Places to stay in Independence
You have traveled, you have explored. You have stayed in many places! Now its time to stay in one of the coolest locations you never knew existed. Stay in the top of a Silo! The Silo was finished in Nov 2018. We’ve been renovating this old 1950’s dairy barn/silo since 2013. The Silo has 4 floors and the top 2 are yours! There is a living room on the third floor (and bathroom) and bedroom at the very top with windows all around and 360 degree view ! Also your own private deck off the bedroom.
We bought and have been renovating an old dairy barn since 2013. We had a goal to renovate the attached silo into a beautiful place people could come and enjoy. The silo itself is 4 stories. The top two floors are your living spaces. A living room and private bathroom with a bedroom on top. The rooms are circular, the original shape of the silo. The bedroom has windows that go all the way around the top for a stunning 360 degree view of the mountains and valley. It is an experience you will never forget! Breakfast is not included, however, there is a screened- in full kitchen for you to use anytime. The refrigerator will be stocked with fresh eggs, bacon, butter, oatmeal, grits and coffee/cream. HOWEVER, the outdoor kitchen is closed Nov-April due to weather conditions but there are restaurants in town. NOTE: This is a tall Silo. There are 15 steps to the entrance ( living area) and 12 more interior steps to the bedroom. ***We also have 2 other Suites available: Creekside Bungalow, sleeps 4 Rustic Rooster Room, sleeps 6

  • This was our second time staying at the silo and both experiences were outstanding. There's so many ways you can enjoy your experience at the Silo. From quiet country serenity to soaking in the natural beauty hiking in nearby Grayson Highlands State Park, we had a wonderful time. When you step into the Silo you can sense the love and meticulous craftsmanship that went into building and decorating it. Karen is a wonderful host with so much energy and a great sense of creativity and fun that is reflected both inside and outside. We can't wait to come back again, and we're sure you will feel the same way too after your visit.

  • You may be reading all the reviews and thinking to yourself is it really THAT magical and lovely? And the answer is unequivocally, without a doubt 10000% yes! The property is beautiful and serene, the silo is stylish and unique and fun, and Karen and her family are incredibly welcoming and lovely! I can’t recommend this place enough. It was the perfect relaxing getaway. The story of how the place came to be is amazing and makes you appreciate it that much more. If you are looking for one-of-a-kind accommodations where you can unwind, do yourself a favor and book here. You’ll also have access to great hiking about 45 minutes away in Grayson Highlands State Park! We are already planning our return trip.

  • If you have stumbled upon this Hallmark gem you should consider yourself lucky and book immediately. Even the drive to The Silo is one that makes you take pause and soak in the open spaces. Upon arrival to our Dream Getaway, we were greeted by the most enthusiastic cats. Karen and Bill are the loveliest people who invite you into the magical world that they have created filled with fresh air, unmatched craftsmanship and a 360 view from your bed (and a balcony overlook!) make you want to cry from its beauty. The stunning hiking trail of Grayson Highlands State Park was gorgeous in the winter season with a frosted dusting on everything (and we are eager for our next trip back to see everything in bloom). There is a story and purpose in every cozy detail and we are so appreciative to have gotten to live the experience.

  • My husband and I stayed in the silo for a few days for a winter vacation and this place was just AMAZING!! Having the rays of sun wake you up each morning and falling asleep to the moonlight it doesn't get much better. The hosts are very welcoming and easy to chat with. The Christmas decorations made you feel like you stepped right into a hallmark movie which I love. The place is only about 20 to 30 minutes away from all kinds of shops and resturants. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking to truely relax in the country side. We hope to visit again.

  • I've been staying at B & B's for over 5 years and have found Karen's Dream Rock Silo to be the best. The location, incredible view of they're creek, mountains, and the warm feeling of being "home" as you relax in your comfortable space, makes for great experiences in themselves. Karen and Bill made us feel like family. This was truly a hallmark experience.

    William2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • This was my best Airbnb experience ever, the place was well designed and very detail was thought of very carefully. Plus, Karen and Bill were an outstanding hosts.

We have been renovating an old 1950's dairy barn for the past 5 years. We fell in love with this location because the barn is set in a beautiful valley in the Appalachian Mountains. You have to drive through the creek to get to the barn. We built this private bungalow on the creekside of the barn with its private entrance. It is close enough to the creek to hear it from your bedroom window. *** We also have 2 other Suites available: Dream Rock Silo, sleeps 2 Rustic Rooster Room, sleeps 6

Outside, you can expect beautiful mountain scenery and a peaceful atmosphere, with a calming creek next to your bungalow. And the landscaping and creek rock walls are outstanding! The bungalow has its own entrance. There is a bathroom with stand up shower , full kitchen and living area. There is 1 separate bedroom with a queen size bed. • Karen went above and beyond. When I first met her I thought she was extremely sweet. A few months ago I was trying to find somewhere to elope in the mountains and when I asked her about ideas she offered to let us have it there. By all means she is like family and I can't imagine my life without her and her Dream Rock Silo. My husband and I will always come back!

    Sarah2019-12-04T00:00:00Z
  • This is my second time back, and it will absolutely not be my last visit to Dream Rock Silo. And again, like I did in August, I stayed at the Creekside Bungalow. Sitting by the rushing creek on my favorite bench, steps away from the bungalow, provided such a restful sense of peace. This magical place has completely changed, for me, the definition of "vacation." When I am here, surrounded by mountains and incredible, pastoral views of countless acres of pastureland, with complete silence other than the melodic symphony of the ever-flowing creek, chirping birds, and winter's breath of chilled wind, my "me time" is more of a holistic sabbatical rest physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. Grayson Highlands is one of several great hiking spots less than 30 minutes drive away. The Dream Rock Silo property is tucked away about a mile or two off the main highway, on great, well-maintained gravel roads, which also make for terrific early morning or sunset jogs or walks. My whole being exhales "ahhhhh" in pure, tranquil delight...so much so, that I have already reserved multiple trips for this coming year, even though, the easy commute is 5.5 hours from Chattanooga. Well worth the journey. Every. Single. Time. This slice of heaven, has once again set the standard of what a great AirBnB stay should be, thanks to the wonderful hosts, Karen and Bill, who consistently make me feel like I have come "home." I am, without question, grateful.

  • This has to be one of the BEST Airbnb’s I have ever had the pleasure of staying in! Karen and Bill have made a unique, cozy and beautiful space to share and we will certainly be back.

  • If you need a peaceful and relaxing getaway with a unique touch, Dream Rock Silo is the place to go. Karen and Bill are excellent hosts. You can see how much hard work and love they have put into their place. We appreciated them sharing their beautiful home. They were always available, quick to respond and provide recommendations, if needed, but also gave us our privacy. The Creekside Bungalow was perfect for my husband and I. We enjoyed relaxing in the rocking chairs on the porch and listening to the water flowing through the creek. There were also great hiking trails with incredible views nearby that we enjoyed as well. We hope to return to Dream Rock again soon.

  • This is a beautiful place to stay nestled in the rolling mountains of rural Virginia. Perfect place to be close to nature but enjoy a comfortable place to stay. Karen and her partner are super friendly and have made a really lovely spot with their renovated barn. We arrived late but they thoughtfully left us fresh eggs from their chickens and bacon so we'd have breakfast the next morning. The cows grazing nextdoor and the well landscaped garden and creek make this a perfect place to relax. There's also a short hike one can do on the property. Independence is the local town (15 mins away) and had a fun farmers market we went to. Karen was up on all the local events and had helpful tips. They also had a firepit with smores going that evening which was really lovely. Hope to come back!

  • Kare is a great host! She made us feel at home and part of her extended family. The room is great, has everything that we need, even Wi-fi ;) My family hopes to get back there soon as we enjoyed a lot the time there.

Small cottage secluded on 31 private acres. 3 bedrooms (2 full beds; 2 twin beds). One bath with claw tub/shower. House built in 1929 by owner's grandfather. Comfortably furnished. Linens provided. Front porch and back deck. Playhouse for children.
Secluded, peaceful. Great place to stay for musicians interested in mountain music!
    Peaceful, quiet, safe.
  • Terrific hideaway for home base or quiet R&R. The house is amazing, full of wonders past into present. Enjoy the porch, the quiet, the breeze. Amelia is great with communication and the house is exactly (but better) as described. Great for solos or several.

  • For a girls road trip, this was a perfect little home away from home. A true gem in a small town with so much history, you have the entire place to yourself but are only minutes from practical amenities such as gas as food. We particularly enjoyed the privacy off the main road and saw chipmunks and deer each morning. Definitely an older place but that’s part of the charm of historic places. We would stay again if in the area!

  • The best

    Rick2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second stay at Granny's. It was the perfect home base as I explored the area and looked for a place I might buy as a permanent home. Tucked up and away from the road, you really get a sense of privacy - with the exception of the pond's occasional heron, a bald eagle flying overhead, or slow moving cows in the nearby pasture. Amelia was incredibly kind and helpful during our communications and interactions. Wi-Fi is good enough I could work remotely and end the day with the occasional Netflix binge. A truly special and lovely spot. Make sure to take a walk up the hill to get even more views of the rolling hills surrounding the area.

  • Great place. Our third visit and this time for 2 weeks.

    Cindy2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay here. I think we spent most of our time sitting on the front porch taking in the view, relaxing in the hammock, and enjoying the pond. Amelia went out of her way to make our stay wonderful!

    Lisa2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful house and land. A+ host! Could not ask for a better, more relaxing place! If you are looking for a peacfull mountain getaway, this is the spot. Lots of great hikes, trails and swimming near by too.

    Dan2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • As a person on the hunt for her own homestead, this place was 100% the type of place I aspire to one day have. The house is set far back from the road so you can’t see it, and passing cars can’t see you. The sound of cattle in the background and the occasional croak of a frog. A great porch to watch the clouds and appreciate the landscape. A field to walk in. And really good WiFi? I couldn’t have asked for anything more...I will say I had a very hard time finding the silverware but that’s because I’m a nincompoop (it’s very obviously on the kitchen table but I spent many minutes checking and re-checking drawers because I am silly).

  • We had an amazing time in the rooster room over New Years, the place is lovely with plenty of little extra touches that enhance your stay! Our 3 year old daughter was so happy to feed the chickens, play with the dogs and cats and just be out in the lovely garden. We really look forward to come back in spring!!

  • Dream Rock Silo is literally what dreams are made of! Karen went above and beyond to make everyone feel special and have a wonderful time. So many thoughtful touches throughout that were just for us. Everything all over the property has clearly been well thought out and just so unique and fun. We loved it and hope we can book again if she ever has any openings after the word gets out about this magical place!

  • I've stayed on a flower farm in Maui and an oceanfront villa in Jamaica. I've seen some incredible sights but NOTHING holds a candle to what my family and I experienced at Dream Rock Silo this past weekend. The location was perfect, the grounds were breathtaking and the accommodations were gorgeous (and so thoughtfully decorated!) but the real magic of this place lies in the family behind it. I've never felt more at home or welcomed than they made me feel. I could write a novel about this oasis, but words can't possibly do it justice. Do yourself a favor and discover this getaway for yourself!

    Courtney2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Karen is wonderful and the property is even more beautiful in person! The place was spotless! It was my friends birthday and Karen planned something special just as a thank you for staying with her. Everything was a hit and I would recommend this place to a friend. When people find out about this place, its likely they will stay completely booked and people will have to plan much further in advance than I did. Thanks again Karen and family!

    Debbie2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • The Dream Rock Silo is truly an amazing place inside and out. After reading the newly featured article in the local paper and getting the full tour of the place it really made us appreciate not only Bill and Karen as people but their story on how the place started and all the work they have put into it. Everywhere you look on the property you can tell they have busted their butts on making their dreams come alive. Their attention to details will really blow you away. The landscaping is beautiful with colorful flowers everywhere and the sound of the creek alone will make you feel so relaxed and welcomed. It took no time at all to know that we wanted to come back as soon as we could. If you are looking to stay at this masterpiece, don't hesitate to book any of the rooms because you will not regret it. It's a beautiful place with beautiful people who are masters at their crafts.

  • Linda's place was awesome, and we were incredibly comfortable after a long day of hiking. She had thought of everything for the space, it was so clean, and we took her suggestion for a local place to eat, which was fantastic.

  • Anne’s place is located in a beautiful camping ground with fire pit and surrounded by beautiful nature. I wish I was there to just chill and enjoy the place but I was busy with school and work. The cabin is drafty but as expected in a cabin. I love the soaps she makes. Anne is a gracious host.

    Rizalyn2019-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • Healing Springs is lovely and rustic, hidden nicely away in the woods, but still close to town(s). The budget cabins are adorable and much nicer than the pictures. The only negative is that the wall between the two cabins is so thin we could hear the folks next door snoring! But the age and history of the buildings are all part of the charm. Great getaway place!

    Lisa Marie2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • So much local history in the Healing Springs! The cabin we were in was perfect and the healing spring water was so refreshing. My only complaint is that we couldn't stay longer!

  • Perfect escape from a busy lifestyle, very clean, quaint cabins, that is perfect for a getaway! The sound of the stream at your front porch is so tranquil and relaxing. Definitely will be back!

  • We loved this place! The cabin was great!! Loved the healing spring and its history! Loved Annes homemade soaps and lotion! We ate a a little pizza joint in town called Pie on the Mountain. It was the best pizza I ever ate!

  • My husband and I absolutely loved our stay here. Beautifully updated cabins but still with a hint of rustic charm. The bed was so comfy and the spring water was delicious. So relaxing and serene. My husband and I loved waking to the sound of nature and the cows mooing from the farm next door. Such a beautiful spot tucked away in the mountains.

Our cottage is located walking distance to downtown Sparta. Our two bedroom house is equipped with all the comforts of home including sheets and towel (bath towels and beach towels). The kitchen is full size and includes a full refrigerator, stove, oven, and dishwasher. The house was built in 1944 and still includes many of the original details. The walls of the main living area are local pine and the doors still have the original glass door knobs.
Sparta is a wonderful small town full of character and charm. Downtown is filled with many shops and great places to eat. The town is always buzzing with things to do including Music on Main, street festivals, art and craft shows, and parades. We are located directly beside the Farmer’s Market which connects to Crouse Park. In the park is a huge playground, basketball court, and walking track. A beautiful mountain stream runs through the yard and is guaranteed entertainment for kids of any age.
  • Josh's place was wonderful! The location cannot be beat, the space was clean and comfortable and Josh was quick to answer any questions I had. We will be back!

    Amy2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • The house was exactly what we expected! It was very clean and very close to downtown. The beds were very comfortable and clean up was easy. We appreciate that there were towels, toiletries, and bedding provided!

  • This is the perfect place to stay in Sparta. The cottage is very comfortable, clean and welcoming and located close to downtown. Josh was very quick to respond, helpful with local recommendations and made our stay enjoyable.

    Diane2019-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • The storybook cottage is a wonderful home located in the heart of Sparta. The cottage was very clean and spacious for the entire family. The fenced in backyard is a great touch for kids or pets. Within walking distance to the Crouse Park, Farmers Market, and Main street that includes some great spots for coffee (Becca's backwoods bean) and dinner (Main Street Pizzeria & Taphouse was a favorite!!) . For about the same price as a room at the Allegheny Inn this is an exceptional value.

    Mark2019-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Hosts were quick to respond and made the check-in/out process very easy. The home was clean, centrally located, and had plenty of towels and cookery. This is an older house with the related quirks you might expect. I was there for business and hope to stay again next year!

    Melody2019-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived to the cottage after dark but it was easy to find. The cottage was a great fit for us we enjoyed s’mores by the fire pit. There was plenty of space for us to relax. We were traveling with 3 adults and 2 teenagers there was plenty of hot water for all of us to shower. There was a farmers market that was open Saturday morning beside the house.

We welcome longer term stays! Tucked away at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Tree House welcomes you to Healing Springs. Our Tree House is a "glamping" cabin tucked up in the trees along a babbling brook. The Healing Spring was discovered in 1884, come and drink the water!
Our Tree House is a camping cabin perched upon locust tree poles. This rustic retreat was built with reclaimed lumber from an local homestead that was over 100 years old! It does not have electricity or an en-suite bathroom. It has a plush Queen size bed and comes complete with sheets, pillows, blankets and bath towels. The Tree House Cabin is a true "glamping" experience. You have access to an indoor bathhouse located close by that features a sink, shower (hot water!) , and flush toilet. There is a chiminea fire place and Adirondack chairs set at the base of this cabin.
Located in the heart of Ashe County, and just 18 miles from Grayson Highlands State Park, close to everything that there is to see and do. Hike, bike, canoe, kayak, explore the quaint shops, drive down quiet country roads, our area has a lot to offer!
  • My husband, 4 yr. old daughter, and I stayed in Anne's Treehouse for the weekend. We LOVED every minute of it. The beds were cozy, the propane heater kept it very comfortable, and the surroundings couldn't be more beautiful. We hiked, explore West Jefferson and the Blue Ridge Parkway, fed the chickens and made s'mores. Anne has created something special in Crumpler and you should experience it for yourself!

    Laura2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay! The space is so incredibly charming and the warmth and hospitality were unmatched. Would stay here again and again. Highlights: chance to buy delicious local cheese and peach pepper jelly; creekside accommodation with calming sounds to match; personal chiminea with rocking Adirondack chairs for a perfect day’s end; deck to soak in the lovely pastoral views with coffee in hand; ultra comfy bed and abundant windows with tree cover that make the space so inviting. Again, 10 out of 10. Already trying to find a reason to return.

    Natalie2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, easy check in. Nice amenities to be a tree house, private fireplace with firewood already chopped, towels and homemade bar soap left in the room for use. Fresh eggs, soaps and meats for purchase from the farm in the store. And free spring water with a pitcher in your room to load up!

    Courtney2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great hospitality, beautiful location. Anne made sure everything we needed was prepared before our arrival and she was nothing but helpful the entire trip. 10/10 experience.

  • She is super sweet and an awesome host. The place was much better than we expected, and can't wait to go back.

    Sotirios2019-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • What a fun time to sit on the porch and be in the trees. Nice clean place with a rustic time gone by vibe with the tin roof ( loved hearing the rain hit it ) and the shiplap.

    Sarah2019-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing experience we had! This was the perfect spot for my husband and me. I just wish it didn't rain the whole time we were there because we never got to sit on the porch and enjoy the babbling creek and the fire pit. But the rain falling on the tin roof was so relaxing. Anne was a wonderful host and we look forward to going back.

    Lori2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great weekend here. The location was beautiful and quiet. The house was spacious with plenty of room for our party of 5 and our children loved running and playing in the yard. Was close to lots of great places to get outside and explore. Made for a very relaxing getaway.

    Carrie2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful peaceful location! Very clean! A wonderful hostess that makes you feel so welcome. She has thought of everything. Directions made it easy to find. Will definitely stay again & recommend to friends. Even more beautiful than the pictures. Awesome place to stay for kayaking. Close to several boat landings.

    Stacey2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • This pretty cabin had it all- simple country charm; every amenity you would expect to see at home; comfortable beds; a lovely view of the countryside with its rolling hills; and enough wildlife to keep you entertained for hours. Located on the New River, we were lulled by the sound of the river as it flowed nearby. While not isolated, the property was quiet and relaxing. Eclectic restaurants were easily within a reasonable drive. If you like the outdoors, canoeing, kayaking, or fishing you are within an easy drive of three state parks, Grayson Highlands State Park, New River Trail State Park, and a short drive south, in North Carolina, Mount Jefferson State Park. Danielle provided good information for the surrounding area. Would I stay here again? YES, YES and YES!!!

    Debbye D2019-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • This place was very quiet and relaxing for us. We stayed two nights and took in a concert at the Blue Ridge Mountain Center. I would easily stay here again.

Relax on the New River in the renovated hayloft of a horse barn -- perfect for a peaceful country getaway. Located at the end of a winding rural road, this apartment is on a working cattle farm with 3/4 mile frontage along the New River. Hike, fish, canoe, or just watch the hawks, deer, geese, and turkey.
As mentioned, our "River View Getaway" apartment is actually a renovated hayloft above an old horse barn. Although there are no horses currently in residence, the property is located on a 94 acre working cattle farm. (No animals will be stored in the barn during your stay, but you may see cattle in the fenced off paddocks.) Enjoy sitting on the rocking chair porch overlooking the fields and New River. You may spot some of the local wildlife including white tailed deer, canadian geese, or wild turkey. Although not commonly seen, black bears, coyote, and foxes may also live in the area. Inside the barn loft apartment, you will find all the comforts of home including an open living area with leather sofa (which pulls out to queen sized bed), dining area, and kitchen. The full sized bathroom is off the hallway. The rear of the apartment contains a large bedroom with skylight and King sized bed. All linens are of course laundered between each stay including the Duvet covers. (So no dirty bedspreads or blankets!) We will provide toilet paper, papertowels, trash bags, dishsoap, and travel-sized bathroom toiletries, however for long stays you will be responsible for additional supplies. There are large flat screen televisions in both the living room and bedroom. We provide Dish Network satellite TV with all the network stations as well as HBO, Showtime, Cinemax, Starz, and many more. High speed gaming/streaming internet is unfortunately NOT available in this area. However we provide a Verizon Hotspot for internet access so you can check your email and research information. It should be noted that this property is located at the end of a long winding country road, which becomes a one lane gravel road near the end. There are 19 steps up to the front door. A number code on the front door allows for self check-in.
The town of Fries (pronounced "freeze") is about 10 minutes away, along with two nearby access points for the New River Trail. The New River Trail State Park is a linear park running 57 miles including 39 miles that parallels the scenic and historic New River along what had previously been a railroad track. The trail is relatively flat and includes trestle bridges, tunnels, small waterfalls, and other beautiful woodland scenery enjoyable to hikers, bikers, and horseback riders of all ages. About 12 minutes away, across from one of the more scenic New River Trail access points, you will find "New River Outdoor Adventures." This is a local company that provides shuttle services and rentals for canoes, kayaks, tubes, biking, fishing, etc. They also sell live bait and tackle for all your fishing needs, as well as fishing and hunting licenses (either short or long term). If you call (276)237-TUBE(8823) they will customize whatever adventure you might want for your group, including pick up at the farm, (which is known locally as the Delp's Beach farm.) The city of Galax is about a 15-20 minute drive. Within Galax, you can find many restaurants, antique stores, a quaint walkable downtown area, a small movie theater, and of course Super Wal-Mart, among other amenities. Galax also happens to be home to the largest and oldest running Old Time Bluegrass Fiddler’s Convention, which takes place annually in August since 1935. But don't worry, the entire Appalachian region is known for Bluegrass and traditional "old-timey" music which can be enjoyed year-round. The Rex Theater in Galax hosts weekly live music and other special events. The Fries theater in Fries also hosts live music events. The wonderful Blue Ridge Music Center can be found on the Blue Ridge Parkway at Milepost 213. This facility includes a large outdoor amphitheater with summer concert series, an award winning music museum of old-time music, and DAILY display of free music from local musicians. Access to the Blue Ridge Parkway is only 14 miles away, or about a 25 minute drive. The Blue Ridge Parkway runs 469 miles through Virginia and North Carolina and is one of the most visited properties of the National Park System. The Parkway offers something for everyone including scenic drives, mountain views, biking/hiking/equestrian trails, waterfalls and swimming holes, historic farmsteads and museums, cultural exhibits, and much more.
  • Our stay at the barn was great. It was nicer than we expected. Very private. We didn’t see one person while we were there, which we loved😊 We were giving detailed directions and found it very easily in the dark which is good given its remote location. Would definitely go again!

  • Our recent stay at Joan's River View Getaway was our first trip using Airbnb. Joan is a fantastic host and made our first stay a truly effortless experience. Her place is amazing and she made the whole process a delight. Check-in/out was super easy. Joan provided us with very clear and concise driving directions, as well as great directions for entering/exiting the property. This little gem of a place is perfect if you're looking for a quiet, relaxing, peaceful, opportunity to re-charge your batteries. Joan's place is very clean, neat, and tidy. The property is nicely secluded, yet you're only minutes from town should you need supplies, or if you're looking for activities. My husband and I enjoyed watching the little bit of snow that fell, the birds roosting in the tree near the porch, and the beautiful stars on the clear nights. The New River is just a very small walk away for the house so it would be great for those warmer months of the year! All-in-all we were extremely pleased with River View Getaway and we hope to stay again in the future.

    Angela2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Joan was quick to respond to our reservation and a needed change of date. The place was perfect for a child-free getaway, though kids might enjoy all the space to play outdoors. Loved walking along the river and in the field. Bed and pillows were super-comfortable. A fun selection of family games was provided as well. We'd love to return!

    Donna2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful stay. As secluded and peaceful as it gets! The place was very clean and the hosts were very friendly and provided great communication. Would definitely stay here again.

We welcome longer term stays! At the base of the Blue Ridge mountains located near hiking trails, and a variety of outdoor activities like biking, kayaking & canoeing, this secluded retreat offers a quiet place to rest. Drink from the Healing Spring discovered in 1883.
Locally groundhogs (or woodchucks) are frequently called "Whistle Pigs". Our rustic Whistle Pig Cabin is a great space for the budget conscious traveler. A plush full size bed in this cabin tucked up into the woods near a little creek makes for a great nights sleep! Adirondack chairs along a babbling brook with a charcoal BBQ are next to the cabin. Please note this is a "rustic" cabin and does not have a private bathroom, guests utilize the shared bathroom with shower in our Lodge building. This camping cabin does have electricity, a mini-fridge, coffee pot and ceiling fan. Bed and bath linens are provided! This cabin also has heat for the cooler months.

  • Anne was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING and we truly did ENJOY our stay in the cottage. We loved how she raises her animals and just to see free-range chickens and hear mooing cows and tweeting birds did our hearts glad. The food is incredible. Anne's customer service was pristine, and her property is incredible...a living picture. You get beautiful views of the mountains and can walk her property which is also mountainous. Thank you Anne also for allowing us to drink from the healing springs....soooo refreshing. Thank you!!!!! The Miles crew

  • We stayed in whistle-pig cabin, a small space, perfect for an overnight/weekender stay. Cozy and true to mountain-spirit, Anne’s cabins are furnished with Appalachian artwork and rustic barn-feel touches. The handmade soaps are great - we bought a bar of the “happy” scent. Would recommend!

    Taylor2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • beautiful cabin. incredible location. perfect for a quiet peaceful escape.

    Will2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • This airbnb is a quaint little spot perfect for if your traveling and would like a bed to sleep in for the night! They have soaps and fresh meat and eggs available in the common area that is all sourced from the farm on the property which is an awesome touch! (Plus the soap smells great). Anne was very friendly and was available when we contacted her :)

    Kaelyn2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Anne’s place was just as described, and a great value! She was even thoughtful enough to read my mind and set the key out so I could check in late. If rustic and minimalist are your thing, this place is the perfect fit.

    Kelsey2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed in the Whistle Pig cabin with my boyfriend and we had a great trip! The cabin feels private while still being just a short walk from the lodge bathroom. With the ceiling fan plus open windows it was a nice temperature. The space was very clean and comfortable, and checking in/out couldn’t have been easier. We chose this cabin because it was the one in our budget, but for people wanting more space there were many other cabins on property that also looked nice!

    Emma2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Whistle Pig Cabin was exactly what I was looking for in a secluded getaway. The cabin was cute, clean, and comfortable. It is an affordable, no-frills option for anyone who needs a restful escape. Anne was friendly and helpful. There is no private restroom, but the clean shared restroom is just a short walk over to the lodge. My dog loved morning and evening strolls around the property and all of the friendly petting she got. The area is beautiful and close enough to some wonderful hiking spots to make a great base for some nice day trips. I will definitely be considering Anne's cabins for future getaways.

    Evette2019-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • I can’t comment specifically about this cabin listed because my boyfriend and i were lucky enough to get a free upgrade from Anne! I cannot thank her enough, it was a beautiful place and beautiful area and we will be back for sure :-)

  • Second stay at the falls house. A spa-like retreat that must be experienced. Cozy, amazing accommodations. Caroline is a gracious host & very easy to communicate with!

    Christina2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place is truly paradise! The waterfall in the back is absolutely stunning & an amazing sight to look at. We literally sat in the chair looking out at the waterfall for hours and the sound of it is so relaxing! Definitely secluded, no cell service & no tv but it was absolutely perfect for us. Best weekend we have ever had and the most relaxing!! We will most definitely go back and suggest everyone to check this place out!

    Jessica2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This space is pure magic. The quiet, the beauty of the waterfall, the deer that visit the yard are so special. Caroline has decorated the home in such a stylish but comfortable way. This is a great place for a romantic get away or even a solo trip for someone wanting peaceful solitude. We can't say enough good things about it. There are restaurants near by but we cooked simple meals in the kitchen and never left.

  • Wish I didn’t have to leave lol pictures didn’t do the views any justice something that can only be mentally captured. But highly suggest too try & capture it all. I love this secret hiding spot very peaceful will definitely be returning in the spring. Caught some snow so I couldn’t really enjoy the outdoors like I wanted too but the house was more than enough fun wasn’t bored not once even without any service. - p.s.: caught pretty good service in Wytheville about 40mins away from the home.

Nestled in a high mountain meadow just above the New River, this 750 square foot cabin has plenty of amenities and nearly 20 acres for your own private Idaho...there are marked and cleared hiking trails...look for the entrance post to the left "1285"
Cozy and quiet...the New River is just over the ridge. Two full-sized (not King or Queen) beds and one twin (plus a twin pallet)
During the height of the season there are campers, tubers and canoers all along the river...everyone enjoying being outside! We are located 2.3 miles (7 minutes drive) from two canoe outfitters!!! (See below in Getting Around) And not too far from the best of Ashe County (south) or Grayson Highlands State Park in VA (north and west of us).
  • Peaceful remote getaway and everything it's advertised to be. It's best to bring all your provisions and plan on quality time with your significant other. All wheel drive preferred on long driveway. Not sure a Prius would make it especially in bad weather. Plenty of wildlife around and stars are spectacular on a clear night. Highly recommend.

  • Nice hideaway, good for a quiet retreat.

    Eric2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful property to roam and hike. The dogs loved the freedom and open spaces. The cabin is warm with basic essentials.

    Lisa2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing property and views. Little bit of a drive to get into town or to stores but the views make up for it. Definitely a nice place to go and stay if you need to get away from everything for a little and relax. A lot of exploring on the the property if you don’t want to go out for the day. My family had a blast here and would stay again.

    Brianna2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Had an outstanding time exploring the land and the wood stove at night was magical! All the dogs loved it!!! Had plenty of split up fire wood. Very cozy little cabin in the middle of nowhere. Exactly what we needed for a short family getaway before Christmas. Can’t wait to go back ASAP

    Jade2019-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • This is such a great little getaway! Bigger than expected and all the comforts of home. The little wood stove was a MIGHTY force! Kept us nice and toasty! Very nice not having to bring your own wood for indoor or outdoor fires! Great place to relax. Wild turkeys and deer all over. Scott was easy to reach when we had a question. Definitely a “do-again”! Thank you Scott.

  • A Handy Place to Stay was perfect for our weekend getaway. It’s in a lovely place in the country. Our favorite was sitting outside by the fire with the sounds of the creek in the background. It was so relaxing. Amy’s place was clean and had everything we needed, including a decent pan to fry an egg in, which is appreciated! A nice quiet stay, close to Grayson Highlights and outdoor fun. We plan to go back and stay again.

Amy was quick to respond to our questions and has plenty of suggestions of things to do around the area. We will definitely be back to this gem of a place.

This quaint, warm cabin in scenic, serene Elk Creek is located on the mountain up a gravel road on 5 wooded acres. The area is loaded with wild turkey and deer, and the occasional bear. This is the perfect getaway for nature lovers, hikers, hunters, fishers, bluegrass music enthusiasts, or anyone simply looking to disconnect from technology and the busyness of life. Roast marshmallows in the fire pit, grill out on our charcoal grill, rock on the front porch, or fish just 1 mile from the cabin.
This cabin is very special to my family. It was built by my papa and several others in our family. We have shared many fond memories here and hope you will too. Our cabin is a rustic getaway for those seeking adventure, privacy, and peace. There is little to no cell reception, unless in town. We also do not have wifi or cable. This is a place to connect with loved ones instead of technology. We do have a tv and a dvd collection, and games! We recently had tree work done, a new roof installed, new back steps, and had some wood rot repaired. Exterior paint is coming soon!
The cabin is located up a winding gravel mountain road full of beautiful scenery near the historic site where Caty Sage was said to have been kidnapped. The road is bumpy, but doesn't require 4 wheel drive. You DO need 4 wheel drive if visiting while snow is on the ground. Our cabin is a rustic getaway for those seeking adventure, privacy, and peace.
  • Everything was exactly as stated in all the details about the cabin. My family and I were very happy with our stay. I recommend this cabin if you are seriously looking for relaxation, peace and quiet!

    Todd2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful cabin to relax and enjoy some relaxing time. The cabin had 2 full bedrooms, one bath and space for 6 to stay. The property is large, and the house includes a front and back (screened in) porch. There is also a fire pit behind the house. The kitchen has full appliances to cook if you choose to do so. The house has a TV with a DVD player and nothing more. It’s what you should do on a nice trip such as this: disconnect, relax, and have no use for WiFi of cell service. Communication was great, quick, and thorough. Would highly recommend to anybody looking for a relaxing weekend. Hikes and outdoor walks are available in driving distance.

    Craig2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was an excellent place to stay and we look forward to staying again ASAP.

  • Great place to visit for the weekend. Very relaxing, calm and quiet. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit, and the cabin was very clean. Kayla made our rental process and stay very simple and enjoyable.

    Nick2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Secluded cabin in the beautiful mountains! We saw deer, lovely sunsets, and wild turkeys! We loved grilling out and then relaxing by the campfire. Kayla provides many brochures of local attractions and this was so helpful for us to enjoy our impromptu “hurrication” as we fled from Hurricane Dorian. We would definitely recommend this cabin to those looking for peace and quiet and/or quality time with loved ones.

    Felicia2019-09-08T00:00:00Z

We welcome longer term stays! This charming cottage was originally a Dairy House back in the early 1900's. We have converted it to a cozy 2 bedroom getaway, perfect for folks who want to "unplug" and relax! Located within walking distance to the south fork of the New River, this cottage offers privacy with easy access to the river.
The Dairy House has two small bedrooms, one with a pillowtop full size bed, the other with a twin bed. A roomy living room, rustic bathroom with shower and eat in kitchen make this a great retreat option. The Diary House has a full kitchen and WiFi.
The Dairy House is located just 1/10th of a mile from the south fork of the New River. You can walk to the public access point and fish, canoe, kayak or tube. Riverside Canoe and RiverCamp are right there to rent you what you need to float or paddle down the river.
  • The Cabins at Healing Springs are amazing! Anne is an incredible host and the cabins are spectacular. Truly a magical place!

  • This is a very nice bungalow, not for the "tall" . Pictures do not do justice to the unique and personal style. Extremely clean! More room than I expected. Bathroom - Hot water with good pressure. Lots of blankets along with electric F/P heater to stay warm while sleeping, works great. Extremely clean.

    Cynthia2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a simple, homey private spot with basic accommodations, Iboya’s space could be for you. Mostly, if you want to meet some incredibly kind and very welcoming people, this could be for you. Last, but not least, if you want to stay with someone who is well thought of in the charming town of Sparta, this could be for you! If you are looking for luxury or elegant appointments, this may not be your place. Thank you for a special stay, Iboya!

We loved this house so much we decided to stay an extra day and I think that says enough! Zach was very helpful and quick to respond. I would definitely stay here again!

    Emma2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • The space is lovely for a weekend off the grid. I finally got to unplug and unwind. I would definitely come back and stay again. There was a small issue my first day, but Zach had someone over to check it out in 2 hours. Everything worked out and Zach was a great host.

  • Our weekend at The Peach Bottom Lodge was perfect. The cabin is lovely and was even nicer than we expected. It's remote location is incredibly beautiful and peaceful, we felt recharged after our relaxing stay. The open floor plan made for a wonderful place for everyone to spend time together. The patio and hot tub were also enjoyed . A sweet and thoughtful touch - they left us a s'mores platter to use with the fire pit :) Needless to say, our kids were very happy as well.

    Emily2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely beautiful cabin in a nice, private setting. We saw lots of deer while we were staying there, and we were able to have a nice campfire while looking at the stars as well. The cabin was very clean and very nicely decorated, and had everything we possibly could have needed, including a nice selection of tools for the kitchen as well as games to play with the family. We stayed with our two young boys, but there is plenty of space on different floors and 3.5 bathrooms, so there would have been room to share with more adults or another family as well. We had to book last minute because of a family emergency, and the host was super understanding and very quick to respond. I would highly recommend this cabin and we hope to stay here again. Thanks again!!

Beautiful, rustic glamping site with gorgeous views! Come experience nature on our 54 acre property... cool mountain breezes, gorgeous sunsets, twinkling fireflies. Sleep peacefully to the sounds of nature in the screened in bedroom. Our glamping site includes a bedroom with full bed, stocked kitchen, open air shower (with hot water!), toilet incinerator, fire pit, and gas grill. We have 0.4 mi of Helton Creek frontage. **Before booking, please be aware of cooler nights in fall!**
Additional tent campers are welcome for a nominal fee; please contact us to confirm.
  • Book it!! This was a very unique stay. You get all the best parts of camping plus an outdoor shower and a toilet. We went in October and it got down to 33 degrees at night, which we loved with a few extra sleeping bags. However if the cold is not for you, you might want to book earlier in the season. The stars are amazing at night!

    Jill2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Breathtaking views and a warm comfy bed. Bring extra blankets for chilly nights. Everything you need is there. April responds very quickly to any questions. Amazing place to stay.

    Allison2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Has so many amenities for being a “glamping” site! There was electric, cooking stoves, running hot water, a nice bed, etc. There is complete privacy and beautiful surroundings. Would definitely like to go again.

    Lauren2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Glamping at its best! Just enough glamp and just enough camp, we had a great time. My daughter and I had a so much fun together from great food to hair masks and nail polish after a day of hiking in Grayson Highlands St Park. The view of the sunset as we ate dinner was spectacular. Then the stars. Oh the stars. We hope to come back!

    Anna2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • I was looking for a quiet, secluded, beautiful, comfortable getaway for my boyfriend and I and that exactly what I got! We arrived without a hitch thanks to an AWD CRV and detailed directions from the host, April. Four/awd definitely needed. When we got to the glamping site - wow! I could seriously, almost, live there. It has everything you need, minus your own food and drink: a full size bed, wrapped in waterproof fabric, and fresh linens. Can't attest to the towels bc we didn't use them, but they were there. Fully stocked kitchen. We came at the end of September and extra blankets were mentioned by April and needed. THE VIEWS To be able to cook a meal with that view- especially the sunsets for dinner and foggy mornings for coffee and pancakes, is incredible. Someone mentioned bringing a small tarp to cover the entrance from setting sun and I agree. You can also enjoy a hot outdoor while watching the views. So- bring some food and drink, games and puzzles, and some chairs and you are in for a weekend retreat without another soul to be seen. There's nothing to do but enjoy the company of the one you're with, along with the above, so bring the right person. We will definitely be back!

    Lauren2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • For people who love camping, and the comforts of home, this is the best of both worlds. Amazing night sky views from the campfire and from the bed! No light pollution, no noise pollution, no air pollution. Absolutely private natural setting. A lot of thought went into the amenities, every thing you will need is there. The bed was one of the most comfortable we have ever slept on, especially when "camping". Add the hot shower, enclosed toilet facilities and a sink with running water, who could ask for more. As for access, our Forester had no problem, but the climb is definitely not for a low riding vehicle. Also a small tarp to hang over the entrance way to block the afternoon sun might be worth bringing.

    Muskie2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place is great! Nice views, great amenities at the cabin, comfy bed. April was great and super responsive when we had a question.

    Scott2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • A nice retreat in nature. You can hear the bugs, birds, and even the rain on the roof. You have everything you need to enjoy nights out in nature but with convenient amenities.

  • Big beautiful cabin! It’s a good location, it was exceptionally clean, well stocked with anything you could need (plenty of towels, blankets, sheets, extra space heaters, kitchen had every pot, pan or utensil you could possibly need), great price, super fast communication, and the directions for everything were clear and concise and easy to follow. This was my first time with Air BnB, and I will definitely use it again. All other property owners have a lot keep keep up with, as Juan has set the bar exceptionally high!

  • If you are looking for a secluded getaway with breathtaking views, then this is the place for you. Despite being remote it offers all of the amenities one could possibly want. Fast internet, central air and heat, large televisions and even a basketball court. The chalet was very clean when we arrived, and everything inside is modernized. Juan was always available to answer any questions we had, and I can only hope other hosts can meet his standards. I highly recommend taking a drive to Damascus, about an hour away, and renting a bike to ride off of Whitetop. We can't wait to come back next year, and I would encourage anyone to book this beautiful chalet!

We live in South Fl and decided to own a second home in the Mountains. I went to school in small town of Toccoa Falls, at the foothills of smokey mountains. I guess you might say I got used to small town living and being close to nature. I love the 4 seasons where Fl has only 1 is awfully humid in the summer. The Fall is absolutely spectacular With mild winters. You can see snow every once and a while. Not like up North. Ski resorts nearby. Best months to see snow is Jan Abd Feb. Fall colors in late October.
  • Perfect place for a weekend getaway. Great hiking in close proximity. Very accommodating to us and our dog, loved the place!

  • Lovely cabin, quiet neighborhood, super clean and comfortable!

  • This place is remote, quiet and very relaxing. It's a pretty large space, the wrap around porch is great and the views were gorgeous. Definitely shop before you arrive as it is quite a distance from the nearest store. This place was a great value and we will definitely stay here again in the future.

  • This cabin was clean, had a great mountain view from living room and we loved the open floor plan. We were able to use our personal pass code for Netflix and loved the quiet gated community. The hill views to get to Grayson Highlands State Park from this cabin were beautiful. Loved seeing the New River not too far way from cabin. We recommend this cabin to anyone.

  • What a gorgeous location! Off the path but close enough to visit many places. Accommodations very clean. Had a great time.

  • Nestled in a quiet cabin community in the beautiful North Carolina mountains, My Little Cabin was a wonderful retreat from the noise and hustle and bustle of the city. No need to bring your own water... The spring water from the tap is cold, delicious, and better than anything out of a bottle. The wraparound porch is a true wraparound, and we spent most of our time sitting on the back porch, enjoying the gorgeous view of the valley directly below, and of the mountains as far as the eye could see. The area is heavily wooded and would be a festival of color during the early fall. We were there over Thanksgiving and the leaves had already fallen. There is a beautiful river that is a short drive or long walk away and it if you like to fish, it would be ideal. Even though you'll be in the mountains, you'll have the best Verizon signal you've ever had! But the cabin offers free WiFi and satellite TV, so you probably won't need your phone for much. In reality, there is so much peace and tranquility that you might not even want them. If you can, bring all the food you'll want for your trip with you. The kitchen is nicely appointed, including a full sized refrigerator, stove and oven, microwave and a coffee pot. There's even a toaster. You can go into town if you want to, but it's about a half hour trip through very steep and winding roads. The scenery is beautiful though, so it's a very enjoyable trip. We much preferred spending time in and around the cabin. We took our dogs with us and they absolutely loved the area. We really enjoyed our time at the cabin and would happily rent it again.

  • Maria’s place lives up to its wonderfully cozy description- an excellent mountain getaway with comfy beds and close proximity to West Jefferson! Driveway is a little tough in the rain/mud- but very worth it. Would recommend!

This pet friendly cabin boasts 1 bedroom with a queen size bed (new mattress) and a loft with 2 single beds. Enjoy the amenities of a full kitchen, bathroom, excellent wifi. This cabin overlooks the peaceful woods and the 54 acre property has 0.4 miles of Helton Creek frontage, which boasts the best trout fishing in North Carolina! **This cabin is up a steep gravel road. All wheel or 4 wheel drive is required. However, a 4 wheel drive vehicle is available for guest use.
Beautiful, mountain retreat. The fresh air and bubbling creek are hard to beat!
  • Nice spot for a mountain getaway, short drive from great fishing spots.

  • We love this cabin!

    Michael2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great piece of property. The road leading in goes along the stream for a few miles and easy access to fishing holes if you plan to. Convenient to Lansing, Jefferson and Grayson Highlands. Definitely plan to use the provided 4x4 if you do not have your own. Driveway is for sure a mountain. Loved it!

    Thomas2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, private cabin. The host isn’t kidding when she said you need a 4WD vehicle to get to the cabin; we wouldn’t have made it to the top without our Jeep. Super clean and warm considering it was extremely cold the entire trip. Hot tub and gas fireplace were a nice touch. Looking forward to returning soon!

    Katie2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great time here! Clean, cozy, and quite cabin. Perfect getaway!

    Jack2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay if you're looking for quiet and a trip to Grayson Highlands. Highly recommend State Line Deli for hamburgers!

    Billy2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful and rustic cabin tucked away in the woods. We were delighted by the lack of mosquitoes on the porch outside and took advantage of the cool morning air to enjoy a cup of coffee. The driveway is definitely steep but as the description says, manageable with 4x4. If you’re a caffeine fiend make sure to bring some coffee, there is a pot available in the kitchen. This place is located conveniently to Grayson highlands, a short 25 minute drive on pretty country roads with unanticipated and beautiful views. I’d recommend bringing some groceries and taking advantage of the kitchen available given the pizza place nearby was impossibly busy (1.5 hour wait at 4:30 on a Saturday- busy) so we ended up making food at home. The hot tub is a nice amenity as well and is tucked away in a private corner of the deck so although there is a neighboring cabin close by, you can enjoy the hot tub without feeling too close. You can walk down to the nearby creek as well. There are plenty of books and games in this cabin and it would be an ideal spot to get away with kids. My husband and I enjoyed the area with our dogs and were able to hike down through the woods to the road and the creek. Definitely check out boondocks brewery in nearby west Jefferson, it has some tasty food as well in addition to many non-beer beverage options if you want to grab a bite out to eat. There are AC units in the bedroom and upstairs loft and a screened door leading to the porch from the bedroom which was peaceful to open. Definitely check this place out with your furry friends.

    Dominique2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • April's cabin is absolutely splendid! A dreamy getaway tucked away in the woods with a view of the blue ridge in the distance. Myself and three of my closest friends booked this place for our annual reunion and we couldn't have been happier. The beds were super comfy with AC units and fans in both bedrooms. The hot tub was clean, hot and ready to go upon arrival! Our favorite activity at the cabin was rocking in the rocking chairs on the porch while surrounded by the trees listening to the birds while sipping our coffee. So rejuvenating! The location is perfect for those looking to explore the mountainous landscape this cabin is nestled in. We had so much fun on the New River and exploring the Grayson Highlands, which was only a short 20 minute drive from the cabin. At this time of year we enjoyed walking along the trails near the cabin to discover wild blackberries, elderberries and take in all the beautiful and numerous wildflowers surrounding the place. This cabin was made for anyone who loves the outdoors and that crisp mountain air! The only thing that has us slightly weary was the drive up to the cabin. Thankfully one of us had experience driving farm trucks up similar drives, and April was super gracious by offering us a 4wd truck to use throughout our stay to get up and down it. We made it just fine, but just wanted to mention that it is very steep and not for the faint of heart. :) This was hands down one of our most favorite places to reunite and we hope to be back someday! I highly recommend April's cabin!

  • Excellent getaway cabin! The area is peaceful and relaxing as you sit on the porch or river swing. Having everything readily available and on hand makes it very easy to not have to leave. Highly recommend for quiet vacation in the mountains.

    Chris2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was lovely, property is secluded feeling which was just what I wanted. The star gazing was lovely. Cabin was equipped with extra camp chairs to sit out by the fire or on the cover porch or gazebo. It was perfect for a birthday getaway for myself and boyfriend. We enjoyed our time together and the cabin was a sweet space to celebrate and enjoy nature. I did fly-fish and didn’t catch or see trout this time of year but the scenery was beautiful and I’m nearly as happy walking the stream and enjoying the scenery as when I’m catching fish. The heaters were plenty sufficient to warm the place while lows were upper 20’s at night during our stay. I would stay here again. Marc was quick to answer messages with questions as I was trip planning.

    Samantha 2019-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • Wow. Absolutely wow. I’d give one star for accuracy if only because this stay was sooo much better than expected. So secluded and quiet, but extremely well appointed and comfortable. We couldn’t tell from the listing but there is a covered pavilion with a porch swing down by the river! Amazing. The cottage is very new and everything is clean. Would definitely recommend this stay again.

    Brock2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • This stylish cabin is just as photographed. We enjoyed the contemporary interior and location near the babbling brook.

    Liz2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • This little cabin was perfect for my husband and I! We came up for our anniversary weekend and loved the seclusion this place offered, all while being just 10 minutes from downtown. Just a heads up, the driveway is a bit steep and gravel so unless you get some good momentum before starting up it it may cause you to spin wheels. The bed was comfortable and the walk to the river was short. Love the swing down by the river to sit and relax!
