Places to stay in Pond Eddy
Deep in a lush oak forest, on the bank of Bushkill Creek sits this hidden oasis. This is simply THEE most private abode in the entire area. Situated just feet from the water, the falls can be seen and heard from every room within the cabin’s charming, rustic interior. This spectacular 32 acre parcel is set within a vast reserve of state land: an oasis within an oasis. Just 90 minutes from NYC, this is a truly sublime atmosphere, perfect for those seeking a rejuvenating and inspiring getaway.
a unique cabin in a unique place… The Bushkill originates from a mountain spring at an elevation of about 1500ft. From there, mine is the very first home on it’s course. It is, therefore, the highest in elevation of any home on the creek. Here the water is untouched, full of trout, and extremely cold. The creek draws an array of wildlife, from otters to owls, even an occasional bear. Beneath a canopy of oak, hemlock, and tulip poplar, the cabin’s wrap around deck is the perfect platform for relaxing to the sounds of the falls, grilling, chilling, reading, writing, surfing, strumming, yoga, and more. Inside, the cozy living/dining room features a wood burning stove, hardwood floors, and the original wall slats that were milled from hemlocks grown on the property. There’s a comfy sofa and several pieces of wooden furniture handmade by myself. Off the living room, the kitchen is well lit by three windows. It features ceramic tile, a nice big work space, a collection of pots and pans, a gas range, drinking water, and a refrigerator/freezer stocked with a variety of condiments and ice. In the bathroom you’ll find a full tub, shower, and all the basic necessities. Separated from the living room by a set of French doors, the bedroom features hardwood floors, closet space, and a super comfortable queen bed. The cabin’s size and layout is a perfect fit for couples. Amazing activities, wondrous sights, hearty food and drink.…. The cabin is located near “Stairway Lake”, a spring feed lake, home to some really heavy large mouth bass, and a spectacular view of the valley. Accessible by foot only, you can hike there straight from the cabin or shorten your trip by driving to one of three nearby trailheads. The magnificent Delaware River is just a few minutes downhill and offers amazing scenery, river trips (kayak, canoe, or tube), and more great fishing. The river continues through Delaware Water Gap National Park which features some REALLY impressive waterfalls, great hikes, and a bike path that traverses the entire park. The historic village of Milford is peppered with attractions including Grey Towers, antique stores, and galleries. There’s even a local history museum celebrating the town’s role in launching the US Conservation Movement. There are so many great drink and dining experiences in the area, from casual Mexican to the renowned Hotel Fauchere to the trendy Fox ’n Hare gastropub. There are two 24 hour grocery stores, the cheapest gas in the East, and Woodbury Commons Outlets is right on the way back to NYC. You’ll find tons more to see and do in the information provided at the cabin.
  • Gorgeous views, cozy cabin on a very secluded property. Great location. I can not rave about this place enough. Had such an amazing getaway.

  • What can I say other than stunning? This remote waterfall cabin is a sight to see and an experience to be had. The pictures online really don't do it justice! We enjoyed long hikes upstream on the large private property and quiet nights by the fire. Truly a getaway from our busy suburban lives. If you're looking for place to go where you feel truly remote, but want the modern conveniences a short drive away, this is your place! The host was thoughtful, communicative and very gracious. You'll love your stay here!

  • This place is beautiful! A nice quiet location with tons of woodsy adventure all around you. Everything you need is only a 20 minute drive away. Waking up with a cup of coffee and the sound of running water right next to you is something everyone should experience. Sebastian was very helpful and provided all the necessary information. * Off-grid, minimalist cabin in the Catskills... * Super FAST WiFi (250mb download) — * Fenced in backyard so kids & pets can play safely — * Outside the fence is our 100+ acre farm & 10,000 acres of national park — * 12 minute drive to well-stocked upstate grocery stores — * 90 minute drive from New York Cit, but a world away and nestled between two rivers, waterfalls, and our private farm — * Luxury amenities like 100% French linen sheets, Casper beds, handmade furniture, etc.
Built in 1942, the cabin is a two-bedroom mid-century gem. There is a large living room with a picture window and wood burning stove as its centerpiece. The master bedroom has a queen bed and 5+ windows that allow in an abundance of natural light. The second bedroom has a queen bed and cozy lounge chair ideal for reading or watching TV. The bathroom is outfitted with towel heaters and modern appliances. The open kitchen is perfect for a warm gathering of friends and family and features an espresso machine. The cabin was renovated in 2017.
The house is outfitted for all-seasons and is ideal spot for families, friends, couples, or a solo artist from the city looking for a quiet retreat to get work done. It has all modern amenities: heat, hot water, high-speed internet, and a washer/dryer. It’s ten minute drive from the town of Port Jervis, which features coffee shops, a brewery, bars, and variety of restaurants. The location makes it a perfect gateway for day trips in the Catskills: the towns of Milford, Warwick, Narrowsburg, Livinginton Manor, and more are all easy drives under 45 minutes.
  • This was my second trip to the cabin and I’m already trying to figure out when I can return for visit number three. Spacious, super clean, light and bright, tastefully decorated and homey, I couldn’t ask for more for my midweek getaways from Manhattan. On cold nights I used the wood-burning fireplace and it heated the entire cabin. The kitchen is fully equipped, the bedrooms are pretty and peaceful, the beds are super comfortable and cozy, and I’ve seriously never slept better. And the property...trails for walking, waterfalls and streams, and the fenced-in yard for my two dogs to run freely is just a dream. And on the subject of dogs. While this is truly and ideal place to stay if you have them, it does not feel like a “dog place” if you know what I mean. It’s so clean, you would never think that it also welcomes and accommodates animals! Even though the backyard is completely fenced in, I wouldn’t leave my dogs outside unattended, but I loved hanging out there with them throughout the day, and starting my mornings on the back deck, drinking coffee while watching them play. Jenna is the best host you will ever have-responsive, accommodating, communicative and kind. If you are looking for a peaceful, cheerful, comfortable place to get away, you have found it!

    Katie2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay! The fire place and waterfalls were our favorites, we could have stayed a few more nights. Jenna is a great host very responsive and helpful. We will definitely come back soon. I recommend using the bbq grill and cooking.

    Avi2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is stylish, clean, and quiet. Perfect for a weekend away and would most definitely recommend.

    Kate2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is the perfect catskills farmhouse retreat to relax and unwind...amazing fireplace, good kitchen and dining space and the decor is phenomenal for that farmhouse vibe. Definitely recommend a stay here!

    Jeff2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • What can I say? The moment I walked into the cabin, I was already planning to come back. What a perfect space for me and my 2 dogs to escape the city for a few days of peace and quiet. The cabin itself is spacious, tasteful, cheerful, comfortable, clean, uncluttered yet homey. Jenna was the consummate host. No question of mine was too small or insignificant for her to find important, and she always responded promptly. I slept like a baby on the comfy bed, and my dogs were in seventh-heaven running around the fenced-in backyard. (Note: I wouldn’t leave my dogs unattended in the backyard, but that’s just me). The day I got back to the city, I booked my next stay in the cabin for the following month. I am often hard to please when I travel, but I have no complaints, only praise for this property, for this host, and for my experience. I’m countering the days until I return-thank you Jenna!

  • Absolutely beautiful. Amazing price for such a beautiful property.

    Katie2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great little place with so many lovely home flourishes. Friends and family had a great weekend enjoying the wood burning stove and fire pit in the backyard. And our especially loved running around the fenced in property. Definitely will be coming back.

    Sheila2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Jenna was an amazing host! Always so quick to respond to our questions. The house is perfect. The backyard is spacious so our dog could run around. The backyard fence opens up so you can explore the woods in the back. The waterfall back there is beautiful. This was overall a great experience, Jenna was awesome, the house was awesome, would 10/10 recommend.

  • The proof is in the details, and the Mill Bach Lodge has absolutely no shortage of tiny details expertly placed to make your stay even more than you had hoped. The attention paid to every tiny corner of this cabin made our stay that much more enjoyable. From the hand forged silverware and fully stocked wine fridge, to the heated floors and the awesome stag drink mixer and glasses, nothing got passed the owners of the Mill Bach Lodge. The wooded cabin aesthetic melds unbelievably well with all the modern technology. I can’t recommend this enough, stay here, for sure!

It has so many cute little touches to make it feel like home. From the electric fireplace to the fire pit outside it can also be a great weekend getaway. Rob and kim welcomed us with a cheese platter and a bottle of wine. They also provided, great tips regarding site seeing and local restaurants and bars to try. A binder was also provided with many more such recommendations. I wish we were able to stay longer than just the weekend but I look forward to being back in the warmer months!

    Michelle2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • I would hands down recommend anyone who wanted to get a quiet weekend getaway this is the place. Rob and Kim are amazing hosts and made our stay so warm and inviting. Kim was always quick to answer me when I had questions and she provided me a whole list of things and places for us to see. Even down to finding a place with a live band that played 80's music. They had all the personal touches and the cottage was so nicely decorated and cozy. We walked in to find a bottle of wine and cheese and crackers to start our weekend off. Just a short walk down the street you could walk down stairs and your right on the Delaware river. We felt like we had known them for years and we look forward to going to there again and again. I can't say enough of how wonderful this place is, it truly was the best Airbnb I have ever stayed in. After we left I felt like we had made new friends. Looking forward to going back in the summer and enjoying tubing on the Delaware.

  • Expecting nothing short of amazing

    Jillian2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Rob and Kim's place is great, looks just like the pictures and they are great host.

    Monica2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • A LITTLE SLICE OF HEAVEN! Rob and Kim's place exceeded our expectations. It was everything you hope for in a getaway and then some. Not only did we immediately feel right at home, but they made sure everything we could have possibly needed was thought of. There were literally no downsides and no cons to this experience. SO for pros! If you would like: - to escape from the city and get some peace and quiet - to sleep in a soft cozy bed - to snuggle up with a good book - to enjoy a glass of wine and a game of scrabble by the fireplace - to watch a movie with popcorn - to go for a two minute morning stroll and sit down by the Delaware river - to maybe see wild deer and turkeys - to make unforgettable memories Then book this gem immediately!

  • This is the best done Airbnb I've ever visited. The check in process was super easy. When we arrived, the place was immaculate, adorable, and comfortable. There was wine and cheese in the refrigerator, a guide to the local area, and even a stock pile of items available for purchase. Kim and Rob were very communicative during the entire trip and extremely helpful. Our stay was perfect and I cannot recommend this place enough.

    Casey2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • One of the best AirBnB’s I have stayed in! Rob and Kim’s place was beautiful and even better than the pictures. Prior to our arrival, Kim reached out to us to let us know that there was an impending snow storm the day of our arrival. She was kind enough to let us check in as early as we wanted that day in order to beat the snow. We were able to arrive earlier than check in time and so we didn’t have to stress about driving in the snow. Kim was also in contact with us all weekend, making sure we had everything we needed. Rob shoveled a nice little path for us from the house to our car. Everything about the house itself was perfect for our weekend of much needed rest. Loved it so much we can’t wait to go back!

A lot of very thoughtful touches from the owners for both humans and doggos which just added positive vibes to our stay. It did rain one of the days during our stay but it didn’t take away from the experience just made it even better and still very enjoyable. We are looking forward to coming back in the summer for kayaking season.

  • Lisa’s place is great! Perfect cozy cottage just 90 miles from NYC. The house is immaculate and all the decorative touches really add to the feel. Great outdoor space, too!

    Jenn2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • We loved Lisa’s place, much better than expected. Thanks Lisa for being a great host. We’ll be back soon!

  • Our stay at Lisa's adorable cabin was better than expected! My husband and I stayed here ahead of Thanksgiving with our little dog and it was the perfect quiet romantic getaway from the city before the crazy family holiday that we needed. I can see why Lisa is a superhost. She has put many finishing touches on the cabin to make you feel like you are the first to stay there. We loved having a fire inside on cold nights while watching movies and playing games and enjoyed hearing the river outside. The cabin itself was decorated so cute and we could tell was renovated thoughtfully not too long ago so was not outdated at all. We would definitely stay at Lisa's cabin again in the future and would love to take advantage of staying there in warmer weather.

    Indra2019-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a cabin getaway, this is the place. Lisa's home is decorated so beautifully and it's so cozy. The best part is being able to walk down to the river. It's absolutely gorgeous. We also loved the fire place and the amazing deck that overlooks the river. It was so quiet and peaceful. Highly recommended for a romantic getaway.

    Stefanie2019-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautifully decorated home, with the amenities needed to enjoy yourself with no outside travel if you just want to unplug and enjoy the views of the river, and deer sightings in the evening and early mornings. There is a tv with Dish network, but the views outside are better, walking along river, finding a good hiking trail and local shops and eateries not far away. The bridge crossing at night was an awesome adventure for the young children. It is roomy enough for a small family to enjoy and the fire pit outside was a hit w kids as well. I would definitely highly recommend this location and are looking forward to making a return perhaps in Summer to enjoy the river activities.

    Miguel2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • You can expect an amazing time at this place. Lisa is a wonderful host and is quick to respond to any questions. The place is super clean and soooo cozy! My husband and I could sit on the covered deck for hours listening to the Delaware river. Already can’t wait for our next visit.

  • Lisa's place was perfect for a long weekend (4 adults + 2 kids). The location is beautiful, even in February, with a well-equipped kitchen, great space to eat/relax and great fireplaces (both inside and out). The home was well decorated with nice touches (binoculars, bird guides and kids' books). The beds were extremely comfortable with nice touches like a suitcase rack. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in February and imagine a stay in the warmer months would be amazing as well.

    John2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is SO lovely. It's IMMACULATE and so well-appointed. The snob in me adored the high thread count sheets and super plush towels :). It's quiet and relaxing and the kitchen is great for cooking- a nice new convection oven & anything you'd need for most meals. Lisa was accommodating and friendly and I can't wait to visit again. I would say more but don't want it to get too busy ;)))

  • The house is very beautiful very cozy, it feels like your own house, very quiet in the neighborhood we went in winter I imagine that in summer it must be great to stay in this house, the best cabin

    Jordan2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is amazing! It’s a very charming mix of new and vintage, and we loved all of the outdoor relaxing areas (where you could hear the river). The beds were so comfortable, the towels were fluffy, and everything was spotless. We also enjoyed watching football on the flat screen in the living room. What a getaway, and for a great price. Highly recommend.

    Peg2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa’s house was fantastic! It had everything we needed for a nice, quiet relaxing weekend on the river. We went shopping at a local store for all our food and was able to prepare everything at the house. Having the nice grille was a lifesaver! Inside the house was clean and although we didn’t spend a lot of time there, it was tidy. We stayed in the bedroom with the biggest bed and it was ginormous. We slept like rocks every night. My favorite part of the property (other than being on the river), was the newer built back patio with covered roof. It was a great place to eat and relax even if it was raining. You could look out over the yard and to the river and see the people rafting by. Overall, it was a great experience with no issues and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.

    Curtis2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa’s house is absolutely beautiful and my family enjoyed our stay immensely. We plan on returning in the very beneath future.

  • My stay at Barbara's place was perfect and just what I needed. I stayed for two nights while in town to visit the temple and get a tattoo a couple towns over. Even though it was the holidays and family was over, I felt welcomed and not weird about being there at all. Thanks again! (Also note to potential future guests: The host has a couple of airbnb accounts because he took over hosting this space for Barbara. If it seems like he's not getting back to you, it's just because airbnb made it difficult to log in and out of accounts, he's getting your messages and I assure you, the place is great!)

Unique, private, and cozy 3 BR, 2 bath cabin in the woods, 5 minutes to the Delaware River and close to many Sullivan County attractions, but also perfect for enjoying time together in a relaxing and natural environment. All the modern amenities in a setting that feels timeless.
Surrounded by over 3 acres of tranquil woods, the house was built by a George Washington re-creator who wanted it to feel like it has been here since the early days of our country. The house has a unique design that feels timeless and cozy. The main level features gorgeous wide plank wood floors and wood beams. There is plenty of room, inside and out, for you and your family to spread out and enjoy time together. Whether you are watching movies, cooking, reading, and playing games, or you want to run around in the woods and enjoy the fire pit in the shadow of the rock ledge that gives our place it’s name, it’s all here for your enjoyment. When you want to wander off the reservation, the options are endless! The Delaware River is less than 5 minutes away, Bethel Woods Center for the Arts is 30 min. away, and Resorts World Catskills Casino is 40 min. away. Festivals and farmer's markets are everywhere! Sullivan County has MANY other cultural, recreational, and natural attractions, too. The main level has the kitchen, dining room, sitting area, master bedroom, a full bathroom with walk-in shower, which can be accessed from both the master bedroom and the hallway, and a step down great room with 65” flat screen TV and huge windows overlooking the woods. It is so satisfying to sit in the great room on a warm, sunny afternoon with all the windows open! The fully equipped kitchen has all new appliances and a beautiful view of the rock ledge and fire pit area. The dining room has a bay window with a lovely view of the property, hand hewn wooden beams, an expandable dining table, and is the perfect spot to enjoy a cup of tea. The master bedroom has a beautiful bay window and a private deck, perfect for enjoying the views and sounds of the woods. There are 2 fireplaces, one is in the dining room, and the other is between the living room and master bedroom. No fires are allowed in either fireplace, but we have provided candleabras with rows of beautiful, remote controlled candles to recreate the feeling of a flickering fire. The upstairs has a full bathroom with a clawfoot tub (but no shower), and 2 bedrooms, which each have a closet and dresser. With the view over the trees, and the breeze coming through the windows, it can feel like you’re sleeping in a tree house. The bottom level has the laundry room, with washer and dryer, and a game room. The game room was designed to resemble a Revolutionary era tavern, and has a wet bar, a sectional couch, a large flat screen tv, and lots of fun games to play! The bed arrangement is: queen bed in the master bedroom, queen bed in one upstairs bedroom, 2 twin beds (trundle daybed) in the smaller upstairs bedroom, and a full size sleeper sofa in the sitting area, with a memory foam mattress topper and a mattress pad to make it super comfy. Outside amenities include a front porch with a porch swing and rocking chairs, plus a fire pit area in the shadow of the rock ledge, with big adirondack chairs to sit in while you toast marshmallows and enjoy the fire. There is also a gas BBQ grill (if the tank is empty, it can be filled in town.) Sullivan County has plenty to do year round, and while spring, summer, and fall are always gorgeous here, the cabin in winter is picture perfect, like a Currier and Ives Christmas card!
Our house is located on a quiet, country road, just minutes from the Delaware River.
  • The house is beautiful, comfortable and really quiet also the place and the neighborhood is perfect to be a relax time.

  • The pictures posted don't do the place justice. The house is lovely! Very clean and well kept. My favorite thing was just how cozy the place really is. The host was great. She contacted us beforehand to let us know of all the places in the immediate area she thought we may need, as well as activities. 10 out of 10 would recommend a stay.

  • INCREDIBLE! My friends and I loved our stay at this property and Maryann was a hospitable host with quick responses to any question that may have come up! If you enjoy peace, nature, and a stay with a historical- yet modern touch this is the place to stay! Would totally come back again and recommend! You’ll feel at home and one with nature for sure! -Mike

  • It's like taking a step back in time. We loved our stay there, and you will too! Trust me!

    Laura2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Place was great. Some parts of the cabin made it feel like you traveled back in time. Clean and well kept. Plenty of privacy

    Brian2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Incredibly beautiful cabin! We couldn't get over all the detail and Revolutionary-era authenticity built into the house and the decor, it was like taking a step back through time but still with all modern comforts. :) The grounds were equally gorgeous with a lovely hiking trail and an incredible rock ledge right on the property. And with the autumn time of year, it was a perfect atmosphere greatly enjoyed by our entire group. Maryann was a gracious and communicative host--she gave us lots of local tips and pointers. There was some initial power outage at the house due to a nasty storm the day before, and she kept in touch and on top of things as the power was restored (very quickly after we arrived.) There was no ill effect on our stay, and we would love to come stay again in the future. Thank you so much again!

The Starling at Pond Eddy is a country retreat along the Delaware River, comprised of a Historic Delaware and Hudson Canal House + a caretaker’s cottage nestled on almost 8 acres of woods. The Cottage is a pet-friendly rental, however please let us know in advance if you plan on bringing your pet. There will be a $50 per stay fee.
Although The Starling at Pond Eddy retains much of its late 1800’s historic charm, the buildings have been upgraded with modern amenities like central air conditioning and heat. The Cottage is a private residence with its own gated front yard and porch. In addition, this space has a newly renovated bathroom, spacious dining room, and wood burning stove. Fire pits are located behind both buildings for roasting marshmallows (and ghost stories). A shared propane grill is also available for guests to use during the spring/summer months. Each bedroom is outfitted with memory foam mattresses and hypoallergenic bed and pillow covers. The pillows are down-alternative and hypoallergenic with 100% cotton covers. The soft garment washed sheets and duvet covers are also 100% cotton. Our towels are generously sized soft combed 100% Egyptian cotton and the bathroom has a hair dryer and portable clothing steamer. The kitchen is stocked with coffee, herbal tea and an electric coffee pot + French press.
Located off New York State Route 97 in Pond Eddy, a hamlet in Sullivan County, New York, the property is minutes away from Hawk’s Nest, a picturesque winding road along the Delaware River named for the birds of prey that nest in the area. Pond Eddy is a burgeoning community, rich with history. Its topography is punctuated by scenic overlooks, elegant historic architecture and bucolic panoramic views of the river. In the last several years the areas around Pond Eddy have undergone a good deal of development and small business growth as well, melding both new and old structures into the framework that’s making up the revived Lower Catskills area.
  • We loved our stay at the cottage this week! It was just the break from the city we were hoping for. We felt cozy at home and loved sitting by the fire inside and outside. The coffee We can't wait to book the cottage again in the summer and spend time fishing and canoeing. Thanks for your hospitality

  • Our stay at The Cottage was absolutely amazing! It is clean, it is stylish, and felt like we were at home. Communication with Kristen exceeded our expectations and all details she gives leave no questions to be asked. The view of the river was a nice benefit also. Can’t wait to book again!

  • This was an INCREDIBLE Airbnb experience. Our host was extremely responsive and kind the entire time before the stay and during the stay. She was always very responsive and tended to whatever my friends and I needed. She offered to come shovel the area too when it was snowing. Also, there was an extremely long message with great suggestions of things to do and see as well as living guidelines for while we were there which was just very impressive and thorough. The place itself felt like an establishment with custom notepads, to custom coffee bean packaging, and even a custom geotag on Google maps. Whoever designed the interior is phenomenal because we loved every detail and it was also pet friendly. We were so amazed by how many things were available for us at the Airbnb in terms of appliances! Even if we didn't take some of our own kitchenware from home, we would've been completely fine because this place has so much already. We loved how serine the surrounding area was and it was just beautiful and quiet which was just what we wanted. Having the river right across the stay was amazing too. We had an amazing time here and highly recommend it to anyone considering staying here. Thank you!!!

When we were about to leave, Eddie and I had a great talk and he even let us play with their two dogs. Super cute. If you are looking for a nice, comfortable and quite stay, this is a perfect place. I will be coming back in November here.

Kim is super chill and makes you feel comfortable and gives you your space or is fun to chat with. you do share space on the same level of the house, same bathroom same kitchen etc.. but if you are easy going and looking for a reasonably priced place close to kadampa its a winner. Kim is a great roommate to have for your retreat. I am heading back soon!

The Starling at Pond Eddy is a country retreat nestled on almost 8 acres of woods along the Delaware River, comprising of a Historic Delaware and Hudson Canal House and a caretaker’s cottage.
The riverhouse is separated into two spaces, the Boardinghouse Rooms and a private Apartment (that can be rented together along with the boardinghouse rooms). The Boardinghouse Rooms is a private space and the rental includes all of the rooms that was reportedly once a late 1800's boardinghouse overlooking the Delaware River. Although The Starling at Pond Eddy retains much of its late 1800’s historic charm, the buildings have been upgraded with modern amenities like central air conditioning and heat. The Boardinghouse Rooms boast a private porch and a variety of bedrooms, from an adventure-themed bunk room to an elaborate Art Deco-inspired suite. Fire pits are located behind both buildings for roasting marshmallows (and ghost stories). A shared propane grill is also available for guests to use during the spring/summer months. The kitchenette is stocked with coffee, herbal tea and an electric coffee pot + French press. (Please note that there are induction burners for cooking but no oven.) Each bedroom is outfitted with memory foam mattresses and hypoallergenic bed and pillow covers.

The general store also offers a full breakfast and lunch menu along with an espresso bar for coffee & tea beverages. A binder is located in the house detailing our local recommendations!
  • My husband and I had a wonderful stay at this adorable cottage with another couple and our 2 dogs. The pictures don't do it justice. It was perfectly clean, incredibly homey and stylish, and the beds were very comfortable. The peace and quiet of this secluded location was to die for; it was a perfect little getaway. Mason was very responsive and gave helpful recommendations on things to do and places to eat. Defininely hope to stay here again in one of the warmer months!

  • Perfect getaway. It's near beautiful nature and has a picture perfect fireplace to help keep warm. The bed was unreal, the host was responsive and accommodating. If you're looking for a cozy vacation with some peace and quiet, look no further.

    Tucker2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great little cottage...Pictures are accurate (except the 2nd bed room actually has a queen sized bed in it not a couch)...Super clean upon arrival and Mason's check in instructions were clear and concise. We were there over New Year's Eve with an other couple and while the place is small it was the perfect size for the 4 of us (We never felt like we were tripping over each other)...It being off-season a lot of places were closed or had limited hours but we were looking for a little solitude and relaxation after all so it worked out quite well. I can imagine us coming back up in the summer as the location of this place in relation to many outdoor activities is perfect. Close but just enough out of the way. Mason was very responsive to all communications while were were there. I would definitely recommend his place and look forward to staying here again sometime during the warmer months.

  • Ed was a great host, offering a really nice breakfast and perked coffee in the morning, along with entertaining stories and tips for tourists in the area. Because we were here on Woodstock 50th weekend, it seemed apropos that we would be "sharing" the space with several people, who were all super friendly and interesting!

    Gail2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Ed is a great host. He had suggestions for everything we asked about. The house is older but accommodating. We wanted for nothing. Location of the house was prefect for us. Close to where my running events were taking place. Only issue we had was figuring out the satellite TV, took a little while but we got it. His 2 fur babies were quiet welcoming & friendly. Would definitely stay here again.

He greeted us when he arrived with his adorable dogs :) He gave us some insight on things to do and directions to the theater... we went on an incredible hike as per his recommendation. We woke up to coffee made and breakfast spread for us. Overall, Ed was easy to talk to and we had a great overnight in his home! Thanks Ed, we will be returning!

Breakfast in the morning was delicious and Ed gave us some great tips for things to do locally. The bed was super comfy and the room was fully stocked with shampoos and lotions. Overall a great place to stay!

  • This was my sixth time staying in this house and fourth with Ayelet and Eric as my hosts. I really appreciate the consistent hospitality they've shown over the past four years in accommodating my family and me during the holiday season. Every year they are generous, helpful, and communicative and each year small improvements make our stay even better. The house provides the perfect setting for our short winter getaway. The open kitchen and dining space gives us a great place to all be together around meals, and the adjacent room with the fireplace allows us to relax and talk together. Whenever I have a question--whether before or during my stay--Ayelet and Eric are quick to respond. I look forward to future stays in their house.

    Joe2019-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • Our family of seven had a great time at this spacious yet cozy, old yet eclectic home! Ayelet was super responsive and helpful, and went out of her way to accommodate us. Highly recommend!

    Ellen2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time! The house if gorgeous comfy and perfect. So much space to sprawl and enjoy nature with all the comforts of home.

    Melanie2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Ayelet was a great host. She was very responsive and gave us lots of tips on local hiking and activity spots that we used to guide our weekend. Her place was large, with many places to relax, play board games, and dinner (inside, outside, and in a sunroom). It was a great weekend away, highly recommended.

    Aaron2019-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Ayelet's place during a cross-country skiing trip on Presidents' Weekend. There was not enough snow for cross country at High Point State Park but thanks to Ayelet's suggestions for nearby hiking, downhill skiing at Ski Big Bear in PA, and cute towns to visit we had a great weekend. The house is very stylish and roomy with enough separate spaces and nooks for everyone in two families with teenagers (6 people) to spread out and do their own thing in peace. The well-stocked kitchen and huge dining room table made it easy to prepare and enjoy meals. There is little or no cellphone reception at the rural house, which was a PLUS for me, and the WIFI worked well. We will definitely be back in the warmer months for more hiking along the Delaware and in the Catskills and visiting the little towns along the river.

    Kent2019-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Ayelet and Eric were, again, outstanding hosts. I have stayed in their house several times and their hospitality, responsiveness, and house itself were all beyond my expectations for an Air B&B rental. This year my family and I had some unexpected issues and Ayelet and Eric accommodated our change of plans with flexibility and generosity. I was so grateful for and impressed with everything and, as in the past, the experience was perfect. I'm looking forward to my next stay.

    Joe2018-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • What a cute house with tons of space! Lots of rooms to hang out in, big dining room table, comfy beds, lovely screened in porch and back patio. We enjoyed staying here for our ladies rafting weekend trip. Location was right near the river and a short 10 minutes up to Barryville to get a raft rental. The house has everything you might need for a relaxing weekend in the country.

    Jennifer2018-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful home with everything you could want for a stay in the country! So close to the Delaware River with a lovely yard where the deer came to visit us in the morning. The screened in porch was an ideal place to sit and relax. Eric and Ayelet were responsive and super helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

  • Erik’s property was absolutely beautiful and made my family’s weekend amazing. Everything was clean and the house was so comfortable. The views were amazing and there were little local places that were lovely to visit!

    Brittany2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • We were in town for a wedding, and Erik’s place was exactly what we needed. Erik was very responsive, the house was stocked with linens and toiletries, and the location was perfect for us. It is true there’s no service, but WiFi worked perfectly!

    Sreya2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Erik's ABNB is very specious and perfect for family gathering/entertainment. The kitchen is very specious with a large dining area. The Airbnb has a lot to offer for all ages! The location is great. Lots of things to do in the area. Erik was very helpful and answered all of my questions. I needed a catering service and he recommended Rose Catering. Rose was very helpful. Food was delicious♥️ very reasonable. She provided everything we needed. I highly recommend Rose Catering for your catering service. Very sweet and delightful lady. I highly recommend the Airbnb and Rose catering service. Thank you.

  • The pictures of the house do not do it justice! Erik’s house was beautiful and better than we expected. There is no service in the area, but if anything it’s better that way. We were able to disconnect and enjoy our time in nature. Erik was very helpful and responded to our questions very quickly. I highly recommend to a big group, very spacious.

An idyllic countryside farmhouse, nestled between two pristine rivers and over 1500 acres of national park. Built in 1850, and renovated in 2015, this farmhouse has the perfect blend of old-world charm and modern luxury, and is a designated historical landmark in New York state. Home features include handmade furniture, French linen, oversized bathtub, original artworks throughout the home, shaded patio, vinyl collection, and so much more. The home is also a three-minute walk to hiking trails, the river, and waterfalls.
The first floor of our farmhouse features: a hand-made Dutch door entrance, an oversized gas fireplace, local antique furniture from nearby towns, a bookshelf of artfully collects titles, a vinyl record player (and yes — an Alexa as well), a comfy sofa and a huge dinning room table that can fit up to 12 people. Outside the living room, we have a private reading room with high-end furniture and plenty of plants; which is a sun-drenched space for reading, relaxation or working. The kitchen is antique in all ways but one: all the appliances have been modernized, and we have every piece of equipment you’ll ever need. As you move upstairs, you’ll find a day bed and another desk for reading or writing. This splits off to the master bathroom which features a glass shower, two sinks, and the perhaps the largest bathtub you could imagine. The master bedroom has a king bed and various decorative antiques, as well as a view of the mountains outside. The second bedroom has a full bed and is filled with art and antiques. While the house is a real joy, it’s just a small part of the package. Take one step outside the door and miles upon miles of hiking trails and swimming spots are right there for you.
The farmhouse is located in the Valley of Spas or Glen Spey, only 90 minutes from New York City. Natural beauty abounds right outside the house with numerous lakes, rivers, brooks, and waterfalls just a quick walk or drive away. The charming towns of the Catskills: Port Jervis, Narrowsburg, Barryville, and Livingston Manor are a scenic drive away.
  • Absolutely incredible place. Everything about it, from the home itself to the surrounding property. Every single detail in the house is so thought out. Hiking trails with beautiful cascading waterfalls are just steps away. If you’re looking for a quiet getaway among the trees, a place to truly disconnect to reconnect, this is it.

    Ryan2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Such a beautiful & amazing home. The fire place was a perfect touch and the views were spectacular. Jenna had everything that we needed, couldn’t have asked for a better host. Will definitely be coming back for another visit!

  • If you’re looking for a place to relax in the middle of the woods, this is the place to go to! This home is even more beautiful and cozy than I could’ve pictured. We have already starting planning future trips back :). The bed is beyond comfortable, the living room is super cozy as well. Home away from home.

  • The Clearing Farm is an incredible place to stay. It's clean and put together well with everything you'd need for an enjoyable trip. The house is in an incredible, secluded location, with great views and access to trails for those who might like to hike or bike. We stayed without the kids, but would stay there again and will bring them along next time.

    Michael2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • This was our third time staying at Jenna's beautiful cottage and everything about our stay was simply magical. Jenna is sweet, responsive and a wonderful host altogether. We cannot wait to be back in the Spring!

    Dora2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Jenna's house. The place had everything we needed and was nicely decorated. Plenty of cozy little nooks and crannies that were perfect for chilling out with a cup of coffee and a book (or smartphone). We especially enjoyed the vinyl collection and fire place.

    Mats2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful place for small family to enjoy... Tucked away into the woods but close to a downtown area that has great coffee, food and supermarket... Everything in the house was beautiful... thoughtfully curated... and Jenna was a fantastic host! Highly recommend... We were 3 adults and 1 baby...

Pond Eddy NY is in the Town Of Lumberland, County of Sullivan, NY. A quite neighborhood once a lumber and stone community providing a considerable amount of building materials for the early days of New York City. Much of the sidewalk in NYC was bluestone from this area!
  • Definitely 5 stars! The lodge is gorgeous! It's cozy and rustic but with all the luxuries of the most upscale hotel. The owners are very responsive but also not at all intrusive if you don't need/want any contact. Everything was immaculately clean. Every detail in the lodge is an upgrade--the linens, the cookware, the heated floors, the technology, it's all the highest quality and the owners have great taste and style. Far better than the photos can capture. I would not only highly recommend this place, I'm sure I'll be a return guest.

    Diane2019-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • Kevin and Chris are very gracious hosts. They were very helpful and responded quick when we had questions. The place itself is GORGEOUS. Me and my girlfriend came to celebrate her birthday and we loved the house. It looks exactly like the pictures only much better in person. The fireplace was amazing, as well as the kitchen, grill, hot tub and bath. There are instructions to use almost everything in the house as well as extra wine and firewood that you can purchase. I would definitely recommend it. The town around the area is tiny, with not much going on, but when you're at the house, you really don't want to leave. We drove around 30 minutes to find a Walmart and some restaurants. The cabin itself is so well designed and full of little extra details that really made the stay wonderful. Kevin and Chris were also kind enough to leave a birthday card and some wine that we really appreciated. There's a pretty steep downhill road to get to the house and getting there in the dark was a bit tricky the first night but no issues after that, and it really adds to the whole experience. A+

    Yuriy2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Please don’t scroll past this cabin! There is no exaggeration in any review, it truly is as good as (if not better than) it seems! It is amazingly clean but still cozy, fancy without being pretentious, modern yet rustic, and just downright beautiful. Kevin and Chris were amazingly accommodating and replied instantly when we had any questions. The convenience of being able to purchase wine and wood was a luxury we didn’t even know we needed, but once we were there we literally needed for nothing. My one regret is that I didn’t realize just how many conveniences would be provided, I packed way too much stuff! I can’t recommend this cabin enough. We haven’t stopped talking about our experience and can’t wait for the next visit!

    Griffin2019-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is amazing! Rustic charm with all the modern amenities. The location is very easy to access and the roaring brook is such a wonderful feature of the property. Much attention to every detail truly makes this place special.

2 hrs from NYC, designed to make you feel afloat in the treetops. The living room lets you bask in the sun, imagine yourself in a snow globe on winter days or just sit by a fire and watch the wildlife amidst the autumn leaves. Magical year round.
10 Acres of wooded privacy! Set on the foot of a hillside above the Delaware River. Wildlife? to many to count. Its not uncommon to see wildlife at all times of day. Deer of course and dozens of marching turkey. The bears in the summer time are gorgeous but need to be respected as we don't want to get them to comfortable around humans. The entire property sans 2 locked closets and the tool shed. We will stay in contact via phone and email. Entire property is there for them. happy to engage as much as they need but we know that our guests come for the privacy. Explore the sleepy towns of Barryville and Eldred with simple country diners a burger joint as well as BBQ restaurants in season. Also a short drive to Narrowsburg or Cochecton. homes to high end art galleries City style restaurants and of course antiquing.
Explore the sleepy towns of Barryville and Eldred with simple country diners a burger joint a German beer house. Great wine & liquor store in Barryville specializing in local spirits, called the Barryville Bottle- ask for Hunter the friendliest Lab you'll ever meet. The River Market is a great place to get quick provisions (they make great sandwiches too). If you are driving through Port Jervis on your way to Pond Eddy - there is a great Bagel shop on main street called The Bagel Station. We also recommend stopping at JJ's Delicatessin on Pike which has great bread and wonderful Eastern Europe delicacies/treats. If you are looking to do some grocery shopping head to Pecks in Eldred, 5 miles away, where they have everything you need and even a selection of organic (think Shop Rite meets Fairway- but smaller). As for activities- In the summer months rafting rules the roost. Choose from any of the rafting companies.
  • Great place ! My boyfriend and I went here for a weekend getaway, it is totally secluded but close enough to local restaurants and hiking. • This place is a hidden gem in NY! You will love this cabin so don't waste time looking anymore. Book this ASAP! You won't regret it. The cabin is beautiful from inside and out. It is so beautifully decorated and cozy, so you will feel at home right away. This place is near good hiking trails and near the Delaware River. The wood stove works wonders and it makes the house feel warm. Also, check out the guidebook provided by Lou and visit some of the places and restaurants he recommended. We went to The cottage house and had some delicious Hungarian meals. We also went to Henning's Local and had an amazing dinner there! This place is great for a weekend getaway.

We call this The Cottage. It is one of three guest houses on 16 park-like acres, nestled into the woods, running along the scenic Bushkill Creek in the NE tip of the Poconos, near the Delaware River. All 3 houses are set quite far apart on the property and offer the perfect amount of privacy.
The cottage has 2 charming bedrooms and a large sleeping loft. There's 2 stone fireplaces and a great kitchen. The massive porch is the prefect place to relax or take in the view of the river and waterfalls below.
Mill Rift is a tiny community right off the Delaware River that offers so many activities from rafting and canoeing, hiking, cross country skiing, fishing, antiquing, dining and much more...
  • Gorgeous waterfalls in the backyard, cozy but surprisingly spacious cabin interior, perfectly fit for a weekend or a week of enjoyment.

    Melanie2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Wow, Travis's house is situated on one of the most beautiful and dramatic properties I've ever been on. Not one but 2 waterfalls in their backyard. It's unbelievable! And the cottage itself is so charming and perfect, many different nooks and vignettes that are beautifully appointed. Plus Travis was so welcoming, telling us that the property was ours to explore, including the use the sauna or to go swimming (tho not in 25 degree weather!). I hope to return during the summer months when we can spend more time outside on the many porches and patios through the property; though trust, with the two fire places and a great kitchen, we loved our weekend spent inside :)

    Julie2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This property is incredibly beautiful and the cottage has a lot of character. It is a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of our busy worlds. You can relax by the stream, hike around the property or just hang-out in the cottage. We are definitely interested in returning to the property to experience it in the summer time as well. I definitely recommend checking out this place.

  • Like all the other reviews say, this is really an extraordinary place––the property is stunning, the cottage is cozy and well equipped, and the hosts are very welcoming.

  • This beautiful property has a magical touch to it. Lots of nifty little surprises in every corner. The property itself is huge and has this wonderful waterfall that sure is a sight to see! I cant wait to come back in the summer for a dip. The cottage is super clean and comfortable. Travis was a wonderful host and super attentive. Communication was a breeze. You need to visit this cottage to feel its cozy vibes!
