An excellent cottage, in a cracking location. Perfect place to base yourself for exploring East and South Lakes. It's rural enough to avoid the din of thousands of scurrying cragrats in Ambleside, but close enough to be able to nip in to buy essentials. There's a pub on your doorstep and, better still, beautiful scenery to explore in any direction. The cottage itself is pretty, clean and big enough to accommodate 4 for a few days. Wifi was quick and stable, parking abundant. If I had one criticism, an icebox/freezer in the fridge would have been useful, but that's the only tiny one. Superb stay and very easy to book and communicate with the host.

A lovely little apartment in a quiet location close to Ambleside and Hawkshead, a perfect base for walking and exploring the Lake District. Pre-check-in communications were perfect and the instructions were clear and concise. The flat is cosy and comfortable and was well-prepared for our arrival. The only drawback was lack of internet access, but that may actually be a plus.

A cute and cosy hideaway in beautiful, tranquil surroundings, away from the Lake District crowds. Ten minutes in the car from Windermere/Bowness. Loved the underfloor heating in the bathroom.

This is a special place. Beautiful surroundings, a place to relax and recharge the 'batteries'. Enjoyed the visit from the 'cheeky pheasant' each morning. Cecilia was the perfect host and made me feel most welcome.

We had a fantastic 2 night stay in Cecilia and Paul's lovely Willow apartment and exploring the surrounding areas of the Lake District. As it was our first time visiting the area, we were very grateful for the advice from Cecilia and Paul on how to make the most of our short time which included maps and detailed directions for walks and a trip on the steamboat from Glenridding. The apartment was the perfect size for the 2 of us and had everything that we could possibly need for a warm and comfortable stay. We would love to have stayed for much longer :-)

We really loved our stay at Willow. Cecilia was really knowledgable about the area. It had everything we needed and more! It was great for a quiet birthday weekend away from it all, but was still close enough to everything we wanted to see and do. We'd highly recommend Willow; it really is a hidden gem.

We spent a wonderful week at the Hideaway cottage. It was charming, cosy and very well presented. Everything you need is provided and the host was very quick to communicate and help both before and during our stay. We would definitely recommend this cottage for couples. It is ideally situated for the Coniston Fells which you can access right from the front door.

One of the best mini breaks we've had ! The cottage was perfect for what we needed. After a days climbing Scafell Pike it was lovely to come back & warm up in front of the log burner. A short walk into town & had some reasonable meals out. The Autumn colours were fantastic & well worth the trip. Would highly recommend x

What a lovely little place to retreat to, nestled at the base of the hills and a fairly short walk to Coniston village. Straight out of the door and walk ahead leads you straight to The Old Man. Perfectly situated with lovely homely touches and an inviting log fire... A great place to stay

The house is fantastic, the photos go a little way to demonstrate this. The bathrooms are beautiful and a touch of luxury. The house itself has all you need and is more than we could of wished for. Location is walkable to two local pubs that do good food and good ales. Walkable to the ferry or drivable which takes you to bowness. Spoilt for local walks. We will certainly recommend Richards place to friends and family.

Nice, lovely, cute and very clean house in a beautiful natural setting. We saw a deer 100 mt past the house walking to the village! The house is located up the hill 15/20 minutes walking, we didn't have the car but we managed doing everything! (including the shopping). Heather and Andrew were helpful and the house is perfectly organised! We definitely recommend this place

We had a great few days staying in the lovely Holly apartment - it was clean and very cosy. Andrew and Heather were very friendly and welcoming, providing lots of useful info about the local area. Holly has a great location - only a 5 minute drive to Windermere and Bowness or 20 minute walk, both of which are well sign posted. The apartment was equipped with everything we needed and more, making our stay perfect. We'll definitely stay here again!

We had a fantastic stay at Holly. Andrew and Heather were very welcoming and gave us lots of information about the area and accommodation so that we felt comfortable during our stay. The cottage is in a fantastic location, secluded but not too far outvof town. There are brilliant views just a short walk up the drive and lots of wildlife that visits the garden. We had such a wonderful and relaxing weekend and would definitely consider another stay. The bed is massive and so comfortable!

A great value property in a quiet country location.Easy walk into the town of Bowness so one can avoid the traffic. Wonderful kingsize bed...always a bonus! Well this is a fabulous little cottage, it has everything you need. Its so clean and cosy too. The hosts were fantastic and on hand if needed. We arrived and there was tea, coffee and milk all there ready and waiting. Its location is spot on, you would think you are miles away from everyone in a kind of forestry/rural setting and yet we were only a 5 minute drive away from Windermere town. Ambleside is so close too around 20mins drive. Dont hesitate to book this little cottage, its a gem of a find and the huge queen size bed is a bonus

We had a perfect stay at Holly! The apartment was very well equipped with everything we needed. The bed was huge and very comfortable, and the bird table and bird indentifying cards by the window were a great addition. We had much more fun than we thought we would bird watching over breakfast. The location was great as well, only a short walk in to Bowness which had some lovely restaurants. Andrew and Heather were perfect hosts and made us feel very welcome and made sure they were available over the phone if we needed anything. They also recommended driving up to Rydal for a walk around the lake which was beautiful and we would definitely recommend to anyone staying at Holly or anywhere else nearby. All in all a perfect weekend, thank you!!

Jo's place is perfect when you are hiking around the lake disctict. It is quite and clean. Jo was very welcoming, ready to give advices for visits and she cooks great English Breakfast!

We had a great relaxing time at Jo’s place. It’s very well located in a residential street, just a few minutes from the train station, restaurants, and supermarkets (Booths was a great discovery). But at the same time, the area is absolutely quiet at night. Jo was a great host, giving us tips on day excursions and local food. There were three main breakfast options every morning: full English (with vegetarian option), toasts with jam or various cereals with milk, but she stressed we can request something different if we get bored after a few days. The breakfast is quite early, at 8.30 and there is only a 30 minutes slot when the food is being served. It worked perfect for us, though, as we were motivated to set off hiking early every day. The room was cosy and warm with an en suite, and it was equipped with TV, wi-fi, towels, cups, kettle and shower gels (iron and a hair dryer were available too). Our favourite part was the bed, as it was extremely comfy, I don’t remember the last time we slept so well. The room was cleaned daily and resupplied with tea, coffee, milk, biscuits and a bottle of water. We loved our stay in Windermere and a great part of it was thanks to Jo. We’ll definitely be back.

Lovely cabin in a peaceful and relaxing location next to the Troutbeck river. Enjoyed the lakes very much.

I stayed at Puddleduck Lodge with my family for three days and had a wonderful time! The cabin was really easy to locate and its location made it easy to travel to tourist attractions by car from there. The cabin itself was really well-stocked with cooking equipment, some games (for rainy days) and the beds were clean and comfortable. Something we appreciated was how the lay-out of the cabin made it easy to find private nooks despite the cosy set-up, and the peaceful surroundings - being able to hear sound of running water from the creek behind the lodge and birds chirping in the mornings and evenings was a lovely touch. The sole con for my internet-addicted family was perhaps the weakness of the WIFI bandwidth, which is no fault of the hosts since the service is provided by Limefitt Holiday Park itself, though future guests may perhaps be better served by coming prepared with books/DVDs, or a willingness to talk to each other in person. Robert and Kathy were wonderful hosts - patient, knowledgeable and very willing to offer assistance. When I remembered that I had forgotten to check the arrangements for checking in, I was already en route to the lodge (and had minimal phone signal), but Robert responded to my panicked questions about how to check in very promptly and the issue was resolved very quickly. Robert was also really kind to share restaurant recommendations (that met our dietary requirements) and walking routes when I asked. We are very grateful for how welcoming they were as hosts and would absolutely recommend Puddleduck Lodge to everyone.

A lovely cabin in a good location, close to Windermere and easy access to hills, lakes and mountains. Communication and info pack from the hosts were excellent and the cabin was brilliantly equipped.

The place is exactly what it looks like and described in the pictures . My family and I stayed here at the start of the year and enjoyed it thoroughly .

Lodge is very comfortable and was a home away from home. Perfect location nestled within the Troutbeck Valley. WiFi signal provided by the park is great, meaning we could stay connected with the outside world! Very clean and the lodge was fully equipped with everything we needed. Thoroughly recommend and will be back!

We had such a wonderful honeymoon at Peasecroft. It is a really cosey, romantic little place. The location is great too - it feels secluded but is only a five minute walk into the village of Coniston and several pubs.

Great place to stay and unwind - the place is so well thought through and well finished. You have everything you need to relax and enjoy the countryside - easy access to walking paths and near local amenities too. Perfect!

James's cottage was fantastic! Everything needed for a comfortable stay in the lake districted was included. The beds were very comfortable, the bathroom was very clean and tidy with really nice fittings, heating was easy to use (although we made use of the open fire quite a bit which was great). James left a booklet detailing how to use all of the appliances and useful contacts and places to visit, which was very handy. We went out to dinner to the Brown Horse Inn which was on the list of preferred places to eat and had an amazing meal! All in all I would highly recommend James's Air BNB! A welcome pack of wine and chocolate was an unexpected surprise! Thanks James!
