  • Could not have asked for a better place to stay. The house clean and well taken care of. The view was amazing. Such a wonderful place to relax and feel like a kid again. The house is conveniently located next to the ferry and allowed easy access to Nova Scotia. The host is so sweet and very thoughtful.

  • Beautiful, tidy beach house. Close to the ferry and a short walk to a shared beach. Great spot if you want to get away from the busy parts of the island.

  • Travellers, Beachside Haven is summer paradise! so peaceful and clean. We were made to feel so welcome. Our family of four was very comfortable. We loved being a few steps from the red sandy beach and watching the seals bask in the sun from the dining room window. The kayaks were a really nice bonus and the girls loved having bikes to ride. We had a rainy day and there were ample books, toys and games to keeps the kids happy all day. We are so thankful for our time at Beachside and would certainly love to return.

  • BeachHaven is just wonderful - a perfect place to relax, make wonderful memories, and to enjoy the ocean - from crab seeking to beach fires, swimming and walks along the shore, it provides it all! Donna and Marty are such generous and warm hosts that clearly put so much effort into making BeachHaven a special place for all who stay. It's stylishly decorated and spotlessly clean - we would love to return one day! Thank you Donna and Marty for sharing BeachHaven with us x

Private cabin surrounded by trees, and only 5 km to town, 20 km to Melmerby Beach. Small kitchen, sitting area and 3 piece bath. Outdoor firepit, private parking. Pond in yard - great for winter skating.
We are close to New Glasgow and Stellarton, each have all the necessities including great takeout and eat-in restaurants. We are in the heart of Pictou County home of many great parks and beaches, the ferry to PEI is only a twenty minute drive from the cabin. Many of Nova Scotias attractions are an easy day trip from here. We love it here and hope you do to.
  • This was my fifth stay at Don and Karen's and it was just as great as all the other times. The cabin is always sooo nice and clean and cozy, tucked away in a little quiet and private corner of the property. All to myself. No one in sight. The bed was very comfortable and the little living room and well equipped kitchen has everything you’d need to stay there almost forever! Can’t wait for my next trip back to New Glasgow and will make it my 6th stay! Than after that it’ll be my 7th. And on and on.

  • Private cabin with everything you could need, minutes from town.

    Daniel2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • Don's cabin is a spot I would recommend to anyone looking for a nice spot to spend the night. The cabin is well located, close to town, clean as can be, comfy and warm, and Don is an amazing host and easy to communicate.

  • Confy cabin, easy to find and not far from the highway. Great stop for us, would stay again!

  • Great cabin very clean. It met all our needs. Very comfortable bed. Nice private quiet place we loved it

    Wade2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Don's cabin was as advertised - cozy and warm. It was clean and well stocked with kitchen and bath supplies and the host was available to assist with check in and answer questions. The dogs had a lovely time getting some exercise and enjoying the big yard. I would stay again.

    Marilyn2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second time staying at Don’s cabin. It was once again very clean and since it was a cooler day, they had the cabin heat on before my arrival. Nice touch! I’m hoping the cabin is available the next time I’m back in New Glasgow!

    Todd2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy small cabin on the edge of the woods, perfect for 1-2 person (s) traveling. It was very comfortable and had everything I needed to cook small meals, with a bar fridge to store food/drinks. Close to other people using the property, but it was very quiet and private. Just outside of town, so it has more of a rural feel to it, but close enough to town to run and grab anything.

  • This is a really nice spot and very good value. John and Karen are friendly and helpful. The views are lovely, the chickens are fun, and the unit is welcoming and well designed. Bery comfy bed. Will definitely go back and would highly recommend it to anyone. Easy drive to Stellarton, New Glasgow, Tatamagouche, Wallace, Pugwash. Even extended my stay by a day while I was there. • Great place, cool space would recommend

    Elicia2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • The Roost is incredible - both the space and view were a delight, and provided a well-needed break while working long days in the area. I don't think John & Karen coordinated the deer greeting us every morning, but I'm not sure I'd put it past them either! John popping up with fresh eggs was truly another lovely surprise. I would absolutely stay again, and look forward to my next work event in the area.

Located in a quiet, Old Forest setting these unique Cabins are amazing. The 4 individually themed Cabins and a central campground style Bathroom are on 7 acres of a creek valley. The Cabins were hand built from 1997 to 2008. The style and shape of each Cabin is unique, all have cathedral ceilings and lots of windows. Some places claim to be ‘rustic’ and try hard to be so, these cabins ARE what Rustic is, they do not try. These are Camping Cabins, so bring your camping gear or rent ours.
Each Cabin is uniquely constructed ranging from 600- 900 sq. ft. and they sleep from 4-8 people. Privately secluded from everything in a forest like setting. If you like brooks, trees, and rocks then you will love this. So named for a Great Man. Mikes Cabin has an Outdoorsman theme. Mike is a guest who has stayed at the cabins since 1998 and this one was built for him. It is Located on the main level of the Ravine and is the closest to the Bathroom facility. It sits on the edge of the a ridge overlooking one of the creeks. Mikes has 2 double beds in the loft and a sectional on the main with a double Pull-Out bed. It sleeps 7 adults and seats around 14. This cabin is a favorite with Families, Hunters, and travelers of all sorts. The Cabins are nestled into the trees of old forest canopy. The area is heavily wooded and the Cabins are located with 70's Shack at the top of the valley; Lumberjack and Mike's on the main level with the bathroom; Pier 3 is in the bottom of the Valley by the brooks and pond. An Aerial view of the area is captured in the last picture posted in The 70's Shack ad. All have Cathedral Ceilings and open lofts with beds, as well as porches and wood burning stoves. Fully powered with fridge, hotplate, microwave, coffee maker, toaster and grey water sinks. These are Camping Cottages, meaning you bring your own linen and cooking equipment. Basically bring everything you would for a camping trip other than your tent, cooler and airbed. The Cabins do not have running water, they have grey water sinks for doing dishes, water can be obtained from the centrally located Washroom building. The Washroom building is clean and modern with 36" Showers.
The cabins are very centrally located making access to places like Halifax and Cape Breton easy for day trips. Truro is under 30 minutes and New Glasgow about 20. We are about 25 minutes to the ocean and 3 beaches. Salt Springs Provincial Park for hiking is about a 5 minute drive.
  • Wonderful stay. Clean. Quick responses and very friendly. Looking forward to returning.

    Mike2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Mike's Cabin was the perfect spot for my birthday celebration with my husband. There was enough wood for the stove, the bed was comfortable, the views were beautiful, and cabin felt safe and cozy. There were other cabins nearby but I never heard the other visitors and we still felt like we had our privacy even with all of the windows. There are two mini-washrooms inside the washroom facility- each one has a sink, toilet, and shower. Its heated and the hot water doesn't take long to arrive when you turn on the tap. Finding the place was also super easy when using google maps. After posting photos of my weekend I had two friends who were interested in booking as well and they did book and they each had amazing experiences as well.

  • Amazing place to hangout 😍

    Shahzan2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • If you like exploring and being outside, then do yourself a favour and stay at this cabin! It is so much fun tending to the fire (both inside and outside), and the constant sound of the creek right beside you is really quite wonderful. Though it doesn’t have all the lavish amenities of most Airbnb’s (bring cookware, bedding and toiletries), the location and woodsy style cabin are totally enchanting.

    Elizabeth2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • One of the most unique experiences of my life. Great place, into the woods, really stylish. I'm going back there for sure.

Thornbank Farm is bursting with history and tranquility. Rev. James Ross established The West River Seminary and Theological Hall here at this very site. Ross would later become President at Dalhousie University, Halifax, NS. The Farm is located on the east side of the West River, between the Durham and Lochbroom Bridges. It is nestled out on a peninsula along the West River. Fields, eagles, and giant old growth Maple trees compliment the overwhelming peacefulness of the West River.
Guests to Thornbank are welcome to wonder the fields and 10 acre property along the river. A dock at the river provides a launching point for the two paddle boards available here for use. Feel free to go for a swim as well or just hang out in the Adirondack chairs at the river. A large bonfire pit is a welcoming end to an evening, and guests are more than welcome to enjoy a nice evening fire and marshmallows;)
There are plenty of wonderful natural areas to explore within a short drive from Thornbank. Fitzpatrick’s Mountain in the village of Scotsburn has great hiking and mountain biking trails. Tennis courts can also be found in the village. The Northumberland Strait is just 15 minutes drive and offers wonderful beaches and picnic opportunities at Caribou-Munro’s Island Provincial Park. The historic town of Pictou, Birthplace of Nova Scotia, is only a 10 min drive away. The towns of New Glasgow, Westville, Stellarton, and Trenton are also all under a 20 minute drive.

  • Chris is very kind and friendly, place was spotless and met us for check-in. He had some good recommendations of where to eat in the area. It snowed overnight so he shovelled a path for us and cleaned off our car! A 5 star host!

    Rebecca2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Had a nice couple of quiet days here. Thank you.

    Alex2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Chris is a wonderful host and great for communicating and keeping in contact. Wishing the weather would have been nicer so we could have explored the outside but that just means we will have to come back in the summer. Highly recommend, price is great and the location is beautiful!

    Starr2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Nice little apartment with everything you need, nice hot shower with bath tub, coffee maker, stove, wifi and much more. Chris brought us 2 beers from the local brewery which we enjoyed a lot. He responded imediately to our messages. It was very cold outside (-20°C) when we stayed here. Make sure to bring some slippers cause the floor gets quite cold. We really enjoyed our short stay. The little farm looks beautiful!

    Tina2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • Thornbank Farm was a sweet secluded spot to spend the night in a winter wonderland. Chris and Bea (his beautiful dog) were amazing hosts that were very accommodating and helpful. It's a beautiful property in the country and a great little get away. We're hoping to go back in the summer sometime to enjoy the river. I will definitely recommend Thornbank Farms to friends and family. Thanks again Chris!

    Marlinda2020-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean, cute place!! Love that it’s a heritage property. It’s location off the road by the river is perfect!

    Marley2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Chris's place was just the getaway I needed. Between the peaceful and beautiful surroundings to the cozy and comfortable amenities. My few nights here on the farm were perfect. Chris had great suggestions when I wanted to go out for dinner and he was quick to respond any time I had questions or needed anything. I visited during the winter - would love to see the spot in the summer!! Thanks Chris!

Murray Harbour is very scenic. Population between 300-400. There is a grocery store that has wine ,beer and spirits and a little of everything. There is a garage, two restaurants... Harbourview Restaurant, #5 Cafe ,a post office , library and community centre .
  • We had SUCH a positive experience with this place! Everything was beyond our expectations ; we can't wait to return!! And just to share with the world what type of people these gals are...she drove an hour out of her way to deliver one of my daughter's bags that was mistakenly left behind at the house. True Maritime hospitality! Many thanks again :)

    Tammy2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely loved our stay in the Church Hall. The place instantly felt like home and I wish we could have stayed longer. Murray Harbour is quaint and friendly. Sunrise along the water is breathtaking! Dinner at #5 was also a highlight. I would strongly recommend a stay here. The East Coast has so much to offer and this is a perfect home base. Thanks to Paula and Lori for their hospitality.

    Stacey2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Paula and Lori's renovated Church Hall is quaint, cute, and spacious all at the same time. It has lovely design elements (sliding doors to two bedrooms), nice lighting, huge two person shower). The space is open (kitchen to dining room with a bit of separation to living room) and so bright and lovely with windows everywhere - loved the light in the space. I can't imagine anyone not liking and enjoying there time at this rental. A great deck and outdoor space as well with beautiful flowers and view of the water.

    Yvette2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • The Church Hall is not your average cottage! We knew from the website that we had booked something special but the pictures did not do it justice. To put it simply, this place is gorgeous! And thank you to Paula and Lori for the lovely bottle of champagne. You certainly helped make our 35th wedding anniversary a memorable one!

    Rosemary2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • A great place to stay! All the room you need with all the amenities you need. Paula and Lori were terrific hosts. A great location as well. Highly recommended!

  • We were three people staying at the Church Hall in Murray Harbour and all of us loved it. Outside were lovely flower boxes and inside it was equally inviting and clean. There were plenty of bathrooms and lots of space. We wished we had allocated more time to stay in this sparkling place. We recommend it highly. Lori and Paula, you should be proud! Elfriede

    Elfriede2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • This place was absolutely PHENOMENAL. Everything was posh, clean, and organized. There were little touches everywhere throughout the space that really made you feel at home. Parking was easy, the space was spotless, the water pressure was great, I literally cannot think of a single complaint or suggestion to make this place better. Would 100% stay again, it was lovely.

This cottage is located on Caribou Island along Waterside Beach. We are located approximately 1.5 hours from Halifax, and 10 minutes away from the historic town of Pictou. The cottage houses 5 people comfortably. The kitchen is equipped, just come armed with your own food and perhaps a bottle of wine or something else fun to sip on from the many distilleries. The cottage is a stones throw away from the water and a beautiful sandy beach.
  • Very clean-lined furnished cottage with rustic charm. Sunsets are amazing and with close proximity to many of Nova Scotia's attractions make this a delightful place to stay. Beachcombing when the tide is low provides great entertainment and treasures!

  • We had a wonderful time at the cottage. The sunsets were amazing. There is a fair amount of seaweed on the beach to cross, but once you are over there is lovely sand and wonderful sand bars. Great for kids.

  • This was a great place. It is well stocked with amenities, soap, paper products, coffee, condiments, etc. Joan was great, very fast to respond to questions and very helpful. She added very nice touches, fresh flowers, and even brought us by some treats! Her place had wonderfully clean bathrooms, ample towels, and lots of artistic oddities all around. I enjoyed grilling, while looking out at the bay. We hope to come back and stay again.

    Marcia2019-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at Joan's place! Joan was incredibly kind and made us feel very welcome in her home (she even had easter tulips ready for our arrival)! We brought our dogs with us (we live in the city and we don't have a backyard for them to enjoy) and they were in heaven! Joan has a big, beautifully fenced in yard and lives near a private beach where we spent lots of time daily playing fetch with the dogs! Joan's home was gorgeous and very well cared for. We will definitely be going back!

    Kara2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • AMAZING! We would highly recommend this beautiful, well-appointed, quiet space with its water view, woodstove, full kitchen, comfy beds, and large deck. We had a great stay and Sarah was very responsive. We had a couple extra requests as we brought our 7 month-old in November and she was amazing! You need to stay here!

    Ian2019-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • Had a lovely weekend at Sarah's cottage. My partner and I, along with our pooch stayed for two nights. The cottage is clean, modern, well equipped and has a nice view of the lake. Sarah was great at communicating with us when we had questions. Would love to come back when it's warmer to take advantage of the large deck and firepit.

    Holly2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay- the cabin had a great layout and offered all the amenities we needed for a couple nights stay. The place was family friendly and offered excellent lake/ocean views from the kitchen and bedroom. Sarah was easy to communicate with and let us know in advance for what to expect during our stay.

  • I’ve been twice now and I don’t believe it will be my last. It’s a beautiful spot to stay if you’re in the area.

Located at the base of the Ravine, Pier 3 has a nautical theme with boats, traps, ropes, pulleys, and even an anchor. It is bordered by a pond on one side and a creek on another. Likely the most private spot it is also farthest from the Bathroom facility. Pier 3 has 2 double beds in the Loft and long couch on the main, so could sleep 5. The backyard has a fire pit with some log benches, when you are sitting by the pond it is just Gorgeous!
  • A great rustic getaway in a beautiful setting

    Bryde2019-11-21T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed there for the weekend a week and a half ago and we loved it so much we extended our stay by an extra night. We arrived to this beautiful and cute place at night time, Jerry had the fire already going for us and the cottage was so cozy. We woke in the morning to the sound of the river and ventured out for a little forest walk. Town is just a 20 minute drive away, so we could restock on anything we needed. The showers were hot and bathrooms were clean. We could not have loved this place more.

  • My girlfriend, her dog and I stayed in the Pier 3 cabin for the entire month of October. Everything from living in the cabin to shopping at the local farmers market on Saturdays to hiking around the local forests looking for waterfalls, owls and hidden graveyards...it was a superb experience and I would recommend it to anyone who is seeking peace of mind. A couple things that took some getting used to in the cabin was the grey water sink --- basically whenever you run out of water from using it for washing dishes, making coffee or cooking you need to walk up to the bathroom building to fill up your jugs, then walk back down to the cabin with jugs full of water. Another speed bump was the fact that the stairs that led up to the beds were too steep for our dog, so instead of leaving him sleeping alone downstairs we opted to sleep on the pull out couch for the entire month (which surprisingly we got used to). All in all it was a lovely month. Jerry and his two dogs were terrific hosts and we are very grateful that we got to experience the cabin life for ourselves. Thanks again Jerry! All the best.

  • What a great place to stay. Private, deep in the woods, and completely rustic. Definitely a place to go to get away from it all.

    Matthew2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Our family had a fantastic time at the Blue Caboose. The location is private and secluded - the only noises at night were the crickets. It’s out of the way of all the tourist hustle and bustle (which is exactly what we wanted) yet it is within a short drive of everything you need including beautiful beaches. The provided conveniences like sunscreen and insect repellent, beach towels and umbrellas, even a cooler and ice pack made our stay incredibly fun and stress free from the moment we arrived. We will be back!!

    Agata2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Our second year at the Caboose was just as fun as the first, and we're happy with the decision to stay a full week--it was restful and beautiful as always, with the beach a short distance away and some really excellent fries from the Chuckwagon. For next year I plan to treat all our clothes with insect repellent because they are ravenous! Highly recommend.

    Alex2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • The Blue Caboose is wonderful! It was a gracious space for 2. It has all of the needed items and amenities; and the bed is super comfortable. There are many tips and travel brocures available for investigating as well. A very nice place to stay.

    Lorena2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • If you want seclusion this is the spot! There isn't much to do besides going to the shore (a 5 min walk down a road) to walk on the sand bar or go clan digging, or drive a distance to visit tourist attractions. The Prim Point Chowder House is near by but you need to book months in advance to get a seat. If you want to be close to the one(s) you're with this is the spot! There's a very comfortable Queen bed, lovely bathroom, and the living space (the Caboose itself) is small. There's a love seat you can pull out for an extra bed or to cuddle close on to enjoy a movie or TV program. You will have all you need from the kitchen, except food (which wasn't expected!). The yard space is inviting. Staying in The Blue Caboose is a pretty neat experience. Lots of history. The "neighbourhood" seemed safe and quite. The accommodation was very clean and well maintained.

    Angela2019-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful housing, with an exceptional layout, in a very quiet environment. Leslie is very attentive and responds very quickly to our messages. The tip of the East is worth discovering and Caboose is a good starting point if you like to ride, because it's a little out of the way. We loved our week and would have liked to stay a little longer.

    Dominique2019-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great little spot :)

    Quinn2019-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic spot to stay in! Loved the caboose and the entire place is super clean. All of the extras included were a nice surprise. We took advantage of the boots and shovel to walk 5 min down the road to go clam digging. The location was nice and quiet and we had the best sleeps ever there. Lots of information provided for the area as well. Loved every minute here!!!!

  • We had rented a cottage just a few feet away in 1986. It was nice to be back at Point Prim! Cottage met all our needs it was clean, with comfy bed and lots of hot water. Best part was walking down the red dirt road to the The Chowder House. We had dinner there 2x and a night cap to watch a beautiful sunset on another. Great to be back to the East coast. Would recommend Peter and Wendy’s cottage!

    Judy2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful cottage which is so unbelievably well equipped, comfortable, immaculate and in one of the most peaceful setting we have ever visited. We were greeted upon arrival and given great tips on local “don’t miss” sites! Peter and Wendy created a very memorable experience for us.

    Jackie2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Sunset Cottage. Peter greeted us upon arrival, showing us the cottage and explaining things. The cottage was extremely clean, it’s very open while cozy at the same time. It's nicely decorated. There was a separate bedroom which we used as a giant walk in closet, loved that. The kitchen was well supplied. We were provided with coffee, cream, and bread and butter. We were also invited to pick fresh herbs from the greenhouse. We were able to walk to the shore via a short, mowed path and then along the rocky coast at low tide. We saw a couple of seals on an early morning walk. We were able to see a spectacular sunset from a cottage window. The lighthouse is close, but neighboring trees block viewing it from the cottage. Water views are from a distance. Peter’s communication was excellent during the booking process. We didn’t have any interactions with anyone after check in, but I’m sure we could have knocked on their door if we needed anything. AS an aside, the Chowder House down the road was excellent, we ate there two out of three nights, everything we had was great. They easily accommodate 2 person walk-ins. They are a seasonal restaurant, FYI....

  • If you love peace and quiet and the ocean nearby combined with a lovely amazingly clean and comfortable cottage, you will love Sunset Cottage! Wonderful hosts! Surrounded by fields, plus a lighthouse, a restaurant not to mention the ocean all within a short walk this is a delight. Highly recommend a stay here.

    Barbara2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely area. We arrived later in the day. The cabin was ready and very tidy and clean. We met Peter shortly after and with his suggestion made a reservation for dinner down the road. Everything was great!

    Rachel2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, quiet spot. You can expect a very clean & organized spot with great hosts. A perfect place to relax.

    Glen2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Peter and Wendy were wonderful hosts and the cottage was perfect for our family of four! We loved the location next to the lighthouse and a terrific restaurant. The sunsets were phenomenal. We even saw seals from the point— bring some binoculars! (Our hosts even provided bikes for the short ride to the point!) The cottage itself was PERFECT. We couldn’t imagine a more comfortable, well-appointed cottage.

Nestled along the banks of Chance Harbour, we would love to be a part of your Maritime Experience. Offering the warmest waters north of the Carolinas, wake up to beautiful sunrises and watch gorgeous sunsets, with the ocean as your front yard. We are offering a brand-new, privately-enclosed, self-contained, 1000 square-foot walkout basement suite overlooking the beautiful Northumberland Strait on a private sandy beach.
A 15 - 20 minute drive from the picturesque small-towns of Pictou County, including New Glasgow, Trenton, Stellarton, and Pictou, where you will find shopping, restaurants, gym, farmers markets, Sam's Pizza, and other amenities. We look forward to welcoming you to our little piece of Heaven on Earth. No smokers please. No pets allowed.
We are a small beach community called Chance Harbour, with approximately 20 other privately owned cottages in the surrounding neighbourhood. This private paradise is located on the Northumberland Strait (home to the warmest ocean water temperatures in Canada, and some of the warmest ocean water temperatures on the Atlantic coast north of Virginia) in Pictou County, near the charming small-towns of New Glasgow, Trenton, Stellarton, and Pictou. Our home is set up on a hill and bordered by trees and ocean so our location is very private. We are located approximately 90 minutes, by car, from Halifax Stanfield International Airport (YHZ), and it will take about an additional 20 - 30 minutes to get into Halifax City Centre. A short, 20 minute drive to the PEI Ferry Terminal from your Gone Coastal accommodations makes a day trip exploring Canada's smallest province, doable.
  • My husband and I have stayed in many Airbnb's as we travel a lot for business. This is definately our favourite airbnb to date! The location and views are incredible. Only 20 minutes to New Glasgow and 20 minutes to pictou. The beach is stunning.... sandy and private. The host, Claire, is quick with responses and so very sweet. The space is sparkling clean and the attention to detail is superb. I would highly recommend this place. Absolutely amazing and very affordable.

  • the Home is exactly as described plus some. It is extremely clean and well appointed. Everything you need is there for your use. Lots of blankets, extra pillows, towels, coffee, tea and sugar. As well as some toiletries. A small market and liquor store are only 6km away. Our charming, spotless seaside cottage melts away stress. It sits on a breathtaking 800 feet of easily accessible private sandy beach with warm swimmable water. Beach walks, canoeing, clam digging and star gazing will fill your time. This well equipped & quintessentially maritime cottage is perfect for a family that wants to connect with nature and one another. Many interesting Eastern PEI day trips, museum & restaurants are nearby if you can pull yourself away from the amazing views. .
Beautiful & simple cottage on 800 feet of private sandy beach. This charming cottage is well maintained, well equipped and perfect for a family that wants to connect with nature and one another. One large open concept room with large sturdy dining table, full kitchen with all new cabinets and appliances, separate new construction bath with new tub/shower combination, large screened in porch and living area with two new sleeping futons with fresh linens as well as a real bed in the loft area that sleeps two more. This cottage is all new construction, with brand new appliances, pine floors, and large wrap around deck with amazing ocean views. Wooden stairs descend to the warm, safe waters of the Northumberland Straight where swimming, canoeing (canoe and paddles and life jackets are provided), clam digging, muscle hunting and beach lounging await. There are only a couple of other homes nearby and they are seldom used. Often the beach as far as the eye can see is all ours for days at a time. This cottage is NOT in a subdivision with many other cottages nearby. This is one of very few large wooded, oceanfront country lots, never farmed or subdivided. It is on an unusually large, private and scenic 10 acre oceanfront lot with 800 feet of beachfront. The cottage interior is lovely, all new and simply decorated in a clean, cheery style. Two new futons (with memory foam mattress toppers available) in the main room fold out and sleep four. The sleeping loft above sleeps two in a double bed. To get to the loft you have to go up a ladder, so older people or those with little children might prefer to sleep on one of the two comfortable downstairs futons. Fully equipped cottage kitchen with brand new pots and pans. Seating for five on the screened in porch with new outdoor dining set. Outdoor shower with warm water. Huge panoramic ocean views. Hear the waves crash as you sleep. No phone, no internet, no TV and you won’t miss it. Berry picking, clam digging, reading, story telling, canoeing, muscle hunting picnicking, bird and rabbit watching will fill your time. The cottage does have good cell phone reception. Many Eastern PEI daytrips are also close at hand--Roma Three Rivers Historic Village, two golf courses, spa and beachfront horseback tours, Elmira Railway Provincial Museum, the famous white Singing Sand of Basin Head Beach (always voted PEI's best beach), and the Fisheries Museum are just some of the easy daytrips. Ice cream and candy store, fish and chips shack and tourist information center (with free internet access) are only a five minute drive away. Also just down the road ( 2-3 minute drive) is a provincial park with laundry, playground, and small store. The Rossignol Winery and Vineyard with wine tastings is about a five minute drive away. The towns of Montague and Murray Harbour are both an easy 15 minute drive. Try the character filed and well reviewed destination restaurant, #5 Cafe in Murray Harbour. There are many charming restaurants with homemade PEI food, community concerts and celeighs, harbor cruises, and historic sites within a 15-20 minute country drive of this cottage. The bustling city of Charlottetown is 45 minutes away. Here you’ll find theatre, fine dining, big box shopping, farmers markets, and boutiques.
Eastern PEI is our favorite part of the Island. We love the authenticity of the people, the activities, cultural venues and restaurants. There's a lot to do with a 20 minute drive of our cottage and Cavendish and Charlottetown are only about 45 minutes away. But, Eastern PEI has a distinctly more authentic feel than other parts of the Island in the summer. Brehaut's Restaurant is a local favourite--sit on the Adirondack chairs on the big front porch while waiting for a table and you'll find yourself chatting with many friendly local people. This restaurant serves homemade pies, chowder and great milkshakes and burgers. Just a five minute drive from the cottage is an old-school candy and ice cream store located at the Wood Island's Visitor Centre, and just a few miles in the other direction is the Rossignol Winery with wine tastings, local art and award winning local wines for purchase. Two lighthouses are also nearby as well as one of PEI's most authentic ceilidh venues, the Murray Harbour Community Centre with family friendly evening concerts featuring local dancers and musicians of all ages. Also nearby is the historic village of Roma Three Rivers, a Acadian cultural site with kid's camps and activities, a daily heritage lunch, Pioneer festival, garden tours, heritage trail hikes and interpretive tours of their beautiful and well preserved site. Brudenell River Provincial Park is also a popular day trip from the cottage. Guided horseback trail rides are very popular here as are the daily interpretive programs, the on-site spa and the Brudenell River and PEI Dundarave Golf Courses.
  • Wonderful cottage by the sea! Excellent hosts and beautiful scenery. Would definitely visit here again.

  • Perfect setting private ocean front just perfect

    Kim2019-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • This place is absolute heaven on earth. The host was very helpful, and check in and out was super easy. The only downfall was that we had to leave. 10/10 5 stars love it!!!!!!!

    Madison2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • This place was a wonderful spot to relax and enjoy privacy and quietness right on the ocean. The screened porch was a lovely place to enjoy morning coffee and relaxing to the sound of the ocean. We spent hours exploring the beach at low tide, looking at the marine life and searching for treasures. The sleeping arrangements could be better. Even with the foam toppers, the futons were not comfortable and the loft was not an option for me as a senior. Overall, I would highly recommend this place.

  • If you are looking for a cozy, fun, beachside cottage that is relatively close to things on PEI, this place is for you! John was fantastic! We where so impressed! He took care of so many details most other AirBnB’s miss. We had lots of fun doing some fun activities he suggested, like Clamming. He was also very easy to communicate with, and answered all of our questions, and believe me, we had a lot. We are looking forward to another trip to the Island and staying with John through AirBnB again soon!

    Natalie2019-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at John's seaside cottage. The view was second to none, and the landscaping and cottage were beautiful. We got so many amazing photos (so many Insta-likes!), and even tried our hands at clam digging! Made some wonderful lifelong memories exploring PEI, but also just playing cards in the screened-in porch. Be sure to read the orange binder - so many helpful tips and local recommendations. We can't wait to go back!

  • This cottage was our absolute favourite spot that we stayed in during our 15 day East Coast Adventure! We enjoyed long walks at low tide as a family, searching for clams but ultimately just enjoying the scenery. We loved the dramatic cliffs and views. One afternoon we even took the canoe out around the point and discovered another awesome sandy beach with water the temperature of a bathtub. Truly amazing. The layout is great, and the kids enjoyed sleeping in the loft. We loved that it was off-the-beaten-track and that every morning and afternoon we could spot the seals playing and eating in the distance out front. We discovered the little fish hut at the wood Island Ferry and loved their fresh ready to go food. We did a trip into Charlottetown for an afternoon, dinner and Anne of Green Gables musical but for the most part we stayed at the cottage and just soaked it all in. Would highly recommend.

  • This is a cute cottage located right on the ocean. It was very nice to find lots of books, board games and puzzles to enjoy when we arrived. The screened in porch is a fantastic spot to enjoy meals and play games.

Percy Hill is a beautifully restored century-old farmhouse, located in the southeastern region of Prince Edward Island. It is named after it's last owner, Percy McPherson, whose family has farmed this beautiful piece of land since 1885. • Sebastian's place is awesome!! So much space and very clean. I love all the windows! I'd definitely recommend!

  • The house is located in peaceful settings, it has all you need for cooking, reading, or simply enjoying the tranquility of rolling hills of the country side. There are beautiful beaches in short drive distance and some simple food options. We spent a week there during hurricane and last three days were without power. Sebastian took such a good care of us during this time it allow us to relax and fell like we were still on vacation despite the storm. So we say - If you got stuck on the island due to hurricane - Sebastian’s place is the place to be!

  • We had such an amazing time, the house is wonderful, so much more than we excepted. The views are stunning and the house has so much space for all our family. Sebastian was a super host, truly could not have done more for us. Everything we asked for he provided and went the extra mile to ensure we had a lovely Christmas. We really appreciated everything that was done for us. We visit the Island a lot and really hope we will be returning to this house. Absolutely a true home away from home. Thank you.

  • Andrea & Shawn went out of their way to help me out during an huge snow storm. I contacted them at 3pm without a reservation and they had their driveway shovelled by hand an hour later to make sure I could park for the night. On top of that, Shawn was out again at 6:30am the next morning to help clear the 30” snowbank so I could go to work. Now that is what I call great device!! Will look the up again for sure.

The location is great for traveling around New Glasgow and surrounding area. The Captain Quarter’s has a lot of stairs to get into so you need to be able to carry your luggage and manage stairs. It’s worth the climb😊.

    Lara2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Such a gorgeous spot and Lori & Stephen have given careful thought to offer all the conveniences of home. We cooked breakfast together in the expansive kitchen area. We played games in the quiet area overlooking views of the ocean. The private beach offered glorious views of the sunsets. Truly a special place!

    Heather2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • The pictures do not to this place justice. An absolutely rejuvenating stay for the whole family. We stayed late september and the weather was amazing, we got at least 4 beach days while we stayed. My kids loved sitting on the sunset deck and watching the sunset after running up and down the very private beach. This is our first Airbnb stay and we couldn't have been happier with how everything turned out. Lori stopped by on our second day to make sure we were making ourselves at home and to answer any questions. The area is rural, but close to gas station, restaurants, small grocery store/liquor store, a dog park, kids playground etc. so we barely needed to leave the area. Some small things that we really enjoyed: Almost every light had a dimmer switch which made winding our kids down in the evening even easier. Big colorful beach towels were awesome to have when going down to the beach Electric griddle - great for cooking breakfast! If you are looking at this place and apprehensive about booking - BOOK IT! You won't regret it.

    Backwoods2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay here, beautifully decorated home in a private area with a beautiful beach. It was so relaxing to sit on the beach with my morning coffee and then take a long beach walk. The beds are comfortable, bathrooms modern and everything was spotless. Close to ferry & good location for exploring the east coast. I highly recommend Lori & Stephen's beach house.

    Linda2019-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • First I would like to say it was greatly appreciated that Lori and Stephen gave us the option to cancel last minute due to the impending storm Dorian. However we made the choice to go ahead and stay. It didn't disappoint, our first night was beautiful. The location was just breathtaking. Went for a walk along the beach and had a campfire under the stars. Very peaceful and quiet. Our second night was the storm but the hosts were very thoughtful and brought some extra candles and lanterns and a jug of water. The wood stove came in handy when the power went out, able to boil some water and make coffee for the morning. I would definitely stay again, even despite the storm it was a very relaxing stay.

    Anne2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is one of the best hidden gems in PEI! Beautiful property located right on a private beach (no tourists!) and we even had a view of the fireworks from our windows! The kitchen is fully stocked and there are plenty of bath and hand towels provided. There’s even a closet full of firewood and kindling so that you can have a bonfire on the beach! The main floor den also has a pull-out couch and TV, which came in handy. The hosts are wonderful and left the place very clean for us. Overall, an amazing experience! We look forward to coming back!

    Sarah2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful beach house, and the Lori & Stephen thought of everything. A wonderful location and a wonderful house, clean and with everything you need.

    Nick2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Lori and Stephen have a beautiful home and are wonderful hosts!! We stayed with our three small children who loved the private beach and all of the seashells that they collected. The water was so warm to swim in. The house itself was sparkling clean with clean and very comfortable beds! Loved their decor so much and how bright their space is. The location is very private and a great getaway from the business of the city!

We enjoyed our stay at this place and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in Pictou County. Lots of room and comfortable beds. We appreciated how clean the place was and the location was close to everything we needed.

  • Had a wonderful stay ! both Greg and Leanne were very accommodating, as I had to check in a bit early. They were great in keeping in-touch with me before I arrived and after. Their place couldn’t of been more clean, convenient and a nice home away from home! Would definitely recommend!

  • Greg’s home was super clean and comfortable. It had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. If in the area again we would definitely seek out Greg’s Airbnb as a place to stay.

  • A great place for families (or girls nights or couples weekend) with a pool table/ping pong table and a ginormous TV. It felt like we were at grandma’s house, with an authentic old time homestead feel - beautiful hardwood floors, grand staircase and quirky layout. Leanne and Robert were wonderful and helpful hosts. Couldn’t have asked for better communication and kindness.

  • This spacious home has great bones, we found out from Greg it was built in the late 1800’s! Its ideally located downtown, next to Carmichael Park, along the rejuvenated East River, with close access to a walking trail, the Samson trail. The house is stylishly decorated and has super comfortable beds; a great large screen tv to watch movies. Greg and Leanne were very attentive hosts and prompt to respond when we had questions. Our daughters said, ‘it’s the best Airbnb we’ve stayed in’ (we’ve stayed in quite a few!). Thanks again for a lovely stay!

  • This is my favourite place to stay in Stellarton. Such a charming house and despite its age, very cozy and comfortable on cold nights.

These are Camping Cabins, so bring everything you need including cookware.
Each Cabin is uniquely constructed ranging from 600- 900 sq. ft. and they sleep from 4-8 people. Privately secluded from everything in a forest like setting. If you like brooks, trees, and rocks then you will love this. Basically bring everything you would for a camping trip other than your tent, cooler and airbed (or for $10 cleaning fee you can rent bedding and dishware/cookware). The Cabins do not have running water, they have grey water sinks for doing dishes, water can be obtained from the centrally located Washroom building. The Washroom building is clean and modern with 36" Showers. The Lumberjack is the Largest Cabin. It sleeps 9 and seats around 20. The Cathedral ceiling is about 16' ft high. Decorated in a Lumberjack theme with lots of saws and gear from old school Logging. This chalet style cabin has 2 Double Beds in the Loft, a Double Sofa bed on the Main as well as several couches and a cot. With seats for around 20 and a great Backyard with log benches and a firepit this cabin makes entertaining easy.

  • Jerry's cabins are exactly where you need to stay when you are looking to get away. Very private, rustic cabins. We will definitely be returning.

    Chay2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Always look forward to the cozy cabin feeling. The lot layouts allow privacy but you’re still close to the bathroom facilities. Great place and great value!

    Krysten2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Nice quiet little place thanks again everything was perfect.

    Frappa2019-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in the Lumberjack cabin and it was exactly as described only better! More amenities than we expected! Each cabin is close but completely separate spaces and well placed for each to have privacy! Bathrooms were sparkling clean and central. If you read the reviews you will also have an amazing stay! Bring your own cleaning supplies, toilet paper and soap. It was so much more than we expected and cannot wait to go back! 5 stars in our book! Pet friendly and spacious. Exactly the RnR getaway we needed!
