Places to stay in Kutztown
NOTE: This property is not zoned for student housing, and therefore it is NOT AVAILABLE to Kutztown University students or ANYONE 25 YEARS OR UNDER. Additional Note: Unfortunately, because of the small window of time to turn the suite for incoming guests, we cannot accommodate an early check-in or late check-out (Check-in: 4PM, Check-out: 11AM).
The Modern Barn Suite is part of a post and beam carriage house that was built during the turn of the century. Over the years, the structure has evolved into several different living spaces and now exists as a two bedroom home (which is a separate listing on Airbnb - if interested, please inquire about its availability) and the attached in-law suite (this listing). The current style of the in-law suite can be described as modern rustic with mid-century influences. It consists of a full bedroom, separate living room, and a small area to eat and/or work. There is a private entrance and parking space included. This 1 BR suite is great for a single traveler or a couple but can accommodate up to 4 guests. It is cozy and comfortable with modern amenities such as a new cast iron soaking bathtub, flatscreen tv, small fridge and a Keurig. The space is perfect if you are in town for work or exploring the area for a few days.
The property is located in the middle of Kutztown, one block from restaurants, bars, and shops on Main Street. Kutztown is a college town and the University is just an 8 minute walk from the house. The University often has events, speakers, etc. scheduled year round. During the summer months, the neighborhood is fairly quiet and relaxed. As college towns go, it is more lively during the academic year from September through early May. There is student housing throughout Kutztown and the students can be heard from time to time on the weekends. There has never been a problem regarding excessive noise during the school year. There is plenty to do in this charming town. If you are interested in a quick bite, there are great options along Main Street such as Mexican, vegan wraps, and craft beer and BBQ. Next door to our house is HIVE, an organic farm to table café offering a variety of local goodies, prepared foods, coffee, and drinks. In addition, there are local shops and specialty stores to explore, and a movie theater all within walking distance.
  • Our second time staying here. Love it! Feels like coming home. Super clean with nice decor, cute touches and the most comfortable bed ever! Nice to have a reserved parking spot, too! Great place!

  • We absolutely loved our stay. The apt was beautifully decorated with modern decor. The refrigerator, coffee maker and microwave were all used. If we stay again, we will bring some paper plates, cups and plastic ware because we ate our leftovers from restaurants and always have water to drink. The place was exceptionally clean and conveniently located to restaurants and bars. We were visiting family, as I grew up in the area, and it was the perfect midpoint for our meetings. As a couple who travel for a living, staying in a place that feels like a home is important to us when we travel for pleasure. This place fit the bill. We cant wait to stay again.

  • We loved our stay at Heather's place! It was everything we needed. The space itself is cozy, clean, and bright. The vintage style bathtub is on point and I highly recommend using it during your stay. We greatly enjoyed being walking distance from the main street in Kutztown and visiting local shops and restaurants.

  • Clean, nice quaint stop for a a few nights.

    Ryan2019-12-11T00:00:00Z
  • After traveling 6 hours for a trip that usually takes 4, driving through a recent winter storm, I was so excited to arrive at my “home away from home”! So nice to be in a private, quiet and very relaxing setting.

    Cindy2019-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • If you’re looking for a quiet, clean, cozy, and conveniently located place to stay, Heather’s place is a good spot only a seconds walk to Main Street. You can literally walk out your door to the coffee shop about 10 feet away! Stayed here to visit family for the holidays, recommend for couples without kids or pets, would definitely stay here again in the future.

    Janet2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • This is my third stay at this wonderful home. I will be there again in two days when I bring my daughter back to school. We plan on many future stays, it truly feels like our home away from home.

    Cindy2019-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • This location is very accessible to the local food scene. The place is thoughtfully decorated and felt like home almost immediately. We will definitely book again if we are in the area.

Our cabin is your portal to rest, peace and tranquility! Inside is a cozy, comfortable retreat and when you step out the back door it's like entering a little piece of paradise. We're told that it's the perfect place for a writer or artist to release their creativity but it's also a great place for a couple's or family getaway.
Our one room cabin is conveniently furnished with a kitchenette, seating area, expandable dining table and queen bed. A sofa provides comfortable seating and opens into a queen size bed. The kitchen includes a full sized fridge, electric range, running hot and cold water and is equipped with the basics in pots and pans, dishes, cups and utensils. There is a heating and cooling unit that will keep the cabin comfortable during all seasons. A small enclosed bathroom inside the cabin holds a compost toilet. Shower facilities are inside the farmhouse which is only a short walk from the cabin. The back porch of the cabin is an idyllic spot in itself, as it overlooks a large creek. It's the perfect place to enjoy a cup of morning coffee or to eat your lunch at the picnic table with the sounds of the creek flowing just below the bank. There is a small private yard to the back of the cabin with a fire ring for cooking if you prefer to make your meals outdoors. The creek that flows through the front of our property is great for wading, fishing, critter catching, tubing, etc. Guests are also welcome to walk through the woods to collect hickory nuts or to pick berries from the many varieties of berry bushes around the property.
We are off the beaten path, which is why so many people comment about how quiet and peaceful it is here. The nearest town, Virginville, is only a mile away but don’t blink or you’ll miss it! Kutztown, where Kutztown University is located, is only ten minutes away. There you can find groceries, gas, cafes, a small local movie theater and other quaint stores and shoppes.
  • If you need a quiet place to get away and to enjoy the beauty of nature, this is the place! And the host is so gracious. Beside the cozy cabin, we had a wonderful time walking around the farm, enjoying the creek and building a fire to roast hot dogs and marshmallow outside the cabin. It is only a few miles from the town if we need to go out to eat or to get anything.

    Kauffmans2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean cabin, small and homey. Great place to get away for awhile

    Andrew2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • My family was looking for a place to stay while visiting our daughter who attends Kutztown University. We could have stayed in the hotel the just opened down the street from the University but staying here added a fun, outdoorsy experience that made our trip even better. The cabin is on a peaceful farm surrounded by nature. We enjoyed going to visit the cows as they grazed in the pasture. We also took a hike in back of the farm and got to see a group of sheep grazing. There is a fire pit & picnic table in back of the cabin that we used in the evenings and in the AM. It feels like a private backyard and overlooks a beautiful creek. The cabin was quaint and really all we needed. The bed was comfortable and the pull out sofa bed was fine for 2 teenagers. I did attempt to sleep on it and I quickly moved back to the bed. Coffee was provided. There is a compost toilet in the cabin which was fine once we got the hang of it. The full bath with shower is actually located in the main house just a few steps away but it's part of a sun room that is shut off from the owners residence so it did feel like a private bathroom to us. My kids also enjoyed playing with their 2 very friendly cats. I would definitely stay here again next time we come for a visit. It was very quiet and relaxing and it reminded me of camping (maybe more like glamping!)

    Brooke2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great little cabin with an equally stellar atmosphere. Just be aware that you will have to leave the cabin and go into the main house to shower.

    Everett2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Arrived at Joy & Dave’s a little later than expected but everything went super smooth. Woke up to an amazing view from the back of the cabin. At breakfast at the leesport diner which isn’t too far, had lunch at the setter ridge vineyard (they had a festival so we tasted wine and cheese, they also had a food truck) for dinner we went to ozgoods, again not far at all. The cabin was super tidy and peaceful! Can’t wait to come back. Thanks Joy & Dave was a pleasure.

    Tina2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Really awesome place on a beautiful, quiet farm with a creek running through it. We happened to have beach chairs in our trunk, which we placed in the middle of the creek, while drinking a beer and reading a book The cabin was spotless and had everything we needed - coffee, condiments. there is a little porch, so if you do get some rain, at least you can still be outside. we also really enjoyed the location, roughly in between Kutztown and Hamburg. I hate city driving, but driving 10 minutes or so to each of these towns is a beautiful site-seeing trip unto itself.. each town had a brewery and a few nice little shops.. and Renningers antique and food market, outside Kutztown was a nice bonus, too. ... way better than a hectic summer weekend down the shore. we'll definitely return

    Chris2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Joy's place was amazing. The place itself gives you a sense of peace. I love it so much! It's a quiet and lovely place. The place had all the basic necessities for cooking. We were able to talk and think without the chaos of life. It is a very lovely place for a getaway. The outdoors accomdations were a plus too! It adds to tht inner peace that is needed becauseyou can sit outside and walk.

    Mar2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Everything we needed to thoroughly enjoy ourselves! The cottage is very clean and comfortable; the stream is perfect for wading and tubing, with shady and sunny spots and a large willow; the farm is beyond beautiful and open to be explored. It was a special pleasure to watch the family drive the cattle across the stream into another pasture one morning. Their love and care for the animals and their property is clear. There’s plenty of wood and cooking gear if you want to make a fire, and there’s a binder with menus from local restaurants. A large grocery store is a ten-minute drive away. All in all, peaceful and welcoming with everything you need.

  • KU alumni here. My girlfriends and I decided to go back to KU for the first time in 10 years. This home was the perfect location right on Main st. It was very clean and spacious. Kermit was very accommodating to our requests. We will certainly be staying again for our next KU trip. We had so much fun!

    Jennifer2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The place was very nicely put together. The location was superb. When we arrived there were a few items that were a little bit out of place and he responded rapidly and had his house cleaning service come right away over and do another cleaning. The stairs getting to location was quite a few but once getting inside you really don’t wanna leave.

  • Kermit is extremely accommodating and welcoming as is his property. He always responded immediately to my messages and went out of his way to help me with check out times, etc. The home is impeccably clean with brand new appliances and finishes. Fully stocked linens, towels, and pillows! I felt really at home here! The best part was the location. Right on Main Street in Kutztown allows you to walk to every destination in town. I enjoyed my morning runs very much! I would recommend this place, and any place Kermit rents, highly.

Located outside is a patio, private fenced in yard for your pets and views of farmland. No need to worry about noise in our shop! We have a small construction business and only use it to service equipment during normal business hours.
Our rental is located in the middle of a large farm. You will not have any neighbors. The surrounding area is predominantly farmland.
  • We stayed for two nights while helping my sister move to New Jersey from my home state. The communication and understanding was amazing all the way to our stay, and the stay itself was amazing. When coming back from moving my little sister and to stay our last night we found that our host had put fresh flowers out for us. It was such a lovely touch and really made my sad day from moving my sister, a little brighter.

    Ariel2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful experience. The space is beautifully renovated and feels super modern and clean. The kitchen area and bathroom are immaculate, and the bedroom is super cozy. It was great to be able to walk up the ridge in the backyard, and watch the sunset over the Lehigh valley. It was a perfect experience too for our dog, where he had his own doggie door, and play-space in the back. Recommended for couples or really anyone exploring areas around Hamburg. Jess was super awesome, helpful and hospitable!

Please help a disabled veteran family while you stay in the private BR in 1880s home. Our home was originally the local general store, post office and pony express hotel. George Washington's troops slept across the street. Some have been worried. Some have been scared. Some have claimed to see orbs. All have been warmly welcomed! She is far from perfect but comfy enough to have a nice time in the country. We do have friendly pets. 1 cat and 1 old dog who believes everyone comes to see her.
We have 2 acres of fenced pasture for up to a week stay. Owners must remain on the premises with their large animals unless prior discussion occurs.
We are a cross of old country farms and new developments.
  • Mike and Michelle are exceptional. Plenty of good vibes all around.I felt very welcomed and instantly at ease.Highly recommend!

  • What can I say. Some people are placed in your timeline of life for for reason. I've never met any more generous, loving & caring ( to a fault) people. like Mike & Michelle. They are truly genuine. I stayed 36 nights in there home and now have new friends and family. Like every family, we have our struggles. Mike & Michelle would give you their shirt off their back regardless. I truly love this family. God is Good. ❤️🙏

The farmhouse was built in 1825 and still retains the original woodwork and windows. The property has beautiful 360 degree views of the surrounding farmland. It is decorated with artwork done by relatives in the mid 20th century. Peaceful location is convenient to Routes 78, 22, and 222 and nearby colleges/universities and hospitals. It is also in short driving distance to Bear Creek, the Velodrome and local wineries.
This historic farmhouse has been renovated inside to ensure your comfort during your stay. Large windows allow natural light into the spacious interior. The exterior restoration work is still a work in progress so please forgive the unrefinished features while we continue to bring the house back a restored condition. Due to the older nature of the structure and the countryside setting, we ask you to be understanding of certain expectations. Occasionally insects will make their way into the house and you may hear foxes, coyotes or deer outside at night. Bedrooms 1-3 each have a queen size bed. They are accessed by the main staircase and share a full bath (shower). Bedroom 4 has a full size bed and separate full bath (shower). It is reached via a sharp winding staircase off of the kitchen that may be challenging for some. Sheets and towels are supplied for your stay. Please hang wet towels to dry on supplied racks. Do not leave them on furniture or wood floors. Kitchen- basic cooking supplies (pots and pans) are located in cabinets and dishes and utensils are supplied as well. There is no garbage disposal and no dishwasher. Please scrape food into trash before washing dishes. There is a Keurig and a limited supply of K cups, sugar and creamers. Bathrooms- each shower has shampoo, conditioner and body wash. There are makeup washcloths for your use. Please avoid staining the white towels. Due to the older plumbing only flush the supplied toilet paper. All other products should be disposed of in the trash can.
The farmhouse is surrounded by 250+ acres of protected farmland. In summer you can see cows grazing on the slope across the street and views include cornfields, wheat fields and tree areas.
  • This is a beautifully restored home in a beautiful country setting. Loved looking out of the windows onto the fields around the house. The house is so clean, with many special amenities including fresh fruit on the kitchen table, lots of extra towels, little amenities in the bathrooms, fully stocked kitchen, & lots more! We will come back!

  • Laura’s family home was an absolute delight to stay in. The impeccable attention to detail at every level provided a unique Pennsylvania country getaway experience that we will never forget. The fine choices of art, modern appliances, and travel amenities were our favorite features of Laura’s home. It is set in beautiful farm country and is only a 10-15 minute drive from the Bear Creek mountain resort and ski lodge. Laura and her family are courteous and gracious hosts who go the extra mile to make you feel welcomed.

    Michael2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Laura’s house was pristine, comfortable and beautifully decorated. She was an excellent host sending information in advance and stopping by to make sure we had everything we needed. Staying there felt like a real getaway — the house is unique and stylish. Our group of 7 had more than enough room. The house is conveniently located near Bear Creek Mountain Resort. We hope to return next year!

  • This farmhouse is beautiful and so well stocked - we appreciated all of the thoughtful touches (coffee station, fresh flowers, fruit, make up removing wipes, plenty of towels & linens, etc.) Pictures are a very accurate representation of the home but you can’t appreciate the openness of the rooms with the beautiful windows and views until you are there. The home is not only aesthetically pleasing but also very comfortable. Communication was excellent and Laura answered all of questions quickly - so helpful. This house is a gem. Hope to return in the coming years! Emily

  • A beautiful, super clean home with amazing artwork, super comfy beds and amazing views. It's even better than the pictures! Laura and her husband were informative with quick responses to any of our questions. We have already recommended the home to friends.

One private BR in our 1880s home that was originally the local general store, post office & pony express hotel. She has been loved by many families. Far from perfect but comfy enough to have a nice time in the country. We do have pets. 1 cat & 1 old dog who believes everyone comes to see her. This is an old house. Old houses can get a little dusty despite daily cleaning and things don't shine like a new house. Think of the Walton's house and that's pretty close. Baths & kitchen cleaned daily.
A disabled veteran (Mike) maintains the grounds. Some days he is sore but it always gets done. Marines--Semper Fi. The outside has a fire pit and a great porch to chill on with your favorite beverage.
We are a cross of old country farms and new developments.
  • You can't miss with Mike and Michelle's lovely home and their kindness

  • Michelle and Mike's house is such a beautiful place to stay. They were so nice and so helpful. It felt like I was staying with family out in the country. Highly recommend staying here if you need a peaceful getaway or if you just want somewhere amazing to stay for half the price of a boring dull hotel.

    Riley2019-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Michelle is amazing. I absolutely loved her charm and down-to-earth nature. She was very genuine in making sure that I had everything I needed to feel at home. The house reminded me so much of my own family farm house, so I felt at ease instantly. I'll definitely stay with them again if I'm headed to that area :)

    Devonshire2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • It's just how its described on the listing. If you ever seen Forrest gump house in the movie it's just like that. Lots of space quite in middle of farm land. The owner are cool as hell lol the house has lot of history and I loved it . The dog and and cat are great the dog wants belly rubs and the cat is her personality haha. I would diff stay there again. Thanks mike and michelle

  • Mike and Michelle are the definition of hospitality. They heard that I was going to sleep in my car. They stayed up until late for me to come in and took me in as a hen takes in her chicks in an Autumn storm. Farm fresh eggs, local fruit, open access to the lovely kitchen. A home full of country charm and hospitality. I felt safe in their home and could come and go as I pleased. My favorite AirBNB in the state of PA would recommend the place to everyone I love.

  • Old time feel with amazing hosts and great value!

    Lisa2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Mike and Michelle are some of the nicest people I've met. They had such great tips about local restaurants and places I felt like a local. Tons of parking, I can't wait to come back.

Gorgeous light and airy / character-filled contemporary & vintage 4 bedroom standalone house in up & coming Kutztown. We are right in the historic zone, are an easy walking distance from the Kutztown University and on the same block as amazing eateries such as Bettys, The Hive, La Cocina Mexicana and Pops Malt Shoppe and a whole lot lot more. AND its 2 blocks from The Strand old school movie theatre. So good. Best neighborhood ever.
We have a parking bay out back with room for 2 cars. The entrance to the back door has a patio with a wrought iron table and chairs for leisurely brunches while catching the morning sun. Through the back door is the cutest modern kitchen with an all new apartment sized stove and tiny dishwasher too, leading onto the separate dining room. The lounge has some super comfy mustard velvet vintage couches and a piano, large tv with Netflix and most importantly: good wifi! Up the winding stair case are the bedrooms: the middle one is a miniature yet houses a twin bed and drawers and is perfect for kids although adults are fine too. There is a modest master sized bedroom and the other two bedrooms are singles/twins and one of those has a bunk bed. The bathroom is a work in progress yet still cute in its sky blue colored unrenovated glory: shower over a bath - ol' skool styles. Off the hallway past the bathroom is a outside balcony with an excellent double swing seat and the best views of Kutztown - this spot is magical at night. The washer & dryer is in the slightly grungy yet homely basement which is easily accessed through a door in the kitchen. The furnace is cranking and sends heat throughout the registers in each floor so winters here are amazing. We have large box of legos and books if you are coming with kids 🙂 oh and LGBTQ and immigrant friendly! All are welcome!
This neighborhood is proper amazing - we moved here from NYC and love it. There are a mix of people in the area and lots of students and the shops are surprisingly great - Firefly Bookstore is the best bookshop! Paisley soaps makes great products. La Cocina Mexicana has authentic Mexican cuisine - I love it! Turkey Hill is open 24/7 on our block and Mark's burgers - good fast food - is across the road. SO many choices for meals. But if you are having Christmas here then you'll feel pretty comfortable cooking and hanging out in the house, and catching the latest movie at The Strand, grab a beer at the Kutztown Pub then maybe stroll along to a carol service at one of the cool old gothic churches nearby (probably not in that order 🙂). Make yourself at home!

  • Very nice and cozy cottage. Great spot to stay, we got in a few hikes on their beautiful and large property that follows a peaceful stream. Also great jump off point to Hawk mountain and Pulpit/Pinnacle hiking trails. They have all basic kitchen needs that allowed us to cook all of our meals at their place, including using their grill one night. I would recommend staying here to my friends.

  • This was a great weekend getaway! The house is cozy, clean, and perfect for 2 people. The house also sits on a great piece of land with lots of room to walk and explore. Thanks for a great stay, Dennis!

  • The property and coziness of the cottage were as good as it gets for the price, I’m sure. Everything one would need or ask was laid out thoughtfully in advance. The kitchen was great for cooking, the property was great for getting away, and the host was great for ensuring the trip was stressless. Maps showed us a location slightly farther down the road, but even with that and being in the pitch dark it wasn’t too hard to find the location. When the sun came up, the view was incredible. Went hiking casually, saw a few dear and rabbits, loved the nearby country store and butcher, and was able to get away from the world for a couple days. Would and did recommend to friends already, and will be back as soon as I can.

    Cameron2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Photos just don’t do this cottage and it’s location justice- the property was absolutely beautiful and the cottage had so many amazing and unique touches. We enjoyed the trails and the local tips as well as staying cozy indoors when it got rainy. We will definitely be back!

  • Hey! Had an amazing night in New Tripoli. There’s cool stuff to do Michelle let me know about (close by and a short drive), the tent was comfortable, there’s a lot of space, Michelle’s family was kind and hospitable, -and I had a great time. If you want to camp in this area I would recommend it. Had a great night by a campfire, there was a charcoal grill available, and everyone was super friendly. The area wasn’t really buggy and there was nice shade even when it was hot. Really close to a highway as well. Thank you!

Guests can take a walk on the grounds and if they are lucky they may spot some deer or wild turkeys.
The Art is Inn is conveniently located close to exit 49 off Interstate 78 about 50 miles northwest of Philadelphia and 80 miles southwest of New York City.
  • I had an Amazing stay here in Deborah’s BnB! It was clean, quiet and Beautiful. You feel like you’re in middle of nowhere, but are actually extremely close to everything. The room was totally comfortable. Deborah made me the most excellent breakfast and couldn’t have been any nicer. I will definitely be staying here again.

    Caesar2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Deborah accommodated my husband and I at the last minute, and we felt very lucky to stay in her comfortable farmhouse. She is a warm and friendly host, and a delightful cook! In the morning we and the other guests sat together for a satisfying breakfast of coffee, tea, juice, fresh fruit, croissants, bacon, and eggs cooked to order.

    Timothy2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely outstanding! Quiet. Serene. Close to many attractions in the valley. I've stayed at many AirBnB's and this is by far the best. I wish I could take back all the 5-stars I've given in the past, because this place puts those to shame.

    Josh2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Expect a warm and wonderful host. Additionally, a truly phenomenal experience. This is a B and B that is unforgettable. Enjoy your stay. You will be amazed.

  • If you are staying anywhere near Allentown, Kutztown or surrounding communities - stay here!! True BnB - great farmhouse atmosphere with spectacular views, first class service and a comfortable stay! Yoga on Saturday mornings downstairs followed by home cooked breakfast - Deb is a phenomenal host!

    Jim2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely inn with a few rooms and open studio space on the first floor, great views of the surrounding countryside and a nice outdoor sitting area. The room we stayed in was just a bit bigger than the bed but we were able to sit and talk in some of the common areas on the first floor. Other guests were a very pleasant older couple on a road trip. There is a regular yoga class on Saturday mornings and the occasional artist workshop during the week (studio space has a website with upcoming events: Art is Inn). Breakfast was good with fresh berries, croissants, and bacon. It fueled us for walks in the nearby state parks. It's a modest drive to the town of Jim Thorpe and Lehigh Valley attractions so worth considering if you want an away from town space while visiting that area as well.

    Jean2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Deborah is an amazing host with a servants heart. She truly cares about her guest and is very accommodating. Extremely clean, excellent food and the scenery is beyond description with beautiful lush hills, abundant wildlife and a rustic beauty all it’s on. Art is In is a great place for a quick get away or to meet up with ole friends and catch up on great memories. 5 Stars! I’d give more if I could!!. A beautiful, peaceful place, you won’t be disappointed.

This room is great for a couple or someone trying to get away from the city or urban environment. Located on an island off a dirt road so privacy is a plus for this room. Has a great fishing spot on the river out back and it’s a cozy little place deep in the woods for a nice get away
One room with a single bed that’s nice for a couple who don’t mind sleeping close or a single person in need of an outdoor experience. We have a nice living room with a fireplace to keep you warm at night or propane heat/electric floorboards if that’s not your style. Firewood can be provided or bought. We do have ferrets and cats but they keep to themselves and will be kept in a seperate room if they’re an issue.
The nearest gas station is about 5 minutes up the road but other then that you’re surrounded by a few houses owned by my lovely neighbors.
  • Rustic and no frills, but clean , quiet, beautiful cats/ kittens ; kind people and beautiful river in the back. A peaceful getaway spot, and very off the beaten path.

The house is spacious, well appointed, and it has an amazing playroom for little ones. The playroom also contains what seems to be every known board game for the amusement of older children and adults. It is also 3 minutes to the grocery store, a playground, and downtown Kutztown. • The home is nestled in a beautiful part of Macungie. It's close enough to grocery stores, restaurants and other conveniences but far enough from main traffic to feel like you're in a cabin in the woods. The place is spacious and comfortable. The host is very responsive. We would stay here again.

    Rachel2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing! The backyard is huge and they also have a grill! The inside of the home is beautiful, and makes you feel warm and comfortable. The hospitality was amazing! My host contacted me throughout the entire stay to ensure that my trip was a success. My family really enjoyed our stay. We planned a weekend trip to Dorney Park and wanted to stay nearby for the weekend. It was only a 20 minute drive which was very convenient.

    Cheryle2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Myself and a coworker rented for 2 nights. We had business in Macungie. We were very impressed with the cabin. It could easily host 10+ people comfortably. It was just the two of us, and we couldn't even hear each other as the rooms are nicely spaced out. It was clean, comfortable and the check-in process was easy. The yard is beautiful and the outside is just as charming as the inside. Highly recommend this place and will try and stay here on our next trip to the area.

    Matt2019-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cabin in a wooded, secluded area. Lovely at sunset. The interior is very comfortable, and we made use of the board games as well as the outdoor grill. The host was easy to communicate with and very responsive. A perfect getaway for a group of friends looking to escape the city for a weekend. Highly recommend!

  • We stayed in an unusual room perfect for a small family, one queen and two twins. There is another room with a double that all share a bathroom. Super clean, fabulous breakfast, and pretty grounds along with a huge common room with a gas fireplace where we watched our favorite Netflix series. Deb, our host, uses the space to host artist events. Simply lovely!

  • Very peaceful location in a rustic farm house. Don’t be surprised if your gps takes you down a gravel road (less than a mile) - this is one possible route.

  • Such a lovely and peaceful place. Erika and John are warm and gracious hosts with a wonderful home. It was a perfect place for our family to share some time together. The kitchen is amazing and so fun to cook in, and I loved having my morning coffee looking out over the valley on the back porch in the morning sun.

  • Not only is this home beautiful and spacious with large spaces for a family to gather, but it also has plenty of private spaces to get away to to read or nap. • We couldn't have started 2020 on a better note than with a trip to Erica and John's place. This place felt like home away from home - a blessing when you're traveling with a passel of young kids - and was a great base for our ski trip. Our hosts were most gracious and kind in accommodating our needs and the house was well stocked with everything we could need or want; indeed, they went the extra mile. We'd love to stay here if we ever revisit the area!

  • Katrina and Tamar are such kind people. Their home is absolutely beautiful as well as the surrounding property. It is definitely your home away from home! They were so welcoming and even invited us into their own home where we were able to see a view of their entire property from their roof. I can't tell you enough how amazing our experience was here. We will definitely be coming back in the near future! Thanks so much to you both!

  • Katrina and her husband were great! The place was beautiful and clean. Great experience, everything was amazing!! Highly recommend Katrina and her place to everyone!

    Michail2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • To start, words cannot explain how beautiful this house is. My family and I have traveled and seen a lot, but this house had us amazed. Every detail, from blankets, to chairs, to the bedroom layouts, and even the windows had us in awe. The beautiful house is just the start. Katrina and her husband GREETED US WARMLY from the time we came, and keep in mind we checked in earlier. They gave us a goodie basket loaded with snacks and a hand made kitchen cloth. They gave us a tour of the guest house where we were staying, and even gave us the privilege of entering their house in order to check out the widows peak (where the view was outstanding as it is the highest peak on their property.) We went snow tubing and came back late, truly only spend 17-18 hours in the house but it felt amazing. Katrina and her husband Tamar have an unmatched, outstanding sense of hospitality. This might be the best listing on air bnb in the east coast... and I’m not exaggerating.

  • I went on a ski trip with a bunch of my friends and we had such a wonderful stay here. It was so clean and cozy and we truly had a great time enjoying the view, cooking together and warming up by the wood stove. The hosts were beyond hospitable and kind and extremely responsive. Truly couldn’t have asked for a better stay!

    Phyllis2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • From the time we arrived to this picture perfect farmhouse, till the time we left was filled with endless “oohhs & aahhs”! Katrina and her husband greeted us with a lovely welcome basket and brief tour of their home. My boys could not get enough of their enormous basement and the hidden loft. The attention to detail thru out the home is impeccable, let alone the views you get to experience. And not to mention how sparkling clean this home was. We can’t wait to come back again with our family!

    Ashley2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Such a wonderful place to stay. Beautiful views. So very comfortable and cozy. Wished we would have booked a longer stay. Hope to return again.

    Michael2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • A sanctuary of tranquility and peace awaits you upon arrival to this beautiful Homestead. As you arrive you look to the surroundings of this magnificent place and you just breathe in peacefulness. So many windows are in every corner of this home. They allow light to brighten this home which only adds to the beautiful surroundings and all the decorative home touches. The place is so spotless and cozy. The wood fire burning only adds to the ambiance of winter. The playroom in the basement is a child’s paradise. Much energy can be expended in the trikes and climbing wall. Our time flew by as we had so much fun and down time in a home away from home. I highly recommend!!!!

  • We loved the location two houses away from the entrance to Bear Creek Lodge (we were there for a wedding). The look and feel of the place was perfect...clean, relaxing, calm, and enjoyable. My wife and I spent time talking, reading, lying in the yard during a sunny fall day, and watching our dog play in the grass. I’d recommend it for any couple looking to get away and recharge.

There is wifi and also a large backyard that is great for relaxing outside in the summer. Jaqueline was a fantastic host and was very responsive and the location is truly right at the foot of Bear Creek. Would definitely recommend and would stay again!

  • Great little farm experience! Got to walk around the property with Caren and meet her dogs, chickens, horses and cat. There are hiking trails around the property, a beautiful pond to sit by or take a ride on their canoe. Also up the hill there is a great sunset spot! The privacy of this property and area are great as you barely hear any cars or other human activity. Awesome to take in nature! The cottage is a perfect and has everything you need for a comfortable relaxing stay with lots of hiking and places close by to explore. Very clean, good hot water and pressure in the shower. A full kitchen to cook with dishes, silverware and cooking ware. Caren is even nice enough to provide fresh eggs, milk and coffee. The propane fire place is a great addition to warm up next to and sit by to relax. The cottage also has two wall heaters that are on each floor that do a fantastic job of making it your desired temperature. Wifi worked great, was able to stream movies and shows. Overall it was an excellent spot and would highly recommend!

If you're looking for a nice quiet weekend in the country, this is the place to go. Town is not to far away if you're looking to go out to eat or just to the market. Their property is amazing and you can just go for nice walks and enjoy to views and sound of waterfalls . It was truly a great weekend. I would definitely return.

  • Great stay! Donna has a beautiful home and she was very welcoming and quick to reply the house had plenty of space for my friends and I, it was 7 of us we had everything we needed!! There was actually plenty of stores/place within a 15 min ride if you needed anything else but the house was stocked with fresh towels, kitchen supplies etc. we loved the pool table and the hot tub was a plus too!! Will be visiting again in the summer

  • If I had to be honest I would recommend this house to everyone possible! Great space for families & even better for friends! We let off fireworks in the HUGE backyard that we were able to let our dogs roam in because it was enclosed. I planned a scavenger hunt for my boyfriends birthday which included needing roses and rose petals. Donna got up early and went to boutiques to get the roses, then set up exactly the way I needed it too! Her jacuzzi and pool were to die for! It’s from well water on her private acres of land so she personally cleans it and disinfects for you making it the cleanest spa you’ve ever been in. She arrived during our stay to very quietly make sure all ph levels were correct. If I didn’t say hi I don’t think I would have noticed she was there! She left and it was like she never came! Very attentive, detail oriented , all around amazing host. And an even better place to vacation at! With separate men’s and women’s locker rooms you will hardly need a bathroom !!!

  • We stayed here for my sister's "bachelorette" weekend. There were 7 of us total and plenty of room. The house was clean when we arrived and Donna even had a vase full of flowers on the table for when we arrived. She also allowed us to check in earlier so we could start decorating before my sister arrived (the location was a surprise for my sister). Any questions I had about anything during our stay, Donna was very quick to respond, which was so helpful! Some of the girls talked about booking it for future vacations with their families. The views from the house were amazing! Would definitely reccomend for a girls weekend or family vacation.

  • The pool house was perfect for our weekend getaway. Conveniently located just 20 minutes from Dorney Park, the pool house offered us a quite retreat for our family and friends to enjoy. Comfortably fit two families with 3 young children. Pool and fenced backyard kept the kids happy and the fire pit and hottub were great at night. Would absolutely stay again next time we are in the area.

  • Wow I can’t say enough great things about this home and our entire stay! Donna was so wonderful.. so sweet, accommodating, quick to reply to anything we asked, super organized with helpful tips in the home, and many special touches upon our arrival! We felt so welcomed and so comfortable. The home was gorgeous and clean, and everything we needed was there. We booked this getaway to do something special and different for my 40th bday and it did not disappoint!! My family loved it and want to go back! Even the dog loved having so much gated land to run free! The property is GORGEOUS! It was great to watch my family all walk to the fence line throughout the weekend to take in the beauty and appreciate it as much as I did.. even the kids! So glad I found this amazing place it was exactly what I dreamed up. Thank you Donna for making my birthday unforgettable!

  • If you enjoy a cozy stay in a gorgeous rural setting, deer grazing on your sprawling front lawn, domestic geese in your pond, feeding carrots the horses on the property and a friendly host then this jewel in Oley is a real find.

    John2019-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I stayed at the cabin for a week while visiting family in the area. The cabin was clean, spacious, and comfortable, and we felt quite at home. The setting was beautiful at this time of year, peaceful and relaxing, and we wish we could have spent more daytime hours there. As it was, we enjoyed our breakfasts looking out over the green lawn and the pond with its family of geese, and the nights were quiet and relaxing. Although the cabin is in a wooded area, it’s close enough to the main roads that you can be in Reading, Fleetwood, Kutztown, Exeter township, and more within 15-20 minutes. Kelly is a gracious and responsive host and was very accommodating of our schedule. It was a pleasure to deal with her. Navigation tip: Kelly told us how to get up their long drive from the road; we just couldn’t find the road when we arrived late at night. Initially, our GPS steered us wrong and we got lost. So no matter what your GPS tells you, I recommend that you approach their road from the southeast, from Friedensburg Rd. to Old State Rd to their road. It’s so much easier than from the northwest. As you go north on their road, count 4 “No Dumping” signs. Just after the 4th sign, the road curves up and to the left, and their driveway is right in front of you, going down.

  • to all future guests...there is no better place I can imagine to stay in Berks County. This cabin is in the most loving and beautiful location imaginable. There are welcoming dogs and cats, gently grazing horses and meandering chickens. and, so much land to traverse! This is a sanctuary and a balm to the soul.

    Zenta2018-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Kelly's place was the perfect quiet, clean, well decorated cozy spot for us! She was attentive and thoughtful and we had everything that we needed for our 2 weeks with her. The property is just beautiful with woods, pond, horses, geese, local eateries, and grocery store! Would definitely stay again. Lovely area of Pennsylvania.

    Becky2018-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • My daughter and I spent several days at this cabin. Everyday was like Paradise. Horses grazing peacefully, geese parading their little ones around, birds chirping and the frogs at night. The yard was beautifully manicured with 2 ponds. The cabin itself was clean, well stocked and had a large deck to sit and take in all the beauty. They don't come any better than this!!

    Katie2018-05-15T00:00:00Z

    Patrick2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful views and outstanding hospitality. Deb was amazing, as was the breakfast she prepared. The Inn was cozy and felt like home for my short stay. I highly recommend staying here!

    Mike2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I were only able to stay one night at Deb’s lovely place due to our schedules. But we wish we could have stayed longer and may return to do so. The place was very warm and welcoming. We loved the decor and theme of the whole place. It was clean, comfy, and spacious. Deb responded accurately and quickly to all our messages as well as treated us to breakfast and coffee in the morning. She gave us recommendations we could check out in the area. One that we definitely double down on the recommendation is the Blue Mountain vineyard. Also, within a 10 minute drive from Deb’s Air bnb is Premise Maid which is a adorable chocolate and ice cream shop we enjoyed. Then right before we left, Deb treated us to a quick painting lesson. It was a wonderful surprise and experience. You can see her work throughout the Airbnb. If you find yourself traveling through her part of town give her place a try.

  • A relaxing and wonderful time. Peaceful and serene. Debbie, the host made us feel extremely comfortable and welcome. Was helpful and accomodating. We felt at home there. the view from the back yard was lovely. just an all around relaxing getaway.

  • This is a perfect retreat - beautiful property, cozy accommodations, and a gracious host! Deb took great care of us! we had the fortune of being the only guests giving us private use of the common spaces - quite a treat! Deb greeted us on our arrival and even took the time to give a quick walking tour of the farm. We loved having the option to make teas, and the fireplace in the main great room was fantastic. Deb's breakfast was a good hearty one to start the day. We had come to celebrate our anniversary, and Deb even sent us home with beautiful flowers from her garden. I highly recommend Art is Inn!

Liberty call is three miles from the highway and yet surrounded by rolling hills of farmland, no traffic sounds on a road that is lightly traveled. It is a place to go for a quiet, peaceful getaway. A place to enjoy the sounds of the birds with a beautiful rural view…and yet a short drive to enjoy some shopping, restaurants, amusement park or cigars. It’s the perfect location to have the best of both worlds!
The listing is a converted 3-bay barn that we refer to as Liberty Call Farm. The deck is the full length of the house, has a gas grill, chiminea and 2 dining table with chairs (seats 12) and umbrellas. We have a little man made pond beyond the deck that houses several frogs who enjoy singing in the summer, especially when the sun goes down. When you walk into the converted barn, before you get to the kitchen and living room as described below, you enter in what we call the addition. It has a half bathroom and a TV with DirecTV. The converted barn is both modern and aged. The kitchen was remodeled in 2014 and is very roomy with room to seat 12, refrigerator, electric stove/oven, microwave, Keurig and lots of counter space. It is a fully functioning kitchen. The kitchen floor was also renovated with a beautiful wood floor. The living room, which can be clearly seen from the kitchen, has its original barn floor with tractor marks from where the tractors rode through. The original barn beams are found throughout the living room, along with ladders built into the beams. The living room has a 60” TV with DirecTV. The first floor has 2 bedrooms that share a bathroom. The second floor has 2 bedrooms that share a bathroom. The second floor also has the master bedroom with a private bathroom and a TV with DirecTV. The finished attic has a private bathroom along with 4 beds, 1 queen, 1 full and 2 twins and a TV with DirecTV. A private driveway can hold 5-7 cars. Additional parking of 5 can be accommodated if need be. If you have no pets the cleaning fee will be reduced to $100.
We are located in a quiet, low traffic area, surrounded by the Foliage Farm, Rodale Institute, Burkholder's organic dairy farm and produce and Brubaker's homemade quilts, all within walking distance. If you are into bicycling then this is the place for you, as you can travel for miles on the peaceful back roads. If you are looking for a little more excitement we are located no more than 30 minutes away from Dorney Park, Bethlehem Sands Casino, Cola-Cola Park, Reading Phillies Stadium and Bear Creek Mountain Resort.
  • Loved this place! The set up is fantastic - it's perfect for several families to stay together - each feeling like they have their own space while all being together. Donna is a great host and incredibly easy to communicate with!

  • So many rooms! The large open plan living room is great for hanging out and having brunch😀

    Joanna2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Donna's converted barn is one of the most unique places I've ever stayed in. It feels a bit like a log cabin, and it's huge! The house was fully stocked with linens and towels, and even some extra kitchen supplies/food apart from the standard appliances and kitchenware. The setup/layout is really cool, and part of the fun was just finding all of the different corridors and rooms in the house when we arrived. There was plenty of space for my group to stretch out, relax, cook, and just generally enjoy our time there. We spent a lot of time on the front porch, and the surrounding area was nice to take a walk around at night. And Donna was a really great, communicative host. She was quick to help smooth out arrival plans and even offered to let us stay a little later in the house on checkout day because we were getting in so late. I would definitely recommend staying here, and would book again if I'm back in the area and it's available!

    Rebecca2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent house with so many beds! Thoughtful owner and in a quiet spot close by to Dorney. Thank you!

    Aaron2019-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • Always a great experience here!! This was our second time staying here and we plan on doing it many more times! Lovely house, land and scenery. Not to mention, the hosts are amazing. You will not be disappointed if you stay here.

    Amber2017-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • This ski trip at Donna's house was my second experience staying with Donna in Kutztown. My next Airbnb host is going to have difficulty exceeding my standards because Donna is a exceptional host. Even before arriving on-site, Donna was accommodating with an early arrival time and lots of information about the area. When my friends and I arrived, Donna gave us a tour of the entire home. She had tons of firewood ready for the outdoor fire pit and the fireplace in the living room. Donna also let my friends and I use the gym that she secretly maintains in her basement! Before taking a tour outside to see the goat farm, Donna gave us a sampler six-pack of different beers that her family brews. The beer and the light snacks Donna left us in the fridge were excellent. What was even more enjoyable was the spread of breakfast items that my friends and I woke up to on Saturday morning. Donna left us home made banana bread and donuts/pastries from the local bakery. I can continue to go on about Donna being a great host, but I also want to highlight how enjoyable the home itself is. The common areas (kitchen, living room, and outdoors) are very comfortable. The living room had a huge TV and couch which also turns into a bed if you need it. The kitchen is attached to dining area with all the nick-knacks that make you feel like you are in a heartfelt home. The kitchen contained all the tools, utensils, and seasonings needed to cook for our group of 14. The outdoors/goat pen will speak for itself when you arrive. Donna let us pet and feed her goats at our discretion. Everyone back home in Staten Island loved our videos. Thanks for an amazing experience Donna. My friends and I look forward to coming back for our next ski trip!

  • I highly recommend this beautiful handcrafted cabin. The pictures do not do the home justice. The cabin is huge and has so much character. There is a wood burning fireplace and fire pit. The hosts own a herd of goats that you can hand-feed in the backyard. All around you, you're surrounded by green rolling pastures and sunlight. And if you need groceries, there's a Walmart just 15 minutes away. For us, it was a quick 2 hour drive up from NYC. Donna the host was truly wonderful. I have nothing but great things to say.

    Bree2017-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Liberty Call is an excellent place to stay for larger families. Donna is an excellent host who provided much more than we could ever have expected. The converted barn is perfect in all of its imperfections. Very cool. If you're looking to stay in a quiet, rural area, this is the place to be. The 13 goats are just icing on the cake. Our only regret was that our stay was too short to fully appreciate the property, and that we didn't have a gift for our hosts that represents our home town/state. Come prepared to be taken care of.
