Cozy converted artists’ studio, tucked in the hills at the end of a country road. Open the French door to views of a sprawling garden and rolling fields, alight with fireflies in the spring and bursting with color in the fall. Warm yourself by the wood burning stove after winter fun or unwind with a local microbrew by the fire pit, listening to the Whippoorwills on a summer evening. Beautiful in all seasons, this modern, comfy cottage is the perfect place to get away from it all.
This spacious studio has a new, Tuft & Needle (OEKO-TEX, GreenGuard Gold, and CertiPUR-US certified) queen-sized bed, living area with wood burning stove, kitchen and dining area (table seats four), and separate bathroom with a shower stall. (Complimentary toxin-free soap, shampoo, and conditioner are provided.) The couch pulls out to a full-sized bed. The space is best-suited for two people, but could sleep three comfortably. Please note, we do not provide a television, although streaming services can be accessed via WiFi if you bring your own device. The kitchen is well-stocked with a two-burner cooktop (but no oven), small fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, tea kettle, pots and pans, plates, bowls, glassware, silverware, and cooking utensils. Organic, fair-trade coffee, tea, and half-in half are ready for your use. We use only non-toxic cleaning products. You'll have lots of privacy as the studio is a good distance (~30 yards) from the main house, which is blocked from view by a row of lilac bushes. There are high ceilings and lots of windows with views of the garden and the valley. Walk out your door to the lovely garden and enjoy the hammock in our stand of mature apple trees. Our country road is great for short walks (past stone walls and pastures), and there are beautiful wooded trails for walking or snow-shoeing just a quarter-mile down the road. We recommend four-wheel drive vehicles for anyone visiting in winter: you must take several dirt roads and navigate a driveway that is steep and long to get to the cottage. We take reservations during the dreaded mud season (as the ground thaws and the dirt roads get rutty in late March and April), but suggest four-wheel drive (again) and an adventurous spirit. For more photos, look for us on Instagram @tunbridgecottage.
We are five minutes from the village of Tunbridge, VT, home of the country's oldest World's Fair (!) and a general store that sells delicious maple creamees. South Royalton (and the Vermont Law School) is a 10-minute drive and offers the best swimming holes along the White River, a wonderful co-op for groceries, organic, farm-fresh produce, Vermont cheeses, beer and wine (including local craft brews); yummy pastries and specialty, house-roasted coffee at First Branch Coffee; and the beloved Worthy Burger restaurant and bar. The charming village of Woodstock is 35 minutes away and Quechee, with its gorge, Simon Pearce, and antique mall is 30 minutes. Easy access to I-89 is about 15 minutes away. Other attractions: - Tastings and live music at Brocklebank Craft Brewing (20 minutes) - Strafford Nordic Center (20 minutes) - Woodstock, VT: quaint, walkable village with shops, restaurants, Billings Farm, Mount Tom, Nordic Center, and more (35 minutes) - Simon Pearce Flagship Shop and Restaurant (30 minutes) - Baking classes at King Arthur Flour (40 minutes) - Dartmouth College and Hanover, NH (40 minutes) - Skiing/Snowboarding at Suicide Six (35 minutes), Killington/Pico (1 hour), or Sugarbush (1 hr 15 mins) - Mountain biking trails - Long Trail / Appalachian Trail - Vermont Cheese Trail - Vermont Brewery Tour
  • Was a blast, great area

    Gabriel2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place is wonderful - cozy, remote, and clean. We truly felt like we were escaping the city, and felt right at home. Kate and Sean were super responsive to our questions, and recommended some great snowshoeing trails right near their property. They provided great suggestions for things to do and places to eat - go to The Worthy Burger! I would come back in a heartbeat - it was such a lovely experience.

    Rachel2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect spot for a cozy weekend getaway to unplug! Great little space, just enough for what you need. Lots of books and plenty of natural light. I absolutely recommend this spot!

    Courtney2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Loved our little Vermont getaway and stay at Kate's place! Cottage was cozy, yet modern and had lovely eco-friendly touches! Beautiful with the snow covering all the trees and surrounding forest, felt very peaceful. Kate was a great host and provided us with plenty of recommendations for places to eat and things to do. Definitely would book again next time we visit Vermont!

    Lauren2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our weekend at Kate and Sean's cottage. It was totally clean and outfitted well, very comfortable and quiet, lots of interesting books. Sadly, there was not much snow for snowshoeing but the dirt roads and fields were great for walking and the wood stove made it cozy. Beautiful, quiet area - fields, woods, a few cows - and S Royalton is nearby with some good food and a market. Kate and Sean were responsive and helpful and we hope to be back!

    Brad2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Kate's place is a wonderful escape, and still close enough to so many quintessential Vermont activities. It is obvious that Kate takes pride in her cottage, and we thoroughly enjoyed staying. The only regret is we couldn't stay longer!

    Nicholas2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage was the coziest escape from the real world. We came to celebrate our anniversary and it was everything we could have asked for and more!

    Jailene2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second stay at Kate’s cabin and once again we had an amazing time. So cozy and we had everything we needed. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to stay in the area!

This small cabin is built upon the spring that provides the main home with water. It is light and airy inside. The cabin has no electricity or bathroom. So it is seasonal , although I can provide a space heater. The bathroom is in the main house.
Located in the original Spring House the property once boasted a sulpher spring that attracted visitors from throughout New England. The spring was destroyed in a flood but the memories live on
First is the covered bridge leading to the road to the property.
  • Highly recommended especially if u enjoy quiet, scenic stays. Will stay again, Bob was a very helpful host.

    Julia2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • The stay was simply amazing. I definitely recommend Bob's place for anybody who wants to enjoy the area. Bob was a fantastic host who genuinely cares about his guests. We really enjoyed our discussions around the lovely fireplace! The cabin was great with a terrific view on the mountains; we were lucky that it snowed the day after we came so we enjoyed the great view of the beautiful white cover. The last day was super cold, but Bob was super nice and prepared a room for us in the main house. We have just left but already thinking of coming back in Spring!

    Tarik2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • The house was so quaint and cozy. Really nice space. Fire kept us real warm. Will be back to Vermont again!

  • Bob was super hospitable and hosted us at his cozy house in a beautiful, hilly part of Vermont that felt like a winter wonderland. Had a great breakfast with him that he treated us too over a great conversation about everything under the sun. Would definitely stay again next time I’m in the area.

    Erich2019-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • Very peaceful, wonderful stay in the cabin. Bob was a fantastic host, and even put a heater in the cabin with a electric blanket so I’d stay warm. Better than expected! Don’t miss it!

    Debra2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • You can expect to be impressed by the beautiful views. The warm hospitality from bob and the cute little cabin.

  • Bob's cabin is beautiful! It does get a little cold at night but Bob is extremely accommodating with a space heater, heated blankets, and many extra blankets! Bob as a host was so kind and welcoming and ensured we had everything we needed! I would recommend to anyone to stay here!

Our lovely home is situated in the center of Vermont. We're a 3-min drive/10-min walk from the village, with amenities including Chandler Center for the Arts, fine restaurants, Gifford Hospital, and an Amtrak station serving VT to DC via NYC. Located on a dead-end street with a bubbling brook off the back yard, we offer a private country respite close to a classic Vermont village, near skiing, mountain biking, craft breweries, colleges and more.
We are a casual, friendly household, with two dogs (Australian shepherd Otis and collie/elkhound mix Mabel) and two cats (Manx Cayenne and Egyptian Mau/Bengal mix Jerry Lee) on the premises. This room is available for short or long-term stays. Please check our other, pet-free room that is available for short-term stays at: www.airbnb.com/rooms/31758817 or https://airbnb.com/h/whimsy-room-central-vermont - or search on Airbnb for "A WHIMSICAL RETREAT AT THE WAYWARD FLAMINGO."
The Chandler Center for the Arts, located in Randolph Village, is an historic, 575-seat performing arts space, offering 25-plus performances a year in music, theater, dance, and comedy. A regionally renowned Northern Thai restaurant, fine locavore bistro, and comfy coffee house are located just off the village center, as is the Montague Golf Club, Vermont's oldest golf course and one of its finest, open to the public from May through October. Randolph is also a mecca for road and mountain bicyclists and hikers, with an extensive trail network running throughout the region. Other recreational opportunities, including Vermont's acclaimed downhill, cross-country, and back-country skiing sites, are dotted in easing driving distance throughout the region. The state capitol is located half an hour north in Montpelier and four major academic institutions - Norwich University, Dartmouth College, Vermont Technical College, and Vermont Law School - are within easy driving distance.
  • Amazing stopover for a ski weekend! Tom & Anne are extremely hospitable and the space was perfect. The room was quiet and clean, and the coffee and breakfast snack offerings were a great touch. Highly recommended!

  • A great location for Randolph area activities. Easy check-in and a comfortable space to spend the evening. An excellent value.

  • Wonderful place for a ski trip!

    Jan2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • I have stayed twice at Tom & Anne's place, and both times the whole experience was 5-star, with the understanding it is a room, not a hotel, and a quiet country/village experience. I was helped enormously in my stay by both hosts, and getting to be friends with their animals was frosting on the cake. I doubt there is a resource there which approaches the value that they are able and willing to provide.

    Lisa2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • I only stayed for a night but the bedroom was extremely clean and comfortable. Great location and easy to get to as well.

    Micah2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Tom and Anne are indeed SUPER hosts. If you have friends or relatives in the Randolph área, these rooms are a godsend way for them to accommodate your visits. If you are looking for a chance to explore Randolph, which is a rewarding experience (worth return visits), this is a very high quality pied-a-terre to do that from.

Located in one of the best neighborhoods in central Vermont; minutes from downtown Randolph and exit 4 off Interstate 89. The space is private and 5-star rated for cleanliness with convenience of kitchenette, newly renovated bathroom, large living room and comfortable bedroom that sleeps as many as 6-guests.
Self check-in with keypad opens into a spacious living room with welcome message that includes house information. Relax here on the soft sectional couch with 2 reclining chairs and warm-up by the Vermont Casting Vigilant wood stove or eat at the dining table while watching television. The connecting kitchenette includes a sink, food preparation area, fridge, two burner stove top, Keurig coffee machine, microwave and toaster oven. Please enjoy complimentary water in 5.1cuft refrigerator-freezer and Green Mountain Coffee Roasters for a tasteful morning. Adjacent to the kitchen is the newly renovated bathroom. Featured is a luxurious rain shower panel with hand-held and 8 body jets. Finally, the bedroom has a new full-size memory foam bed and two twin beds (bunk bed). A second TV is positioned over the Ethan Allen bureau at the foot of the bed. Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video & Youtube TV streaming services are included to help wind-down or play a game of darts or drum. Make yourself at home. We do have one dog and two kids who wake up at 6:30 and play. They try to be quiet, but an occasional outdoor voice while inside or loud foot-steps may wake a light sleeper. You will have to consider this as part of the experience. The bonus is that you won't sleep in by accident.
Nestled on Crab Apple Ridge, less than 1-mile off Route 12. Views east with lots of apple trees. There are only 10 other houses, so it's a very quiet and relaxing.

  • I had a great stay here while skiing at Sugarbush. The drive to Sugarbush is 45-60 min depending on the route taken. The bed was very comfortable, and I enjoyed the oatmeal breakfast that was offered. The area is quiet with a few local places to eat. It was nice to get a good night's sleep before a long day of skiing. I enjoyed my stay at Tom & Anne's.

    Christine2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We only stayed at Tom & Anne's place for one night but we really enjoyed the time we were there. Anne was more then welcoming even though we arrived a little late. The room was very clean, with a comfortable bed and wan and cozy even though it was -10f outside.

This is an old 1840's farmhouse authentically restored and made into an apt. So the space is your own! It sits in a farming valley and was the original Sprague homestead.
  • This is a quaint farm house with much charm. Perfect for your VT experience. Marcia even had fresh farm eggs waiting for us on our arrival. OJ, coffee & condiments too is a plus. There is even a new dishwasher which came in handy after cooking a large family breakfast. All of the beds were comfortable with soft sheets & extra blankets available. Don’t forget to bring your own hairdryer there are plenty of outlets. We would highly recommend this gem if you are looking for the VT experience and a break from electronics. Thanks for being a wonderful host Marcia.

  • This little country house feels like it is in its own private valley. Mornings outside with a coffee were very peaceful. Early runs brought you through cornfields and sheep. We were attending a cool wedding in Randolph and shooting up to the Warren/Sugarbush area too. Both were easy to get to as 89 is right there. Burlington was also easy to get to(or fly in from). The place is ready for a small group or family. It's simple, clean, low tech and no frills(no wifi, little cell service-twitter loads slowly, but you don't need it!). The unit is its sequestered part of a house. You come and go as you please and in our case, we never saw the host(even though she seemed really cool). We only rented the one room, but we had a friend was in a jam and was stranded. We asked Marcia if they could stay the night and she was very easy about it. Vermonters have chosen a certain rural life and you can feel it. The landscape is full of intention. There is great food, good attitudes, and lots of green around. Have fun! VT is amazing!

    Miles2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful location, especially at sunset... a bit out of the way, but that worked for us. The beds were incredibly comfortable, which was so appreciated after a long trip of not so comfortable beds at other Air BnBs! No frills on this place, but it's comfortable, home-y, and Marcia was easy to work with. Also, my husband enjoyed the fresh eggs in the morning!

Enjoy a step back in time to the early 19th century with a stay at the Parsonage Guest Suite. The newly renovated space, where the resident minister once welcomed visitors, combines historic charm with contemporary comfort. The spacious, light-filled suite, with its original wide pine floorboards, is furnished with period pieces, including an elegant queen-sized canopy bed. It has a private porch entrance, bath and full laundry, a custom-built kitchenette, and ample closet space.
You can relax in the warmth of the suite’s flickering soapstone fireplace, or follow meandering Gilead Brook with a stroll along the scenic country road that shares its name. The Parsonage is surrounded by long-established perennial flower gardens and stone walls “laid to attract a minister’s wife” when it was built in 1826. Visitors can even attend Sunday morning services that are still held from Memorial Day to Labor Day at nearby Old Christ Church (1824) with its wooden box pews and simple whitewashed beauty. A stay at the Parsonage Guest Suite provides opportunities for authentic experiences in all four-season. Hiking, biking, snow-shoeing, and cross-country skiing are available right outside the door and in nearby recreational centers. Some of Vermont's most popular downhill ski areas - Stowe, Killington, Sugarbush, Suicide Six, and Mad River - are an hour or less drive away. Central Vermont is a region that combines rural beauty with a rich cultural scene. It is also a hotbed of the farm-to-table movement. The Parsonage’s central location and easy highway access make it a perfect base for exploring Vermont’s 251 towns and cities, covered bridges, historic sites, Farmers Markets, and an expanding roster of small breweries, wineries, and distilleries.
Here is a sampling of destinations and attractions within easy reach: • The picturesque village of Woodstock, home to the Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historic Park and the Billings Farm & Museum, considered one of the finest outdoor history museums in the country. • The President Coolidge State Historic Site in Plymouth, the childhood home of the 30th President of the United States and the place where Calvin Coolidge took the presidential oath of office • The Justin Morrill Homestead in Strafford, one of the country’s first declared National Historic Landmarks and the Joseph Smith Birthplace Memorial in South Royalton • Randolph, the first town north of Bethel Gilead, is home to Gifford Medical Center, the Chandler Center for the Arts, Kimball Library, the Vermont Veterans Cemetery, and Vermont Technical College, which makes its fitness center and indoor swimming pool (SHAPE) available to the public. • Since 1867, Tunbridge hosts its “World Fair” (one of Vermont’s twelve annual fairs) in mid- September on historic fair grounds in the village center. Off-the-beaten path Brookfield is home to the famous Floating Bridge, while Warren and Waitsfield loom large as quintessential ski towns. • Norwich University, the oldest (1819) private military college in the United States, is in nearby Northfield. The Vermont Law School, known for one of the country’s leading programs in environmental laws, is in South Royalton. • Located in the heart of Vermont, Bethel affords an easy drive to numerous downhill and Nordic ski areas.
  • We had a wonderful time staying at the parsonage in Vermont. Sandy and her husband were very welcoming and even had homemade muffins and jam ready for us when we arrived! The suite is lovely, as is the property and surrounding area. I would love to come back sometime!

    Liza2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Sandy was an excellent host and was very helpful. The space was very cozy and nice and they did a great job making it feel homey. It far exceeded our expectations and hopefully we’ll be able to come back one day!

    Neil2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The Parsonage is full of rich history as well as modern touches. Sandy had everything we needed for an overnight stay ready for us and answered any questions we had about the area and our trip. Would definitely book this cozy suite again!

    Damien2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • The Parsonage is a very cozy, clean getaway on a quiet road in Vermont but only minutes from the center of Randolph. Sandy and Stephen greeted us warmly and took the time to show us through the space. While the atmosphere is ye olde New England, the amenities are modern and comfortable. We will definitely be back again.

    Judy2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Sandy and Steve were great hosts! Amazing thoughtful touches - from the decor to the muffins freshly homemade for my birthday. Spotlessly clean, fluffy towels, and a very cozy space all around. Perfect for a couple looking for a weekend getaway.

    Rachel2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • The parsonage is in rural Vermont, so be prepared for wonderful views of mountains and woods all around. The room itself was very clean and cozy, with a fireplace, fully stocked kitchenette, and an attached bathroom (with laundry!). All amenities listed are included. Our host, Sandy, welcomed us as soon as we arrived and walked us through the room, showing us where everything was. She was very helpful and provided dinner recommendations in the area as well. We would definitely recommend this listing and would stay again if we happen to be in the area!

    Sofia2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I stayed here in January in search of snowshoeing and we got it - right outside the door, as the listing states, and close by. The Parsonage is a uniquely beautiful little spot and we found great restaurants and a spa we enjoyed in the nearby towns. We also enjoyed the drive to get there. Sandy and Steven were lovely and accommodating hosts.

Escape Coronavirus in VT. Hike, bike etc 200 year old VT home with large 2 floor/2 bedroom apartment in the Village of Randolph VT. Walk to Downtown, Chandler Music Hall, Bowling alley, and Amtrak stop. VTC is nearby. Kitchen, living room and bathroom are on first floor, bedrooms on second floor. Last guest comment: "We are headed out now. We had a great stay, thank you for everything. We did not use the pull out sofa. Thank you!!" We had some negative reviews. Make sure right place for u
Beautiful 200 year old wood floors. Exposed beams. The house has average or above average cieling height, but bathroom is barely 6 feet, if that. Just a heads up, no pun intended :).
Park with swimming in summer down the street. Ice skating available in winter. Cumberland Farms with 24 hour store and gas is 1/4 mile away. River across street, visitor in summer went swimming there. The Ellis reserve in Randolph has hiking and Mountain bike trails. To access trails from 13 Park st, climb up stairs on left of house to 2nd floor apartment. Go to left side of cement wall at back of house and climb small hill to neighbors back yard. Take left and head towards opening and traverse small yard diagonally to old road heading up hill. Shortly a pine tree blocks road, go around pine tree and walk 20 feet or so thru some brush before finding trail. Make note of where you popped out onto trail and then bear right and head uphill. If you mess up coming back you should pop out on a road heading towards the rt 66/rt 12 intersection, turn right there to get back home.
  • David was extremely responsive in his communication and was appreciated! The place is charming and my boyfriend and I loved checking out the craftsmanship of the exposed beams and hardwood floors. Walking distance across a beautiful river into a quaint and happening downtown!

It is a great place to relax after a day of skiing. Kate was a great host who responded very quickly to any questions we had. We definitely plan to come back next time we ski Sugarbush.

  • I came to Randolph on the train from NYC and this was my 2nd time staying with Pati & Paul! Now that I've met them and experienced the comfort of their home, I refuse to stay anywhere else! The guest house is SO spacious, the bed is more comfortable than my own, it is quiet, private, and if you need anything at all both Pati and Paul are just a phone call away, ready to help with whatever! Paul even offered to take me riding on his snow moblie - TOO COOL!!

    Melissa2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Pati was the greatest host! Very welcoming as soon as we arrived. So grateful for her flexibility upon our arrival. She even stayed up to greet us as we arrive a few hours later than expected. Been to a handful of Airbnb's in the past but this was by far my favorite. Incredible spacious and well-decorated space; curated by Pati herself! Handwritten advice for the local area, and especially knowledgeable instructions on how to rent skis. Having gone during President's Day Weekend/Valentine's Day (peak times for skiing), it was especially nice to come home to a cozy, quiet space, compared to some other options near the Killington/Pico Ski Area. It will be hard to top this Airbnb experience. 10/10 Would recommend. May have to return to stay at Pati and Paul's again!

  • What a great space to relax and unwind. A charming space in a great home with a beautiful, spacious kitchen, a cozy living room, and great architectural features of an older home. We not only loved the space, but also enjoyed the great vibe at the Chandler Music Hall and the eclectic shopping downtown at the Blue Moon Boutique. We look forward to another stay in Vermont at Pati and Paul's place!

    Kathie2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Pati & Paul were the best airbnb hosts ever!!! They are the kindest, most down to earth people and even offered to drive me to and from the train station since I wasn't renting a car! SO accommodating and their guest house is HUGE, clean, comfy, and beautiful! There were cafes, stores, and restaurants within walking distance right down the street (so was the train station- perfect). If you are coming to Randolph, give Pati a call! She will take amazing care of you :) I'll be back for sure!

    Melissa2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay with Pati and Paul! They went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. The place is beautiful and clean - it felt like home! Thank you for making our first family trip perfect!!!

  • Comfortable place in the heart of Randolph. Easy access to region. Great hospitable hosts.

    Robert2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • A very cute home to stay in for our ski weekend. Pati and Paul went above and beyond in making sure we safely made our way to Sugarbush by informing us of certain road restrictions. They were quick to respond to anything we needed. The space is clean and organized.

    Thomas2019-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Pati and Paul were great hosts. Not only was their house beautiful and ready for our stay but they provided extras such as information on local events and restaurants. Everything we would need for the weekend was provided and they were available for any questions or concerns we had.

  • Exactly as advertised! Kyle is a wonderful host. All of the recommendations were so helpful, and the place is gorgeous. I stayed at a MUCH more expensive Airbnb the night before staying at Kyle’s place and it did not have even half of the amenities that Kyles home did. The coffee station and cabinet full of spices were so helpful for someone trying to pack light! The TV and wifi were easy to use and I had no issue finding the place!

    Michele2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great condo and responsive host. It was my first time visiting Vermont and Kyle was able to provide a helpful list of recommendations. Convenient location if you are looking to visit Dartmouth and King Flour Bakery. We would definitely stay here again.

    Christopher2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing getaway! The place is beautiful and clean. The kitchen is full of appliances and spices. Kyle is very responsive. Would definitely go back and would recommend to everyone!

    Anna2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Kyle’s place. Everything was clean, comfy and great! There was a full kitchen with all we needed to cook. Again, it was wonderful. Thanks Kyle!

  • What a great spot. Our family of 3 stayed for 9 days, and couldn’t have been more comfortable. Cookware, cutlery, whatever you might need to cook at home was there. Nice big fridge and freezer, hot showers with good pressure, fresh towels, great bedding. BTW the bed is super comfortable, as is the couch. We were plenty warm, slept and ate well, and enjoyed the beautiful and peaceful spot. Amy watched out for us with the winter weather, and plowed whenever needed so we could get out easily. You won’t regret staying here :) Great experience.

    Katarina2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Peaceful and quiet, clean house, stocked kitchen, comfy bed, beautiful woods, kind host, couldn’t have had a more of perfect getaway!

    Corey2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this place. Absolutely beautiful surroundings nestled in the Vermont mountains.

    Thomas2019-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • Amy’s home was a perfect weekend getaway in Vermont. It had everything you need and allowed for a more off the grid experience, which was exactly what we were looking for! Amy even came by on the morning of our last day to say we could stay a little longer than checkout. Very kind of her! I would definitely recommend it to couples or a small group of friends who want to disconnect for a weekend and enjoy the surroundings. Certainly hope to stay there again!

    Matt2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Amy was an incredible host. Leading up to my trip she offered to stock up the fridge and told me about restaurants that people tend to like when they visit. I also saw a ton of moose which was really cool cause I’ve never seen one before.

    Aaron2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed one night in Amy's cozy house in the beautiful hills of Vermont. The house itself is very well equipped -- including a fully-furnished kitchen -- and Amy is kind enough to put some food in the fridge beforehand for our breakfast! The living room is spacious, yet cozy, and very comfortable. Our one issue was that Amy doesn't check her messages in the afternoon or evenings (which, to be fair, she does warn about). Nothing serious happened, but we had a minor issue and tried to contact her when we arrived at around 4pm but we got no response until the next morning, which was too late. However, she was very kind in her response and felt very bad about what had happened (which again was not very serious). Apart from this, we loved our stay and hope to make it back some day!

    Santiago And Evgeniya2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • It was such a great peaceful stay. The cottage was super warm and homey. Norwich and Hanover are only a short drive away. Highly recommend the Tavern in Lyme. Amy went above and beyond to ensure to stock the kitchen perfectly. Amy and her dog Goose were very welcoming. It is the perfect place to stay when visiting Vermont and New Hampshire.

We are located in the hills of central VT, close to good hiking, skiing and swimming. Our place is a working permaculture homestead/farm. Unwind in the traditional Finnish Sauna, relax by the living pool, or kick back in an Adirondack chair looking out at the hills of VT. No cleaning fee! This is one of three listings at our place. We can accommodate groups of eight by booking: ( Lower Yurt Stay on VT Small Farm + Camping in our Tipi on VT Small Farm )
We will walk you down to your yurt and give you a quick tour of our farm. This yurt is located on the lower part of our farm, although the distance is a mere 300 yards, it is a short yet significant hike down a steep maintained trail. The trail is lit with LED pathway lights to get you to and from the upper farm at night. (In winter this trail can be more difficult be sure to inquire when booking) It has a more secluded and remote feel of the two yurts. There is a stream at the bottom of our property and you can listen to it as you fall asleep! It is a nice 14 ft custom made yurt with a four season insulation kit. There is a wood stove that heats the yurt. If you are unfamiliar with making fires in a wood stove, we will gladly set up and little "workshop" to ensure you can make a good fire in your stove. We provide firewood from Nov. 1st through April 1st. Outside of those dates, we can help you find a firewood/campwood source. There is a double bed with a memory foam topper. We provide complementary tea and coffee and drinking water. There is a double burner propane cook top to prepare food. The little kitchen is stocked with pots pans flatware, and cutlery. There is a cooler in your yurt to keep food and drinks. During the spring, summer and fall, there is cold running water right at the yurt and an outhouse/composting toilet located directly behind the yurt. WINTER ACCESS: The trail to the yurt can usually be boot packed. Check in with trail conditions before arrival. Sometimes micro spikes are necessary. Winter guests will arrive to a fire going.
We are 12 miles north of Randolph VT, which has an Amtrak stop. The greyhound bus stops in Montpelier 1/2hr from our place. Burlington International Airport is 1 hr from our location. Our place is several miles out on a dirt road and backs up to the Roxbury state forests. It has beautiful views of the small valley of West Brookfield. The closest grocery and gas is in Randolph, or Northfield VT around 10 miles away. Brookfield is famous for its Floating bridge, which is 15 minuets away by car. There are two renown Restaurants within 20 minuets of our place. Ariel's in Brookfield, across the famous floating bridge, and the Black Krim Tavern in down town Randolph. Both feature farm to plate fare. The mountains of Vermont are in our back yard, with access to the Mad River Valley, 1/2 hr a way, with swimming holes, hiking, and kayaking. Camels hump is 35 mins away and has been a favorite hiking spot for our guest. We are 40 minuets from Stowe and access to Smugglers notch and Mt Mainsfield, which has gondola rides, and an access road to drive to the top
  • came back for a second time because we loved it so much last year. did not disappoint!

    Reggie2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The yurt is an incredible experience. No better way to get off the grid and clear your head. No phones, no service, no wifi. Just the beautiful Vermont wilderness. The Yurt was a cozy comfortable home for the night, and the perfect escape from the big city. Jonathan was delightful to deal with, and his personality matched the setting. Friendly, relaxed, kind and down to earth

    Hayden2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • The Yurt is incredible: very secluded, toasty with the fire going, and a beautiful, serene view. Jonathan set up the sauna for us and was very responsible and kind. An incredible experience and will definitely be back!

    Michael2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Jonathan was an amazing host and the yurts are amazing. I honestly didn't even consider all the extras until I got there. Things like the sauna (a must must) and the cowboy hot tub. The mint tea Jonathan made us for a refresher post Sauna was also phenomenal. We cooked all of our own meals using the supplied yurt cookware and stove without issue. If you're looking for an adventurous change of pace and get away to recharge this is the place to be. We were in the lower yurt and appreciated the seclusion. Don't let this one slip away, book now!

    Justin2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • For our First time staying in a yurt it was very comfortable, Jonathan was super helpful in getting us settled. We are already looking forward to going back for another visit in the spring I would highly recommend

    Mike2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a quiet, remote outdoor wellness weekend - this is the place to be! Jonathan and his family are extremely friendly, which makes the stay even more enjoyable! I would stay here anytime again with pleasure! :)

    Christian2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • The lower yurt exceeded our expectations in every way, and the same can be said for Jonathan’s hospitality. We arrived to a fire going in the woodstove, and it kept us warm on a 0 degree night! The bed is incredibly comfortable and we had all we needed with the stove and cooking utensils provided. Jonathan went out of his way to get the wood-fired sauna going for us and even cut ice out of the pond with an ax so that we could take dips during our sauna session. He also helped us with the cowboy hot tub, which is a must - it was an absolute dream sitting in the dark in the middle of a snowstorm. The mint tea was so good we poured it into our water bottles to take with us! Thank you thank you thank you Jonathan! Already can’t wait to come back.

    Katie2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Such an amazing experience! Highly recommend! Jonathan is such a wonderful host and communicated effectively with quick responses. He set up the sauna and live pool for us (great experience) and provided mint tea and even fresh milk from his cows. The stars and moon were so bright we barely used our flash light. The yurt itself was very warm and cozy. We will definitely be back :) P.S - the view from the outhouse was breathtaking ;)

The house is an open post and beam concept on a cul de sac. It is very quiet and private. The bedroom is spacious, light and clean. There is a private bathroom that is accessed from the main hallway. The wood stove creates a cozy, Vermont country feel. The house is 10 minutes from Sugarbush and 20 minutes from Mad River Glen. Located only 1 mile from Blueberry lake and the bike trails. 5 miles to Warren village, 11 miles to Waitsfield village.
The property abuts the National forest and has many trails for hiking, biking, nordic and downhill skiing!
I am very close to Blueberry lake, Warren Falls, Moss Glen Falls. The area is a tourist destination and has all sorts of restaurants and amenities.

Jeff gave us great advice where to go for dinner and we also enjoyed his company at home playing backgammon and watching TV. His two dogs are fun and friendly. • If you are looking for a great place in central Vermont within a reasonable driving distance to attractions and great Vermont hospitality, then Lois and Stephen’s place is the destination that you’ve been dreaming of. This host couple are locally knowledgeable and in keeping with their easy-going manner, they freely share information and conversation. The rooms are extra clean, the bathroom is conveniently located and the living room oozes comfort and relaxation. Hint, eat the complimentary continental breakfast in the dining room chair facing the window and you will be treated to a stunningly beautiful view of Norwich University and the mountains in the distance while sipping your tea or coffee. All in all, Northfield is a great town (note: an excellent, coffee, craft brewery and hamburger bar are all located within a 5-minute drive) and this is a great base from which to explore all that central Vermont has to offer.

  • Bob is an excellent host, we had no problems with the place, the location was perfect. My partner not too thrilled that the bathtub in our room was just a bath, no shower, but it was not a big deal. Bob even invited us for pancakes and bacon one morning, which was delicious! If Bob has space next time I'm visiting the area I'll definitely stay here again!

We can accommodate groups of eight by booking: 4 season Lower Yurt Stay on VT Small Farm and Camping in our Tipi on VT Small Farm.
We will walk you down to your yurt and give you a small tour of our farm. The yurt is located just past a newly planted plum orchard, lines of raspberries and strawberries on the upper part of our farm. It is a cozy 14 ft custom made yurt. It has a four season insulation kit and full size wood stove to heat the space in the winter. If you are unfamiliar with making fires in wood stoves, we will gladly set up a little "workshop" to be sure you can make a good fire in the stove! We provide firewood from Nov. 1st to April 1st. We can direct you to a source for firewood outside of those dates There is a double bed with a memory foam topper. We provide complementary tea and coffee and drinking water. There is a double burner propane cook top to prepare food and a cooler to keep beverages chilled. An outhouse is located behind the yurt and there is cold running water spigot at the yurt for three seasons. WINTER ACCESS: From December to Mid April we generally have quite a bit of snow. Guest will arrive to a warm yurt with a fire going. Guest who are booking a winter adventure in our yurts will want to check on the trail conditions. Boot packing into the yurt is possible, and some times micro spikes may be helpful in a handful of situations. It all depends on what kind of snow year we are having.
The closest grocery and gas station is in Randolph or Northfield VT, around 10 miles away. Brookfield is famous for its Floating Bridge, which is 15 minutes away by car. There are two renown Restaurants within 20 minuets of our place. Ariel's in Brookfield, across the famous floating bridge, and the Black Krim Tavern in down town Randolph. Both feature farm to plate fare. The mountains of Vermont are in our backyard with swimming holes, hiking, and kayaking and skiing close by. Camels hump is 35 minutes away and has been a favorite hiking spot for our guests. We are 40 minutes from Stowe and access to Smugglers Notch and Mt Mansfield, which has gondola rides in the summer and an access road to drive to the top. Sugarbush and Mad River Glen are 45 minutes to 1 hour away. We are just north of Killington which is 50 minutes away.

  • Wow, this place is soooo much better then I would have ever imagined. This is by far the most amazing air b&b we have ever stayed in. It was AMAZING in winter and we can't wait to come back in the summer to utilize the outdoor shower and hot soaking tub! The walk to the upper yurt wasn't slippery despite all the snow and just needed some crampons just incase. The yurt is super warm and cozy. We always bring our own blanket and pillows when we stay places and this may have been the first place that we didn't feel the need to bring in our own. The pillow and bed was heaven. I cannot wait to come back!!

  • Thank you so much Jonathan for this amazing experience. My boyfriend and I stayed in the yurt for his birthday weekend and it was truly magical. We had never stayed in a yurt before, but will definitely be back for another trip in the summertime. Even though it's February and "cold", we had amazing weather and enjoyed the sauna in the morning and cowgirl/cowboy hot tub towards the evening, catching the sunset. The tranquility of the farm and the stillness in the air makes you feel every moment, soaking it all in. Jonathan was a fantastic host and was very communicative and kind enough to help us show how to work the wood stove, hottub, and sauna. He definitely made this trip even more amazing. I 100% recommend and can't wait to return in the summer!

  • Wow where do I even start. This was our first time in a yurt. At first we where intimidated by the yurt and it’s old fashion ways. We are city people so this was a real step back in time. But throughout the weekend we fell in love and it was surely an adventure. The sauna was the experience I’ve ever had. The cold pool was so refreshing. The view in the mornings is breathtaking and was a great combination with breakfast and mimosas and we will forever treasure it. We will be back! Jonathan is one of the kindest souls I have ever met. He really went out of his way to make us comfortable. Thank you so much and we look forward to coming back! Million thanks!!

  • Jonathan was a wonderful, energetic, welcoming host who made us feel right at home the minute we parked our car and stepped out. Despite the cold, snowy weather, my fiance and I had the time of our lives! With Jonathan's yurt you not only get a place to stay, you get an entire experience! When booking, we wanted to have Jonathan's yurt be our place to stay while we explored VT but we didn't even leave! You get way more than what you pay for, and the memories my fiance and I made on our trip are absolutely precious. We had so much fun in non ideal weather, we can't imagine how magical it would be to stay during the spring/summer time. Thank you Jonathan, we can't wait to return!

  • Jonathan’s property was so quit and peaceful, perfect place to recharge and get in touch with nature. We look forward to our return trip. Thank you Jonathan!

  • Jonathan’s Yurt was the perfect and relaxing getaway to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday weekend. We have always been curious about Yurt stays and I’m so glad this was our first experience. It was memorable and we are already discussing a return trip. The cowboy hot tub was unique, we enjoyed that on the first night. The second evening we enjoyed the sauna and living pool. It was a brisk plunge into the pool, but invigorating all the same. The spearmint tea was an added delicious bonus! I highly recommend this to anyone looking to ‘escape’ for the weekend.Jonathan is an excellent and thoughtful host. We are so grateful for our wonderful experience!

  • This is so much more than a place to crash Jon really creates a whole experience, while still giving you your privacy. The sauna, cowboy hot tub, tea! It was such nice hospitality!! As for the yurt, it was really nice! Heated well, very cozy, a true Vermont experience!! We loved it. We loved it and would recommend this to anyone!

  • Place is AWESOME! I will say the photos make the cottage seem like it’s seclude but it is quite close to the main home. HOWEVER! Once in side it was a very private and romantic stay! Great host clean and comfortable stay..they BED is to die for, was very hard to make the 11 o’clock check out laying in the bed!

  • Coley and Eric’s is a perfect spot to stay. The little house is very clean and has everything you could need (games, pots and pans, shampoo). I would stay here again anytime!

    Emma2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Coley and Eric are incredible hosts and the cottage is the perfect get away. There is much to explore within a short drive (even in the winter!) and they have plenty of great tips on where to go. Would absolutely book again (and plan on it 😊)!

    Chloe2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I came to celebrate our anniversary. We were not disappointed! The cottage was so cute and cozy and just the right size for the two of us. Coley and Eric were always in touch via the airbnb app and were more than happy to get the hot tub started for us and to schedule the freshly baked bread for when we were at the cottage. It was delicious! The cottage was a quick 30 min drive from Woodstock where we went three times! It was about an hour away from Plymouth where we went snowmobiling. And an hour and a half away from both Burlington and the Ice Castles in New Hampshire. It was a great location, as it was pretty central to everything we wanted to do during our trip, but it was just far enough off the beaten path :) Coley and Eric always had the driveway plowed for us, as there was a lot of snow! We are hoping to be able to come back in the summer to visit the sheep and see the fruit bushes they are planting. Highly recommend!!

  • Perfect little place for a nice getaway in the woods. Cozy and comfy!!

  • I was at Coley’s place to spend a few days skiing with my grandson. It was a wonderful, relaxing stay: the house is beautiful and well equipped. I love this place because it is quiet, zen, in the middle of nature and at the same time so comfortable. I will be back!

    Michel & Agnes2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • We loved Coley and Eric’s cottage! So cozy and picturesque. They truly thought of everything. Highly recommend! Wish we could have stayed longer!

    Andrea2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • This is our second time at the Rose of Sharon cottage at Beforest Gardens, simply because it is perfect, and we want to use our money to support the work of love these two humans do in the world. We spent the weekend reading, writing, relaxing and thinking in heaven. Everything about our stay was above and beyond from the fresh eggs and bread to the massage. In other words, it’s the care and hospitality of the hosts that makes this air b n b so much more than an air b n b. It is an experience instead; one that will give you hope for humanity and this earth island home we share.

  • The place is clean and near the ski resort. There are amazing restaurants nearby. Alex is a great skier and I had him for to days to coach me on what to improve w my ski skills. The room is the only place being rented and not the whole place so I have to find another place where it is more spacious as I couldn’t possibly just stay in the room after skiing. Thank you Alex for the ski lessons. I highly recommend Alex place without reservation if you are only looking for a room/bed after a day’s activities. Morie aka Liberty

  • Jane's place is cute, clean and efficiently organized. The quality matress, quiet surroundings, cleanliness AND a spacious fenced in back yard for my two precious doggy companions and a private porch made me feel more like home, than being away. If you need anything out of the ordinary ( wanted a cheese-grater) Janet will accommodate you swiftly. I can highly recommend Jane's place! My doggies and I will be back next year for sure. Thank you Janet for making our stay so pleasant.

Before we left, we booked our next trip to Barre to stay with James. Highlights: View was awesome Beds were comfy Lots of space and comfy furnishing The 60's motif was really special! Great parking TV provided all the extra entertainment needed Breakfast in the fridge Neighbors were friendly Negatives: We had to leave Thumbs up all around!

  • This was our second stay with James, this time at City Heights, and was just as great as his other place. Clean , quiet, light filled, great deck for some February sunshine, amazing views, very comfortable beds, fully stocked kitchen so we could cook an ambitious birthday dinner for my 90 year old Dad who lives in Barre. James is now our go to place when visiting him. Loved the 60’s decor.

    Claudia2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing!!! I even got stuck in the snow and was helped by James with a lift out of it! Thanks!!

  • My husband, our dog and I greatly enjoyed our stay at James's place. His communication was prompt, the place was extremely clean and there was a great view. I appreciated small touches like a full length mirror, which is nice when on business trips. Though it wasn't a business trip for us, the added touch didn't go unnoticed. James also went out of his way to provide us with local Vermont treats and even mailed us something we fought during our stay. We won't hesitate to book again next time we are in the area.
