Enjoy this cozy cabin nestled in the heart of the Ozarks on a 100 acre farm and 3 acre fishing pond. The parks may be closed, but you can enjoy the great outdoors in the secluded ozark mountains in the privacy of our own farm. All the perks of a national park can be sought along with the joys of living on a farm. Watch granny milk each morning and enjoy the butter, eggs, and meat grown right here.
We also host Lost Valley View Cabin, and with over 40, 5 star reviews, we make customer service our priority!
This spot is located on what was the original county road from Clarksville to Carroll County. It has been a road since before the civil war. It is a county maintained road up to the Lily Pad, but it no longer goes down the mountain ending at Boxley Valley. It also borders Lost Valley State Park, you are actually above it, and you can feel free to hike into Lost Valley, from the front door.
  • A very neat, cozy and comfortable place. Almost all the amenities listed were there and it made the trip even more helpful.. a quiet serene place that is aided by the wonderful hosts. Extremely clean indoors and very welcoming tail wagging guests named Leo and pearl 😁. Overall a great place for your weekend stay to unwind from all the stress of your life

  • This place was an absolutely amazing find with breathtaking views! Ronald was incredibly helpful during our entire trip and the level of hospitality was through the roof. I would also like to add that his mother who lives up the road from the cabin, was an absolute blessing to us. She helped supply tools when our truck battery died and we had to change it out. We were also able to enjoy the delicious farm fresh eggs as well as fresh New York Strips that were mouth watering. My husband and I look forward to returning again some day! Thank you so much for an unforgettable stay!

Very quiet and private 1 bedroom cabin with seasonal views of the Little Buffalo River. Fully equipped kitchen. Access to beach and seasonal swimming hole. A perfect romantic getaway for couples. There is an additional sleeping area separate from the house if you wanted to bring an extra guest or two. Lotus Point is only 6 miles from Jasper. Close to many access points on the upper section of the Buffalo National River for fishing, floating, hiking, mountain biking and rock climbing.
The main cabin has 1 bedroom with queen bed, fully equipped kitchen, laundry and bath and sits on 9 acres of mostly wooded land. There is internet service and TV with Netflix, as well as a variety of board games and books available in the cozy living room for guests to enjoy. The deck overlooking the Little Buffalo River is great for just sitting and relaxing or barbecuing on the gas grill provided. There is a small bungalow that can sleep two additional guests should you decide to bring friends. It is detached from the house, and is perched on a bluff overlooking the river. It has a queen size bed, A/C and heater, bottled water and coffee maker are provided, however, there is NO bathroom or cooking facilities. It is just for sleeping. There is an additional fee for use of this space so please be sure to indicate if you wish to use the bungalow. There is a steep and narrow trail that leads down to the beach and swimming hole for those who are adventurous.
Jasper is a quiet quaint little town, usually bustling with tourists during the floating season in the Spring, hikers, rock climbers and motorcyclists in Spring and Fall. There are a couple arts and craft galleries in town and different festivals and events occur throughout the year such as Heritage Days and Elk Festival in Spring, the Bluegrass Festival in summer. As you wander around this little country town you will most likely encounter many interesting locals whose families go back many generations, as well as many "transplants" who have decided to make Newton County their home.
  • Lotus point was my first Airbnb and it set the bar so high! This place had everything you could ever need and more! I loved the visit from the neighbor dogs along with the wrap around porch, you can hear the little buffalo river running, and at night the stars are unbelievable! Highly highly recommend this place, it’s in a great location and a great size, thanks for an amazing stay!

  • Wonderful stay! My son and I go on a mother and son trip every year, and this year, it was Arkansas. This place was just lovely. I would highly recommend it! We were stuck inside most of our vacation because of the weather, but my son wasn’t upset one bit. Very peaceful!

  • Peaceful cabin, the perfect place to stay!

  • I love this place and can't wait to come back! Claire was a wonderful host and her place is amazing! It's very clean, lots of interesting decor including some unique books, in a private location not far from town, beautiful views and a deck that wraps half way around the place!! I could go on and on!! I highly recommend checking it out if you are starting to in area. Thanks for everything Claire!!

  • Great location, great host. If you like getting outdoors in North Arkansas- you can't do much better. This place is perfect for what we wanted- a cozy location close to the trails, but remote enough to be private. Claire does a greta job answering questions and includes a lot of thoughtful extras, like a walking stick if you need it. It all adds up to a great choice- one we've made twice now.

    Jay2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • What a treasure! Lotus Point is perfection.

    Erin2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • A quite place to relax and explore away from home. Claire 's cabin was clean and had all the comfort of home. Interesting decorations inside and outside the cabin. Great location near hicking trail and water fall.

This cozy mountain top cabin is located in the middle of the 10 acre pasture. The trailhead to Hemmed In Hollow waterfall is just across the property line. There is a great store on the highway for hiking gear and a short order kitchen. Enjoy beautiful views of rolling pastures, cattle and fireflies galore. Just 10 minutes from Buffalo river access in Ponca, 20 minutes from Harrison AR, and 50 minutes from Branson MO.
Central air and heat, simple linens, TV and DVD player. No wifi or cable.
The area here is country mountain living at it's best. The cabin is surrounded by rolling pastures, and quiet but friendly neighbors. Now we are 20 minutes from Harrison, AR. That's be closest town with a Walmart and restaurants. The store 1 mile away on the highway (JB trading Co) has a deli, short order cook, pizza station, groceries and hiking supplies.
  • Very clean! Great location for hiking, canoeing, etc. The Connie cabin exceeded our expectations. 👍

    Allison2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I wanted to find a nice place to stay near hiking trails and Holly’s Cabin was perfect. The kitchen is amazing and there were great amenities. The cabin is less than a mile from Hemmed in Hollows trailhead. JB’s trading post which is about a mile away had great breakfast and every basic necessity you need. We will definitely be staying here again! If you are looking to find a place in a remote area with natural beauty and places to hike, then Holly’s Cabin is the place for you.

    Kaila2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was cozy, clean and the outside was well kept. cabin sits on 10 acres Breathtaking!

    Deborah2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was such a perfect place to relax and use as a hiking hub. It's right next to the Hemmended in the Hollows trail (you could walk from the cabin if you wanted) and just a few miles from Centerpoint trail and a few others. The little camp store, on the main road, JB's is closed on Sundays but has great breakfast egg biscuits and has little flyers on each of the area trails (also is a gas station). There's another camp store in Ponca but in general, you're best off arriving in the area with groceries if you plan to cook at all or if you want certain things for breakfast or lunch. We enjoyed the sandwiches at the Buffalo Outdoor Center in Ponca for lunch both days but then drove to Harrison (the next bigger town over) for dinner one night. The cabin itself is super comfy. There's a back porch on the second floor that is perfect for watching the sunset. There's plenty of hot water for showers. The king size bed downstairs was great and so were the couch and big armchair for reading and watching DVDs at night. There is also coffee and hot chocolate available. There's no wifi (which was a nice way to unplug from work) but our Verizon phones did fine with reception from the cabin. It's a perfect escape in back country Arkansas and we would stay here again in a heartbeat if the opportunity presents itself!!!

  • Great little cabin. Pretty isolated, which is a great thing if that’s what you’re seeking. Good place for a peaceful getaway for a couple or a small group of friends!

  • Place is great. Has great hiking nearby.

    Ryan2019-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful cabin in the woods with everything you need. Loved the fire pit, fireplace and fabulous night sky ( look for the Milky Way)! The driveway would be very difficult for a motorcycle (we were on a 3-wheel Harley and it was challenging). Be sure to go: to Jasper for the Ozark Cafe and Emma’s Museum of Junk, see the elk in Boxley Valley and go to Eureka Springs.

    Leslie2019-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect cabin nestled in the woods away from it all. Very well stocked with everything you could need. Clint was a gracious host (even when he had to come open the door when we couldn’t figure it out). Haha Look forward to coming back again soon.

  • We had a great weekend getaway!

  • Stayed in The Original with my husband and our 3 kids (ages 16, 3, and 4 months) and it was exactly what we were looking for. The cabin is perfectly secluded but easy to find with the directions provided. We loved the private “backyard” area and spent time out there cooking over the fire and exploring. Pruitt’s Landing was right down the road and was perfect for spending the day at the river. It was an easy drive to the Ozark Campground swimming hole and Erbie. We even drove an easy 30 minutes to swim at Steel Creek. Perfect location and perfect amenities. Will definitely recommend it to others and would stay with the family here again!

We were able to hike the trails she recommended and after a long day’s hike, we loved soaking and relaxing in the hot tub! The amenities are grand and you will find a great selection of books, movies, and games to keep you busy a well. We loved her place and we highly recommend it to everyone!

  • This space is amazing. WE loved the hot tub on the back deck, the grill, the fireplace, and the solitude. Lots of places to hike nearby. Couldn't have picked a better getaway for my wife and I.

    Wesley2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin was absolutely everything we could have wanted. It was sparkling clean, the hot tub was AMAZING, we wished we were there longer! We ended up getting lost/delayed by about 30 minutes because we lost reception on the way out there, so I'd definitely recommend taking a screen shot of the directions! But once you reach the JB Trading Co it was really easy to find!

    MacKenzie2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Name says is perfectly. Beautiful cozy cabin with modern amenities allows best of both worlds. The tranquility of the cabin coupled with the natural beauty of the area make it a perfect destination. Can’t beat the price for what you get and the hosts were amazing! Definitely recommend and definitely will return, hopefully soon! 5⭐️

  • Annette’s place was comfortable, relaxing and had everything we needed to hang out after a few nights camping on the Buffalo River. All the rooms were clean, nicely decorated, and the patio was perfect for sipping coffee in the morning. We had a group of six and stayed comfortably. Loved our stay and highly recommend!!

Hill Song Cottage was very clean. There was even coffee grounds available, which was a pleasant surprise. Everything was just so nice!! I would recommend Hill Song Cottage to any and every one!

NEW OWNER - Please enjoy our discounted rates as we make improvements and upgrades tot the property. Cabin 3 is a mini-motel with three individual rooms. Rooms 3 and 4 each feature a queen size bed with a full bath. Rooms 3 and 4 share an interconnecting door and would be perfect for a family or couples traveling together who want their own privacy.
Enjoy the Scenic Beauty and Natural Wonders of the Ozark Mountain Region while staying in one of our Chalets or Cabins that offer all the comforts of home! Surrounded by Ozark Mountain beauty, we are close to the Buffalo National River with lots of hiking trails just minutes away. We're only about an hour from Branson and Eureka Springs - so see all the sites and shows, but return to Little Switzerland Chalets and Cabins to relax in the quiet peaceful beauty of Newton County.
The Little Switzerland homestead dates back to at least 1891 when two Swiss families settled at this site in Newton County and it has always been an "oasis" for travelers. In horse and buggy days travelers would stop to rest and fill their water barrels before continuing on their journey. It took three days to travel the 18 miles from Jasper to Harrison and Little Switzerland was always the first stop before heading out over the rugged mountain terrain.
  • We enjoyed our second stay at Little Switzerland as much as the first. Perfect location for enjoying all that Jasper and the Buffalo River area has to offer.

Charming country home, filled with light and comfort, located on the banks of the Little Buffalo River. Mountains, forest, and two waterways combine with natural landscaping to create a peaceful, natural setting! Located near Jasper, Arkansas and the Buffalo National River.
Beautiful, "quirky" home in the wooded mountains, along the Little Buffalo River, with access to hundreds of acres of hiking trails. Property borders the Ozark National Forest. Swimming in the river or creek is a bonus! Please note that we are "off-road". There's about 6 miles of dirt road to get here. AWD or 4WD not required, but it can be handy!
This is the quiet rural mountain community of Murray, population 38. Located in beautiful Newton County, Arkansas! Neighbors are friendly, but keep to themselves.
  • This place is a nature lover's dream! There are many porches to listen to the convergence of two creeks/rivers and watching wildlife. The house is cozy and quaint with entertainment rather it be with a book, board game or movie. It also has wifi for when you want to search an interesting fact about the area or plan out your day's travel. The host are very helpful and thoughtful! I highly recommend this getaway to anyone!

    Brian2019-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • The property is just beautiful! It is closer to the water than I imagined, which we loved. It is definitely off the grid....which is exactly what we were looking for. We enjoyed hiking the white loop trail right on the property. Many beautiful views on this hike but you do have to cross the creek several times, so bring waterproof boots or prepare to take your shoes off a lot! The house is cozy and clean and had everything we needed. Truly a piece of heaven. We will return.

    Beth2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Creek's End is a wonderful place to stay. A very secluded spot in the beautiful Ozarks. We loved the sound of the Little Buffalo River right beside the house. The home is roomy and cozy, just what we needed. We enjoyed hiking the trails when we were unable to cross the river because of high water (4-wheel drive or a pickup truck are not required, but we were reluctant to cross the high water in our SUV). I do recommend that you bring waterproof boots if you want to enjoy the experience even more! All in all, we loved Annie and Suzy's house and hope to visit again. Even better--it's their mom's house, so it has a great family feel to it. Loved our time there!

  • Creek's End was perfect! We felt at home as soon as we walked in the house. The house was clean and the hosts provided every amenity we could possibly need. Notes left around the house and the fresh cookies were added bonuses. The kitchen was our favorite spot but the decks with views of the creek and river were great as well. If you are looking for a quiet, peaceful, remote location, you will be hard pressed to find somewhere as unique and beautiful as Creek's End.

    Deborah2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Way out in the woods as we hoped plus nicely furnished, super clean, everything you need is there, and the beauty outside is matched by original works of art inside.

    Wayne2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • This place is like a fairytale! If you are looking to truly get away and unplug, this is the perfect place! We loved being right on the creek and hearing the water while we sat outside and drank our coffee. The homemade cookies that were waiting on us when we arrived were amazing! We love this area. We come here to hike and soak up the beautiful scenery that Newton County has to offer. We are already planning a return trip.

Private solar powered primitive 'Top of the Buffalo' cabin in the Buffalo National River Headwaters surrounded by the Ozark National Forest in the center of the Upper Buffalo Mountain Bike Trails. Close to Hawksbill Crag/Whitaker Point, Upper Buffalo Wilderness, Horseshoe Canyon, Glory Hole, Lost Valley, Hailstone & Kings River Falls. Glorified camping w/o a tent. Use an outhouse and outdoor solar shower bag. Basic clean. Wood bunks. No beds/linens/blankets/pillows.Value is seclusion/location.
**** UPDATES**** The driveway was fixed in August 2019! AND there is a new Fisher Baby Bear woodstove in January 2020! The Top of the Buffalo Cabin was built with a very low carbon footprint. 95% of the wood used in construction was salvaged from local down trees after a devastating ice storm in 2009. Logs were gathered onsite and milled onsite for the building lumber. Stones for the foundation pillars were gathered from a local creek. The metal for the roof and siding along with the insulation material were reused from old chicken houses. And the windows and doors are all re-used from other buildings. Building design and construction techniques were based upon traditional Ozark practices, and minimal external energy was employed throughout the entire building process. There is a potable water tank in the loft of the cabin. The water tank is filled periodically from an excellent spring on the property, which is also used for our residence. The water flows from a spring by the creek into stainless steel tanks from which the water is pumped 300 vertical feet (via solar power) to the tank in the cabin loft from which it flows by gravity 6 feet to the sink below. So very low pressure. There is a solar shower bag which some guests use to shower, either by leaving it in the sun to heat or pouring in warm water. Please note that in the winter the water system may be completely frozen as the cabin is only heated by guests.
If you are looking for outdoor recreation, this area is perfect. World class hiking, mountain biking (right from the cabin door), rock climbing, and canoeing (in season), are all available. There are really good hikes on the Upper Buffalo Trails immediately accessible from the cabin. Then there is the very popular Whitaker Point/Hawksbill Crag hike--- beautiful but generally busy--- about 5 miles down the road. The Lost Valley hike in Boxley Valley is great. I really like the Buffalo River trail from the Ponca low water bridge to Steel Creek. It mostly meanders on the bluffs above the Buffalo River... out and back hike. One of the best which is adventurous, beautiful and challenging is Indian Creek/Eye of the Needle hike accessible from the Kyles Landing campground on the Buffalo. I have some favorite off the beaten path hikes in the Upper Buffalo Wilderness (just down the road) with exceptional visits to Native sites, waterfalls and remote forest requiring some orienteering as there are no complete direct trails to the adventure sites. If you are staying at the cabin, I will be glad to help with logistics and details. Oh, also Kings River Falls is a beautiful short hike (about 2 miles round trip) to a great waterfall swimming hole. It is a short drive from the cabin.... and many, many more. Just ask. ;)
  • this is a great cabin in a remote location, which provides its guests with a relaxing stay. there were some very nice touches, including string lights to set the mood and various games/activities. it does include utensils and other cooking supplies. it has toilet paper and paper towels, but i would suggest bringing your own. also very very close to Hawksbill Crag trailhead, which is a short but rewarding hike with a great lookout point. JUST TO CLARIFY: this cabin IS far from the main road. From highway 21, which maps will have you take if you’re coming from anywhere near Ponca, it will be a 14 mile drive on a rough dirt road. the first few miles has quite a bit of climbing, but it flattens out. we were able to make this drive in a 2 wheel drive sedan, even after it had just rained, so you don’t NEED 4wd, although it will make the drive easier. we DID however find an easier way to get there which requires you drive less on the dirt. it is off of highway 16. if coming from Ponca, it will be a longer drive, but a lot less distance on the dirt road. just something to note.

  • This place has so much intangible value: the forest noises, the fresh air, the lack of road noise, the sunsets, the beautiful buffalo creek, the stars. It was priceless. Go into your experience with an open mind and prepare to rejuvenated and transformed.

  • Fun and secluded. We did the glory hole hike and it was awesome. Stayed out there with a 2 year old, 4 year old and two dogs. It was awesome.

This cozy A-frame is in a secluded, yet convenient location to many of the hiking trails and access points to the Upper Buffalo. From the moment you arrive, you'll want to relax and reconnect with nature. Watch the wildlife from the back porch or enjoy the sunset while sitting around the fire. Close to floating, hiking trails, rock climbing, mountain biking, elk watching, zip lining, ATV/UTV riding, among many other things. Only 10 minutes to Ponca and 20 minutes to Harrison.
Both bedrooms have queen size memory foam mattresses to help you rest comfortably. One of the bedrooms is located in the loft overlooking the living room. In the main living room, there is a pullout couch with a queen memory foam mattress. Two full size bathrooms and two seating areas makes this small cabin comfortable for up to 6 people.
This property is in a great location close to the Upper Buffalo area. Nearby activites include hiking, canoeing/floating, rock climbing, mountain biking, fishing, horseback riding, ATV/UTV and dirtbike riding, watch the elk in Boxley Valley, among many other things.
  • This place is private and secluded, yet very close to some great hiking and biking. Big Bluff, Centerpoint trailhead, is very close by. It is a short drive to Ponca and the Buffalo River. The outdoor hot tub is an awesome add on. The host is very responsive and helpful. I highly recommend this A-Frame.

Misty Bluff is a two bedroom home that sits on the rim of the Arkansas Grand Canyon. Misty Bluff is perfect lodging to be near all the outdoor activities in the Jasper area, or to just sit and relax, and enjoy the scenery. It's the perfect setting for viewing the extraordinarily beautiful fall foliage. For water enthusiasts, the Buffalo National River is 13 miles down the mountain to Pruitt Landing.
  • Great location and amazing views!

    Chris2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • AMAZING VIEWS! The back deck opened right up into the Arkansas Grand Canyon which was beautiful during sunrise/sunset. Super close to a lot of really great hikes and wildlife. We made use of the grill out back as well as the heater downstairs which made the room super cozy. The jacuzzi tub was a wonderful addition and made for a perfect getaway weekend. Will definitely be back!

    Grace2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place with a spectacular view! We enjoyed our stay and Juergen made check in very easy.

    Austin2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • It was a beautiful home with a beautiful view. We spent the week of Christmas here and it was perfect. It is only a few minutes from a local grocery store, an hour away from the great shopping in Branson, and the views all over this area are incredible. The location is perfect. The views are amazing. I would definitely recommend staying here.

    Courtney2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Both my boyfriend and I were incredibly impressed by the cabin at Misty Bluff. We had a little bit of trouble finding the place, but Juergen was immensely responsive and helped us find the way in very little time. Upon our arrival, both of us were drawn to the incredible view; the pictures in the listing give you an idea of what to expect, but can't do the real thing justice. Perfect for watching the sunrise (and sunset) is a balcony off of the upper level of the home, accessed by a sliding glass door in the master bedroom (note: there are a few nails sticking out of the wood boards), in addition to a patio off the lower level's living space. Both provide a clear view of the mountains, especially since Juergen took the time to clear some of the surrounding trees. My favorite part, beyond the view, was the huge jacuzzi tub. It fits two people comfortably, a great feature for a romantic weekend. The rest of the cabin is pretty standard, but stands above other listings in that it's actually stocked with most of the things you'll need—a bar of soap and coffee being notable exceptions. Overall, Juergen's cabin at Misty Bluff is an exceptional choice for a couple or a group of friends, whether you plan to take advantage of the surrounding amenities or just relax for the weekend. Juergen is very friendly, super accommodating, and basically everything thing you'd want in an Airbnb host. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to stay in the area, and I truly hope we find a good time to return in the future.

    Emma2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • When we arrived we were blown away by this beautiful place. The cabin is clean, spacious, unique and has beautiful decor. The views from the patio and bedroom windows are breathtaking. We have never seen so many stars at night and such gorgeous sunrises before! The cabin is close to highway 7 and easy to find but at the same time feels very secluded. The two big beds are comfortable and the accommodations are great for 4 people. There is a rollaway bed for the 5th person which would be probably ok for a young child but not comfortable for a teen/adult. The kitchen is stocked with pots and dishes in case you want to cook in the cabin. Juergen is a great host! He responded quickly and gave us helpful advices and suggestions regarding places to visit. We definitely recommend this place!!!

    Marina2019-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time staying at Misty Bluffs! The views from both balconies are absolutely incredible! The cabin was very clean and the amenities in the house were great to have during our stay. The location is also pretty close to Jasper, which has a quaint downtown. Plus, Ponca isn't too far of a drive either so there are many activities and things to do near by. We would definitely stay at Misty Bluffs again!

    Taylor2019-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • The place was exactly as described and showed in pictures. We loved the jacuzzi tub and being able to look out at the valley through the big windows.

  • We really enjoyed our stay here! We’ve been thinking about getting a camper one day, and this was a fun way to see what it might be like. The place is located very close to the Buffalo and very easy to find. The property is serene and beautiful, with some cow friends. The trailer was very clean and had everything we needed! The only thing I’ll say if you’re not sure if you should stay here is this: the toilet room and shower are VERY small. We are short (5’3 and 5’7), and if we had been much bigger, we wouldn’t have been able to sit on the toilet! A wonderful stay—we wish we had had longer.

  • Very clean cabin. Nice spacious kitchen with plenty of counter space. It could use a few more kitchen items. There was a TV, but we couldn't use it. It needed to be hardwired to the internet. The porch was a great place to hang out. The sitting area near the river was amazing too. All around a great place to stay.

  • We loved our stay at Valley Mist Cabin. The cabin was rustic but with all the modern touches that make your stay comfortable. The bathtub with a view to the hillside behind the cabin was a welcome surprise and I spent a lot of time there! The staff at Buffalo Outdoor center were always very helpful and we stopped there at least once a day for a forgotten supply or to ask advice. They do warn you but just so families understand, there is literally no cell service most of the time that you are in the area. You can go to the store anytime you like and connect to the wifi, and that's what we did. Also, when you drive to nearby towns, you get signal once you get closer to them. We ended up desperately needing to get to a pharmacy on a Sunday, and were directed to drive to Harrison where there is a Walmart. That's what we did, however, that pharmacy was closed at the time, too. It all worked out and it was not the fault of Buffalo Outdoor employees at all. I just should've been more prepared and have learned my lesson. :) It is a BEAUTIFUL, remote area, and I would go back in a heart beat!!

  • We rented Mama Bear Cabin for a girl's weekend and it was perfect. The pictures don't do the place justice. It was clean, beautiful, and relaxing. Don't bother with paper plates and plastic forks, they have everything you need in the kitchen. The scenery was beautiful and felt remote despite the owners and Papa Bear being close by. My small Chevy Captiva (4 cylinder) couldn't make it up the steep gravel drive to get out but I called Diane and she sent a tractor to the rescue. We'll definitely be back just in a bigger vehicle!

  • This is one of the most beautiful, clean and well appointed cabins that we ever stayed in, with new appliances and a nice fresh wood smell throughout. It has all the amenities, including fire wood for the fire ring outside. The host came by briefly to greet us as we arrived, and was very helpful in suggesting that we pick some less known hiking trails from one of the books available at the cabin (we ended up on one of the nicest trails in the area, with multiple spectacular waterfalls, and we had it all to ourselves). I would strongly recommend staying at this cabin.

Windings Stairs Retreat is located within 1 mile of the Boxley Valley and Buffalo National River and borders the National Park Service. There are no immediate neighbors and the view from the back porch is AMAZING! Elk frequent the area and are occasionally seen from the porches. Access is easy as the cabin is located only a few hundred yards from highway 21, but far enough away that you can’t see the road.
A great place for a couples retreat or a family vacation! The master bedroom is an open loft with a king sized bed and has its own private bathroom. There is a corner jacuzzi style tub (no jets) in the room with a large window that encompasses the view from the back. It’s the perfect place to unwind and watch the sunset! Both the master bedroom and the living area have a Roku tv along with a Netflix subscription. Outside the cabin, wrap around porches provide plenty of outdoor sitting or room for the kids to play. The front yard holds a small fire pit which is great for sharing stories and making s’mores! We are currently working on a much larger pit in the back yard! Renters should note that we keep two outside cats (mousers) on the property for rodent control. The cabin is surrounded by woods and without them we would have too many unwanted guests!!!
The cabin is centrally located in the Boxley area. Ponca and Kingston are both less than 10 minutes away where you can grab gas or a snack. Lost Valley, Hawksbill Crag, Ponca low water bridge, and Steele Creek are only a short drive! If you love to hunt, fish, float or hike, or simply need to get away, this is the place to do it!!!
  • Beautiful place, completely stocked kitchen, much nicer on the inside than I had expected. Also a great location for hitting some of the most popular trails in the area. Would definitely stay there again.

  • My husband and I enjoyed a great weekend getaway! The weather did not cooperate with us for all of the outdoor activities we planned, but rest assured that we still enjoyed relaxing in the cozy cabin. (There are a lot of nearby hiking trails if you don’t get rained out!) The kitchen was fully stocked with all of the cooking utensils you could need, and my husband enjoyed cooking on the gas grill out back. I was so tempted to take one of the kittens home with us — they were very sweet. There is no cell service, but the WiFi was quick and reliable. I would definitely stay here again!

    Kristen2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing! Super close to some of the best hiking spots and beautiful views. The house has everything you need in it and is super clean and up to date. We loved staying here and hope to again soon!

    Sara2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I just spent a couple of days around Valentines day and could not have asked for one more thing. The space is just as advertised, perfect! We were able to check in and out with out problem. The cabin was sparkling clean and had every little thing we could have needed. We will be excited to visit again when its warmer and enjoy the porch and hammock.

    Carol2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a peaceful place to stay, this is it. The bed is very comfortable, the bathtub is amazing with a view, the deck and scenery are just a few things that make this cabin special. Nathan and Maggie were exceptional hosts. I cannot recommend this cabin enough.

    Lindsey2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting a quiet place to get away from it all.

    Casey2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • There are not enough stars to rate this amazing place! Check in was super easy, fresh flowers waiting for us, beautiful Christmas lights and a tree, a sweet handwritten note, and even chocolates as a gift for us for our anniversary! Maggie responded quickly if we ever needed anything. All the details were well thought out. Candles and bath bombs upstairs by the tub. And any little thing we normally have to bring to air bnb’s (I.e. bottle opener etc) they already thought of it. And SPEAKING OF bath tub... the view from the tub is amazing and was so peaceful for our trip. We also found great hiking trails nearby. This place was a dream for our anniversary getaway and was so much more than just a place to stay but really a much needed blessing for this stage in our life. Book this cabin!!

    Audrey2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is exactly as advertised, and the views are even better in person! The hosts are so helpful and made the checkin/checkout process quick and easy, they even supply a binder full of any questions about the cabin/activities in the area. We hiked to a beautiful waterfall nearby, saw amazing views from the buffalo river, and were even able to see the elk in the valley. If you want a secluded cabin with Mountain View’s, book this cabin. We cannot wait to book again.

  • This was a great stay. The cabin was beautiful! I love the art, it was all very interesting. This was no typical woodsy cabin. It was lovely! Everything we needed to cook a delicious dinner was there to use. All we needed to bring was the food. We wanted for nothing. The bed was very comfortable. I LOVED the large jetted tub. It was a perfect romantic getaway. I can'twait to visit again.

  • We stayed at the Haven for 3 nights with our 2 kids and 2 dogs. Jeff was a great host! Finding and checking into the Haven was simple. The cabin itself was in perfect shape. The personal touches like the s'mores were great! We didn't get to use them unfortunately due to a lot of rain while we were there. The cabin was within 20-40 min of every major hike we wanted to do. And only a 20 min drive into the adorable city of Jasper. We will definitely be coming back - well worth the drive from AZ! Thanks again Jeff!!

NEWLY RENOVATED - Please enjoy our newly updated cabin. Brand new flooring and paint. Brand new furniture and appliances. This cozy little split level cabin is ideal for anyone! The cabin includes a pillow top queen bed and a full bathroom as well as a nice sitting area. It also has a nice front porch and private balcony.
Enjoy the Scenic Beauty and Natural Wonders of the Ozark Mountain Region while staying in one of our Cabins! Surrounded by Ozark Mountain beauty, we are close to the Buffalo National River with lots of hiking trails just minutes away. We're only about an hour from Branson and Eureka Springs, but return to Little Switzerland Chalets and Cabins to relax in the quiet peaceful beauty of Newton Co

  • Holly’s place was amazing! It was secluded, which was exactly what we were looking for. We were able to unplug from the world for a couple of days. The views were wonderful! A great place for our anniversary getaway.

    Amy2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Surrounded by peaceful woods and beautiful mountains, Holly's cozy cabin was the perfect retreat for unwinding and escaping from the busyness of life for awhile. Our arrival was easy and pleasant and we had everything we needed for our weekend stay. Holly always answered my questions very promptly and had helpful materials at our disposal, allowing us to take full advantage of all the area had to offer. Additionally, we stayed right before Christmas and appreciated the holiday touches Holly placed around the cabin. We'd love to come back!

    Rose2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is a gem! It had everything we needed and more. We thought the snack exchange was a brilliant idea. The kitchen had all the items that we needed - utensils for grilling, cooking, and making s’mores. There was complimentary firewood and more than enough heaters needed for the cold weather. The view from the bedroom and deck was breathtaking and the pillows were incredibly comfortable. I recommend having a car that can handle dirt road and hills to get to the cabin. Other than that, it was a fantastic Airbnb - definitely one to return to again!

    Christie2019-12-09T00:00:00Z

This cabin is located in a great spot near many different trails! We hiked Hemmed In Hallow falls from the Compton trailhead. It was a tough hike but very rewarding. Sunday we hiked Lost Valley Trail and went to see Eden Falls. Definitely a must see!! Thank you Hansen for sharing your cabin with us.

Our secluded cabin sits on a mountain steps from the Low Gap Cafe, near the Buffalo River, between the towns of Jasper & Ponca. The cabin has three bedrooms (2 upstairs each with a queen bed, one downstairs with 1 twin bed & twin bunkbed, 1 twin in entry, 2 futon sofas), two remodeled bathrooms, central AC/heat, WIFI, Roku TV, small deck, large dining room table and lots of windows. 2 miles from Steele Creek, 4 miles from Ponca, 5 miles from Kyle's Landing, 9 miles from Jasper.
This is the perfect place for a couple, family with kids, or a small family reunion or gathering with friends. It is the perfect base camp for a floating trip on the Buffalo River. Very quiet and peaceful. Kitchen is fully equipped for cooking family meals and the dining room table is long enough for everyone. There are games, puzzles, movies, and books. We have Dish TV. The main floor of the cabin is the second floor. There you will find the kitchen, dining room, living room, two bedrooms with queen-sized beds, and a full bathroom. Downstairs is the laundry, a second smaller bathroom with a shower, an alcove, and the third bedroom with one twin bed and a twin bunkbed. There is an extra twin bed in the entry area. There are many windows and lots of sunlight. Relax on the deck and gaze up at many, many stars. Newton County is a dry county meaning no alcohol for sale so bring your own.
One of the best places to eat in Newton country is only a short walk down the dirt road -- the Low Gap Cafe. Walk the other way and you reach trails leading all the way to the Buffalo. Easiest access to the river is a short 2 mile drive down to Steele Creek, Ponca low water bridge and Kyle's Landing are also close. Jasper, the county seat of Newton, is where you will find gas, groceries, more restaurants, galleries, and the unique Emma's Museum of Junk (a must visit in Jasper). Float trip outfitters can be found in Ponca, including our favorite "Lost Valley Canoes". Be sure to visit the Elk center in Ponca and look for Elk in Boxley Valley.
  • Amazing cabin, so close to Horseshoe Canyon Ranch where we love to go rock climbing. Bright open space and love the beams! Relaxing and inspiring getaway. We’ll be back!

    Jordan2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place feels like home. It is very clean with updated kitchen cabinets, a Keurig, and updated bathrooms. It's within walking distance to the Low Gap Café which is one of our favorite places to eat. Also great hiking trails at the end of the road that you can take your dogs on.

    Cole2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful place to stay! We loved the seclusion of this cabin - it was so peaceful and provided views of the surrounding mountains in the winter with the trees having lost their leaves. The location was perfect for us, with a number of spectacular hiking trails all within 30 min drive. Check in was super easy, and Maribel provided really detailed instructions and recommendations on nearby places of interest before we arrived. The cabin had everything we needed to cook dinner after a day out hiking, plus many other things we never used! (e.g. new toaster, lots of pots and pans, muffin tin, waffle maker!!). We also appreciated having a washer and dryer (which looked new). All in all, a great stay - thank you, Maribel!

  • It was the perfect secluded getaway. If you want to truly get away from it all without sacrificing plumbing and a nice bed, this is the place for you. The kitchen was great, has most of the essentials. If you plan on using the oven bring a baking dish or some of the disposable aluminum dishes. We left behind measuring cups and spoons, other then that it was fully stocked. John was nice enough to provide coffee, creamer and even a basket of trail snacks and some water in the fridge. The place is absolutely wonderful, the view from the patio was amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We hope to visit again in the future. Thank you, John!

    Kat2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • John's place is awesome. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to 4x4 or hike. Clean and stocked. Great place in the middle of nowhere. Just what we needed.

  • John's place was the perfect location truly in the heart of the Ozarks. Glory Hole waterfall hike was just 3 miles down the road and easy access to tons of other hikes. It was just me and my pup , but would love to visit again with a large group and take advantage of the space and the fire pit. Thanks for a great stay, John!

  • Cozy, well equipped cabin space to relax at and rest before or after venturing into the Ozarks for hiking and other activities! Cabin is located in easily accessible location, has kitchen equipped with the essentials, plenty of hot water, and a nice common space to relax with a good sized group! Had a blast and would recommend, just make sure to get groceries in Fayetteville or other nearby locations before venturing to location so you are stocked up

    Anthony2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Loved the back deck, such an awesome view and place to sip coffee and watch sunrise!

    Trevor2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was everything we expected and more! My husband and I visited for our anniversary weekend. We really enjoyed the location being located centrally to a lot of hiking trails! You Definitely need to make the trip to Whitaker point and glory hole falls, well worth the hikes! Went to jasper for lunch at the ozark cafe which was amazing and dinner at Kaspers in Clarksville was also delicious with a great dining experience! Is about 30 minutes to any town with restaurants and a grocery store, etc so come prepared to the cabin with what you need or be ready for a drive. The grill outside the cabin worked excellent! The bed is was comfy and there was a nice washer and dryer, which is a plus for me! I have ATT and we had cell service but ONLY at the cabin, it is almost non Existent when driving around the area so come prepared with physical maps and/or screen shots to And from locations from your google maps while you have service. It was a great experience and we would return!

We're just minutes from the Buffalo National River, canoeing, great swimming holes, fishing, lots of fantastic hiking trails, and the quaint town of Jasper with it's unique shops and excellent restaurants. It's absolutely beautiful here! But, if you get tired if the great outdoors, Branson, MO and Eureka Springs, AR, are only about an hour away. There you can take in a show, spend the day at the spa or just shop til you drop. After all of that, you will be anxious to return to the peace and quiet of "Your Haven in the Ozarks".
  • Terrific cabin in close proximity to excellent hikes & scenery. It’s a sub-5 minute drive to a grocery store or Japer’s downtown food spots. The cabin is awesome! Grill works great, the hot tub is so nice and the sunset views are wonderful. Easy to cook food there with all the tools you need. Excellent place to bring your dog too. We loved it! The host was outstanding. She even helped me plan my proposal and went out of her way to sneak flowers in while we were hiking! If you are looking to explore the Buffalo River area, this cabin is an excellent home base.

  • A beautiful place to unwind and enjoy the views of the Ozark Mountains! It has everything you need and more to create some unforgettable memories! Campfire pit, pool table, ping pong, and it's close to the Triple Falls which was a cherry on top to our trip! The cabin was so well kept and clean (call dibs on the master bedroom....it is incredible with a gorgeous view) and Tricia honestly thought of all the necessities you may have forgotten at home! It was hands down the best way to kick off the New Year! Thank you again! ☺️

    Monika2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • We love this place! Quiet, serene, great views, close to town - the hot tub and game room are just bonuses!

    Rachel2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • This is an amazing location! I had a wonderful stay and will be back. The view, the hot tub, and the comfort of the home were really special and made my trip. Thanks Tricia!!

  • The Morwood House was everything we wanted in a weekend-getaway home & more!! We enjoyed breakfast & lunches in town. Highly recommend Ozark Cafe & Blue Mountain Cafe! Both so yummy! The town of Jasper is minutes from the house and was so convenient! At night, it was so nice being able to cook at the house and enjoy a night-in. The fire pit was a huge hit! Everything we needed was provided in order to cook. So helpful! Our pup enjoyed running the grounds & had his first encounter with a deer! RoundTop Mountain is just up the road from the house & we enjoyed hiking and seeing the beautiful views. We can’t wait to come back! Thank you for your wonderful hospitality!!!!

    Lana2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • The house has great spaces for groups of people with the game room and big area around the kitchen and dining room. There was just a couple of us and we still had a blast. The location is a good jumping off point for area trails and the town is just a few minutes away. Beautiful views, great experience.

    Chris2019-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • This place was amazing! Has everything you need and more. Awesome location. The hosts were great.

    Khamp2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely gorgeous property with plenty of room to stretch out. I highly recommend getting in the hot tub for sunset, because the colors in the valley were breathtaking. Everything was clean and the beds were comfortable. The game room was a very nice touch, which was great because it rained for half of our trip and we spent a lot of our time in there playing ping pong and shooting some pool. We will be returning to this property for sure!

This cute and secluded little cabin is situated in a beautiful nature setting, by itself and surrounded by woods. An on property hiking trail passes by the cabin and leads down to a pretty creek bottom. The cabin (a 400 sqft Pinnacle 'Montana" model) is equipped with a central A/C and heating system and has a small porch and deck to enjoy the outdoors.
  • This cabin is a must-stay in Arkansas! The surrounding scenery is gorgeous. The cabin itself is well kept, clean and comfortable. It is close enough to town for activities, and far enough away for restful relaxation. I highly recommend staying here.

    Joshua2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Very secluded. Super clean. Deer in our yard both mornings. WiFi worked great. Literally no complaints. Will return.

  • This was my 2nd time staying in one of Peter’s cabins, but 1st time in the Hickory. I love coming to stay!! It’s incredibly clean, comfy, the views are amazing and anything I need is there. Peter is always quick to reply if there are questions. Just a beautiful experience! Can’t wait to be back!!

    Cari2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second time staying here! It’s a great cabin for a weekend getaway.

    Cassidy2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Quaint little cabin near some good trails, with a fire pit and nearby creek. Very quiet and comfortable.

    Stephen2019-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place to relax. Everything was the way it was described. The hiking was a little farther away than we thought. We enjoyed Lost Valley and Haskville Craig. But well worth the drive. Bring your camp chairs for the fire pit. Great couples getaway! We will see you again Peter!

    Rhonda2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • A great small cabin. Come enjoy a relaxing weekend in the mountains. Every morning we woke up to a field of deer. It was quiet, peaceful, and the host replied to any questions very quickly.

    Alyssa2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I enjoyed our trip. We hiked the Whitaker Point trail. It was a nice drive and took about an hour from the cabin. The cabin was very clean and Peter was very responsive with any questions that we had during our stay. The cabin is stocked with everything that you need to cook. We used the charcoal grill one evening. There is also a great trail by the cabin and a fire pit in the yard. Great place to get away and enjoy the outdoors.

  • The Bunkhouse is a perfect place to stay when taking advantage of the great outdoors around Ponca. Super clean and comfortable. We loved using the fire ring and the rustic nature of this cabin. We would strongly recommend the Bunkhouse.

    Robert2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Billy and Veronica’s place was very welcoming. The bunkhouse kept us very warm on cold rainy nights. The kids enjoyed watching movies on their nice TV. We loved the outdoor kitchen concept because it still felt like camping. The roads were easily accessible to nice scenic dirt roads for ATV riding. The best part of our trip was the chance to star gaze while hanging out by the campfire. Veronica and Billy went above and beyond. We left our jacket and hat there and they were so kind to send it back to us. We can’t thank them enough. We will definitely be back!

    Nit2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Billy and Veronica were more than welcoming when we arrived and very helpful. My friends and I took a weekend trip to go hiking nearby and this was the perfect place! It is in a beautiful location and it is the perfect spot for a quiet weekend away. We loved having a campfire and watching Jon Wayne movies. Definitely recommend!

  • Just what we needed to keep from camping in the cold and rain!

    Jamie2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to stay! Be sure to take everything you would need if you are camping except bedding and towels! There is a fire pit, grill and mini fridge but you will need everything else! Great atmosphere, Billy and Veronica made sure we had everything we needed. We will be back!

    Leigh Anne2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Gracious host in a beautiful area, minutes away from great hikes.

    Billy2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Loved our stay at The Bunkhouse! This is a real outdoors cabin experience. We put our boys up in a tent right next to the cabin for a couple nights and they LOVED IT. Waking up to see a few elk, cows & horses was purely awesome. Anything we asked for they accommodated. This couple was outstanding in hospitality. When you come bring your kitchen item needs it is an outdoor kitchen experience which we LOVED just make sure you bring what you need! We cooked out all the nights we stayed and had a blast. The local spots like the Buffalo National River was spectacular and beautiful. This cabin let’s you get the camping experience with luxury. I highly recommend and we will be back!

  • Cabin was so cute! And very clean. View from the back porch is amazing !

    Mari2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Nice and quiet! We booked for a weekend in the winter and it ended up being a snowy day, which was great. The cabin is close to trails and scenic drives if that’s what you’re looking for. The views from the back porch are great, too. My favorite part was the fireplace. Hansen is super nice and quick to respond to any questions! Make sure to stock up on snacks and fill up your gas tank if you’re unfamiliar with the area. Also, if you’re bringing dogs, keep in mind that some of the neighbors have their dogs running around, too!

    Taylor2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Hansen was a very kind and helpful host. The cabin is charming, well appointed and certainly off the beaten path. We enjoyed our time at the cabin so much we barely left but when we did, we were perfectly situated for hiking and outdoor adventures. Highly recommend this listing and will definitely be back.

    Alek2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Can’t wait to come back for another adventure! A still point offers an excellent location off the beaten path and was just what my wife and I (and our Shepherd) were looking for! Coming down the 1 mile stretch of rough gravel road let us know we were in the right spot as the best spots aren’t the easiest to get to! If you’re looking for a quiet getaway with some awesome views then this is your spot!

    Andrea2019-12-30T00:00:00Z

  • Very nice cabin! Kitchen had everything we needed to make meals. The drive up to the cabin is quite the adventure! Grocery store and liquor store both a short drive away.

  • Clean quarters, comfortable furnishings & bedding, wooded mountain privacy yet close enough to town for forgotten items or strolling the shops. Easy access to the Buffalo River. Kitchen stocked with cooking utensils, pots, pans, dishes. There was even ice already in the freezer. The bunk beds were as comfortable for adults as they would be for children. Front porch comfy for conversations into the night. A lovely spot to get away and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature. Just what we were looking for. Fulfilled our needs.

    Sheila2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • This place is almost on top of a mountain and the views are great (which also helps with cell phone signal). The place is immaculate and well thought out for a family vacation. It is just far enough from town to be in the country , but close enough to run to the store in town if you need anything. The fire ring outside was a great hang out area for our family. We visited Kyles landing and stopped by Triple Falls . Also went to Paige falls and Broadwater hollow on the same day. All kid friendly hikes as we have a 3 and 7 year old. We also went to dine at Ozark Cafe on our way Hawksbill crag. Lost Valley was close at this time , as it is another kid friendly hike and cave our family loves. We got to see the Elk on Boxley valley before getting to Ponca. Mystic caverns were really close by , and definitely worth to check the formation. All in all this area is an Arkansas classic .

    Nestor2019-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • My group had a great time staying here. The cabin was comfy and the common areas were spacious, which was great for spending quality time together. The kitchen was fully stocked with appliances and cookware, so we were able to prepare lots of meals there. Located between Jasper and Harrison, it is a bit isolated, but that was perfect for us—the beautiful scenery and hiking nearby made that totally worth it. The cabin does not have internet access, though, so if you are planning on being in need of that during your trip, you may want to find a place in Jasper (about 10 minutes away) to frequent that has WiFi.

In horse and buggy days travelers would stop to rest and fill their water barrels before continuing on their journey. It took three days to travel the 18 miles from Jasper to Harrison and Little Switzerland was always the first stop before heading out over the rugged mountain terrain.
