4 acres of Railroad bed for hiking. This is a rural/country setting, but not too far to stores and shopping. There is wild here. I mean there is nature ... and wild places for them to live.
  • If your okay with sharing a house with people this is the best place to go. The best place for best bang for your buck along with a steam shower!

  • Lisa's place is better than advertised. I came for a weekend away from the busyness of home and work and intended to focus on some important projects. There is very little traffic in her area, the property is large and beautiful with several awesome amenities, and her pets are friendly and particularly well-behaved. It was a productive and refreshing weekend for me and I look forward to booking again.

  • Lisa's house is a little bit of heaven! We were greeted at the door by Rusty, a huge orange and white tabby cat, who was absolutely the most affectionate cat we had ever seen, he even spent the night sleeping on the foot of the bed! The house is full of special touches, such as salt lamps, art works, glass paperweights (which reminded me of my great grandmother, who collected them), incense and candles, and lovely old furniture. Outside there is a patio with hot tub, which was great to relax in, listening to the wind chimes and looking out over a spacious lawn complete with pond and deer. Lisa was a perfect host and we can't wait to stay there again when we come back that way in the fall, if not sooner!

  • Lisa is a wonderful host. Great hospitality and very nice. "Off the beaten path" definitely described this stay to a t. I loved it. Relaxing and inviting. Beautiful countryside. Dont forget to enjoy Lisas beautiful artwork and the hot tub - best when weather is cold 😁 Will visit again.

  • Very nice host and the place is also very beautiful.

  • It was quiet and tranquil. Lisa's dog and my dog got along great. Lots of playtime for them. Lisa pointed me in the direction of good hikes for me and my dog. Just an over all great stay. Just what I needed.

    Carissa2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa is so sweet. Her home is lovely and very clean. I came out for training for work and had no problems during my stay. I will definitely come back in the future.

    Amber2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • The bedroom was very comfortable and cozy. The house has everything you need, and Lisa always ready for helping you. There is parking right in the front of the house, which is very convinient. The area has several trails and parks if you are looking for some small trekking.

This is a rural area. Lots of places to hike or bike. There is a pavillion here, where you can have a fire and cookout. Also a pond for fishing and swimming.
  • This place was just what we were looking for. Lisa was a wonderful hostess and made us feel right at home...literally. We were having work done on our home and had to leave for 5 days and Lisa’s place was close, let us bring our kitty with us and was a very comfortable home away from home. Very quiet too!

    Heike2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • I am a frequent visitor to Lisa's place and have never been disappointed. She is a great hostess and I feel right at home when I am there. My room is always very clean, very private, and well decorated and comfortable. And Lisa is always busy making improvements to the property to make it even more appealing. It is totally a relaxing and serene place for either a stopover, or an extended stay. Highly recommended of course!!

  • Lisa was a great host. Her house is beautiful and I really enjoyed it. Her dog is awesome as well

    Ryan2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa is a fantastic host. Her place is located between NYC and Toronto, which makes it great when you want to start driving right after work and continue the rest of the trip early in the morning. Her property is very spacious and cool. We had a fire pit going by the pond, and her property has an extensive yard to play. I Highly recommend it!

CLEANING PROTOCOLS: All surfaces will be cleaned according to CDC guidelines. We take this very seriously. A TRULY UNIQUE EXPERIENCE -returning guest review ✔ Proud to be rated as GOLD KEY SUPER HOSTS by Airbnb since 2014! ✔ Go off-grid in this yurt with a Cedar Hot Tub all situated in a pristine wilderness in rural Pennsylvania. ✔ This is the place to reconnect. This is the place to be in touch with the environment. ✔ Did we mention the cedar hot tub is ALWAYS AVAILABLE for use?! :-)
✔ This is an ideal vacation spot for our city friends looking to unwind and disconnect! ✔ The yurt is off-grid, but we do supply you with two solar chargers if you need to charge your phone. We also use a composting toilet for the cleanest and most environmentally-sensitive relationship to the surroundings. ✔ This is off-grid glamping so you will have a shower stall and hot water for bathing. ✔ We will supply you with some firewood, matches, bed linens, towels, bath soap, shampoo, paper plates, cups, plastic utensils, 5-10 gallons of fresh drinking water, pots and pans, grill utensils, an ice chest, salt and pepper, paper towels, a wash basin and dish soap, dish towels, toilet tissue, hand sanitizer, a camping percolating coffee pot, coffee cups, two solar chargers, and a flashlight. ✔ Along with your food and clothes, you might want to bring a charged up Bluetooth speaker, a portable battery charger for your phone, ice, a small bag of charcoal, and coffee grounds. ✔ Local attractions include: canoeing down the scenic Susquehanna River, wine tasting at the local vineyards, fascinating antique shops, hunting (in season only), skiing, golfing, biking, hiking, birding at the Wyalusing Rocks, state parks, and only about an hour from Knoebels! ✔ Sleeps 2 people in a queen-sized bed. We do have plenty of space for your tents if you want to bring friends. (The yurt sleeps a maximum of 2.) The area is widely known for birders. The property has nesting birds of many varieties including red-tailed hawks, robins, owls, hummingbirds, phoebes, blue jays, mockingbirds, king fishers, pileated woodpeckers, among others. Other noted aviary visitors include bald eagles and migrating geese. Fauna on the property include deer, foxes, groundhogs, chipmunks, squirrels, and rabbits.
This area of Mehoopany is sometimes called Champion Mountain, so named for the family who once live on our property. The ruins of their old homestead dates back to the late 1700s. The are only about 10 other houses within a mile of the cabin and many of them are our relatives, as one might expect for an old family farm.
  • Perfect weekend! Eddie and Liam were very helpful between bringing our bags to and from the yurt and answering all of our questions very promptly. We had a great time hanging by the fire and cooking with our dogs. We did a beautiful hike on Saturday morning and enjoyed the Grovedale winery (both only about a 20 min drive). We started the hot tub as soon as we got back and were able to enjoy it at the end of our night. We will definitely be back!

    Madison2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Pleasant hosts and clean accommodations. If you enjoy the outdoor experience you will like this step up from tenting it.

    Penny2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • my husband and i loved getting off the grid! we had a fantastic time and the guys gave us a lot of very helpful info for our stay.

    Mary2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Eddie & Liam's place out in the woods was absolutely perfect! They provided everything we needed to have a comfortable and peaceful weekend away. All amenities were well thought out and they provided an easy to follow video that showed us everything we needed to know. Check in and out was easy, and the resources they provided for places to eat, things to do, and highlights of the area was perfect. Fall is such a beautiful time to visit! Highly recommend.

    Aaron2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Such a beautiful location to stay! Our first time staying in a yurt and keeping everything off grid was a really nice added touch to help reset and just immerse in nature. The hot tub was AMAZING. My bf is probably tired of hearing me rave about the scent of the cedarwood but it was so relaxing. The outhouse was better than I ever expected it to be and super clean. The instructions were very easy to follow as well. We definitely over packed as they have so much stuff for you to use while you stay. All you really need are clothing food and some toiletries. I cant wait to come back and stay again! P.s. dont forget to look up at the night sky. Its breathtaking 💜

    Hailey2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Let me open with our stay was great and this place is great! Very unique and private. A few things you should know ahead of time: communicate your check in time with hosts so they can plan to help bring up your things. The hike to the yurt was a bit more than expected, (steeper and up hill) but worth the hike. The hot tub is awesome! I liked it more than the on grid electric ones. But, be forewarned that it is cedar and cedar seeps into the water like a tea. At first the water looks like it's dirty... And that might be a turn off, but it is a cedar tea bath which is much better than chlorine. There are wood chairs by the fire pit, but they got wet from rain, good idea to bring camp chairs or pads in case of rain. Nobody's fault but the weather, but that's outdoor life. This is info to help your stay be the best. Really beautiful and quiet. Great stay! Enjoy!

Our house is 2640 square feet. We own 1.34 acres in a wooded area. It's very quiet where we live and we have very few houses near us. We are also offering the use of our first floor: a shared living room and a shared kitchen. Guests are welcome to use the deck for hanging out or grilling.
All guest must remove shoes upon entering the house. Please place shoes on area rugs when entering. Guests are welcome to wear slippers, as long as they have no outside dirt. Please note that there will be a $5.00 fee for the use of the washer and dryer.
We live 1/2 mile from PA's largest natural lake. Our lake is approx. 8 miles around. You may take a bike to ride around the entire lake. We have bikes here to use , but you must remember that you ride at your own risk. Ricketts Glenn is approximately 25 to 35 minutes from our house... it depends on which trail you want to hike. There are a few restaurants around the lake to check out. Grotto Pizza is a must for pizza lovers! A must see spot is the public boat launch, where you can see the boats go out and come in.
  • Kyrstons place had everything you could need plus some! Beautiful, comfortable home in a nice serene area! Location was close to Ricketts Glen which I visited while there. She and her family along with Snickers (their friendly dog) were very welcoming! I’d definitely stay there again!

    Shari2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • The place was great and Kyrston is super personable. You can't beat the location and the value. I was there to work the local fair and it was perfect for me!

  • Wow! We were welcomed us as we walked up to the door and were settled in quickly. Everything about the stay was terrific! The room was extremely comfortable and we were made to feel very much welcome. Her info about the local sights were spot on and made it easy to have a great time. Thank you, Kryston!!!

    Roger2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Kyrston was a super host and made us feel comfortable in her home. The room we stayed in had a private balcony and a mini fridge which was very convenient and a nice view! I was a little worried that it might be too hot but the ceiling fan in the room and fans throughout the house kept everything cool that there was no need for a/c. She provided a basket of great breakfast options which we could just help ourselves. We were able to enjoy the lake and Kyrston provided us with chairs, towels, and even took us down there. Lastly we enjoyed a wonderful 4th of July barbecue with her and the family which was a great ending to a our last minute get away!

    Pearl2019-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • The space was great: very comfortable, and with so many thoughtful touches! Kyrston and the family were very friendly and accommodating!

Authentic county home. Quiet one day at a time comfort. Maybe bicycle or motorcycle over these roads of the Pa. Endless Mountains to historic towns. There are 8 golf courses, many driving ranges, 8 antique stores, fun ride park, swimming, numerous restaurants within 8 to 20 miles. Share full living rm, front porch, sm. fridge, microwave, coffee maker. Garage for bikes, motorcycle, snowmobiles additional fee. I'll take you to your room and leave you to your leisure.
Near by site seeing are mostly pastures with cow/horses. Fields of hay and corn during spring and summer - but only glorious hillsides of fall colors in Autumn. Road sides are clustered with wild flowers. A chicken crossing the road is a normal occurrence (still dont know why). Deer are a common site and use the roads also. Roads are curvy and a bit hilly. • Rick and Cindy's place is so tastefully decorated and welcoming. I spent a few days in their home as a work retreat and it was just perfect. I loved cooking on the high end stove and the bathroom with double shower heads. Also, Rick and Cindy were so kind in giving me some extra time for check out. I definitely hope to return!!

  • Lovely location! We loved the outdoor chairs and pergola area with the river view. We went for just the weekend and did so much! Kayaking, winery, state park trip and went out to dinner! The bathroom is super cool, and the cabin is cozy and quaint. Would definitely stay again, especially since we brought our fur babies. Thanks so much!!

    Amanda2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a super relaxing weekend by Robs cabin. The cabin was really cute and comfortable and it was a good place to unwind. Rob and his wife came by after we checked in to make sure everything was in order and to answer some of our questions. The cabin is steps away from the river which is amazing. But you do have to cross the road to get there so it’s not as quiet as we hoped it would be. You should note that the tap water smells of sulfur but spring water is provided for drinking. We especially liked the pergola where you can sit overlooking the river. And the surrounding area is quite beautiful. Thanks Rob for a great weekend.

    Ellen2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • I came here to get awag with my pup for a few days. I brought/picked up basic cooking and grilling needs, which was a good idea. There are stores within a 15 minute drive if you do happen to forget anything. The property and cabins are super peaceful and there is plenty to do between hiking, fishing, and kayaking. Rob was great and answered all my questions promptly. I stayed in the smaller cabin, which was great for my needs but may be cramped for more than two people. There is no hunting on the property, but you may hear gunshots in the distance. Overall a really enjoyable stay.

    LaToya2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay! Visited the local kayak shop (walking distance from cabin) for a day trip, as well as the local winery which was lovely and about a mile down the road. Also located close to great hiking (rickets glen)! Cute little cabin that had everything we needed.

We are a family of 3...our son is 12 years old. We also have a dog and a cat, who are friendly! Our house is 2640 square feet, with 4 bedrooms, 3 baths, 2 private decks and 1 shared deck. Our property is located in a quiet, wooded area, perfect for nature lovers! You may even meet our favorite deer family ! We are located close to Ricketts Glen (20 mins to lower trail and 30 mins to upper trail). We are approximately 1/2 mile from Harveys Lake, which is perfect for kayaking.
All summer, we offer beach passes to a private beach at Harvey's lake called Warden Place. Any guests who stay with us will receive complimentary passes (or code for after hours) to use upon request. The beach has chairs, picnic tables, etc and provides umbrellas, noodles, etc ...if you need beach towels, please ask us. There's also a diving board and sliding board there... it's a great place to just relax in a chair, have a picnic or take the kids!
We are .6 mile from Harveys Lake. There are 4 restaurants at the lake. The host can provide the names of these and some information.
  • Kyrston and Chuck are by far the greatest host family I have had in my Airbnb experiences as travel radiology technician. They went out of their way to make me feel welcome and adjusted fire to meet my different schedule needs. They instantly made me feel like I was part of the family and also invited me to have dinner and drinks with them during my stay. There’s not enough space in this review to express how much I appreciated how welcome they made me feel!

If you saunter out onto the deck perhaps you can even hear it. This is a perfect headquarters to discover the wonders of the back mountain, Ricketts Glen or the urban ambiance of Wilkes-Barre. Scranton and it's mine tours not to mention world class Pizza known as old forge style is not far away either. Relax and enjoy.
The whole house is yours to enjoy.
The neighborhood is quiet and and usually serene.

Welcome to the Bohemian Cottage! Located just seven minutes from downtown Dallas on two idyllic acres, you'll be away from the hustle yet close to nearby colleges, restaurants, and wedding venues. This listing is for the entire downstairs apartment. It will be freshly cleaned and cozy, complete with towels, wash clothes, as well as extra blankets and pillows and fresh flowers on each nightstand. The kitchen is always stocked with coffee, tea, eggs, bread, local jams and honey, and snacks.
The home is a converted single family home. The upstairs is rented full time to a sweet single tenant who I myself rarely see. The bottom floor of the house is The Bohemian Cottage - a beautifully renovated apartment where I (the host) live with my super friendly lab mix June. If you are renting a private room, you'll have access to everything except my private bedroom and desktop computer. If you rent the entire space, I will be gone and so will the pets, but nearby in case of any questions or emergencies. The living room is bright and airy, the kitchen is cozy and stocked with fresh local eggs, bread, oatmeal, fruit, and a variety of coffee, tea, and granola bars. Hang out on the large front porch or back deck with swings and rocking chairs. The bathroom has a tub and shower combo. 6th and 7th single beds are out in the sunroom which is fully enclosed. It is a single daybed with a trundle bed underneath that pulls out. The sunroom is just off the kitchen and does not have a door closing it off from the kitchen.
The cottage is located so close to town and other conveniences yet tucked away.

I will definitely love to stay and recommend your place. Thank you.

    Scott2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful weekend stay at the Bohemian Cottage for a nearby wedding at Friedman Farms. There was plenty of room for our group of 5. Amanda’s place was exceptionally clean and we loved the extra amenities like a pour-over coffee kettle (with instructions for a first timer like me) as well as farm fresh eggs and snacks. We had no problems getting Uber/Lyft to Friedman Farms for our wedding and would recommend her place for any groups in the same situation.

    Kevin2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing space with serious boho chic vibes! Fire pit and wood was provided for our use :) wonderful stay!

  • Eddie and Liam's place is a great place to go and relax for a weekend. The 6 person hot tub was a huge highlight for me and my friends! I also enjoyed the privacy of the location. The large back deck with it's huge windows and view were excellent. We also enjoyed the outdoor and indoor fireplaces. Great spot!

  • Beautiful home with a beautiful view. With the hot tub and fireplace, we could have easily stayed in the whole trip. If a secluded, quiet, relaxing getaway is what your looking for, this is the home for it!

    Lellean2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • This home was a great space to get away to relax. The hot tub while it was snowing was icing on the cake. We very much enjoyed this home, they were excellent hosts.

    Josh2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • This place is awesome- it’s more beautiful than the photos can show, the views are amazing and the piano is so lovely to play (if you know how!). The robes they provide are such a nice touch as well, and the hot tub is so relaxing

    Mary Jo2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Eddie & Liam's place exceeded expectations. I'll definitely be going back!

    Brian2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • The house is a great size and set up well for a groups of friends. There is also an incredible view from the living room. Importantly, the most comfortable bed in a rental I’ve have ever stayed at.

    Prena2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely home with an amazing view! Would highly recommend this property. Hot tub was wonderful. Fireplace was cozy. Everything was clean. Quick response from host when I inquired about wood. Excellent accommodations. We will be back again! To any travelers coming, I would recommend driving in during the day. It was a bit hard to see the roads at night and we hit some fog as well, so it was a little tricky. Whether you are a family, a group of friends, or couples. This is the place to stay for sure!

Our trailer is next to the woods and comfortably fits 4. Located right next to our winery, you can enjoy a nature trail and relax with a glass of wine (or more) afterwards. There is much wildlife right out the back window.
Located 1 minute of walking next to a winery. Plenty of wildlife right out the back door. 8 miles from ricketts glen state park. It is an older, rustic trailer so there are flaws to it but it's better than sleeping on the ground. Also it's right next to the woods so expect to see some sort of critters. The sheets are clean and the shower is hot.
Few neighbors, mostly cabins. We are out in the country. Surrounded by woods and wildlife.
  • The sunrise view out back was beautiful! The peace and quiet was much appreciated. Katherine and her father were welcoming, friendly and communicated well. The trailer is what I would expect from one of my age, cozy. The winery is a pleasant neighbor. Thank you!

    Martin2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This was the perfect little weekend getaway from the city. I traveled only with my 8 month old puppy for an adventurous hiking trip and we loved where we got to rest our heads in the evening. The trailer is exactly as described/pictured and the quick 15 minute drive down the road to Ricketts Glen made it super convenient. The winery was closed when I arrived on Friday and Katherine sent her hubs over to let me in for a bottle of wine! They were both so accommodating - we chatted for a while after my hikes at the winery (which is also pup friendly!). I felt very at home and would stay here again in a heartbeat.

    Hannah2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly what we expected from the description and other reviews. Nothing fancy, but had everything we needed with some nice homey touches. We took food for breakfasts and lunches and opted to travel out of the way about 45 minutes for dinner.

    Julie2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Took a quick weekend trip to this peaceful property. It's as described in the listing - not fancy, but it was nice to be in a place with a bed, heat, and hot water as opposed to a tent. The heat worked extremely well, which I appreciated. Our host was helpful when we approached her to ask where we could find a convenience or grocery store. Went hiking on the Falls Trail in nearby Ricketts Glen and were amused by the neighbor's chickens. Overall, a very pleasant experience.

    Alena2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • This trailer is in a great location. The land around it and right beside the winery and vineyard is beautiful. The wine is quite delicious. Our favorites were the Lake Jean Red and the Red Rocket. We had a pleasant conversation with the owner, Al, while my fiance and I enjoyed a few glasses of wine before and during sunset. The trailer is old of course, but it is quite comfortable. The main bed wasn't lumpy or hard and the pillows were super soft and plush. It is only a 15 minute drive to Ricketts Glen, where we hiked for hours enjoying the trails and waterfalls. It is also only about 20 minutes from Dushore, where you can find Hurley's Market for groceries, a few places to sit down and dine, or shop the Jolly Trolly for local maple syrup and more. Our favorite two places to buy from were the local farm just a couple of minutes down from the trailer, Hail's, where we got some of the tastiest watermelon, produce (the corn was insanely good) and fresh eggs. Also, worth a drive to Wyalusing, to a small shop called Century Farm Meats. We got the tastiest Delmonico Ribeye's, Cheddar Hot dogs and cheese curds there.

    Isaac2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Deer every morning right out the front door, lovely vineyard, nice nature trail. Very private

    Claris2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful homey place to stay. So close and easy to get to Ricketts Glen. Beautiful views and very nice hosts. Not to mention their wine is delicious! Definately a stay again place.

    Jeanie2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • This place made for a fun getaway to get some peace and quiet. The trailer was cute and comfortable, but expect what you pay for. It’s old and if you are used to fancy hotels, this won’t be for you. It is a secluded place behind a winery. There is a picnic table, chairs and fire pit behind the trailer to chill outside. If you’re looking to hike, this is great to place to stay and is close to Ricketts Glen, Loyalsock, and Worlds End State Park. Bring food to make since there aren’t many restaurants open past 9pm, and are at least a 10-15 minute drive. Overall it was a great experience. We would love to return in the fall/winter time!

  • Our stay was wonderful. We were looking for seclusion and found it. Beautiful property. Eddie and Liam were so responsive to any questions. Very cozy!

    Kim2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful weekend we just came home from. I’ll start by saying that Eddie & Liam are so kind and helpful and willing to answer any question you have, even before you book your trip. They answer quickly and with good detail. The home is exactly what is expected when viewing the pictures, and the property is about as secluded and beautiful as you can get for rural PA. Mike and I love to cook, so we took full advantage of their fully stocked kitchen. We loved how the grill was right outside the kitchen door up on the deck. They have an awning over the grill, so even though it was snowing (and 18 degrees out!) we were able to easily go back and forth without it being a problem. The movie room (den area) on the first floor is so cozy and delivers great sound with the stereo system they have set up, along w a warming fireplace that goes on regularly to adjust the temperature in the room. I could go on and on about this wonderful home and these two gentlemen that run it. You will not be disappointed should you choose to stay here!

    Lisa2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • This place is an Airbnb gem!! Secluded “cabin in the woods” with all the amenities you could ask for. It was decorated for Christmas, with a big beautiful tree and fresh baked Christmas cookies were left for us. Nightstands had charging stations for apple products, which was a nice touch! We loved the big kitchen table, which we sat around and played board games for hours. Hot tub was clean and the perfect activity for evenings and after skiing at Elk Mountain. We hope to visit someday when the weather is warmer so we can enjoy the pool, fire pit, and wrap around deck! Thank you for a wonderful stay!!!

This lakefront cottage is an ideal getaway, and the fishing is GREAT! Relax and take in the view of Little Elk Lake and surrounding farmland. You may also catch a glimpse or our resident bald eagle, blue herons or beavers! The lake is small (42 acres) so no motor boats are allowed, keeping it nice and quiet. Fishermen tout the wide-mouth bass, perch, grouper and more. There are so many ways to enjoy the outdoors--swim from the float, lounge on the shore or enjoy the fire pit at night.
    • The "great room" has a picture window looking out over the lake. There is also a flat-screened "smart" t.v. with basic dish service. • There is a master bedroom with a queen bed and pull-out couch. • The second bedroom is more of a sleeping alcove than a bedroom (see diagram) but has a comfortable full-sized bed. • Additional sleeping is in the loft over the great room which has 2 twin-sized mattresses and 2 additional sleeping mats. The loft ceiling is low but it looks out over the living room so it does not feel cramped. • The cottage sleeps up to 8 adults plus 2 children. See cottage diagram for more info. • Child friendly amenities: Travel crib, clip-on chair, some toys. • The kitchen is old (think “Brady Bunch”), but clean and has everything needed for most cooking as well as some basic staples. • Propane grill and a smoker.
Located in the Endless Mountains between Binghamton NY and Scranton PA. It is a very rural area with several charming country towns to explore. • Montrose, with its white courthouse and town green is 9 miles away, has restaurants, a brewery and Salt Springs State park. • Tunkhannock sits on the Susquehanna River 11 miles away, where you can enjoy hot-air ballooning and skydiving (did I say ENJOY skydiving??) there are also many little shops and restaurants and 2 parks one with a boat launch. • Honesdale and Wyalusing are a bit further but also fun. • Elk Mountain Ski resort is about a 50-minute drive. • The Corning Glass Museum, about an hour away, is a great outing for a rainy day.
  • Talk about a view!!!! Simply breathtaking. The cabin is comfortable, clean and relaxing. With all the things you think you may need: games, pantry items, boat, dock, and a campfire pit. We had a wonderful time and will definitely be back. Doug and Karen were amazing hosts with quick responses and patience showing our daughter a woodworking project.

    Danielle2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Karen was very quick to respond, accommodating, and pleasant to work with. The cottage was absolutely perfect in every way! I grew up on Big Elk Lake, and visiting home is always a wonderful time. Karen's lake cottage is set up perfectly with just the right amount of country charm. It is clean, inviting, children friendly (the loft is the best), and super fun! We will definitely be going back as soon as possible!

    Sarah2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Super kid friendly! All the basic kitchen essentials you need for baking or cooking to your heart’s content. Great for multi family or a large group. Super relaxing and low maintenance setting.

  • Amazing view of lake! Great fishing! Looking forward to returning!

    Shea2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is such a gem!!! Do not let the lack of A/C scare you off-the nights are so cool, even in August- we needed pants and sweatshirt in the evenings. We kept the windows open 24/7 and the home stayed cool even during the day. There are so many great thinks to say: -Amazing water pressure in the shower. -Super comfortable beds ( it was the best sleep I’ve had in months!) -open floor plan with gorgeous views of the lake from every bedroom and the common areas -clean kitchen appliances -comfortable couches -Smart TV -from the access dock you can paddle to the floating dock that is further out in lake to layout on the lounge chair or jump off for swimming and docking the boat and canoe. -fire pit, smoker, grill -Private playground in the backyard -very friendly locals and neighbors! -We went to Uptown Grill in Montrose one evening for dinner and it has the small town feel where everyone chatted and was friendly. -we are a family of runners and soccer players, so one afternoon we grabbed a ball, headed to the local Montrose High School, ran 3 miles on their track and played soccer on their fields- it is such a family friendly community! Karen was very responsive and a wonderful host! We hope to rent this cottage every summer.

This late 19th century farmhouse has been beautifully restored to feature the original hardwood flooring throughout but comes equipped with all the most important 21st century updates (heat, running water, electricity, wifi). Our 3 bd/ 1 bath home is perfect for a relaxing weekend getaway for couples, friends, or families, whether you want to serve a 3-course meal at our antique dining room table or relax at the picnic table while grilling in our outdoor fireplace.
Our home is set on a relatively quiet country road, with no neighbors in sight. The house is set up in typical farmhouse style, with the common areas downstairs in a flow-through floor plan and the bedrooms and bathroom on the second floor. The view of mountains from the front porch is breathtaking, and the backyard is bordered by a stone wall with a built-in fireplace for outdoor cooking.
This home is conveniently located only a 5 minute drive from Lake Winola or a 10 minute drive from the Susquehanna River. A large part of the area's charm is the vast tracts of pristine wilderness and verdant farmland, but basic amenities (local grocery store, pizza place, and gas station) are available only a short drive away. Locals think nothing of driving 30 minutes to a destination, and there are a vast number of tourist attractions in all directions to impress every member of your party, dependent on the season (wine tastings at Nimble Hill Winery, a trip into a once-active coal mine at the Anthracite Heritage Museum, skiing, golfing, berry picking, etc.) A list of local businesses and attractions is provided at the property for guests looking for recommendations. Our property is also only 5 minutes from the Barn at Glistening Pond, making it the closest lodging available for out of town wedding guests.
  • The home was warm, clean and full of amenities. Walmart is 15 mins away. Everything else at least 30 mins. Nice quiet area.

Enjoy peace and quiet in this simple mission style space overlooking the Endless Mountains.
This space was developed to pair with the studio space on the other side of the massive doors at the end of the hallway. Located above our wood shop, it is a simple open floor plan to absorb the mountain vibe from every window allowing for creative expression.
We are lucky to live in one of the most rural and authentic old communities in PA. Our farm is the original old Bennett homestead. Slowly, we are putting back together the 200 acre farm. We have the original homestead. The cottage and loft at on land that was part of the blue stone quarry and maple bush. Take a walk through the woodlot to see more history. Take a walk on the dirt roads, take in the breath taking view of the north knob of the Endless Mountain chain.
  • The views from the cottage are "endless," it was peaceful, quiet, and scenic. In addition to the animals at the farm the deer were plentiful. Seven of the cute creatures came to visit early mornings and evenings, along with numerous bunnies, some groundhogs and plenty of birds. The area has many quaint and charming small towns, beautiful lakes, and beautiful mountains. Kerry and John were very accommodating, friendly and helpful!!!

    Mf106@Aol.Com2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • I feel as if I left my second home. Kerry and John were amazing hosts. The animals will definitely be missed. I will be back.

    William2018-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect as usual. John and Kerry are there when you need them and otherwise just let you enjoy your quiet time. I’ll be back soon.

    Adam2018-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • First of all the pictures do not do it justice, it’s been completely renovated top to bottom, and everything works perfectly. It’s very spacious too. With a couple of Adirondack chairs on the deck that the sun hits perfectly. The setting is peaceful and quiet. In the kitchen they supplied fresh milk, coffee beans and eggs for us. They were completely unobtrusive, and there if we needed any tips or guidance. Can’t wait to go back!

    Adam2018-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • Hosts John and Kerry were a joy to rent from. They are very down to earth and very kind hearted. They went out if there way to make sure what we needed. If we are ever back in their area, we will absolutely rent from them again!

    Gary2018-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • I'm not sure what more my wife and I could say about our hosts John and Kerry. They are amazing and have gone out of their way to make sure we have everything we need. We have gotten to know them well and consider them friends. To be honest, we hate to go on to the next job because they have set the bar high for other hosts we will meet in the future on other jobs in other states. If you are ever anywhere near Hop Bottom, PA, you must stay at a rental that John and Kerry host. We will miss them when its time to leave for the next job!

    Gary2018-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I have rented " The loft", hosted by John and Kerry, nearing the 2 month mark and couldn't imagine staying as anywhere else as its a very warm, cozy, peaceful place to stay. The hosts are extraordinary people and will make you feel very welcome and comfortable.

  • My wife and I would highly recommend staying at a rental with hosts John and Kerry! They go above and beyond to make you feel welcome, comfortable, and make sure you have everything you need. We live 1/2 mile from PA's largest natural lake. The lake is approximately 8.5 miles around. Guests will have access to the first floor: a shared living room and a shared kitchen. Guests may also use a shared deck with a grill, table and 4 chairs. We have a Keurig and K-cups, so if you would like to make a coffee in the morning, please feel free to do so.
Our house is 2640 square feet. We are a family of 3 people, 1 dog and 1 cat. Our home is a no-shoes house. You will have to place your shoes on the area rugs upon entering the home. You are welcome to wear slippers, as long as they have no outside dirt.
On our street, it is very quiet. We have neighbors, but not too close. At night here, you won't hear much... maybe just some baby frogs out in the pond at the back of our house. You may even see some deer in our front yard.
  • Everything was fine:)

  • Kyrston's place was amazing. The house is beautiful and the bed was comfy. It was extremely clean and there was a great breakfast provided. We even went to the private beach which was lots of fun! A+ highly recommended.

  • Kryston was a fantastic host, had coffee and toiletries, as well as everything being very clean and inviting. I would highly recommend, did I mention that she was a great host?

    Christopher2019-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most wonderful stay with Kryston and her family! The room and bathroom were spacious, clean and comfortable and we loved having our own balcony off our room where we gazed at the stars at night. The fridge on the balcony was helpful too. Kryston, her husband, Chuck, and her son, Cameron, are all so friendly and helpful. When we ran out of something, they were there offering us some of theirs to use. When we couldn’t find anywhere to rent kayaks to go kayaking on Harvey’s Lake, Kryston offered to rent me hers. She has a single and a double kayak. The lake is a private lake, so there are no public kayak rentals. Her son, Cameron, even paddled the kayak to the boat launch for us so we could enjoy a morning kayaking on the lake. So we didn’t have to transport it at all. He brought it right to us! They also had so many helpful suggestions on things to do and where to eat in the area. We had an amazing time with Kryston and her family!

    Steven2019-07-07T00:00:00Z

  • This is the perfect house for large group, very spacious, charming, decorated so nice and has all the amenities needed for a long weekend away. The wrap around porch is wonderful to enjoy a book, quite time watching nature or having coffee or wine. Kyle is a great host, very responsive and accommodating. I would highly recommend this beautiful home.

Rediscover genteel country living in my peaceful, private Victorian home on 8-acre "farmette." With views of the Endless Mountains & Susquehanna River valley from southern and eastern windows. Apple orchard, horses, spacious lawns, wraparound porch
Views of the Endless Mountains inspire creativity or lazy Sunday day-dreaming. Spaciousness indoors and out renews the spirit and provides an environment that encourages both reflection and invigoration. Breathe easy with the knowledge that the property is pesticide- and herbicide-free, maintained with environmentally-responsible products, and home to an organic garden (in season). The principles observed here reflect my dedication to living lightly on this earth. Peaceful setting in large Victorian home with period furniture, antiques, and a feel of "grandma's house" that you remember from your childhood, with genteel taste. Set on a hilltop on 8 acres with views of the Endless Mountains and Susquehanna River valley. Enjoy the wrap-around porch with rocking chair overlooking the shady eastern lawn or the expansive front acre with room for football, frisbee, soccer or romping with the dogs! Country charm in an agricultural community...the vistas alone are worth the drive... verdant forests, working farms, riding stables... horses and dogs complete the "farmette" ambiance. The Master Suite (currently the only available space) is a second-floor hideaway with windows to the west and south that give it a sunny, cheery brightness. It has King-sized four-poster bed, double closet, vintage furniture, plenty of drawer space. Wireless internet. Shared use of kitchen, living room, dining room. Private tiled shower/bath. Stay a day, a summer or a semester...rates decrease with length of stay (please inquire). Contact Beth at: (EMAIL HIDDEN) or (EMAIL HIDDEN)
This area is a little slice of heaven. Wildlife abounds...we routinely have turkey and deer in my apple orchard, (well-behaved) bears frequent the woods behind the house, coyotes sing, foxes frolic, woodcock and grouse zig-zag through the (URL HIDDEN) a richly inhabited area. Take a walk on local backroads, or into the woods. Watch the moon and the stars from the front lawn or porch, or appreciate the unobstructed views from your bedroom windows. Feel the serenity of the surrounding natural community wash through you and restore your equanimity, readying you for your further travels or your return to the workaday world.
  • Enjoyed my visit and will stay here again the next time I’m in the area

  • Nice and big house, amazing dogs, I enjoyed my stay

    Hamza2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • Beth was lovely and very accommodating to both my dogs, horse and I. The view from the bedroom is very nice and I would love to see it when it snows there :). It is a very convenient distance from Wilkes-Barre where I was working and the view in the area in general is gorgeous. A very nice place to stay. Thanks so much for having us!

  • Beth has a beautiful histric home in a rural setting... a very enjoyable stay!

    Byron2019-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first time using Airbnb and it was a great experience! Beth was very friendly, accommodating, and flexible with my schedule!

    Bethany2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Beth's place was everything I had hoped for, a charming house in a quiet pastoral setting. The bed in my room had just the right amount of firmness, affording a great night's sleep. Although Beth is a dog breeder, the animals were kept out of sight (and sound!). As a vegan, I didn't take Beth up on the offer of fresh-from-the-barn eggs, but she accommodated my diet with an assortment of fresh fruit. I will definitely stay here again on future visits to the area.

  • Great place! We stayed here for a few nights to help my brother move in for college. The view up to the home is beautiful and the whole area is stunning. Beth is super sweet and very accommodating. Definitely recommend!

  • Jillian's place was a perfect spot for my dog and I to get some rest during a long road trip. Jillian very kindly made up the sofa bed for me before I arrived, which made it simple to get settled in. She even left some fruit and cereal in the kitchen, which was a nice touch. The space was as described and easy to locate with plenty of parking and good footpath lighting. Something to note, if you are a Verizon customer, you may not have cell coverage at this location! That is not a problem once you get on the WiFi, though (it works great).

  • Jillian’s place was great, perfect for a weekend stay in PA! She was great with communication and accepted our request to book just a day before our stay. The place was clean and the host left some nice breakfast items, which were highly appreciated. Beautiful yard, great place. The kitchenette was equipped with everything we needed and then some. It looked just like the photos! We highly recommend! Thank you!!

Our lakefront retreat is in the beautiful Endless Mountain region of Northeastern PA near Keystone College, and the scenic Nicholson Bridge/Tunkhannock Viaduct. Lackawanna State Park is less than a ten minute drive, and local golfing options abound. We are located within a lovely private lake community on a waterfront property with a porch, dock, sizable lawn, and outdoor arbor. It is a wonderful retreat suitable for couples, solo adventurers, and families.
The first floor is large and open. It is fabulous for family time, with wonderful views of the lake. Both bathrooms were remodeled in 2017 and kitchen was updated with a new fridge, floor and added counter space. New full size washer, dryer and dishwasher added.
This private lake community is quiet and welcoming. It is a great location for rest, relaxation, and recharging.
  • Home offers a great porch with beautiful views of the lake and eagles.

  • Lovely stay in this unique property. Love the open plan living area with fantastic access and views of the lake. Balcony and dock are perfect for watching the world go by! We even had the opportunity to float down to the nearby clubhouse and watch the classic Jaws movie from the water! Take your pick of bedrooms and make sure you go wine and beer tasting at the local excellent Nimble Hill Winery and Brewing Company!

  • Relaxing stay right on the lake edge. Plenty of bedrooms to suit all types of groups. Clean bathrooms and kitchen very functional. For longer stays it’s great to have a washer and dryer. Excellent not having to worry about bringing towels and linen. Kate was quick to respond to all communication. Oh and there’s a new grill too.

    Vanessa2019-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • It was a wonderful space and had a great view. It was the perfect little space on the lake. If another trip happens we would stay here again.

    Andrew2019-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place and lovely view.

    Jagdishwar2019-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice home with beautiful views of the lake. We would definitely stay here again and actually are already planning on it!

    Heidi2019-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Enjoyed our stay at this lake house. We were not there much as we used it for sleeping to visit family in the area. It was nice to have plenty of beds for everyone. The configuration worked well for our large group. Prior to our visit, I was worried about staying warm with only the gas fireplace to heat the entire house. It worked great, we all slept comfortably and warm with no issue. I would stay here again with a group.

Welcome to the Bohemian Cottage! Located just seven minutes from downtown Dallas on two idyllic acres, you'll be away from the hustle yet close to nearby colleges, restaurants, and wedding venues. Here, your bedroom will be freshly cleaned and cozy, complete with towels, wash cloth, and a treat, as well as extra blankets and pillows and fresh flowers on your nightstand. I provide guests breakfast and snacks throughout your stay.
The bottom floor of the house is a beautifully renovated apartment where I (the host) live with my super friendly lab mix June and skittish cat Charley.
The cottage is located so close to town and other conveniences yet tucked away.
  • Staying here was the best decision we made. The space is beautifully styled, June is the most loving animal, and Amanda has a gift for people. The home was cleaner than a 5 star hotel and overflowing with healthy plants, thoughtful books, and warm lighting. A true rare gem....the home, the dog, and the host.🌷
