  • Danny and Diane were amazingly gracious hosts. They went above and beyond to make sure our stay felt like home. Their space is so cozy and welcoming and the warm blueberry muffins in the morning was such a sweet touch. Would recommend a thousand times over! Jas and Nick

  • Danny and Diane were amazing. We got about 8 inches of snow Danny made sure we were able to get out. He plowed the parking area to the ground. They left farm fresh eggs and English muffins in the refrigerator. The best part was to wake up to a knock on the door to hot homemade muffins and treats for our dog. The house was very comfortable and services were on point. I recommend staying there if you are in the area. We will be back. Thanks again.

  • Thanks for everything! It was a last minute trip but Danny & Diane we’re quick to confirm our trip and reach out to us, always responsive and helped make our stay the best it could be. They made sure to make sure we are settled and even gave us extra blankets and pillows without asking to make sure we were as comfortable as possible. We’d definitely come back!

Welcome! Enjoy a few nights or a few weeks at my relaxing home. It's a cabin in a private spot on a beautiful large pond (lake size) in southern Maine. Beautiful, private sandy beach for your enjoyment during the day and nights can be spent with a fire watching the sunset over the pond. Minutes from Towns with antique shopping and about 45 minutes from Portland and Conway, NH. Simply a great experience for couples or a family.
The cabin was founded in 1966 by a family friend, Jim V. He died a few years ago with no family but he loved this cabin. I grew up in this cabin ringing the school bell and swimming in the pond with friends, family, and Jim. Jim was a school teacher from NJ and loved to say "the 2 best things about being a teacher is July and August". Being a teacher with summers off allowed him to escape to this cabin for entire summer and have many visitors. He loved cooking and visiting Italy. The Stanley Pond community is very close and everyone that lives around the pond knows each other and are very friendly. Oh, how did I get this wonderful home.... Jim noted it in his will that I would have the first chance to buy the cabin before it would be put up for sale to the public. My family owns property in the area and live there most of the year. I think Jim just wanted the cabin to stay in the family if possible. I bought it and all the sales went to a Maine orphanage that Jim use to donate to and wanted to help. I decided that I should share this cabin since at this time in my life and can only come up a few times a summer and it would be a shame not to have visitors like Jim used to. Enjoy.
Everyone knows everyone around the pond. The entire pond community knows who I am and I'm getting to know them pretty quickly. It's a community built on everyone loving the water and respecting nature and the beauty of the pond. Keep it clean.
  • Great place for a relaxing getaway

    Mary2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Mark is a great host, and this cabin is perfect for anyone who wants a peaceful getaway RIGHT on the lake. Extra touches like a variety of watercraft made it easy for the people and the dogs to fully enjoy all that the lake had to offer.

    Lisa2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Super out of the way with an array of boats, paddleboards etc. lost if historical things at the house

    Frank2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • We seriously had a wonderful time at this lovely cottage on the lake. Mark was helpful with local stores and a quick check in to say hello and welcome. Relaxing in the front room, on the porch or down by the water was just beautiful. Loons woke us in the morning and put us to bed at night (something we thoroughly enjoyed!) Cant wait to make it back next summer we hope!

    Anna2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • We loved Mark’s place! Private and great access to the water! Kids, dog (and parents) had a great time.

    Adrienne2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most relaxing few days at Marks place. It’s the perfect mix of beautiful scenery with a homie family vibe. We all enjoyed the private pond access and would love to return in the future.

    Lauren2019-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Charming waterfront cabin with a ton of various boats to spend your day with.

    Jean-Baptiste2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect! My almost year old twins, two Shiba Inus and I went to Mark’s cabin for our first family vacation together. I was very picky with choosing a location, as traveling with infant multiples can be tough. Our drive up, I couldn’t believe how remote this place was but immediately felt like home when we arrived (just keep following your gps even when it seems like you can’t go into the woods anymore h!). The view from the sunroom was incredible! Having the tv with Netflix helpful with the twins. The WiFi was slow on my laptop so didn’t get to do much work (blessing in disguise?) but it worked for phones and tv streaming. This place had absolutely everything from toiletries to sugar, tampons and k-cup coffees. It felt like we were staying at a family members home. We had friends come up to visit and they were also in love. The paddle boards were a huge hit, same as the paddle boat. The “beach” is more of sandy steps but the water is not deep to step into and nice for wading. Having dog bowls and the water fountain for filtered water was great. The ambiance at sunset and in the evening was enchanting. With two fire pits both overlooking the lake (pond but you would never know it) and twinkly lights make for the perfect camp night. Pond was clean and perfectly warm/refreshing. Sleeping was comfortable, beds and blankets very nice. We all slept great!! Something about that fresh air. Used the propane grill throughout our stay, very convenient! We didn’t leave the cabin at all because everything we needed was right there. Can’t wait to go back to this magnificent home away from home to make more memories!! My son took his first steps in the kitchen!!

    Jordan2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Eric’s place was very accommodating and spacious for our group of 17. It was about a 30 minute drive from most things. We appreciated the privacy of the house since no one could hear how loud we got since we were a large group. The house was well equipped with information and guides for places nearby. The place was very clean. Eric also allowed us to check in early and late, which was a big help for our group. I would definitely recommend staying at the Hive!

The space is comfortable, clean and friendly, I love hosting and spoiling my guests. I will provide lite snacks, European style breakfast consisting of fresh baked goods, fruit and other yummy bits. Please let me know if you have any specific needs, happy to provide if I can.
Quaint village with great shops and restaurants totally walkable from my home. Friendly people and close to Portland, North Conway, skiing, lakes and more!!
  • Karen’s place was quiet cool, cozy and comfortable. All the 3 puppies are quiet friendly. House is walkable to nearby restaurants like Krista’s etc. Google maps doesn’t direct anyone to the desired address. Try to use Apple Maps which will direct directly to Karen’s beautiful abode. Breakfast was good with enough selections.

  • Perfect location, walking distance to downtown Cornish shops and restaurants! The house is warm, comfortable, quiet and beautifully renovated while keeping the historic charm. Karen's dogs were cute and friendly and made me feel very welcome. The bathroom was super clean and I enjoyed a relaxing bath in the clawfoot tub. Plenty of soft pillows, a cozy comforter, and a white noise machine made for a great night's sleep. Karen herself was warm and welcoming and so accomodating. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

  • Lovely place to stay! Lots of family friendly activities such as game room, playground, swimming pond, and canoes and paddle boats. Small bedrooms, but great kitchen and living room. We would definitely stay here again!

  • Very nice place! We loved the view! Great place for little kiddos and for celebrating a 50th wedding Anniversary! Had all the amenities of home. Nice to have everything available. Scott took us for a ride on his fire truck. The boys will be talking about that forever! So fun for little boys! We will definitely be back!

    Jennifer2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • A truly unique and unforgettable experience. Aside from a gorgeous picturesque lake and quiet peaceful surroundings, the campground has over 1000 acres of woods and trails to explore. Fascinating history and artifacts all around. The cabin was very comfortable and had every necessity and amenity you'd expect. So much to see and so there, including the peace of doing nothing at all. Scott is a great host! Friendly and inviting yet respectful of privacy. Highly recommended!

    Mike2018-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely time at Scott's place. the cabin is cozy and equipped with a full kitchen, living room with 75 inch tv, two bedrooms with queen/full bunk beds in each. outside, there was a gas grill that we used. there are two ponds readily accessible from the cabin. one which had several kayaks, paddle boats, etc and the other which has a small, private beach. according to Scott, this pond is spring fed and my husband and dog went swimming in it. it seemed very clean. overall very relaxing weekend away, where we had the pleasure of both enjoying nature and having all the amenities.

My home is a cozy, classic bungalow, on 10 acres of woodland. Access to the Saco River are 4 - 10 miles away. The 2nd-floor bedroom (window air-conditioner in season) is comfortably furnished with a king bed. Guests have exclusive use of a bathroom with shower, including towels. The bathroom is not en-suite but located immediately next to the room. Guests may relax in the first floor great room, and a spacious screened front porch. The kitchen is available for preparation of light meals.
I have created a quiet space for relaxing and reading and entertaining, to provide the serenity I need. If this is what you are seeking, then this place is for you. There is a collection of books: Travel, literature, short stories, essays, cooking, and craftsman/bungalow style. Also, there are plenty of DVD's.
    - Brownfield, ME is the home of the Stone Mountain Arts Center located across town 8.6 miles. - Fryeburg, ME, home of the famous Fryeburg Fair (September 29 to October 6, 2019) is 10 miles north. - Cornish, ME and its many antique shops is 10 miles south. - North Conway, NH with its all-season recreation, dining, and outlet shopping is 20 miles north-west. - Bridgton, ME, and the Sebago/Long Lake region is 20 miles east. - The Saco River offers great canoe, kayak, and tubing fun. There are several canoe and kayak rental outfitters. Some also offer transportation for you and your equipment back to your car after a day on the river, even if you didn't rent from them. - Restaurants: I have collected menus from several of the popular restaurants in the area. They are inserted into the "House Manual" you will find on the kitchen island. I also have provided a stack of maps, magazines and brochures for the whole region.
  • Listing is accurate. Clean, comfy place with private bath on second level. Great location for many outdoor activities, events or just relaxing. Richard is a wealth of information about the area and about so many topics.

  • Richards home is a unique place tucked back sitting in the woods. Comfortable, clean and relaxing I would highly recommend it to anyone.

  • Richard and his cottage are both warm and inviting. A haven for book lovers, the cottage is built with handcrafted pride and furnished with whimsical touches. The room and bed were comfortable. The fireplace awesome. We were happy to get a chance to meet and talk to Richard on our last night and morning. Thank you for sharing your special hideaway with us!

    Michelle2019-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Richard's space is just what we needed after traveling from FL to Bar Harbor ME. We stopped at Richard's while leaf peeping around and on the White Mountains. His place gave us the peace and quiet we were looking for. We recommend staying with Richard when you are in the area.

    Denny2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Richard's bungalow home was the most relaxing getaway that we could hope for! Close enough to some wonderful restaurants and activities but oh so quiet and peaceful for recharging! Beautiful country decor and well appointed with every conceivable item you could need. While we were at a family wedding nearby - there was a brief power outage in the area, Richard was notified and he immediately contacted us to keep us up to date on all notices from the power company. He made sure we were all set and the house had power before we headed "home" for the evening. Thank you Richard!

    Janet2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful place, had a very nice stay at Richard's house in the forest!

  • The cabin my family and I stayed in was one of the best! Scott and his staff are incredible host and think of every detail to accommodate your stay. Scott took us for an adventurous quad ride through the miles of trials he has on his 1000 acre camp! The Land has lots of history with beautiful ponds that make it so peaceful. A place to get away from it all. I highly recommend if you love hiking, fishing and using a quad. We will be back! Thank you to Scott and his staff!

  • This is a wonderful spot in the middle of a beautiful piece of Maine. The cabin was clean and incredibly well appointed for we three travelers (myself, husband and 13 year old daughter). We used the cabin as our launching spot to visit our son at a nearby camp and added a trip for ice cream in New Hampshire, water skiing on a nearby lake, local hiking and wandering through antique shops in Cornish. The cabin has a camping feel but with air conditioning, a full kitchen, great tv, comfortable bedrooms and shower with good hot water. Scott was attentive and friendly and a super interesting guy to talk with. The resort remains under development and I can only imagine what Scott has in store for the years to come!

    Sarah2019-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • You can expect to relax and have everything you need be provided to you. The place was clean and the beds were comfy! We had a fire on the water and it was lovely! My teenagers had a blast even though Wi-Fi was limited (haha) they spent most of their time on the boats fishing and swimming. We will definitely return in the future.

Welcome to my 'Maine' home nestled in the Lakes Region and just outside of the White Mountains National Forest - perfect proximity for hiking, swimming, kayaking, fishing, or whatever peaceful activity you like! The house is modern with some rustic flare. There is plenty of space to relax or explore the 7-acre yard. There is a beautiful lake about 5 - minute walk up the road with a private beach. It's clean, clear, and warm enough for swimming months - and big enough for kayaking.
This house is on a quiet street in a tiny town that has no stop lights and a secluded beach on a lake; yet it is close enough to North Conway or even Portland that you can take a reasonable drive for shopping or nightlife if you desire. I always like to return to a place where you can hear the sounds of crickets and frogs, view the amazing night stars, and relax next to a small camp fire. Make sure you check out the guidebook here! I have included many suggestions!
The neighbors are far away, quiet, but always send a freindly wave and smile. There is an amazing, secluded town beach a couple minutes up the road. You are welcome to relax on the beach and swim in the lake. Also, burnt meadows trailhead is a quick - yet very fun hike up the mountain for fantastic 360 degree views of Western Maine. I recommend the whole loop, but the out and back is a little shorter if you are pressed for time.
  • This is a nice quiet place and only a half hour away from nearby towns with a lot to offer, we also enjoyed a beautiful fall hike up pleasant mountain.

    Ryan2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, cozy, well appointed, and in the perfect location! We so enjoyed our stay and will be coming back in the future!

  • What a great place! Quiet. Quick access to North Conway and mountains! Adam was fantastic with getting back with info on anything.

    Christopher2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect little gem. Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The cottage was full of charm and much nicer than expected. The photos did not do it justice. We would not hesitate to recommend.

    Denise2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely little cabin located close to both North Conway, New Hampshire and western Maine. It is cozy and comfortable. There are lots of amenities and an especially well stocked kitchen. It felt like a lived in space with live plants, books on the shelves, and comfy furniture. I was there in the fall, and the changing leaves were beautiful. It looks like in warmer weather it would be possible to use the backyard where I noticed a fire pit and gathering area. Check-in was very easy, and host responded quickly to communications. I would highly recommend it!

    Janet2019-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first Airbnb stay. Like we told Adam our stay was pleasant. Adam was responsive with communication has made the checking in and out an easy straight forward process to follow, has a nice clean quiet out of the way place to stay for travelers, gives good suggestions for amenities in the area and time of the year we stayed put simply there were no surprises.

    Michael2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • In Adam’s House you find everything you need. Great value for money.

    Kirsten2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin was exactly what we were looking for. A peaceful weekend getaway. If given the opportunity we will be returning preferably during the summer months when we could take advantage of the lake!

  • This trip was for our family to get relaxed so we were not planning outdoor activities. Cooking good food, playing board games, and making family time together was our main plan, which we did. The house had lots of things to do inside such as a ping pong, which can convert to the pool and air hockey. There were lots of board games as well. A dish washer was not installed in the kitchen but it was not a big deal for us, though I wish there was a dish rack so I could put wet dishes away easily. Beds were comfortable. There were enough blankets. Heating was also good. Our family watched lots of good movies because the host had installed an excellent TV app on the Amazon Firestick. Wifi was fast enough for our kids. Bathrooms were clean and there were a hairdryer, shampoo, conditioner, etc. Outside was not cleaned well due to it's still in the winter season, but our family stayed inside most of the time anyway so it was not an issue. I'd give a strong recommendation for the family with kids age between 10 and 18.

  • Craig’s cabin is an excellent space to go for unplugging and relaxing in simplistic serenity. I found the whole place warm and inviting, and the private location was so far removed from light pollution that the sky truly popped. I was happily surprised to find firewood supplied to add to the warmth and character of the rest of the space. Craig was very responsive and communicative, and went out of his way to make sure I had realistic expectations. I would absolutely stay again

  • The Tap House Loft is an excellent place for a getaway. The space is beautifully maintained, stylish, comfortable, and in a perfect location. The numerous amenities (full kitchen and a hot tub? &@#$ yes!) only add to the exceptional quality of the place. As a host Carrye is highly welcoming, communicative, and helpful. To date this is the best experience I have had with AirBnB and would recommend it to friends and strangers alike!

    Ailish2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a great time at Carrye’s place! We were looking for a quiet getaway weekend and we got just that - but the Tap House downstairs was a great touch, and Carrye and the Tap House staff were so friendly, welcoming and accommodating. A perfect find in Bridgton!

    Jordan2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place is beautiful, the hot tub is awesome and the bar downstairs is very cute, being able to get a professional cocktail and than walk upstairs and hop in a hot tub is not an experience you get in Maine very often!

    Joey2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • What a great spot this was, better than we expected! Carrye was so nice and beyond accommodating, the tap house below was a blast everyone was so nice. The loft was clean comfy and stylish and the hot tub was a huge plus!! Would highky recommend staying here, we’ll definitely be back!

    Anna2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing experience here at the loft! Though we only stayed for one night we had an unforgettable time! Stylish, comfortable space. Very convenient location and the hot tub was the icing on the cake! Would love to visit again.

    Anna2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the Depot Street Tap House Loft was our favorite Airbnb experience we've had yet! The space was warm, inviting, and completely spotless. The bed is extremely comfortable, the personal touches left by Carrye were so thoughtful, and having access to a hot tub right off your bedroom makes it a perfect retreat. Better than that, Carrye and the friendly local Bridgton people were fantastic hosts. We felt like we were right at home relaxing in the Tap House just down the stairs below the loft. They gave us local tips and suggestions, making the entire weekend relaxing and eventful at the same time. The Tap House was certainly our favorite part of the weekend, bartender Mitch makes some great drinks, the infused liquors they have are a must try, and the atmosphere the entire weekend was friendly, fun, and upbeat. We can't wait for our next trip to visit the Tap House!

  • What a place!!! The Loft is adorable and filled with so much character!!! If you enjoy drinks and food and don’t want to drive, well, you don’t have to!! Downstairs to “The Loft” is a bar owned by the Airbnb host! You can enjoy amazing cocktails and talk with so many kind and entertaining local folks!!! If you want amazing food for dinner then you can head next door to, “Vivos” for amazing Italian! Did I mention a hot tub on the deck!? That was the cherry on top for us! We used it multiple times and enjoyed watching the snow fall!! We will be back!

  • Carrye's loft was incredible! Perfect location, beautiful area. Place was modern, spacious yet cozy with the hot tub for an added bonus! Would recommend for anyone!

  • We were visiting Maine for a couple of days with our small travel trailer. Eric's place had a huge backyard that had full hookups for an RV, which was perfect for us. Location was central to the places we wanted to visit. Quiet, private area. Great communication. Highly recommend this place!

This over-garage studio has a private entrance, a queen-sized bed, a futon, gas fireplace, kitchenette and a bathroom. There is a refrigerator, freezer, microwave, coffee maker and toaster. There is also small gas grill. We have beautiful mountain views and are located just 10 minutes from downtown. NOTE: Our driveway is long and steep. 4WD/AWD vehicles are often needed to safely get up our driveway in the winter. Also, you will likely hear the garage door open when I leave for work.
We are dog friendly to friendly dogs! If you want to bring your furry friend let us know. There will be an additional charge of $25. We have a dog of our own. He is a Bernese Mountain dog named Rocky and is super friendly! Please note that our driveway is about 0.2 mile long with a steep grade. While we keep it as clear as we can, in the winter four wheel drive or all wheel drive is often needed to safely get to the house. If you visit in the winter please be sure to come in a vehicle that will allow you to make it up the driveway. Also, because the space is above our garage you may hear the garage door open when I leave for work in the morning.
Our home is located in an area of North Conway referred to as Birch Hill. While there are many rental properties in the area, it is a also a residential neighborhood and we work hard to be respectful of this. There is so much to do! From golf, hiking, mountain biking, fishing, and floating down the Saco to skiing, snowshoeing, skating and snowmobiling there is definitely something for everyone to do. If the weather’s not great or you need a break from all that activity you can take a ride on the Conway Scenic Railroad, visit the Mount Washington Observatory, go shopping, or visit one of the many restaurants. We are close to Attitash, Cranmore, and Storyland.
  • My boyfriend and I had a fantastic stay at Kadies! The view was absolutely amazing and the space was perfect for a little getaway. The space was extremely clean and cared for. I would love to visit here again in the future.

    Kristine2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • I can’t say enough good things about Kadie and her place. It was clean, relatively close to everything, the amenities were updated and very nice. Anyone who stays here should feel lucky to do so! Thank you Kadie!

    John2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot for a stay in the mountains. Super clean, well appointed and great mountain views. Kadie was very communicative and quick to respond.

    Chris2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Kadie's studio was perfect for our weekend trip to the White Mountains. Very comfortable, clean, with a gorgeous view of the mountains. While we didn't get to meet Kadie, communication was quick and easy.

    Mara2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean and comfortable space in a location with beautiful views of the mountains. Checkin was easy and if needed Kadie was very responsive. An overall great experience for my wife, dog and I! I recommend!

    Greg2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot for a weekend getaway! Close to downtown area: shops, restaurants, etc. and close to so many great hikes and places to explore. View is gorgeous and the place is super clean and cozy. Kadie and Tom are spot on with all the recommendations in the welcome binder and great hosts!

    Amanda2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Kadie’s place is awesome- located a quick 10 minute drive to everything you need (restaurants, shops, bars, walks). Everything in the apartment is thoughtfully placed, along with a whole binder full of suggestions of things to do, places to eat, etc. Loved being able to come back from a day exploring to this comfy, clean apt.

    Caroline2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic 2-night stay here!! We came over here from Killington and it was better than imagined! The gas stove keeps the place very warm and the host were fantastic. The place was sparkling clean and we were greeted upon arrival and given a tour of the suite. The views of the mountains are beautiful, when it is not snowing that is! The location is back from the main road but still close to everything! We received a few inches of snow and while we were out exploring came back to a plowed driveway and shoveled walkway! We will defiantly stay here again next time we are in the area! Highly recommended!

  • We loved our long weekend at this cottage. We visited in winter and loved how quiet and peaceful the neighborhood was. We enjoyed cooking in the kitchen, which had all the utensils we needed. The rest of the cabin was cozy and comfortable. If we are in the area we would love to stay here again!

  • James was very quick to reply when I requested his cabin when we were in a bind on vacation. The cabin was spotless and so incredibly homey. There were so many nice touches like a washer and dryer, complete with laundry pods. We hope to come back in the summer to spend sometime on the lake!

    Melody2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • The Freedom Cottage was a great stay for our family of 5. We were skiing at King Pine only 15 minutes away. The layout was nice and the kitchen was well stocked. We appreciated having basics like spices and cooking spray, not to mention laundry pods and dryer sheets. There was TV and a DVD player as well as games for entertainment. Instructions were clear for check-in and check-out. Jim did a great job setting everything up.

We are also very grateful the driveway was cleared first thing in the morning after the overnight snow! Will definitely return as this seems like a great spot regardless of the season.

  • Fabulous place to stay! Took my sorority up for the Fryeburg Fair as our fall retreat and everyone loved it! Extremely clean, modern, and you could tell everything was newer. We slept 11 comfortably with room for much more! I also really enjoyed chatting with Linda in preparation for the trip, she was very attentive and great with responding! I would 100% re-book this Airbnb for future trips in the area.

    Hannah2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Linda’s house is private and spotless. The setting is magical- in the middle of the woods but there are great restaurants and shops within a half a mile away. It is also about 45 minutes to get into North Conway/White Mountain range. I dealt directly with Bill, whom I would like to commend for having amazing attentiveness and thoughtfulness. We hit awful traffic on our drive into Maine and arrived later than expected, so we were told to take our time leaving on Sunday and not to stress over check-out time. Bill gave us a tour of the house, set us up with firewood for a campfire, and made sure we knew about all the local hotspots. Also, the wi-fi went out on us one night and he drove a half hour to the house to fix it for us right away. It was so nice to have peace and quiet and to recharge ourselves for a weekend here. I really can’t say enough... and I can’t wait to go back!

    Amanda2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin offers a quiet getaway in a cute little town with good spots for coffee, food, and antiques. It looks like it has been updated and provided us with the space we needed.

    Sarah2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • As mentioned there is another house connected to the house that is for rent, and there were people staying there 1 of the 2 nights we rented the house. They did not care about the noise we made and it was not an issue at all. Otherwise, we rented this house for a great value! The house sleeps a lot of people, is clean, and all the amenities are modern. They provided us with plenty of free firewood , and they little yard was perfect to hangout in at night. Was a great weekend in Northern Maine!

    Stephen2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • You will have people at your service, ready for anything for your comfort. Still available. They are perfect

    Celine Féline2019-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • This was as close to perfect as they come. The house is in a secluded, wooded area with nothing but the sights and sounds of nature to envelop you. It’s perfectly situated with day hike trails and boating/kayaking activities nearby and the White Mountains and outlet shopping just a short drive away. We went into the next town over - Cornish - for dinner and had a great meal amongst friendly people’s who welcomed us like long-standing friends. An added plus: it’s only an hour to the coast and a day trip to Cape Elizabeth or Portland (which is what we did) is easy. Linda went above and beyond to ensure that we had a great time and checked up on to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. All in all, a joyous experience in Maine.

    Jake2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • The house was exactly what we were expecting. It was large enough for our group of 14 and very relaxing. Would definitely stay there again!!

  • Shawn's place was perfect. We had a blast. The place is exactly as described. Great for entertaining and having a group of people. Lots of sleeping situations. Would definitely recommend.

    Charles2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Second year in a row we’ve stayed at Shawn’s place. Perfect as always, we have a big group of people that come from all over and the place has everything and all the room you need. The grill was out of propane which stunk but that isn’t a deal breaker at all, the place is isolated and perfect for what we needed. Just far enough from down town, there’s a game room and a fire pit, nice kitchen and air conditioning in every room which was very much needed the weekend we were there. • This place was great! Perfect for a big group (we had 10 people for a long weekend). Shawn made sure the place was ready to go for us and was super responsive during the whole process. Made for a great bachelor weekend, about an hour from Portland and close to the Saco river and Sebago Lake. Would definitely recommend this house for a long weekend. Thanks!

  • We had a great stay with Karen and Scott. The cabin is brand new and still smells like fresh wood. It was very clean and comfortable. We came to Maine to go to the Fryeburg Fair and this cabin was about 20 minutes away. It was also close to Cornish, with interesting shops and restaurants, and near several apple orchards. Yet, it felt remote and the area was quiet. Just what we needed. We used one of the canoes and went fishing on the pond, and my son and I explored the property a little. We didn't get a chance to use the fire pit or the grill. Next time!

    Jennifer2017-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • The property was absolutely gorgeous and Scott, the owner and host, is now a forever friend. The cabins were clean and cozy making it the perfect weekend/week getaway in the heart of Maine. Scott made sure we had everything we needed and was an open book on the history of the property and his excitement was contagious. He was gracious enough to let us borrow his side-by-side to explore the land and gave us a personal tour himself. My S.O. and I felt like family. The location was perfect. It was quite and free from the summer tourist chaos. Cornish, a quaint downtown strip was close by with local antique, toy and jewelry shops. However, you were just a short ride away from the hubbub of Portland, ME and North Conway, NH. If you have children, there was a fantastic brand new playground with pirate ships and all the imaginary fun that comes along with it. Soon to come, is a natural spring pond that will be just right for a summer's fun of swimming.

  • My wife and I and our dog had an absolutely lovely time! The view is spectacular and the blueberry pancakes are amazing. The house is charming with a wonderful old country feel. Take the time and listen to the host George over breakfast - he will fascinate you with his stories from a life well lived and a love for the house and the land. We can not wait to come again!!

    Joseph2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing spot with spectacular views! Victoria was very responsive and helpful whenever we had questions and George cooked up a delicious breakfast! We are definitely looking forward to coming back!

    Rusty2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay with George and Victoria! We were their first guests after their renovation and the accommodations were perfect for our Valentine’s get away. We were able to do some snowshoeing, then come back enjoy the sauna, or just unplug with a book or a game of chess. We had plenty of privacy. In the morning, George cooked us a delicious breakfast of pancakes and ham steaks. This was one of my favorite experiences with Air Bnb and would highly recommend to friends and family.

    Lindsey2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Brookhirst Farm is just as beautiful in the Fall as it is in Summer. This 215 year old home is filled with modern comforts and history. The setting up on a forested hill is idyllic. We loved George’s delicious breakfasts, especially the blueberry pancakes! We rode the cog railroad to the top of Mount Washington and had plenty of time to eat dinner and get back before dark. Highly recommend this Airbnb!

  • If you take only one thing away from this review, it should be that this place was excellent. Good value, great views, kind hosts. Despite the relative out-of-the-wayness of the location, you've got access to a fair few things to do (hiking, skiing, snow-shoeing, cinema, etc.) On the whole, it was a positive experience. The only major hangup was an incident getting into the driveway due to some pretty seriously icy conditions. Owners took it in stride though and fixed the problem the very next morning. If you're on the fence, this place is worth it.

    Michael2017-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Brookhirst Farm is an absolute treasure. If you like nature, beauty, tranquility --all the wonderful things that can slow your pace and encourage you to relax-this is the place for you. Victoria and George are superb hosts!

    Catriona2016-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place. We have been there four times already and will continue to come back. Victoria & George are always welcoming & the perfect host.

    Nicole2016-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Victoria and George are such lovely hosts! Charming and gracious from the time of our arrival up to our departure. George makes the best pancakes in NH and is a great narrator. We really enjoyed our stay and will surely come back. The farm itself is impressive, the view marvellous. The reality is even better than you can assume seeing all the pictures here. Thanks for all!

This cozy bunkhouse is located in the heart of the White Mountains. A true camp experience for outdoor enthusiasts. Bring your camp tote with sleeping bags & play gear. Hiking, rock/ice climbing, alpine/nordic skiing, kayaking, swimming, fishing and more just minutes away. Mountain bike or snowmobile from the door. At day's end you can decide either to hang at the cabin in front of the wood stove or head out to the many great establishments in the Mt. Washington Valley.
When you look at this space from the outside you see a work shop/wood shed. Once you open the door you enter into an inviting newly renovated bunkhouse with natural wood walls and ceilings, wood stove and bunk beds (bedding not included).
The thing I love most about my neighborhood is its quietness, particularly at night. It is off the beaten path yet close enough to every activity from outdoor adventures to restaurants and shopping.
  • Sandy’s bunk house was rustic, cozy, and clean, and my friend and I had a great overnight stay prior to skiing Wildcat the next morning. We loved using the wood burning stove, and appreciated the quiet location.

    Jarrett2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • It was exactly what promised and a great location and price!

    Alfredo2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Sandys bunkhouse was very comfortable and perfect for a solo retreat. There is definitely space for a couple people to stay, but I would recommend traveling with people you don’t mind sharing close quarters with :) I loved the thoughtful touches of having the wood stove ready for a fire, and the guidebook on how to use the stove and the amenities. There is no running water in the winter, but there is electricity and loads of outlets. I traveled in early March and the wood stove was plenty to keep the bunkhouse warm.

    Carly2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Sandy's place is the perfect bunkhouse for being close to the Whites! The wood-burning stove keeps everything warm, the location is great.

    Sarah2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay! Helpful information and description of check-in processes, etc

    Meghan2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly as shown. Host was very responsive and made sure I understood everything about the bunkhouse.

    Ryan2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is awesome. It was exactly as described and very clean. If you need the essentials and can use a wood stove this place is a great stay and an wonderful value.

    Ted2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Sandy’s bunkhouse in the whites. We will certainly be back.
