  • Mary’s place is spacious, beautifully decorated, and such a cozy place to spend the night. We lit a fire and enjoyed a cozy evening in and had a nice breakfast the next day. They answered our questions immediately and even brought us honey and butter to go with the other breakfast provisions when we asked. Definitely recommend.

    Joshua2018-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Needed a quiet, relaxing space before working locally the next day. Helen was incredibly friendly, welcoming and provided us with some local knowledge, introducing us to locations that we would have otherwise missed on our travels. Wouldn't hesitate to return should I ever be back in this neck of the woods. Thank you!

    Raymond2018-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • This was a truly lovely place to stay. My room with en suite was extremely comfortable, warm and peaceful and very clean. Helen made me very welcome without intruding on my stay at all. The town is very small but interesting, being right on the border, and also the home of Banjo Patterson’s grandfather, if any other Australians are interested.

  • Wendy has made a beautiful place to stay and we enjoyed our night there in comfort. There were lovely extra touches such as breakfast options put out for us and how quiet the area is. Would recommend and I would happily be hosted by wendy anywhere

    Brendan2020-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • A little hard to find the location, because the address of the gps indicated us a bad place. Otherwise the accommodation is perfectly clean, everything was there, although a little cold at night, the radiators would not heat much. Wendy's reactivity is TOP. I recommend.

    Irene2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastically functional and comfortable hut in Enniskillen. Visited during mid-February - the hut is well insulated, had an electric radiator and electric fireplace which kept the place very warm and cozy. The kitchen had every thing you need- cutlery, plates, glasses, mugs, a microwave, mini-hob, kettle, toaster, etc. The bathroom was spacious and had an electric shower - aka you always have a nice warm shower on demand. Valerie/Dennis could always be contacted/ were always about if you needed anything, even advice on what to do in the area. They added personal touches in the room, along with fresh flowers. 10/10, would go back anytime!

Enjoy a lovely relaxing and peaceful time overlooking Lough Erne near Kesh, Co. Fermanagh. Stunning lake views from the cottage or sit by the jetty, listen to the beautiful bird song and leave the world behind for a while; step into tranquility.
The photographs show our stunning Irish cottage! What they don't convey is just how lovely it is! You have to experience that for yourself. Most people gasp 'wow' when they walk in, and you will too! See more at Stunning Shamrock Cottage.
Shamrock Cottage is located in 7 acres of grounds, with three other cottages as part of a traditional Clachan. Each cottage is private (and privately owned) with owners taking great pride in their cottages. Secure gated access ensures that your stay is safe, secure and private. It's safe for children to ride bikes around or walk about. It's a wonderful environment to explore; the lough shore and woodland. Listen to the birds and the local farm animals, in pure peace and serenity!
  • Myself and five friends stayed at Shamrock Cottage over New Years and had a brilliant time. The cottage was clean, warm and comfortable and had a stunning view of the lake. The cottage had everything you could possibly need, from a coffee machine to board games. We instantly felt at home. The host, Anita, went above and beyond to make our stay fun and comfortable. She suggested a few places in the local area to visit to go and left maps and brochures to give us ideas. She also left eggs, bacon and milk in the fridge for us, which was a lovely touch. There are beautiful walks around the cottage and you are a short drive from many incredible places, the cottage is also great value for money and we will definitely be recommending it to friends and family.

  • as the wifi password claims, this truly was paradise!! a splendid spot for rest, fun and adventure!! with super comfy beds!!

    Abi2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely long weekend at Anita’s place - the location is incredible right on beautiful Lough Erne. And Anita was a very generous host - we were travelling with our infant daughter and arrived to find a travel cot set up along with stair gates and a high chair already set up. Anita had also left a bunch of lovely and generous surprises around the house as we were celebrating some significant birthdays. It is a very comfortable and properly set up house. The kitchen has all the essentials and was actually nice to cook in unlike so many places, and to top it off we arrived to find a bowl of freshly laid eggs from Anita’s chickens sitting in the fridge! We’ll be back to spend more time in this comfortable home in beautiful surrounds. Thanks Anita!

    Oscar2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Shamrock Cottage was just as pictured but better. Not pictured is the home away from home vibe and how much detail Anita has put into making sure everyone makes the most out of their trip and is comfortable whilst doing it! Anita was quick to reply, easy to deal with and has thought of everything! We’re hoping to make another trip out in the New Year and tick some more experiences off her recommendations list! Thanks again for everything Anita! (Also, child friendly and kitchen was stocked with things you wouldn’t expect - we loved our toasties to warm up after our hike!)

    Erika2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Anita is an incredible host. Attention to detail beyond what you would ever expect. Shamrock Cottage is very homely and comfortable.

    Judith2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • The Shamrock Cottage is an absolutely wonderful place to stay! Anita has thought of every detail for her guests, making it an easy place to unwind and relax. Our family appreciated all the information about surrounding points of interest as well as the thoughtful gesture of having homemade banana bread to greet us upon arrival! Anita is an amazing host and you will love it here!

    Jenni2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Shamrock Cottage is an immaculate house in a stunning setting right on the lake. Anita, the owner, added so many personal touches that made our stay there absolutely perfect. All 5 of us absolutely loved everything about the cottage!

  • I had a lovely time at the cottage alone over Christmas .I booked in for 3 nights. On arrival ,(i was a little late ,but that was no problem for Gabriele )I was met by Gabriele ,she showed me how the electric meter worked an left some £1 coins for it ( it tops the electric up but spits the coins back out , BRILLIANT 😊)she even got the fire going for me, provided some logs for the fire and kindly invited me for drink on Christmas if I felt like it. The cottage is beautiful ,so peaceful an only a few mins walk to the jetty by Lough Erne. I booked in for an extra night and I was sad to leave. Loved every minute !

  • Ardrum is an amazing place! We would highly recommend it to anyone wishing to spend a unique few days away in this well restored farmhouse. It’s the best air bnb that we have stayed in and we have a young family who thoroughly enjoyed it too. It’s peaceful and secluded but not too far into the amenities at Kesh. Also well located for travelling into Donegal, around the Loughs or into Enniskillen. The Farmhouse was spotless, full of character and has everything you need. Sam communicates well and quick to sort anything else you may need. We’ll definitely be back for another stay!

    Chris2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • If you’re looking for a quiet place that instantly feels like home to relax and rejuvenate then look no further. We spent the days of Christmas here and it was everything and more we dreamed of. Beautiful and rural location with only sheep as your neighbours, gorgeous underfloor heating, skies full of stars, beautiful wood fired stoves, luxurious bath, great kitchen with everything we needed to cook a full Christmas dinner, plenty of tv channels and a comfy bed for restful sleep. We’re already planning our return trip!

    Cliona2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is warm and welcoming. Loved the decor and facilities first rate, underfloor heating was excellent. If you love peace and quiet this is the place to stay, very relaxing. Great location for beaches in Donegal and villages, Kesh only 10 minutes away for amenities 40 minutes to Enniskillen or Ballyshannon.

  • This home is exceptional. You feel like you are staying in a stunningly decorated family home. Every room is beautifully presented and has everything you need. The kitchen is well equipped. The area is so very peaceful.

  • An escape to allow you to recharge in an unspoilt part of rural Ireland. This exquisite restoration of a magnificent Irish cottage is breathtaking and everything is provided for you to unwind right on the Fermanagh/Donegal border. Exploring the immediate locality was superb with interesting walks across into Donegal- which is just down the lane. Short car journey To Lough Derg where you can walk the Pilgrim’s Path. Further afield there is a lovely 6 mile walk around the trails of Florence Court and a visit to Belleek pottery is a relaxing way to spend a few hours - guided tours are reasonable at a fiver each. The house has excellent wi-fi, log burners and is extremely well equipped- as well as being so, so quiet. Look out for the wildlife - we were visited frequently by a magnificent Irish hare. And at this time of year we were spoilt with abundance of blackberries in the ancient hedgerows beside the cottage. Tremendous place to unwind, relax and forget the madness of the city.

    David2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • What a stunning property and location. A unique experience in proper rural Ireland, in a farm house restored with love care and style. Could not recommend highly enough. You won’t even hear a car go by.

    Ciaran2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous farmhouse in a peaceful central location. Gave us a break from the city while being less than an hour from Enniskillen, Omagh and Donegal! Clean, cosy, and calm.

    Cameron2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautifully restored traditional farmhouse in a tranquil rural location, we had a wonderful short break with our young family, the space is very cosy, clean and beautifully decorated. Communication with Sam was excellent, he is a very responsive & attentive host, we hope to be back!

Lough Mardal Lodge offers fully-insulated and luxuriously furnished skydome yurts, each with wood-burning stove and private veranda with views of lake, mountains and forest. Guests also have use of the Lodge amenity building, a beautiful eco building made from straw. Located in South Donegal with 90 private acres of wild and beautiful countryside to roam or hike. Beaches and surf spots nearby. A stunning getaway or base from which to explore the North West of Ireland.
A simple yet magical dwelling sleeping in a yurt evokes a sense of otherworldliness. Originally the homes of the nomads of Central Asia the type of yurt here at Lough Mardal Lodge has been adapted for today and has been chosen for its high-tech insulation, warmth and durability which is required for the slightly temperamental weather on the west coast of Ireland! The yurts are very spacious at 20ft (6m) diameter and luxuriously furnished, they have two windows and a dome skylight letting in plenty of natural light. With your warm stove burning, lie in bed staring up at the stars through your clear skydome within the privacy of your insulated yurt walls. Set in a stunning, wild location the yurts are utterly immersed in nature with beautiful views, and the sun very obligingly sets outside the window. Extra bed can be provided on request, subject to availability, at additional charge. Guests can avail of the amenities in the communal Lodge which offers a fully-equipped kitchen, hot showers, toilets and large and striking lounge area with spiralling beams overhead and panoramic views of lake, forestry and mountains. The Lodge is still being completed, minor finishing work is on-going and the rates reflect this, so please excuse its appearance in places.
Set on the Wild Atlantic Way, Ireland's most popular touring route, Lough Mardal is accessibly remote. You have all the peaceful benefits of being in the middle of nowhere yet in fact you are just 15 minutes to Donegal Town or Ballyshannon, the oldest town in Ireland. Well-known surf spots Bundoran and Mullaghmore are also within short distance. The nearest pub and shop is a 10 minute drive. There are two enormous sandy beaches within 15 minutes drive. There is plenty of hill walking and cycle trails including the Bluestack Way.
  • JUST BOOK IT!!!! Honestly the most peaceful and tranquil place to escape to. From Archie the dog the best welcoming committee to all of the amenities every little detail has been thought of and executed to beautifully and sympathetically to the amazing surroundings. We most definitely will be back!

    Dawn2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay at Lough Mardal! The yurts were gorgeous and Clare and Marcus ensured we had everything we needed - hot water bottles, firewood and even a happy birthday banner for our celebratory weekend away. We stayed in the yurt during a terrible storm so it was noisy at night, but we are grateful that the yurts are such good quality that we were kept safe and dry. Would love to visit again!

    Jessica2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Our second time staying and not our last - fave spot to completely switch off and enjoy nature/time alone from distractions

    Niamh2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Although the photos were great, it was nicer in person! Such a great setting and wonderfully warm and inviting place. Marcus and Clare are lovely people and it was great to find such inspiration from the wealth of books that lay about the communal space. It was really great to be able to bring our dog with us too. Stargazing at night on the decking with hot water bottles, a glass of wine and chocolates.....can't wait to go back....

    Claire2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing space! Great place to stay in a beautiful landscape if you're looking a for a quiet getaway, very quirky and different! Would really recommend, lovely hosts!

    Caolan2019-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • Wow. Just wow. The yurt was so hom-ie and cosy and just beautiful. The aesthetics mats, blankets & wood burner along with the amazing natural wood was just so beautiful. It was so toastie and warm which surprised me at just how warm it got. The communal area was also stunning & loads of amenities. 100% will be back & for a longer stay. Also great that it’s dog friendly. We only go for the dog friendly ones as we love to bring Moo away. Thanks so much.

  • A really special place, surrounded by beauty!

    Grace2019-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • A truly special place in a stunning location. A perfect mix of luxury & basic living. Even in the rain, the landscape was beautiful, and the woodburner made the yurt wonderfully cosy (though do bring a torch or two as it can get a little dark in there at night). Clare & Marcus were both extremely welcoming & helpful, and we definitely plan to return again in the future.

    John2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Fergal’s house was ideal for a group of eight. We spent new year in the countryside, enjoyed long walks and relaxing. The house is exactly as pictured and Josephine had kindly prepared fresh scones for our arrival as an extra welcoming touch. Communication was excellent and they were only too happy to pop by and help us if anything needed adjusting to our taste. I would highly recommend this for a family or group of friends. We were very happy to bring in the new year in style from the luxury of the hot tub!

  • Do not think twice about booking here. It is fantastic & the hosts really go the extra mile to make sure you have everything you need. They answered emails very quickly. The house is much bigger inside that the photos show. They have everything covered that you need even ice ready. The hot tub & sauna were on 24 hours a day. They even had red & brown sauce, dish washer tabs etc. The house was spotless & the bed were really comfy, they even had a TV in each room. Nothing was missing. We were a party of 7 girls & there are plenty of bathrooms for us all. We all had an amazing time & will be back 😁

    Connor2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely and secluded.

    Margaret2017-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • I'll mention the negatives first as they are so few. There was only 1 towel between 2 people for 4 days. Drinking glasses consist of 2 pint tumblers and about 8 wine glasses. There was 3 tea mugs but luckily there was only 2 of us. Now the positives of which there are probably too many to mention. The views are stunning, if you are into nature /wildlife then this place has your name on it ! I enjoyed watching the many birds coming to the feeding table and even the many bats at night. We bought bird seed, fat balls & suet blocks just to enjoy the activity. Location is peaceful & secluded. The dogs were exhausted every night after all the exercise & freedom to roam that they can't have back in the city. There are multiple places to drive to either over the border or staying in the north. We visited about 6 different beaches along the Atlantic Way.

Sitting at the foot of the Bluestack Mountains, my home offers a King bed+private bathroom. Stunning views of Barnes Gap and surrounding countryside with loads of light. Self-service breakfast. Enjoy a shower or relaxing bath. Accessible to mountain walks. The Famous Biddys O'Barnes pub is a ½ mile. I am located off the N15, near the Wild Atlantic Way, 10 mins drive from Donegal Town and 10 mins from the beautiful Lough Eske, Solís Castle Hotel and Harveys Point Hotel.
I love what I have to offer + love sharing it with people. The Barnes Gap view from the bedroom is stunning + breakfast can be enjoyed right in front of it. I have a comfortable king bed with a high quality mattress so I have no doubt you will have a refreshing sleep. There is a brilliant power shower or option to have a relaxing bath with epsom salts + candles. I think my style + finishing touches will be appealing to guests ♡.
My detached house in on a lovely height in the countryside but not far from main road. My Granny's old house is beside mine. I have great neighbours who would do anything at the drop of a hat as I would for them. My mum + dad live below my house + are available to help out or check-in guests if needed. There is access to the Croaghconnellagh Mountain from our land up the back. On ascent from my house, height is gained quickly the views are class !
  • A lovely clean place to stay. Would recommend anyone to stay here. A great big room with an amazing view. Caroline was lovely and very accommodating.

    Emer2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Don’t question it just book this place immediately! Caroline and her amazing place is the best! The place is situated on a gorgeous hill outside of the city with a view to die for. I truly had to push myself out the door to do things bc I could have just sat at the table by the window with my tea looking out at the view. There are sheep in the field and gorgeous Mountain Views. It was peaceful and lovely. Everything I wanted, hoped for and more. The room and amenities are out of this world. She has all these gorgeous, thoughtful little touches throughout. There are tea lights in the bedroom and the bathroom. Bath salts to enjoy a soak in the claw foot tub. Don’t want a bath no problem there’s a separate amazing shower. I could have stayed here forever. Caroline and I had some great chats. She is an utter delight. Her mom even stopped in and I enjoyed some talk time with her as well. Dad came by and I waved & kept trying to convince the sheep they needed to be my friends too! If I hadn’t scheduled my trip so much I would have loved to extend here. Her place was a total comfort & when you’re traveling that is so hard to come by. I can’t say enough good things about the space and Caroline. It’s a yes from me and I hope your stay is as magical as mine was. I don’t doubt that it won’t be for one second. Enjoy.

This is a dormer cottage one and half kilometers from Donegal Town which was renovated about five years ago. It is on an elevated site in a beautiful and private location and also close close to Lough eske, beautiful beaches and situated along the Bluestack Way. It is an ideal touring base.
Prior to renovation this house was rented as a holiday home. People who stayed in it liked the private setting but also the fact that it is so close to the historic town of Donegal with its lively pubs and lovely restaurants.
  • Alison’s place is cosy and stylish and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The added touches such as providing home baked bread and basic groceries were very generous and thoughtful. Would recommend it.

  • We booked this Airbnb quite late on as we were unsure of travel plans, but Carolyn was lovely and advised us that it was no problem. Carolyn met us on arrival and showed us the heating system etc as well as letting us know about the marina and the viewpoint to Lough Erne which we visited that evening. The place was clean and cosy when we arrived, the perfect cottage for a relaxing night away from it all.

Peace and quiet yet close to a local pub, excellent Donegal Town and the stunning Wild Atlantic way
  • This Cosy cottage is perfect for a relaxing getaway or as a base to explore Donegal. A short drive to Donegal Town and local shops this Cottage is better than advertised! Anthony was open, friendly and provided great tips for our stay and greeted us with fresh hand made roasted veg focaccia bread that tasted divine! The cottage is decorated beautifully with an Asian twist on the traditional Irish cottage, that we loved! There is more than enough space to sleep 6. We really loved relaxing by the peat fuelled fire with the turntable playing the amazing collection of albums that were available. My family an myself hope we get a chance to stay here again!

  • Amazing place to relax with my partner and dog. Fire lit on cold evening on arrival. Local Indian in Donegal really good. 10 mins if even, beach around 8 mins. Local pub a short walk. Bread on arrival to die for such an extra treat. Perfect to relax and local shop short drive few mins away. Quirky and hippy vibe. Loved it. Books and dvds perfect and Netflix and WiFi a bonus.

This is a small, beautiful and extremely cosy cottage located on the border of Castle Archdale. We are only divided by a river so it is just a 2 minute walk into the forest park. This cottage has brought us much needed fun and respite over the years and is great for the family to have some time together away from the hustle bustle of daily life. Situated close to the lough, this cottage is a second home to us so we kindly ask that it is treated in the same way that we treat it.
Driveway parking ideal for one car, could fit two cars in but its a tight squeeze.
The house is located 10 minutes from "Lusty Beg Island" and ten minutes from the "Manor House hotel" where there is Golf, Tennis and Boats to hire. The property also sits on the border of "Castle Archdale Forest Park" the entrance to this is only 100 meters from the front door. The beautiful lakeside walks are a great way to switch off and get back to nature. Castle Archdale is great for cycling, picnics and boats can also be hired from here. There is Bowling in irvinestown. tickety moo ice-cream nearby, erneside water activity centre. Enniskillen is the closes major town for shopping. Many smaller shops close by.

Well-known surf spots Bundoran and Mullaghmore are also within short distance. The nearest pub and shop is a 10 minute drive. There are two enormous sandy beaches within 15 minutes drive. There is plenty of hill walking and cycle trails including the Bluestack Way.
  • Had a wonderful overnight stay! beautiful surrounding scenery, very tranquil, and tastefully decorated yurt, comfy bed! Well worth the experience! The lodge is a peaceful place to unwind also.. big fire place, games, books and well equipped kitchen . Everything was lovely and clean. Bonus that one of the yurts is pet friendly, as our cat goes everywhere with us. Only downside is pets aren't allowed in the communal lodge. Will definitely be wanting to return again during the summer months.
