortable stay in breathtaking nature, the Yurt will provide it all. Yurt Facilities: The Yurt (bedroom) is equipped with all bedding and towels, spare blankets, a blow-fan/heater, a hot water bottle for cooler evenings, a chest of drawers, binoculars and wildlife/tree books, other reading material and playing cards. Charging points are located next to the bed. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the essentials: tea, coffee, sugar, olive oil, salt and pepper. As a self-catering kitchen, it is equipped with a kettle, toaster, small fridge, double gas cooking plate, fireplace, and includes crockery, pots, utensils and cutlery. We supply firewood, matches and firelighters (more wood can be bought at R40 per crate if needed). The bathroom has a gas-geyser hot water shower, with toilet and basin. Shampoo, soaps, hand-lotion and toilet paper is provided, as well as your towels/hand towels. DOGS: As animal lovers and owners, we are pet-friendly (this must be pre-arranged/stated upon booking), but we do charge an additional cleaning fee of R100 per pet per stay, payable in cash upon arrival. This covers the unavoidable extra cleaning that our dear furry friends bring to the site. Pets are accepted on the condition that you bring their own beds, and that pets do not sleep on the bed, couches or cushions.
  • We stayed at the Yurt for two nights over our anniversary, and we couldn't have asked for a more unique, comfortable and fun experience. Tobin checked us in and was very charming and helpful. Before we knew it, it was just the two of us in our own little secluded grove. The Yurt itself is such a fabulous space to lounge around in during the morning and late afternoon, with the hot tub and kitchen area offering alternate spaces to hide from the hot sun. We swam in the dam each day, braaied, listened to music and caught up on some much needed serenity. When we got restless, we headed out for some delightful expeditions around the farm. The glass pyramid was a surreal and awesome thing to come across in the secret forest walk! For people who don't handle heat so well we would suggest autumn or spring, but we didn't mind. We had everything we could have wanted right there, surrounded by thoughtful touches to the decor and birdsong. We can't wait to return when the fruit trees are a little bigger! Thanks to our terrific hosts for making this a memorable relationship milestone for us!

    Ric2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This magical place completely exceeded our expectations. Tobin and Kate were very accommodating and are both such nice people. If you are looking for a beautiful and private getaway, this is the place!

    Kayla2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Wow, what a magical 2 nights we had. The yurt is so beautifully kitted our, and the splash pool/hot tub was a blessing on the hot days. All amenities were available at the yurt, we braai’d both nights under the Milky Way. Be prepared for serious R&R - there is no cell reception and you’re surrounded by the most beautiful nature. Thanks for a wonderful two nights Kate and Tobin!

    Jessica2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing, a must for 2 nights.

    Jeron2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing experience! It looks even better than in the pictures. The yurt is fantastic, well equipped, private, very comfortable and cosy. The views from the Yurt are stunning. The are a few lovely hikes to do on the farm as well. My only suggestion would be that you bring some insect repellent for the evenings as there are a few bugs out at night, but this is minor and can be expected when you are out in nature.

    Dinell2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay in the Yurt was one of our favourite weekend getaways to date. The space is thoughtfully set up, ensuring that you're fully equipped, while still feeling far away in nature. Kate and Tobin are great hosts and have really created a special space.

    Caitlin2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Kate and Tobin's yurt is an absolutely magical experience – even better than the pictures! Absolute tranquillity and Kate and Tobin go the extra mile with excellent communication and thoughtful touches and extras that make this stay that bit more special. The hot tub is incredible and we absolutely recommend exploring the farm's trails. We'll be back!

    Nicole2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • A spectacular adventure awaits at the Southern Yurts. Everything about this place was above and beyond our expectations and created a very special and unique weekend away.

  • We spent three weeks in SA travelling between Joburg and Cape Town and trying to do it all by public transport. That petered out by Port Elizabeth but on the plus side, having our own car meant we could easily choose to stay at Emily's lovely house. I really wanted to stay in a traditional Dutch Cape house and Emily's totally fitted the bill. Huge and gorgeous room, beautifully furnished complete with a four poster bed and our own stoop to sit on in the sun both in the evening over a cold beer (fridge provided) - and eat our breakfast (muesli, biscuits, tea/coffee also provided) the next day. Very hospitable family, very glad we stayed. Highly recommend.

    Kim2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Very easy stop over while traveling between Barrydale & Vineyards in Franschhoek. Super simple with tiny plates/bowls/mugs/cups/spoons and micro/fridge/kettle. Breakfast in room of muesli, ginger cookies & orange juice. We loved their 3 kitties!

    Kelly2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely space, stylish and clean. Very nice for a short stay.

    Anja2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely space and bed. Only stayed for one night and got there late. Emily was very hospitable and made us very welcome.

    Jeraint2020-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • Emily is very nice and friendly hostess. My feeling was, I'm a part of her family. It is also great advantage in her house that in the price breakfast is included. The room and bathroom are in a specific style equipped. It corresponds with the old house. The corner with fridge and coffee making facilities was useful. The bed, built in specific style, was very comfortable.

    Jiri2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great hospitality! Would definitely recommend a stay. Wish we stayed longer to enjoy the kayaks.

When was the last time you stayed in an underground house in a forest next to a bubbling stream? Hobbit hollow is an underground hobbit house on the banks of the famous Botrivier surrounded by forest glades, shaded picnic spots, and river front walks.
  • What a gem this was !! This is one of the cutest places that I have been too. It has everything that you need, and it is very well designed. We were only two but a family of 4 our a couple of friends could easily share the space. We were fortunate that the river was flowing and it was great listening to the river ! I swam in the river pool more than once and it was bliss ! I would come stay here again ! Julian and James are both very friendly and very helpful. This is a great place for both summer and winter - with an amazing fireplace inside.

    Ernesta2020-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • Our children were excited for weeks ahead of our trip to the underground hobbit house, and the experience didn't disappoint! The accommodation is rustic but without being shabby, with luxury bedclothes, a dishwasher and beautiful finishes. The riverside garden area is very special with numerous different places to sit and relax under the trees and in shade, perfect for a hot day. We explored the forest and wandered round the farm and felt very welcome. And always a bonus to find such a lovely place that welcomes well-behaved dogs too. The cottage is perfect for a small family but would also make a very secluded and romantic get-away spot for a couple too.

    Katherine2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great stay in this hidden gem. A stream runs right past the entertainment area below the front door, leading to a lovely setting for a braai and outside (covered) dinner. The inside is just what you'd hope for, with all immunities and comfort that not even Bilbo had. We wish we could have stayed longer!

    Jono & Hannah2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Hobbit Hollow is the most delightful little cottage. It is built almost underground right next to the river. There is one bedroom with a king sized bed, and then there are two single beds in the lounge area , where a curtain can be pulled across for privacy if needed. One bathroom with a door into it from each bedroom. The kitchen is small but well equipped, and outside there's a cosy stoep, then steps leading down to the dining area which is under cover right next to the river and there is also a Weber braai. The river is fast flowing and a stretch in front of the cottage has been almost dammed off to make a swimming pool.Across the other side of the river, there's a lovely walk through the woods, We really loved it.

  • Elreda is the quintessential host. We came for the Hemel en Aarde marathon and arrived late on the Friday evening and she very graciously cooked us a delicious dinner as we were missing breakfast the next morning. The farm is beautiful and the school house was perfect for our stay. Special mention regarding the crisp, Egyptian Cotton linen, which was a godsend. We will definitely be back.

  • A really wonderful weekend spent in the special corner of the world Elreda has made. Will hold on to the feeling of contentment siting on the stoep, eating a world-class breakfast and sharing stories...

    Megan2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful and quiet place in the nature. Elreda is a very lovely person. Be good to her.

  • Absolutely wonderful. Elreda is incredible. Her food is delicious and everything was very calm and beautiful. Really enjoyed the dams and walking around the farm. Will be back!

  • Elreda’s place is the kind of place where you feel at home, you come for the place and you stay for Elreda, she’s a wonderful person, and she give you all the energy and love you need to go further! She’s the grand mother you would have had (I don’t know your grand mother but believe me)

  • An unusual and beautiful old house, lovingly restored, with many interesting and very special details and objects. Wonderful breakfast and welcoming host. Attention to detail. Certainly far enough from the madding crowd: I can't remember having had such a solid and restorative sleep anywhere else for a short stay. Thank you, Elreda!

    Catherine2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely old farm house along a country road to relax and leave behind the buzz of the mother city Cape Town. The next town is a few miles away but Elreda who is the perfect host prepares a hearty home cooked dinner if you wish. Great breakfast. We had to push ourselves to leave the breakfast table and get back on the road again.

    Konrad2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Elreda's place is the perfect getaway. We made a last minute reservation and she made us feel so welcome. It was a great way to end our holiday. She is an extraordinary woman with an extraordinary place.

  • Little paradise! We had a wonderful stay at Dassie Chalet it was comfortable, clean, private and so peaceful a true respite from the city. The little pool and Dam were a welcoming sight after the beautiful walks/hikes on the farm.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Dassie Cottage. We loved the tranquility and beautiful natural scenery. This nature reserve is conserving a wonderful slice of renosterveld, a highly endangered vegetation type, so it is a rare pleasure to be able to explore this type of landscape.

    Eduard2019-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect peaceful weekend walking in the mountains and on the farm, birdwatching at the dam and staying in the lovely Caracal cottage with it`s indoor fireplace (perfect for a potjie in bad weather) and small plunge pool next to the outside sheltered braai area.

    Geoff2019-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • when visiting as a couple it’s the perfect place to find yourselves and each other again. Loved everyone second of my stay and will do again soon

    Rezia2019-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Our beautiful cabin was perfect for our getaway. The dam is really spectacular and we loved our own little fire pit.

    Hannah2019-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Had a beautiful stay in one of the river cottages. The hosts are lovely, the farm is stunning and there is plenty to see and do. The cottage offered us everything we needed and the braai area was the perfect spot to sit and relax. The small plunge pool and the dam look like they would be great in summer! Will definitly be back.

    Lana2018-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • The place was exactly what we were hoping for: a relaxing and quiet break away from the city where we could sit under the stars while having a nice braai in the bush. The room was clean and had everything you need for a self catering unit. The hiking trails in the area was also a great way get in touch with nature and enjoy stunning views of the surrounding landscapes.

Lovely, Holiday home, located on the Gloria Cove Estate, on the Theewaterkloof Dam. If you are looking for a unique experience in a beautiful natural area and would like to experience life in an off-grid / echo friendly house we welcome you to join us. Our house offers something for everyone - ranging from energizing adventures to relaxation.
Reconnect next to the indoor fire or relax on the private deck overlooking the dam and take in all Mother Nature has to offer. You can expect a quiet country escape; this house is ideal for summer and winter getaways. NO BACHELOR/BACHELORETTE PARTIES allowed. Other things to note: The house is completely of the grid in the sense that we make use of solar panels and batteries for all our electrical needs so you will have no worries experiencing any load shedding! The house gets water directly from the dam so guests are recommended not to drink from the taps (although using the water for brushing teeth, washing, cooking, etc. is fine) and even though it goes through many filters, it still has a slightly brown colour. We recommend you bring your own drinking water but it is safe to use for cooking and washing. Bedding and bathroom towels will be provided for all bedrooms and on the two landing / loft beds, guests just need to bring their own swimming towels and wood. Seeing that we are completely disconnected from Eskom, you will need to use electricity wisely. For example the use of hairdryers and straighteners are not recommended but can be used if need be as they use a lot of power. We have 10 solar panels on the roof which provides more than enough power to the entire household during daytime and we also have proper batteries that get charged during daylight / sunshine hours for all your electrical needs during the night. As a backup, we also have a gas / petrol generator connected to the electrical system which can charge the batteries to 100% in +- 2hours in case you run out of electricity. (The estate manager will be able to start this for you during your stay if need be). We also have two gas-operated geysers / hot water systems that generate immediate hot water for showers and washing dishes. A Boat launch / entry area is available on the estate if you would like to bring your own boat. No slipway, so a 4x4 is recommended for launching your own boat. Boats can be moored at the jetty during your stay but can also be pulled up on the shore in the area clearly marked. No parking of cars and trailers at water's edge - once boat has been launched, boat and trailer need to be moved into the trailer park. You can comfortably accommodate 11 guests in 4 bedrooms as well as a landing / loft area upstairs with 2 single beds. The house consist of 4 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms (2 in-suite and 2 not en-suite). The house has an open-plan kitchen that is well equipped for self-catering & includes an electric oven, gas stove, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher & washing machine. We also have a second living room area with a television. We have aluminum stackable shutters throughout the house for your security and also serves as blinds / curtains. The covered L-shaped patio area can be accessed from all angles of the house, all of which have stackable aluminum doors that open up directly onto the patio. On the patio you will find a covered braai/barbeque area and plenty of space for socialising while enjoying the magnificent view of the dam and surrounding mountains. There is direct access to the dam, which is approximately 100m away. There is one fireplace on the main kitchen / living area, please just bring your own wood. A fire extinguisher is located in cupboard in pantry room in case of an emergency inside the house. This estate is well maintained, has an estate manager and is set in farmland. The Estate is quiet and spacious and has lots of open land to enjoy. The house has an alarm with armed response. There is an access-controlled gate to enter the property. Your cell phone number will be used to enter and exit the gate. Your cell phone number will be added on the day of your arrival. This holiday home has lots of space for friends and families to celebrate together. The view over the Theewaterskloof dam is spectacular in all seasons. The area is great for mountain biking, skiing/sailing (own boat required) (all necessary certificates/documents need to be in place), walking, enjoying nature, simply relaxing in the comfort of this spacious house and safe for children to ride around on bicycles. The Theewaterskloof dam is right in front of you and there is sailing, fishing and water sports available.
Our home is located in Overberg District Municipality, Western Cape, South Africa. Theewaterskloof, Western Cape, South Africa
  • Carel’s place is stunning... so well styled and comfortable! It was perfect for a large group to relax! Great braai area and indoor fireplace! Second lounge room with TV. The deck has a lovely view and is a great place to sit and enjoy! The dam was lovely for a swim. Walking down there is rocky and dry and not that pleasant. The closest nice town is franschoek which is a 40min drive. The wine farms in the area were closed early on Saturday and there are not many of them. Overall a great stay! Thanks

Our holiday home is place you can escape to for some rest and relaxation. The home is completely off the grid. We rely completely on solar panels, hence electricity should be used wisely and sparingly especially in the winter months or during a rainy day. We prefer for you to provide your own towels, however we can supply towels on request. Please bring your own towels for swimming in the dam. Hot water is from a gas geyser. Garage is not accessible during the stay.

UnderHill Farm is a private olive farm, close to Cape Town, yet completely private, away from public roads and nestled between two streams. The farm house is rustic yet modern, with two en suite bedrooms and loft area with modern kitchen, undercover braai area, pool, olive grove and large garden.
The house oozes character having been completely build from recycled items from renovated properties in Cape Town. From the antique mahogany doors leading to the main bedroom to the balcony railing made from wattle wood from the farm, the property strives to minimize its foot print and to reuse recycle and renew. There is a rugby sized front lawn, and oak and poplar forests along the stream banks for shade and cool spots in summer.
Its farm country! Apart from the very occasional car driving along the van der Stell pass in the distance, there is no noise except for the birds, bees, and the occasional cow mooing across the stream. The silence is only matched by the stars on a clear night, and picnic blankets are provided to lie in the middle of the field or olive grove at night and watch the milky way.
  • A real little haven set in beautiful trees. The pool is divine, beds comfortable, bathrooms very nice. There are other cottages right close by, but you don't see your neighbour's. Our dogs had a ball in the gardens (which are fenced in and safe) and on walks through the forrest. We loved the up-cycling of building materials, what a fun & clever idea. Beautiful easy getaway from Cape Town for the weekend.

As self-catering holiday home in the beautiful Western Cape, Faraway House is a fusion of opulence and comfort. The stately manor stands on a working-farm estate – olive, fig and pomegranate – on the foothills of Villiersdorp’s Stettynsberg mountain. The grounds are home to abundant birdlife, and Cape leopard and caracal are seen by a few.
Lazy days in the privacy of the estate can be interchanged with short outings to attractions nearby, or day trips to some of South Africa’s most popular tourism hubs: Franschhoek (25-minute drive) Greyton (50-minute drive) Hermanus (50-minute drive) Paarl (60-minute drive) Stellenbosch (60-minute drive) Cape Town (75-minute drive to the airport; 90-minute drive to the city centre)
  • We throughly enjoyed our weekend at Faraway Estate for my wife 30th birthday celebration. We had 17 people in attendance and everyone was comfortable and relaxed. Helmare was fantastic and always quick to assist. We will definitely be back.

  • A majestic homestead on a fruit farm only 6 km from Villiersdorp and a half hour scenic drive from Franschhoek. Excellent modern and well appointed accommodation for a large family or group of friends with a superb kitchen, a walk in cold room and abundant catering equipment. We stayed for 16 days and would happily have stayed longer. We will hopefully have the opportunity to visit again.

Stay in the original pre 1820’s homestead on Boesmansrug farm. A working apple, pear and persimmon farm in Vyeboom, which lies between Villiersdorp and Elgin on the upper reaches of Theewaterskloof dam. Guests will have access to a tennis court, swimming pool (drought dependent), a beautiful English garden and the farm dam. Meals can be provided by prior arrangement.
  • An extraordinary house in an extraordinary location. Our extended family had a perfect vacation here. The house is only 20-35 minutes from Franschoek, Bot River, Elgin, and other wine locations. The property is secluded and proved a wonderful spot for all of us to relax and explore. We all want to return soon!

  • Lucy's house was so much more than we expected from the secret garden to the pool and braai area not to mention the breathe taking views of horses and rose gardens. Her communication was amazing and she gave us excellent suggestions for events happening in the area. The house is beautiful and was beyond expectations. Thank you Lucy! We will hopefully be back again.

  • Incredibly historic farmstead where you can relax in the quietness and serenity of the farm surrounded by beautiful gardens, the use of a tennis court and pool...not to mention the braai area overlooking the pool. Lovely to watch the horses in the paddock, just so tranquil. Lucy was quick to respond to our questions and her hospitality in ensuring all our needs were met was outstanding. We will definitely be going back to Boesmansrug.

  • Absolutely fantastic experience from booking the property online to our moment of departure. Bronwyn was a fantastic host and nothing was too much for her. The property was breathtaking both inside / outside as well as the views. Gardens were beautifully manicured, furnishings well thought out, amenities in perfect working order. can highly recommend and will be recommending to friends / family! Cannot thank you enough for making my dad's 70th birthday week end away so extraordinarily special!

  • A visit at Gloria farm is like reading a good book. At first we were a little apprehensive. The route there is not easy, the location is slightly far off....but hour by hour the place grows on you. The uniqueness, the character of the place unfolds. At the end you feel so sad to leave that you can hardly bear that you have reached the end. We were 3 families at Gloria farm (age 3 to 71) for 4 days and truly recommend it. 30 min from a day trip to Franshoek and 30 min from one of the most amazing adventure experiences ever - cape canopy - we can highly recommend a visit. We fell in love with the place and confident you will too.

  • We had a lovely relaxing stay at the Manor house with more than enough space for our party of 10. The old farm house is very charming with the best stoep (patio) for long lingering afternoons of relaxing or reading a book. There was so much space for the kids to run and explore. The swing under the massive tree and the trampoline were a total hit. Great rides out from the farm house alongside the dam which were very special. You’re spoilt for choice with different areas to have big sit down meals with the entire family, adding to the special time together. I would recommend bringing your own water-sport equipment to enjoy on the dam which is just a little walk down from the house, lots of fun for the whole family. Just watch the gusty wind if you have little kids on boards, it can get pretty strong, pretty quick.

  • A wonderful place, beautiful accommodation, fully supplied kitchen (everything you could need and more), comfy beds and great towels. I celebrated my 21st birthday here with friends and family and it was beyond magical. The staff at Gloria farm are helpful, very quick in their admin and extremely accommodating. I couldn't have chosen a better place to spend my special day. Would highly recommend, especially for large groups.
