  • Very good location, very clean and with everything you need. The only problem is that the apartment is 25min walk from the center. A car is therefore necessary for this rental or have the number of a local taxis.

  • Location in a very quiet neighborhood and not far from the city center and markets (a good quality convenience store nearby). The house is very comfortable, clean and cozy. The kitchen has all the necessary equipment, the dishes are very good and there is availability of coffee and tea (we love it!).The host wasn't present in our stay, but was always available and attentive. We had a lot of privacy and for that we appreciated that the choice was right. Highly recommend and hope to return.

  • Ruth is a terrific host who was quick to greet us immediately on checkin and offer some local food and drink places to visit. Furthermore, due to uncertainty with the corona virus we weren’t sure where we were going to stay or possibly even be trapped in Ireland. Ruth was quick to offer up her place to us until we got sorted, and was nothing but nice and thoughtful with recommendations on what to do. Thank you Ruth!!

A small slice of paradise on the sunny side of Lough Derg:-) The boathouse is self contained with full kitchen, bathroom and mezzanine bed. Private veranda with seating for 2 and a small BBQ. (No pets allowed)
  • Unreal spot will defo be back Barry is a top man 🤝

    Jamie2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • This is one of the best AirBnB's that I've ever stayed in, and completely represents everything that is great about this platform - a unique space, in a beautiful location, hosted by a genuinely friendly and welcoming person. The place is exactly as described - it is right on the water and the doors and windows frame the lake beautifully and make it feel like the lake is all yours. Barry is a great host - on hand for anything we needed! Can't recommend this place enough.

    Tim2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • It’s a lovely spot right beside Lough Derg. Very peaceful and calm. The place is cosy and clean. The only issue I found is that the cabin isn’t very private. There are blinds on most windows but they don’t give much privacy and it’s easy for someone to come around without much warning. Apart from that everything is absolutely great - I would defiantly recommend. A very relaxing little spot.

    Dora2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely spot to while away a few days and get away from it all. It's a bird watchers paradise, even has a resident kingfisher. If you get up early enough you will see him close up along with the sunrise over the lake. Magical. Barry is the perfect host and lives behind so all your needs are well looked after. If you have a canoe or stand up it's an ideal spot to get on this beautiful stretch of water. The stove in the evening is really cosy and the boathouse has everything you need. Be aware that the climb up and down to the mezzanine bed is short but properly vertical. Fine for the average person. I loved the time I spent there and have it on my list to go back.

    Orla2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Little house in dream about the lake. Waking up in the morning overlooking the lake and the coast on the other side and falling asleep to the sound of the water next to the wood burning fireplace. A true haven of peace and tranquility. In addition Barry worried that we were at all times at ease, he left us with fresh firewood and recommendations on places to visit. Thanks Barry for your kindness !!

    Paula2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Barry's spot on the Lough Derg is a dream! So idyllic! Barry and his Mam's hospitality was great too! They kindly gave us a lift to the local pub one of the nights and Barry arranged a lift for us off a neighbour on the way home. It was a lovely tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of Dublin.

    Orla2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Pop's dream was absolutely incredible. If you like seclusion and an incredible view this little spot is just the place. We had an absolute fantastic time and only wish we could've stayed longer!

    Matthew2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Nice little spot for a romantic getaway. Quaint and peaceful. Getting up the stairs was a bit tricky. Barry is a lovely chap and was very welcoming as was his mum. Would recommend to anyone.

Recently awarded 'Most Unique Listing in Ireland' by Airbnb! This cabin is nestled in a tranquil woodland setting, with uninterrupted panoramic views over Lough Derg all the way to the Sliabh Aughty hills in Galway. The cabin is far away from busy roads and street lights and is a haven of birdsong, starry nights and spectacular sunsets with "one of the best views we have ever woken up to". Fully equipped with kitchen, bathroom and lofted bedroom; and is suitable for all seasons.
You have a seperate entrance and car parking facility. We live adjacent to the cabin but it is not overlooked. The cabin was designed and built by Stephen (a master carpenter) who was inspired by the 'Tiny Homes Movement' which advocates living simply on a smaller scale. It is built from locally sourced timber, is fully insulated and has low voltage led lighting; all designed to increase sustainability and minimise the environmental impact. Although small in scale, the cabin contains everything you could need for a perfect holiday experience.
This area is far from the busy tourist trails and is a well-kept secret haven of natural beauty. However, our central location means you are only an hour from the 'Wild Atlantic Way' and less than two hours from Dublin.
  • We loved the spot and the setting. Highly recommended!

    Julian2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Steve and Aine are wonderful hosts. They picked and dropped us in Nenagh city centre as we didn't have our own vehicle. They provided us with all the essentials we asked for and helped quickly. The house itself is so full of amenities that we enjoyed every bit of the "Human nest." Enjoyed the nature at it's best. Birds chirping and the smell of the wet ground and grass was therapeutic and made us feel content. Amazing place to stay. Go for it. ♥️🙂

Warm and friendly house in the middle of a lovely village.Enjoy lough derg and it's surrounding areas in the beautiful house near the lake and in the heart of the village. This is the ideal location for coolbawn quay, ashley park house and Nenagh weddings.
Puckane is an attractive and bustling village and includes Kennedy's Bar, long favoured by musicians and song-writers alike with songwriters such as Shane MacGowan and Christy Moore immortalising the village in songs. The village was a favourite holiday spot of the actor Gene Kelly, famed for the classic Singin' in the Rain. Puckane is nearby to the eastern shores of Lough Derg, Ireland's largest pleasure lake, with its renowned boating and sailing clubs and scenic walking and cycling routes. Nenagh town is just 6 miles or 9 kilometres away and has a variety of shops, pubs and restaurants. The lakeside village of Dromineer, home to one of the oldest yacht clubs in the world, is just 6 kilometres away.
  • Grainne was very helpful and had lots of breakfast food ready for us. We also had nice towels and toiletries in the bathroom. She was very quick to reply and give us relevant information and we were very happy with our stay overall.

  • Lovely house to stay in, Grainne was very accommodating and welcoming. Really enjoyed my stay.

    Adrian2019-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • Grainne's house is amazing. It is like a haven after cramped hotel rooms. It is exceptionally clean with great amenities. Grainne is a wonderful host who goes out of her way to be helpful and to make sure her guest's stay in perfect. The village is very close to lots of amazing sites and the surrounding garden and countryside is lovely. We have even met some of Grainne's family and some very friendly and helpful locals in the village. I can't recommend staying here highly enough. It is such a pleasant change from touristy towns and cities yet close enough to drive to attractions. I will definitely stay here again if we return to Ireland.

  • The Loft is by far one of the cosiest places myself and my girlfriend have stayed in. In the heart of the Irish countryside, you'll find yourself staying in a modern and stylish apartment that is cared for by wonderful hosts that manage to make you feel right at home whether you come from 10 minutes away or 100 miles away. As we booked it for Valentine's day, little touches were added by our hosts that really made the experience that much more wonderful.

  • Had a great stay, really nice place, with good shower, spotlessly clean and Maggie is so welcoming. I found the place easy to find with the eircode. Had a breakfast of muesli. fresh fruit, and soda bread with tea. Could have had toast also. I had a kettle in my room with tea coffee and milk and two cakes provided. The broadband was fast and effective. Nice wide hallway and room was on the ground floor. Happily recommend guests book here if they are in the area or as a base to see the local area. She also has a wonderful garden and view.

We had a beautiful view of her amazing garden. We stayed with Maggie as we were going to a wedding in Coolbawn Quay. She was so thoughtful, she dropped us to the venue. I would go back to Maggie's again just to relax and take in the beautiful garden! Thank you Maggie 😊

  • Lovely rooms and a beautiful garden - Maggie kindly gave us some poppy seeds to take home for our garden. The house is in a quaint village and it's worth the short walk to the river where you can sit and just chill. My bed was super comfy and the shower was perfect. I appreciated the late check-out as I'm not an early riser. Maggie is a great host and very kind. Would stay here again for sure!

    Teresa2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I stayed with Maggie while attending a wedding at Coolbawn Quay. Maggie was super friendly and is a very attentive and welcoming host. What we didn't expect from her was lovely home made bread, scones and sausage rolls at breakfast and a lovely touch of a cream egg at breakfast on Easter Sunday! Maggie was full of great info for the surrounding area to help fill our time. Maggie's home was perfectly places for a wedding at Coolbawn Quay which is just under a 10 minute drive away. We would defiantly be back if ever in the area!

'Boreen' is a cosy, handcrafted cabin hidden in the hills with uninterrupted tranquility & stunning views of the countryside. Be one of the first to stay in this newly refurbished Airbnb. Completed in late December 2019, everything in the cabin has been custom-designed and built to give you a completely unique and incredibly special experience. Just a ten-minute drive from the hugely popular twin towns of Killaloe and Ballina, Boreen feels a world away while on the doorstep of exploration.
The cabin is a cosy self-contained space, carefully designed to relax and inspire. Stay in either of the two bespoke bedrooms, with beds so comfy you won't want to leave. Both feature raised floors giving you stunning nature views with additional areas to have some quiet time away from the main living space. The rest of the cabin boasts an open plan living, kitchen and dining area that will cater to all of your needs. The living space is comprised of cloudlike couches, where you can put your feet up and relax to the sounds of the wood-burning stove. Read a book, watch some Netflix or connect to the portable speaker. If you feel like cooking, the space also hosts a fully kitted out kitchen with all the herbs, spices and sauces you need to cook up a storm. If being in the kitchen is your idea of hell, don't worry. There's pizza and ice cream waiting for you in the freezer. The cabin has WiFi and an iPad at your disposal. But if you'd prefer to disconnect, we've got plenty of board games, art materials, playing cards, books and magazines to keep you entertained. The open plan area gives way to the outer deck where you can dine al fresco under cover, sit back and relax in our super comfy outdoor couches or just take in the sounds of flowing water and birds singing as you look out over the lovely landscape. Explore the one-acre property where you will discover an abundance of special surprises. Beginning behind the cabin, enter ancient Irish ruins before following the forest path through the garden. Just beyond is a slow-moving stream that runs the length of the property. Follow this downriver for another treat! In recent times, a special section of land was purchased from the neighbouring farmer, giving guests exclusive access to an enchanting riverside walk. Located on an extremely popular walking trail, and within ten minutes of local villages Killaloe and Ballina, Boreen works as both a peaceful retreat and a perfect base to see nearby sights and to explore charming towns.
Boreen is situated within ten minutes of several lovely villages including heritage twin towns Killaloe and Ballina. These charming villages are widely recognised as some of Ireland’s most picturesque towns. Linked by a 300-year-old arch stone bridge over the River Shannon (Ireland's longest river), their history can be traced back to the 10th century and is the birthplace of Brian Boru, High King of Ireland. Both towns boast an abundance of charming cafes, casual and fine dining restaurants and a lively local Irish pub scene with evenings of traditional Irish music and dancing. A Farmer's market takes place each Sunday from 11am-3pm in Killaloe. A heaven for foodies! Stock up on locally produced organic vegetables, cheeses, artisan meats and fish along with a vast array of freshly baked bread and mouthwatering pastries. Other popular activities include sailing, fishing, stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking, waterskiing and jetskiing. The cabin is incredibly well connected if you would like to travel further afield, with lots of worthwhile day trips on your doorstep: Garrykennedy - 15minutes Limerick - 30minutes Terryglass - 45minutes Shannon - 1hr Lahinch (Cliffs Of Moher) - 1.5hrs Galway - 1.5hrs Dublin - 2hrs Cork - 2hrs Kerry - 2hrs Killarney - 2hrs Waterford - 2hrs
  • I had such a wonderful weekend in Steve's cabin. It was super cosy and fresh with a fun personality. Steve was very helpful and responded quickly anytime I contacted him with a query. The kitchen was stocked with more than your usually necessities, some tasty treats that were there for eating. The living and hangout space is very comfortable and nestled in the countryside next to a river and surrounded by trees and fields - so it is a perfect place to adventure in nature also. Thanks for the great stay!

    Victoria2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Such a great stay away from main roads and busy cities. The living space was great, beds were comfortable and clean. The nearest village isn’t far at all and it’s got plenty of shops for groceries etc. The location was great, far from main roads away from the noise, the only downside of this was the internet and 3G were a bit patchy, but this really wasn’t a problem, we weren’t on our phones often during our stay. The games options were fantastic and really fun! 100% worth staying at, highly recommend Steve’s place!

    Isabella2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • I would definitely recommend this stay away. It's an amazing spot if you need to get away and relax, have a sunny walk or a cozy night in.

    Katelyn2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely incredible place, I had a fantastic stay, the place is so beautifully finished and immaculately clean and has everything you could possibly need. I had a little baby with me and Steve went as far as to have a travel cot and high chair there for us. Highly recommend and will definitely return as soon as I can. Lyndsey

    Lyndsey2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • This is the place to come to to turn off the outside world and relax. Spectacular views just around the corner. The cabin sits on a creak and you can hear the rustle of the water going by. The front of the cabin is lined with tall trees. There is not traffic, no urban noise, and when the sky is free of clouds you can look up into infinity and let your thoughts mingle with the stars.

    Brendan2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • The nicest airbnb I've stayed in. Highlights included the ultra comfortable beds, the kitchen facilities and supplies, the garden, and the local walks. Steve was extremely helpful and friendly. Couldn't recommend his place enough. Thanks Steve!

    Colm2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Can't say enough good things about this place. Boreen is everything you dream an air BnB will be. Steve provided us with everything we needed for a perfect chilled out weekend. There was so much attention to detail in all aspects of our stay. From the design of the extremely comfortable bedrooms to the cosy main living space, it was clear the owner really thought about how a space should function for maximum comfy relaxo time!! We had everything we needed and more (shout out to the fully stocked snack press) and Steve was on hand to answer any questions that we had. The land the cabin sits on is so beautiful and peaceful. We had loads of fun exploring the ruins and the views of the land from the bedrooms windows are an amazing thing to wake up to. We didn't get to do too much walking as we were there during the storm, but we did make it into killaloe village (10min drive away) which had loads of nice cafes and pubs and a supermarket for supplies. I would highly recommend booking a stay at Boreen if you want to get away from the world and recharge.

    Daisy2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Just AWESOME! One of the best places we have ever stayed in! We weren't lucky to have good weather to take advantage of all the beautiful landscapes but we still had so many options around the house. Sitting by the fireplace and enjoying all the great details of the house(there is never enough "Yeti in my Spagetti" one can play). Will be definetly back as soon as possible!

  • My boyfriend and I stayed for two night and loved every minute. Both nights we cooked on the barbecue but there are plenty of local places to eat. It was quite chilly at night but with the wood burner and all the extra blankets provided we didn’t overly notice it. Could not recommend the tipi enough. Jeremy and Nuala were outstanding hosts and couldn’t do enough for us. Will definitely try and stay again.

  • Brilliant night ‘glamping’ in true style. Jerry met us at the door and showed us the gorgeous tipi. There was a comfy double bed inside with a chair and foot stall, a picnic basket with cutlery, some plates and beers for us, and lots of extra blankets should we need them. Jerry was very kind and helpful, as was his lovely wife. We bought some food in a supermarket and used the microwave to have a night in the tipi watching movies on an iPad. The solar lights are a great touch and make the tent look really cosy. There was also a small wood burner outside that we didn’t use as it was nice and warm anyway, and a table a chairs which were where we had breakfast before heading off for a day paddle-boarding.

    Tadhgh2018-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Extremely friendly hosts. Great breakfast. Would highly recommend

    Dean2018-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • The tipi was really quirky and had great attention to detail inside. We were really surprised at the space, as there was more than many double rooms I've stayed in in some hotels! Unfortunately the town had no running water at the time we stayed, but we were given plenty of extra drinking water which was really appreciated given that the water situation was out of their control. A really good stay if you are looking for a cheaper and somewhat different experience.

  • Bernie & Willie are great hosts - friendly, welcoming and super helpful. Their place is totally easygoing, bedrooms are well-appointed and there's the added bonus of a sittingroom dedicated for guest-use complete with cosy stove and multi channel tv. Dromineer is a peaceful village with a pub that serves great food, all right on the shores of Lough Derg. 100% recommended!

  • Eamonn is a lovely host and had the fire lighting on arrival, fab house in great location close to motorway. Clean house with all essentials needed.

    Gavin2019-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay here. Eamonn was very helpful with suggestions of activities and sites to see. This house is very clean, well maintained, and spacious. The house is located in a rural area but within 1-2 hours drive to other towns. We were only minutes away from a shopping plaza that had anything we might need. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice quiet location to stay. On a clear night we saw hundreds of stars from the bedroom window.

  • Stayed in Roisin and Charlie's place recently. This was just home from home. Fridge was stocked with essentials for our first night........Roisin even provided dressing gowns and hot water bottles (which we were glad of as the weather turned nasty). This is an ideal property if you just want to get away from it all. Situated overlooking the lake in Killaloe it is ideal for touring the surrounding countryside. Roisin and Charlie were amazing hosts and even provided us with fresh eggs every day. Thank you again and for all the laugh and chats we had. Highly recommended and hope to visit again one day .....when the weather is better!

  • My girlfriend and I were looking for a cottage style place in the countryside of Ireland as we were driving from Dublin to The Cliffs of Moher & Galway. We were so excited to find this place. It was very clean, had breathtaking views (especially sunset over the moutnains & lake), and Roisin & Charlie were the best hosts and very communicative. We would highly recommend this place for a getaway and would love to return if we're in the area again.

Daisy’s Cottage nestled in a private avenue with private Lake access. Just a stones throw from Garrykennedy village. Newly renovated, this cottage is packed with charm and ideal for a lake getaway. Fishing, Sailing and Irish pubs close by.
  • Nestled beside a beautiful harbour. There is a local pub down the road, the Larkins that had friendly people and delicious home made food and music. We stayed 2 weeks, it was very peaceful and we got rained in for a week and there was plenty of space for everyone and everything, it was warm and comfortable and clean and the kitchen was very enjoyable using. The surroundings are peaceful and there is plenty of privacy. HIGHLY recommend a visit here if you're just passing though, or if you want somewhere to relax and have peace and quiet, also not far from a little shop for supplies and there are several towns nearby where you can drive for a day out.

  • This cottage is so cosy and welcoming. It was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed including a great shower and the softest towels. Cillian and Muireann were super to deal with and couldn’t have been more welcoming and accommodating. The location is perfect, so calm and peaceful with a private walkway to the lake. The village is 5 mins walk away and you’ll get a lovely pint and welcome in Larkins Bar

My place is close to great views, restaurants and dining, and family-friendly activities. You’ll love my place because of the kitchen, the location, the views, and the cosiness. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, and families (with kids).
If you are looking for a glorious get away from it all - all - haven of tranquillity and peace then look no further. Restored in 2013 to its original traditional tranquillity but still offering the comforts of modern contemporary life. The passion and commitment is told throughout the cottage exhibiting the old and new colourful characteristics. Keep your eyes peeled for Michael milking the cows and feeding the young calves near the grounds
Our cottage is close to Dromineer, which has beautiful scenic views of Loughnane Derg, nature walks , restaurant and cafe together with the sailing club . We are just six miles from Nenagh and 30 mins drive from Limerick City to name but a few.
  • The Dairy Cottage was lovely- beautiful location, well decorated and furnished. It had all we needed for our stay. Sheila was also lovely and communicated well throughout, responding quickly to any questions. We even arrived to milk in the fridge and a locally baked cake! :) I would definitely recommend the dairy cottage to people wanting a quiet getaway in beautiful surroundings.

    Natasha2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Sheila and her husband were wonderful hosts who went the extra mile to make our entire stay an excellent experience. The cottage is exactly as described and extremely clean. We were attending a wedding at nearby Ashley Park House so it’s well located for access there and to many amazing sites, local towns and walks. Highly recommended.

    Gareth2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Sheila is a fantastic host, she is quick to respond and very accommodating. Her house is a beautiful old cottage which has been renovated, with old exposed stone walls it is a stylish and luxurious home where old meets new. The views are stunning and it is a great escape to the Irish c ountry side. I couldn't recommend it highly enough.

    Dragomir2019-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • A house with new furniture, clean, pleasant hospitality. The heating works perfectly, important for cold days on the west coast of Ireland. It is a good option to travel from Dublin to the West Coast and from there 1h to visit Galway, Mohers and a little further Kerry Ring.

    Pablo2019-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great New Years weekend in the Dairy Cottage. The cottage lived up to the photos and was spotlessly clean. It was so cosy we barely ventured out and spent our time reading in front of the fire and playing board games with the kids. The Christmas Tree was a nice touch. We all loved our stay and were sad to leave.

    Elaine2019-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great place for a relaxing Irish Country holiday. We had four adults and two small children staying in the cottage for a week and it was wonderful. My daughters loved seeing the cows coming into be milked and going back out to pasture every day. They even got a farm tour from Micheal while they were there. Sheila made sure that all of our needs were taken care of - as a host she goes above and beyond. The cottage is lovely and super cosy especially if you get a fire on at night. The family kitchen is well stocked and great for everyone to eat together. The location is superb for day trips- we went to Limerick, Killarney and Kilkenny. You could also easily go to the Cliffs of Moher and Galway. Perfect for your trip to Ireland. And don’t forget to have a pint at the Whiskey Still!

Built as a hunting lodge c.1860. The house fronts the Mulcair River, is surrounded by farms and forest, and sits in the valley at the base of Keeper Hill, the highest peak in Tipperary. Approx 30 mins from Limerick city, 45 mins Shannon airport, 1.30 hrs Cliffs of Moher, 2 hrs Dublin. An ideal base for walking (the Slieve Felim Way passes the front gate) with a number of loop walks accessible on foot. Starry skies and wide open vistas on offer. Own transport essential. Free parking.
The house has been modernised without compromising it's historical nature (thus no en-suites!). There are two bedrooms available each with a double bed, however if you are a couple or two people who want a room with two separate single beds we can do that, just let us know when you book. Our ethos is "country comfortable" and eco-friendly. So if it's a bit chilly we are more likely to offer you an extra blanket for the bed than to turn on the (hi-tech but wood fired) central heating. We are keen gardeners and grow a lot of out own food and at the same time encourage insects and wildlife through wildflower and natural habitat. We have three dogs, two of them rescue. You definitely need to like dogs to stay here. The scenery and quiet location lend themselves to walking, painting, writing, and general contemplation of nature. If you are touring about then this is a good stop off between Dublin and Kerry/Cork and for wider exploring into parts of Clare and the Wild Atlantic Way. The nearest pub is 5kms away in Killoscully and is a small, traditional and friendly place which serves an excellent pint of Guinness. It was the interior half of the pub location for Pat Short's "Killinascully", a comedy series set in the rural hills of Ireland
A quiet rural location, paradise for the genuine country lover. Nenagh town is 20 minutes drive and has a good range of independent shops and supermarkets.

  • We stayed at Margaret's place for 18 days and it was absolutely lovely! The house is right in the middle of the Irish countryside, so we woke up to a view of rolling green hills, grazing cows and expansive skies every day (luckily, we had some great sunny weather during our trip). On clear nights, we could see just about every star in the sky! Keep in mind that this is way out in the country, so the Wi-Fi connectivity was sometimes disrupted and there were occasional water issues (early morning water shutdowns or the hot water ran out), but otherwise, the space was cozy, comfy and had adequate amenities. One of my favourite things was the nice little black faux fire heater in the living room! You can expect a peaceful, quiet and relaxing stay here. The little town of Terryglass is a short drive away where we hung out at Paddy's Bar and the Derg Inn. And for groceries we drove to the town of Portumna. There were no issues in communicating with our host. Margaret always replied very quickly and informatively and was very willing to offer tips and places to go to. In addition to Margaret herself, Margaret's husband and son were really helpful in ensuring that we were okay, comfortable and enjoying our stay. Her son in particular was awesome in recommending things and offering suggestions, as well as helping us when we got a flat tire and looked into fixing the toilet when we first checked in. And her husband was very hands-on in explaining how to use the heating system. In short, someone was always around if we needed anything. There's someone else that deserves special mention, and that's their friendly little dog, Miss Minnie. While patrolling the premises, she always made a point to come over and say hello! We created some wonderful and priceless memories during our stay at Margaret's place and we highly recommend it!

  • Margaret was an amazing host. She was there to greet us and give us helpful local tips. The amenities provided were great, especially the fresh baked bread. We had a very clean and comfortable stay.

  • We didn't have a good timing and unfortunately we didn't meet Margaret. But her instructions for the check in were very good. We had our own small home in Ireland. There's a private entrance and a kitchen with all things you need for cooking by yourself. It was the best of four homes while our holidays in Ireland :)

  • Margaret is a splendid hostess with a charming home, spotlessly clean and well equipped. We would strongly suggest it for anyone visiting that part of Ireland.

  • This is a wonderful place to stay. Beautiful views, lovely thoughtful touches, quiet and peaceful surroundings with so much to do and places to explore and to visit and to relax. Margaret is also super friendly and helpful. The home has all the amenities required to make the stay really comfortable. They also have a really cute and friendly Jack Russell to give it a very homely feel. We really hope to have the opportunity to stay there again.

  • I hunkered down at Margaret's place to do some research and writing and a little exploring in the area. The place is great - a large one-bedroom suite with everything you need to be comfortable. The location is central with easy drives to both coasts and to the south. You will love the views of rolling green hills surrounding the beautifully-kept property. I cannot say enough about the hospitality offered by Margaret and Harry. They are warm, welcoming, and lots of fun. They had me over for a lovely meal before I left. I enjoyed myself very much and learned a lot about Ireland. You will be nearby a cute little village named Terryglass that has two great pubs and a town named Portumna where you can buy whatever you might need. One of my best Airbnb experiences!

A converted little barn, complete with slit windows. Bespoke kitchen unit and plenty of storage space in the walkin wardrobe. Open plan in layout. Old barn meets shabby chic!
The space has been called a writers paradise.....I agree with that!
A charming, detached studio-style barn conversion set in a wonderful peaceful location, down a winding country road, three miles from the pretty village of Terryglass in County Tipperary. Set next to the owner’s home, and lovingly restored in a modern yet traditional Irish fashion, this compact and cosy ground floor cottage offers comfortable accommodation perfect for couples. The open plan living area features a well-equipped kitchen, a dining area and a double bed, and there’s also a separate walk-in wardrobe and a separate shower room. In the evenings you can curl up on the comfy sofa in front of the TV, or on warmer occasions, why not enjoy the private garden and patio area outside? Beside this lovely cottage is the owners’ private residence and a large pretty garden where you can enjoy a relaxing stroll, whilst taking a visit to see the donkeys in the field next door. The friendly village of Terryglass offers two pubs and restaurants, and a shop for essential amenities, whilst the busy town of Portumna is less than six miles away, where you will find a larger supermarket among various other shops. The beautiful Portumna Castle and Forest Park is well worth a visit, or why not rent a boat and sail Lough Derg? Fishing, horse riding, water activities and walking can all be enjoyed within easy reach, and for a day trip to remember, just over an hour away is the cultural city of Galway waiting to be discovered. Offering peace and tranquility, and with so much to see and do nearby, this wonderful cottage is the perfect traditional base for your romantic getaway.

  • Maggie’s place felt like visiting a family friend. It was warm and cheery and the accommodations were lovely. Maggie let us hang out and weather out a big windstorm as if we were old family friends. She recommended great places to stay and eat and her place couldn’t be more lovely.
