After accepting our reservation, Linda found she needed to be away, but honored the reservation and allowed us to spend the requested evenings in her home. The house was very nice, well-kept but I am glad it still felt like a home rather than a motel. Linda was very accommodating, more than willing to help out with recommendations and advice. I came with my nephew and we were able to go swimming in the nearby Lake Chemung 4 times in 2.5 days. Location is convenient to many stores and restaurants. If you have older kids 12-16 this is a great place because of the frog pond, nearby recreational areas and even various field guides she has around the house, plus the proximity to the lake. We had a wonderful time. Great for nature lovers!

Linda is a great host! Low key residence in a quiet neighborhood. Her place is clean and the dog is absolutely tame. A scenic part of the country with many opportunities to go hiking and being outdoors. No complaints to register just be respectful.

The location was just as good as described plus some. For example, almost right when you walk out the door is a beautiful scenic lake (with a swimming area) Additionally, her house is close to everywhere I needed to go such as Ann Arbor. (which is about 20 mins away) and Detroit. Linda herself was a gracious host and she made an effort to make sure everything was perfect. I would recommend her listing for anybody who wants to experience Ann Arbor and the surrounding area at its best!

Our host was very easy to get a hold of, very nice and made us feel right at home. The room was very nice, neat, and clean. She had nice towels, shampoo, soap in the bathroom. She gave us a run down of what restaurants where in the area, along with directions. We enjoyed the convenience to town and the ease getting to our locations the next day. This place is incredible! What a fantastic find! The location can't be beat - if a water view and direct lake access weren't enough, they threw a cherry on top by adding kayaks and paddleboards for guest use. The house itself was perfection as well. It's new and spacious and well furnished - it had everything we needed and had a nice cozy, home-y feel to it. We were able to make full use of the kitchen and the grill on the porch. And we loved the extra touch of having a coffee maker already stocked with coffee pods! Dave was so helpful with anything we needed and responded quickly, even checking in to see if we needed anything. This Airbnb is one of the best finds I've ever come across. This house was gorgeous and spotless! The open living room, dining room, kitchen area very comfortably accommodated our large group. The hosts were very accommodating when we needed extra time to check out due to illness. Only minor annoyances- no tea kettle, no regular coffee maker that allowed to make a full pot of coffee and squeaky bedroom/bathroom doors. Perhaps foam on sofa beds would add to comfort. Beautiful lake, beautiful home and wonderful stay! We highly recommend it.

We had a great stay at Susan's cottage. The house and property were really nice and peaceful, and Susan was friendly and very helpful (and made some terrific homemade salsa for us). It's the perfect place for weekend away, or in our case, a weekend UM reunion. Not far from Ann Arbor, but worth the drive for the beautiful setting.

We had a great holiday at Susan's place. The cottage had everything we needed and being just 15 minutes from Brighton, the location was a perfect mix of nature and small town. The kids loved the cottage, massive lawn and the lake. We'd definitely go back again next time we're in Michigan.

Cottage is conveniently located just 10-15 minutes away from Meijer. Water is safe to drink but depending on what you're used to, we opted for a giant jug of water just for taste preference so if you're getting groceries on the way, you may want to grab one. Property was spacious and neighbours were far enough away that it never felt like we could disturb them.

Susan was great! She explained things very well. House was great, yard was great! We thought the "beach" was a little lacking. No sand outside of the water. But the lake is beautiful and quiet. The people that we did see were friendly. The town is cute and nice and had everything we needed.

Our host, Susan made us feel more than welcomed! She greeted us at her beautiful home with a tour and answered any questions while we were there. She had a beyond nice gesture of giving us chips and salsa to munch on as we unpacked. She is so organized and has just about everything you need for your fun stay. We felt at home , a very relaxed atmosphere. We enjoyed reading some of your many interesting books too! We went grocery shopping at a local Meijer's 10 minutes away. My three boys and their families with my husband and I under one large roof was the ultimate memorable vacation for us. The large spacious yard for many activities, the bonfires at night, the just the right size lake with two row boats, a paddle boat, and the two man kayak were a highlight for us. We did tie together the last night and floated telling stories of the past while the sun was setting. We got a lot of great memorable pictures! Man... This place was a dream. It was not only a blast exploring the house but also the area around it! I would recommend this place to my pickiest of relatives because it's so freakin awesome!

The place looked better in person than in pictures. My family had a great time exploring the area and loved having the chance to kayak for the first time. As a person who lives right outside of Washington DC, what made the listing great was the peaceful surroundings and great view of the lake.

I was able to contact him to find the GPS address, so that made it simple for us and our son and his family to arrive. He also contacted me about the completion of roadwork, so that also was a plus. The neighborhood was very friendly and it was a great place to stay and relax. It was very clean, and we really enjoyed ourselves.

Drew was very responsive with communications before and after the stay. Was very nice about offering use of the kitchen and all the accessories. He even made shelf space for my cooking ingredients. The place is beautiful and she makes sure that everything u might need is there, from a "Welcome to the lake sign" to snow shoes and skies if u come in the winter or a kanoe and a fishing pole in the in summer which makes ur stay more enjoyable and amazing. We had such a cozy experience. The weather was cold and snowy, so the fireplace and blankets made staying in wonderful! And the books on birds came in handy - we saw so many birds on the lake and on our hike. Thank you for all the amenities.

Everything was great. The cabin only had a 1/4 roll of toilet paper stocked, but Debi very quickly had someone come and restock for us. Was exactly what we hoped for.

Our hosts, Marla and Larry, welcomed us with a delicious cocktail and hor d'oeuvres. They showed us the beautiful accommodations and emphasized, over and over, that we should ask for anything we needed. To say that this property is exquisite is an understatement. The Lodge is incredible and beautifully appointed. Everything is top notch from the bathrooms and fixtures to the artwork and furnishings. I am not sure I would share such things with a group of strangers, but I am sure glad they did. We had asked if they had a grill we could use and not only did they provide us with this but also all of the supplies we needed including charcoal, plates and eating utensils. They also set up an outside covered sitting area with mosquito netting that allowed us to sit outside and enjoy the natural beauty of their property. They made us feel welcome by introducing themselves and telling us about their backgrounds and really trying to get to know each and every one of us. And they seemingly were able to remember all of the names in our group immediately. Lastly and most importantly, Marla and Larry are a really special couple. Larry is a terrific cook and we enjoyed his breakfast and homemade bread and Marla's homemade yogurt. We all enjoyed the time we spent with them. They did respect our alone time as well. My wife and our entire family felt as if, in a relatively short time, had made two new good friends.

Our 'welcome' went beyond our wildest dreams with a lovely array of appetizers and wine. There was a welcome sign on the front door with the names of the guests printed and both Larry & Marla were very friendly and welcoming. The accommodations were very quiet and comfortable. I didn't realize a full breakfast was going to be prepared. Our group needed to get started early one day for a running event and we were up at 5:45 am. Not only was their fresh fruit and homemade bread, but bacon and eggs and coffee. Did I mention the homemade bread? The hosts were incredible, went way beyond our expectations and as they say in their brochure, this isn't a 'business' it is their home. We were made to feel like treasured family members. I hesitate to give such a wonderful review, not because it wasn't earned but now the secret will get out and our next stay may be difficult to book! #1 tip - plan to enjoy the area, beautiful grounds and the yoga studio, if you can. Our stay was too short. Take advantage of the optional dinner at a nominal cost. We dined al fresco in the tranquility of the yard on sumptious authentic Brazilian food. An amazing experience all around. Thank you Marla and Larry (Fiona & Rutherford, thier fur babies) for a truly lovely weekend!

The Lodge was a perfect spot for 5 sisters-in-law to gather for relaxation and to enjoy high-quality accommodations. From the heartfelt welcome and ongoing attentive care, to the specially prepared food items and wonderfully eclectic home decor, Marla and Larry opened their hearts and home to us for an over-the-top bnb experience. The expansive property offers a variety of gathering spaces for personal conversation as well as freedom to explore beauty in the quiet natural surroundings. Helen was a fantastic host, from coming out to the car to help us as we came in to hugging us on the way out! She made my wife & I feel very much at home and we would love to return. The place is close to hiking trails, kayaking, a tiny restaurant & saloon, or just for hanging out at the house listening to bass jump in the lake just footsteps from the door. The dog & two cats couldn't be sweeter. The bed was comfy, & my only regret is we didn't stay long enough...another time.

My girlfriend and I enjoyed 3 nights at Helen's awesome home over Labor Day weekend. Helen was a great host and invited us to a get-together for a few friends she threw Sunday evening during an annual fireworks display over the lake. She also put together a variety of snacks for us, which was very thoughtful. The room itself was perfect - super comfy bed right by the water. Just a short walk from downtown Hell, and a short drive into Pinckney. Helen's place was the perfect get-away for us. We'll be back and recommend that you stay with Helen if there's an opening!

Amazing place to rent with a more than graciously, attentive host in a spotlessly cleaned home! We needed a break at the lake to regroup and this was just the peaceful oasis we were looking for! So beautiful and relaxing that we had a hard time leaving;) Thanks for making our stay so fulfilling.

Helen and Sophia were wonderful and we fell in love with their fur family, especially Elmo. My teenagers had a great time paddling around the lake, fishing, jumping on the water trampoline and sitting around the fire at night. The basement walkout was comfortable and adorable. The king size bed was awesome. The kitchen was extremely well stocked and Helen was very generous with leaving goodies for her guests. In the evenings we enjoyed playing some of the selection of kids/family games and watching Netflix together on the sectional. The only thing that could make it better would be the addition of a bathroom on the lower level and perhaps paddle boards or kayaks, but guests could always bring their own. My kids asked to come back before we even left:)

Held and Sophia were great. Helen took us to a nearby saloon for dinner when we arrived and realized we hadn't had dinner. She was incredibly kind and accommodating. She was happy to hang out with us by the lake or let us keep to ourselves. The space is really nice and very clean with a gorgeous view of the lake! The bed is incredibly comfortable! We had a super time!

It's a very large place with own kitchen and the large terrace overlooking the sea. The bed is very comfy and there is also a large flat screen with many movies to watch after a day out. A lot of stuff from the family that has been adding through the years makes it feel like being a family guest or staying in a kids party room. I only made it to meet Sue the last day but everything was accessible and self explanatory. You even have a kitchen for yourself and there were some food to make a breakfast or a pizza. I enjoyed my stay a lot. The birdlife on the sea is just off your window to hear and watch!

We had such a pleasant and comfortable stay with Sue. It really felt like home. It was clean and cozy. The screened in back porch really allowed for quiet reflection time after out long days working the expo we were in town for. It was a blessing to wake and step outside to the songs of the sandhill cranes on the water. Also, the puns never seemed to get old in regards to staying in Hell MI :) Thanks Sue. Excellent communication, very professional, but most of all the pictures of this house do it no justice for how elegant and HUGE this place is. We had more than enough room for 8 of us to live comfortably for the weekend. Between the movie room, sauna, steam room, tennis court, pool, fire pit, outdoor Viking range grill, and open floor plan inside - the only thing this place is missing is a beach. Thanks again!

Beautiful place, great amenities, good value

We stayed at this lovely house over University of Michigan's Homecoming Weekend. The drive to campus was only about 20 minutes. Our host provided excellent directions, graciously showed us where everything was, how to operate the espresso machine (which we didn't end up using), and more. The house was perfect for our family group with its open kitchen and large granite island. We enjoyed the quiet, private, spacious grounds- especially the massive outdoor woodburning fireplace by the pool deck on the October evenings. The 3 nicely decorated bedrooms contained one queen and two double beds. For couples, double beds are really too small and queen or even king size would be preferred. One bedroom lacked window treatments but the host explained that remodeling is underway. There was plenty of parking in the drive for our three cars. It was an enjoyable weekend.

BEST AIRBNB EVER! We (4 single friends) were extremely lucky to be Nancy's and Jay's guests and we look forward to returning to beautiful Pinckney as soon as possible! The photos don't do the place justice, lots of space, huge kitchen and a gorgeous garden on the lake with everything you could dream of! We especially enjoyed the kayaks and paddle boat - and on rainy days the TV with Netflix and even a Wii! Nancy was the perfect host, super quick communication and super sweet and welcoming! We spent University of Michigan graduation weekend at this adorable home. It is as described and overlooks a Tranquil lake. Penny made us feel very welcome and the directions to enter the home were clear as were the simple house instructions. The weather was cool and overcast but the house was warm and cozy upon our arrival. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. It was close enough to Ann Arbor to easily commute for all of the graduation events and really enjoyable to return to Penny's home in the evening!

We had a fantastic stay at the cottage--it is in a beautiful setting and very peaceful. We loved the fancy little cut-glass plates and glasses in the kitchen. All in all, it was a really wonderful place for old friends to get together.

This is a large lake house with a great porch view, a large great room with ample seating, and four good bedrooms. The beds are comfortable. They have two refrigerators, which was very useful for our graduation party/dinner. The value for the price was excellent. The hosts are very accommodating.

My stay at Penny's cottage was delightful. Arrival was made very easy. Clear instructions were provided for the facility and for check-out. And the location on Base Lake is beautiful. A very good experience. Highly recommended.

This is a cute, older house - nothing at all fancy - but the lake and dock make it stand out. It is very peaceful. Our group of high school students enjoyed using the kayak and sitting on the dock. The kitchen isn't equipped for making large meals, but we managed. It would be best for a max of 8 people. We were 13 and that was a bit tight.

We had a great weekend at Penny's cottage. All was as described. The "adorable pink cottage" has a comfortable vintage (mid-late 20th century) lake house vibe that suited us perfectly for a gathering of friends for a reunion in the area. Clean without being institutional, spacious without being grand. Spotty weather meant only a few brave friends took a dip but said the water was great. The grilling area is covered so sprinkles did not deter us. The kitchen is fully functional (2 fridges too), but tools pretty basic so if you have elaborate cooking plans, be prepared to improvise. The neighboring houses are close by and the few folks we met were very relaxed and friendly. It is distinctly rural and outside the bustle of Ann Arbor but an easy 20-30 minute car ride to town. Our host provided good tips on getting there (i.e., a bridge under construction blocks one obvious route to the house) and communicated clearly on our other questions. Would happily return.
