Places to stay in Glover
Bright, airy, private one bedroom apartment in our 1840's farmhouse. Surrounded by craft breweries, farm to table food, cross country & downhill skiing, lakes & mountains, miles of dirt roads, beautiful views -- and only 5 minutes from I-91 and a 5 minute walk to Parker Pie.
Relax into the comfort and convenience of your own private apartment. You'll have a large, airy, light-filled great room with living, dining, and kitchen areas, a cozy bedroom with a queen sized bed, and a spacious bathroom with tub and shower. The kitchen is well-equipped with a Keurig coffee maker (and a French press if you prefer to bring your own special grind), dishes, pots & pans, utensils, a microwave, and toaster. There is a small fridge and a 4-burner gas stove. We supply a selection of K-cups, cream and sugar, a few basic spices and other non-perishables. Please help yourself to anything you find in the cupboards. The lodge is spacious for a couple, and will comfortably accommodate four people. There are three queen-size sleeping options -- in addition to the bedroom, there is a pull out sofa in the great room and an air bed if needed, so up to six people is possible. Our house is a typical Vermont farm house (1840's) and has a stable attached to the house. We have 35 acres which includes horse pastures and lower woods and wetlands that are fun for aimless, meditative walks. We also have a dog and two cats. Although the opportunities to explore the rich cultural and recreational offerings of our area are almost endless, many of our guest seem to enjoy simply being in the lodge. It is a very pleasant space, no matter the season or weather, to escape, relax, and rejuvenate.
The Northeast Kingdom of Vermont has become a destination for people interested in world class craft beers, ciders, and spirits, artisan cheeses, and a vibrant local food scene. We are within half an hour of Hill Farmstead Brewery, Jasper Hill Cheese, Craftsbury Outdoor Center and numerous lakes and hiking and biking trails. Bread & Puppet is just down the road in Glover. Burke and Jay Peak ski areas are an easy 45 minute drive. From our house you can walk or bike to Parker Pie for great Pizza and beer. Lake Parker is a five minute drive and has a public boat access. Bring your bicycles, and you could spend a weekend exploring the miles of beautiful dirt roads that connect West Glover, Irasburg, Albany, Craftsbury, and Greensboro.
  • We did not meet the owners but we did not need it since the entry procedure is very easy. A lovely charming apartment in the mountains of Vermont!

  • Beautiful spot and great hosts!

    Mike2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • This was our 4th visit to The Lodge and it did not disappoint. Anne & Brian's space is well-appointed with all you need to be comfortable for a night or several. The space is spotless and full of sunlight, yet so quiet that you'll rest peacefully. You're a short walk away from Parker Pie—the best pizza in Vermont)—and there is snowshoeing available right outside the door. This is an excellent spot anytime of year. We're excited to come back.

  • Super clean and wonderful stay in West Glover. Amazing restaurant down the street!

    David2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Anne & Brian’s place is always great to stay at. The space is large, clean and within walking distance to Parker Pie. I’d recommend their place to anyone looking to stay in Glover.

    Brian2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Anne and Brian's apartment was perfect for our short 2-night stay. Very spacious, surround sound tv, and an extremely comfortable bed. The best part though was it's right up the street from Parker Pie Co. Great food and beer! We will definitely be back next time we find ourselves visiting the area and Hill Farmstead Brewery.

    Shaun2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful space. Perfect place to relax. Fun snowy walk down the hill to pizza. Will return for sure.

  • Their place was beautiful, the apartment, the furniture, the cleanliness, the views, everything. We booked on short notice and they were very accommodating. We wish we could have stayed longer.

  • Very cozy cabin on a pretty little lake in the NEK. Great local spots a short away!

    Talinn2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Very cute, cozy cabin by the lake. We didn't get the most out of the location because of bad weather but would recommend it.

    Paul2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • The pictures DEFINITELY don’t do this place justice. It was absolutely stunning and the perfect time of year to see Shadow Lake. The fall-color reflection on the water was a beauty to behold. I stayed in the loft and my aunt downstairs. I stayed up a bit later to take some long-exposure pictures of the lake at night, which was a lot of fun. The next morning, we went to breakfast at the Busy Bee, which was a perfect start to our day in Vermont. I’d stay here again :)

    Kyle2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed for a night in early October; it was a perfect spot for an evening in the NEK. We took a nap the moment we arrived, then drove up to Parker Pie for an amazing dinner. Then back to the cabin with a couple cans of beer, put Safe House into the DVD player, and cozied up on the couch. In the morning we made coffee and walked along the shore of the lake. We’ll be back for sure!!

    Jedediah2019-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely and quaint little spot with water views and small private beach. Great option of kayaking which we would have utilized had the weather been warmer. Everything we needed for a lovely evening and morning. A true NEK gem :) great that it was dog friendly as well!

    Sarah2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I had a great time here! The cottage is clean & comfortable. We really appreciated the wifi because our cell service was spotty around Glover. Greg is so friendly and helpful! We would love to return in the future

    Kristin2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Greg’s place! Everything you need in a quiet, cozy locale

Birdhous in the heart of Vermont's Northeast Kingdom. Right off of Route 16 and less than a mile from interstate 91 for easy access to area attractions or rest along your route. This season, we're offering our guests room by room rentals, hoping to connect more with and to bring better energy into our hous than has been offered when renting the whole place as a private space. To note: we offer all of our bedrooms this way and you are likely to be sharing spaces with other budget Airbnb guests.
This home functions as a residential agricultural incubator in the warm months and is available as a cozy nest for travelers during the cold ones. Our hous is a budget, no-frills, basic amenities kind of place, but we'll be happy to rise to the occasion if you let us know what you need! The toilet is separate from the bath to allow for long uninterrupted periods in the tub.
  • This is a perfect place to stay if you just need a place to sleep without expecting too much. The beds are comfortable, there’s plenty of towels in the bathroom and you’re close to the highway. The stairs and doors are a bit creaky but you are in an old farmhouse. I would easily stay here again. Tip: Go to The Parker Pie Company (7 mins away) for great beer and pizza!

    Austin2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the farmhous was good. It is very farmy. The cats are extremely friendly and will try to be your friend instantly! Jes is helpful and responsive. The room is spacious, minimalist, and clean, adequate for a night to rest before hitting the road, and the living/dining room space is comfortable as well. If you are looking for privacy, this place is less ideal, as you can hear what is going on in the other rooms and in the bathroom, and the staircase leading to the room (there are 2 on 2nd floor) is creaky. All in all, good place for good value.

    Meilani2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, a true farmhouse. Well worth for the price

    Emily2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • Clean. Helpful, functional touches with hooks, mirrors, table surfaces, and power extension cord in bedroom. Great communication. No frills, cost-friendly, exactly what I was looking for.

    Lisa2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Good value

    Dominic2020-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • This place comes at an unbelievable value! The pictures are a very accurate depiction of the space, it was what I had expected and more! The living area is very nice, very comfy living room. The kitchen is perfect for a short term stay. The room was comfortable, and the beds were clean and there were plenty of covers to keep warm. The house is well heated and the wifi has great speed. Jess provides a nice library in the living room and a very comfortable couch. The bathroom is a little small, but at such a great price, you can’t ask for anything more! Everything that Jess provides for at this price is simply incredible! This is the best deal I’ve ever found on Airbnb! I would definitely recommend!

Located on the top of a hill in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom, my cabin is a perfect little nest! The vibe is cozy, the land is exquisite and healing and the room fosters some of the best sleep you'll find. I live here and want to be clear that this listing is for my guest bedroom and not the entire cabin :) Minutes to Bread & Puppet, Redsky Trading, Parker Pie, the Craftsbury Outdoor Center and Highland Lodge this room 'in the middle of nowhere' happens to be in the center of the universe.
The cabin is rustic but very well-appointed. There are hills and stairs required. I currently reside here with my partner Brian and our 20 year old cat, Walter. Though I love to clean for my Air Bnb guests and keep things beautiful, it’s important to note that my cabin is lived in and your stay here may feel more like staying with a friend than at a room in an Inn or hotel. Some people refer to my staircase as a ladder...it’s short and steep. I’ve never had a guest experience an issue with the stairs but I want to note that they’re steep so you’re not surprised. Walter, the cat, interacts with everybody that stays here. He’s the sweetest cat on Earth, loves wet food, conversation, sunny spots, catching mice and chin scratches. Like all good cats, he comes with cat hair, an occasional hair ball and a litter box. I keep things tidy but you’ll know that Walter lives here too... WINTER/MUD SEASON TIME NOTE!! This cabin is rustic and even 'hard" in the winter. You will need snow tires to safely drive to the cabin and will probably want 4WD/AWD as well. At 2,550' on the north-facing slope of a hill, there is *a lot* of snow here and we're last to be plowed. If I am not home to greet you (which happens from time to time) you may need to do some shoveling to get into the driveway and parked....this is just part of life here on this hill. Snow boots will be desired as well. It's comfy and well-appointed once you're inside but getting inside can prove challenging. Please only book this cabin if you're well-equipped to deal with winter. Thanks!
West Glover is gorgeous and wild. It's far away from everything and also smack dab in the center of the universe. Neighbors stop to help each other here, we grow food, skinny dip in swimming holes and play softball on Sunday. Walking and biking the roads here is joyful. Exploring the lakes and ponds is too.
  • WoW ! Beana and Brian’s cabin is absolutely beautiful and really hard to explain in this minor review section. Basically to keep it short , me and a friend showed up strangers and didn’t wanna leave our new friends after 4 nights. Super grateful to have spent the time we did in the northeast kingdom. Can’t wait to return ! Oh and Walter , he’s pretty rad himself ! Highly highly recommend !!

    Michael2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Beana and Brian are warm, friendly and welcoming hosts. You immediately feel like you are just visiting some friends. They are more than happy to chat with you in the living room while listening to sounds on their vinyl record player but also give you your space if needed. After a long day of skiing, there is nothing better than a really hot hot tub under the stars. On the next morning, Beana and Brian lend us their snowshoes so we could explore the surrounding forest for a short hike. Walking in the untouched, sparking snow in the woods was truly enchanting. Amazing location! Great hosts! Highly recommendable!

    Laura2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • We wrapped up our trips in 2019 and celebrated my husband’s birthday in no better way. The rootstock cabin is incredibly special and our stay was a one to remember. The owner by the name of Beana, is one of a kind. Her kindness and compassion is very inspiring . She welcomed us with Walter and Brian and they were a treasure to stay with and talk to. We are grateful for the precious time We spent there and for the good Memories that We will for ever cherish.

  • Amazing, a beautiful piece of the northeast kingdom. Highly recommended!

    André2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Beana, Brian & Walter were the greatest hosts (feline entertainment was top notch!). Welcoming, warm, and kind. The cabin is beautiful and exactly how you would imagine a sanctuary in the woods - magical! Expect rest and relaxation both inside her home and the surrounding area. Such a special place and so happy to have shared time with some wonderful people. 10/10, would go again!

    Carole2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Beana's cozy cabin is the perfect haven in the woods! She's filled the space with inviting, stylish touches, and it's an ideal place to escape to—I'll definitely be back for the chance to sit by her fire with an adorable cat.

    Jen And Daniel2019-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful stay at a special place. Beana is the host of the century. Her home is cozy & welcoming - a true reflection of her personality. Couldn't have picked a better place to get some relaxation and reflection time.

    Mathew2019-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Unfortunately, I had to cancel my trip to Beana’s place. But the communication with her could not have been easier. I will certainly book a stay with her again since her hospitality before I arrived was great!

  • Really great place to stay!!

    Thomas2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • This worked great for our ski team racing in Craftsbury. Lots of room for a big group. We had a great stay!

    Tracey2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • Thomas and Amanda's place is indescribable. The cleanliness, amenities, hospitality, location, literally everything was beyond par! We came here for Thanksgiving and not for a moment did we feel as if we were away from home. Their place is warm and cozy and super well stocked. The area outside is so serene and quiet. The swings and the lake do deserve a special mention! We will definitely go back to theirs in our future trips.

    Palaash2019-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing. Sparkling clean and amazing amenities, including games, kayaks, and fishing poles for use on the private pond. Delightfully surprised with a welcome basket upon arrival. Will definitely be back.

    Jacqueline2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • The location and home are gorgeous, the grocery store nearby is great, and we would recommend this to anybody, particularly families with children.

  • Gorgeous views and beautiful campsites. The hike in was great and you feel on top of the world once you get to the campsites

    Savannah2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Phil was great at answering questions. He reserved camp 1 for us. AMAZING views, especially at sunset. It's a bit hidden, so easier to arrive in daylight.

    Ryan2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Philip's property and camping sites are purely magical! The photos don't do the views any justice. They are absolutely stunning in person. Sitting by the edge of the site enjoying the calm breeze while looking out over the treetops lining the blue skies above the sunshine reflecting off the lake below with my young son was one of the most perfect moments of my life. All three sites have stunning views but we chose the third to have more privacy. There were other people camping on sites 1 and 2 and another down by one of the many structures built around the property but no one bothered anyone else and all were friendly when we passed each other. You can hear some noise from the lake below but overall, it is incredibly peaceful and we enjoyed a nice fire in the fire circle provided while gazing at the full sky of stars at night. Philip was friendly and quick to respond to our questions. He was available by phone to help us find the site when we arrived. Like others said, there is a bit of a hike to the sites. The trail to the first site takes about 3-5 minutes. To the third site took around 7-10 minutes. We don't have much experience hiking beyond large, flat trails and struggled to stay on the path when we first arrived (luckily Philip was readily available by phone and helped us get back on track!) and afterwards, while making trips to and from our car. My wife left small piles of pine cones along the trail to help us and others find the way. Hope it helps some of the other less experienced adventurers find their way to all three of the sites! We also left behind some extra firewood by the trail entrance. We can't wait to stay at this gem again! Thank you, Philip for sharing this beautiful place with others. We are so grateful.

    Noelle2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Zen location, stellar views, the perfect Vermont haven to chill out with nature and enjoy this wonderful state! This is my 3rd time here, and definitely coming back!

    Jesse2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • 10/10! Philips sites are amazing. Site 1 has incredible views, but you may encounter some people if you chose that site as many people have been going to that area for years with their families to see the sunsets - which would still totally be worth it regardless, everyone in the area is so nice anyway! We chose site 3 only because it was the most secluded. All 3 sites are a really good size, we had a 9 person tent, a grill, and a table set up with still plenty of room. There were people at site 2, but we didn’t hear them, although we became friends and ended up hanging out! The walk was about 5 minutes into the woods, which sucks when you’re weak like me, but it was doable if you pack light! (I’d still do it again no questions asked) We knew to pack light from reading previous reviews, so instead of risking forgetting something we just packed everything we would’ve for a normal camping trip, and left half of what we brought in the truck until we needed it. I wish I could attach pictures, because nothing beats the views you get at these sites. I’ve already recommended the sites to 3 people who saw pictures of mine, and they can’t wait to check it out. There’s a lake at the bottom of the hill, but if you want to drive about 15 minutes, you need to check out Lake Willoughby while you’re there. So many beautiful places all around the area. We’ll definitely be back, thanks for sharing your property with us Philip!

    Kimberly2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Great view and location. Quiet and we had a great time. Make sure to find wood for your fire before getting there as it is really expensive at the grocery store.

    David2019-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • If you like backpacking to a private beautiful camp spot this is for you! It is primitive but Philip built a convenient fire pit and small bench. There were two other campers next to us but we did not see or hear them.

    Diane2019-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • Philip is a great guy with an absolutely stunning property! Highly recommend to both locals looking for a quiet place, and to those hoping to truly experience Vermont for the first time!

Unplug, relax, and marvel in a magical tiny house in the woods of the Kingdom. Perched high on a mountainside, this little cabin sits surrounded by towering sugar maples. It is a step back in time — a place to read, hike, create, and recharge. Enjoy cozy evenings by the warm glow of a wood stove. Explore thousands of acres of forest by snowshoe, ski, or foot. Eat fresh eggs from our chickens. Minutes from Caspian & Shadow Lake, Parker Pie, Craftsbury Outdoor Center, and Hill Farmstead Brewery.
**Read this: this is a rustic cabin — water comes by operating a foot pump by the sink. There is a shower in the main house or gym across the street. You’ll need to bring a couple bundles of firewood in the winter AND be okay with using an outhouse. There IS electricity.** **As much as we love them, no pets in the cabin — not even our own dog.** I had a dream of living in a tiny house in the woods when I was very young. I still remember every detail — a little kitchenette, a cozy bed, some skis outside the door, a whole mountain range out the front window. In October 2019, my brother and I finished the Analog Cabin, and it seems that dream has come to life. Named the Analog Cabin because it’s also where we write and record music, this cabin has been a true labor of love. Each of the logs weighs between two and four thousand pounds. Every notch was carved by hand. We improvised a lot as we went. As you approach the Analog Cabin, you’ll notice you're climbing higher and higher. That’s because you’re entering the highland snow belt of Beach Hill, a veritable Narnia within an already snowy state. As you pull into our little pocket of the forest, the cabin will appear through the trees. Inside you’ll find a luxuriously comfortable American Leather Comfort Sleeper queen-sized bed, a writing desk/table, a bookshelf made of repurposed antique delivery boxes, and a tiny kitchenette with a mini-fridge, induction cooktop, and toaster oven. Then there’s trusty Jove the Stove in the corner, ready to heat the cabin and create the perfect atmosphere on cozy nights. Spring, summer, fall, winter — The Analog Cabin is a fairytale come to life. **Our house is about 50 feet from the cabin and is fully visible from the porch. You can take a shower there if you’d like, or go to the gym just down the road. We’re still building our house and are happy to chat about the process of homesteading in the modern world. **You’ll need to bring bundles of firewood to help keep our supply in stock (1-2 per day). We’ll tell you the best places to get a bundle once you book, including a discount code for our local store. **Kitchen includes a hot plate, microwave, and mini-fridge, but is not equipped for full-on cooking. **Driving in the Northeast Kingdom in the winter is no joke. Snow tires, all-wheel drive, and/or front-wheel drive are recommended. Our road and driveway are plowed. **The cabin is about 12 minutes from the supermarket in Barton, 12 minutes from the Craftsbury General Store, and 15 minutes from the Willeys’ Store in Greensboro. You are nearby tons of pristine lakes and rivers, the best brewery in the world (no joke — look up Hill Farmstead Brewery), the best cheesemaker in the world (Jasper Hill Farm....also no joke), nordic skiing at Craftsbury Outdoor Center, mountain biking at Kingdom Trails, and ski resorts such as Stowe, Burke Mountain, Jay Peak, and many more. Check in: 2pm or later Check out: 11am
Parker Pie, arguably the most famous pizza place in Vermont, is right down the road! A little farther is the Barton Bakery and Parson's Corner (excellent brunch/lunch). In the other direction are mouth-watering meals at the Craftsbury General Store and the Willeys'.
  • Thinking dark but cozy? I was, but found light, lofty and cozy! Massive logs form the walls of the Analogue house that Kyle (and bro) built. A great host, Kyle has made elegant, thoughtful use of space and amenities. Light gray runs through the inside with a large slab of grey marble as a base for the little wood stove that could ( keep you nice and warm). The pale gray sofa yields a comfortable, supportive queen size mattress. Grab a book from the North Woods library corner and hunker down for a seasonal read or nap. Hungry? Function changes with color in the cheery red and yellow kitchen corner. Kettle, hot pad and toaster oven. Foot pump for water. Finally tuck tongue in cheek and check out the latch of the out-house—hmm, or have you instead been sent to the dog house? Do Have fun!

    Mary2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • The Analog Cabin is truly a magical and memorable place. We came when it surprisingly snowed a foot and a half, and the wood stove was able to keep us at a perfect temperature. Kyle was extremely hospitable, and we felt as though we could go to him for anything we could have needed. The view in the morning outside of the cabin is spectacular, and we actually spent most of our day in the cabin because we didn't want to leave! :) You can tell a lot of thought and care went into the building of this place. It was extremely clean and cozy. We were able to heat up a bunch of food for dinner, and make our own breakfast with provided local eggs on the hot plate in the kitchenette. I would highly recommend staying here in any season if you are looking for an NEK getaway. :)

    Emma2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is a perfect escape from anywhere you need escaping from! Kyle was exceptionally accommodating by starting a fire and preparing the cabin before our late arrival. He also made an extra effort to make sure we had access to showers if we needed them. The kitchenette was very functional and easy to use. The space is very thoughtful and cozy, and the views out the window were fabulous. We enjoyed exploring the area (cheese, beer, skiing, pizza) and reading some of the books by local authors that were in the cabin. 10/10 would reccomend to anyone who enjoys peace, nature, and woodburning stoves!

  • As host, Kyle is absolutely amazing and care about your stay. It’s a peacefull place where you can breathe fresh air and relax away from the city, I totally recommend!!! We went to mount Pisgah that is really close to the cabin (amazing in winter) and also the Hill Farmstead Brewery (also close to the cabin), it was a great week-end !

    Jérôme2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The Analog Cabin is very cute, cozy and surrounded by an amazing landscape. Kyle is a perfect host : very helpfull, friendly and full of good advices. We will return and I definitaly recommand this place.

    Magalie2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Kyle is a great host! We had clear directions for everything - how to get to the cabin, details about the outhouse, how to build a fire etc... The scenery around the cabin is breathtaking and the location was perfect for us - close enough to get to town but far enough to feel like you're in the woods.

    Tiffany2020-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome stay, would highly recommend! Kyle is a great host, beautiful cabin and really fun area.

    Heather2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay in the cabin! It is a beautiful and functional little space with a great view. It was a fun game to keep the wood stove stoked all day. The kitchen was surprisingly functional and well stocked considering it is small. Kyle was a fantastic host, giving us local tips and even shoveling out our car for us after a snowstorm! He also lent us his snowshoes so we could explore the cross country ski trails through the woods around the property. Overall a phenomenal spot and would definitely visit again!

Soak up the sunset drenched water views of this Northeast Kingdom lake house. Perched on Lake Parker, three verandas surround the house providing a choice of sunshine, dappled sun, and shade. Or, walk out on the dock and take in the big sky any time of day. Hear the call of the loon and perhaps glimpse the resident eagle. Sky and lake views pour into almost every room in the house. Comfy furniture, plenty of dishes, games and books are conducive to quality time with family and friends.
Great room, with propane fireplace, opens onto large deck with lots of space for lounging and dining. The kitchen is equipped with propane stove, fridge, dishwasher, plenty of dishes and a breakfast bar. There are two bedrooms upstairs, with a queen size bed, a private bath and balcony in the master bedroom, and a double bed in the other bedroom. Finished basement opens onto lakefront, with TV and table for games or computer, and futon sofa for additional sleeping. The other bathroom is on main floor. This multi-level house is NOT handicap accessible or easy for people who have trouble with stairs. There is a garage for storing bikes and easy access to two kayaks under the deck.
This is the friendliest neighborhood ever. The local pizza/beer pub and community gathering place Parker Pie is a mile down the road. Beach Hill Fitness, a gym with exercise equipment is two miles in the other direction. This area has world class gravel road biking. The Orleans County Fairgrounds is 4 miles, Bread and Puppet Theater is about six miles. The house is a 10 minute drive to both Barton and Glover Villages, with groceries, libraries and gas. Less than a half hour drive on the back roads to world renown Hill Farmstead Brewery, Highland Center for the Arts, Craftsbury Outdoor Center, Sterling College, the Old Stone House Museum, the Bread & Puppet Museum, the Museum of Everyday Life and Willoughby Lake with miles of hiking trails. Visit the Farmers Market in Glover on Sundays, or any morning indulge in fresh baked goods from the Barton Bakery Company.
  • Such a great host! Amazing views and wonderful hospitality! Couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

  • This is a rare property with amazing hosts Denis and Peggy. Place is big and at beautiful lake. Hosts are really helpful and keeps the place neat and clean. We stayed here 2 nights and they were not enough for this amazing experience . Definitely would like to come back.

  • 5/5! Perfect spot for a getaway break. Beautiful location and property. The decks are fantastic to unwind and relax. Enjoyed the kayak's and paddle boards too. Would love to return!

    Tom2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Peggy’s place was a dream! The area is beautiful and the lake is lovely. Having the canoes and big wind surfing board was super fun and the dock was a great space to enjoy the day and have a nice sunset snack. The house is fully loaded and there’s everything you need there, the kitchen is better stocked than most peoples homes! Loved the area, the pizza place was delicious, hill farmstead brewery was great, and the Puppet show was weird and not sure I would recommend but the museum there was amazing. Would definitely return to the house.

  • Backyard incredible!

    Caroline2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was amazing. The kitchen was well stocked and we made use of the kayaks and paddle board. There was a fire pit and even a small garden with fresh veggies! Peggy was prompt with responses and we would love to stay again.

  • Just book this place! It was fabulous!!! If you want to just relax by a gorgeous lake in a beautiful home, take in the scenery, and just recharge, this is the best place to do it! It is clean and comfy, open yet still has a cozy feel. Everybody around is super nice and some fun things to do as well. I give this place 10 out of 5 stars!!!

    Alison2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • This lake-side house has a wonderful deck and dock: the deck is enormous and well-furnished with chairs, tables, and a propane grill. The sunsets are beautiful. The dock, too, is a lovely place to sit and read and from which to take a swim in the truly magnificent. crystalline waters of Parker Lake. There are several kayaks, as well. Given the number of houses surrounding the lake, it is remarkably quiet and peaceful; the haunting and sometimes comical cry of the resident loons was the only sound we heard some evenings and every night. The location of Peggy's and Dennis's home can't be beaten: on the lake and just a wee bit down the road from the fabulous Paper Pie! The house itself is comfortable and well-equipped: the kitchen contains a good stove with a griddle; a large fridge and freezer with bountiful ice; nice stoneware plates, and plenty of cabinets & workspace. The living room has a big window overlooking the lake and a large gas stove for chilly Vermont evenings. The deck off the master bedroom also overlooks the lake. And if you want to stay in touch, both internet and smartphone reception are strong. Dennis and Peggy are considerate hosts: they answered emails quickly and were friendly and welcoming (Peggy greeted us with a sweet bouquet of wildflowers). The guest book contains many good suggestions in regard to food, beer, maple syrup, hikes, etc.and some nice history of the region. Neighbors, too, are friendly. All in all, we enjoyed another terrific stay in the NEK--one of our favorite places in the USA and our time at Sunset Perch only added to our pleasure.

This is a seasonal cottage that is right on the water facing West. One side sits next to a dirt road that is pretty quiet, but not deserted. Occasional cars, farm machinery & four-wheelers do go by. However, you can sit on the vintage porch and feel like you have left the rest of the world behind as you listen to the loons. This special kind of space is for those who like a touch of country, it is not a hotel. Mostly available late spring & late summer and fall.
This two story cabin is tucked away in the wonderful area of West Glover, Vermont which is nearby the famous Parker Pie ( pizza-pub) , Hill Farmstead Brewery, and Jasper Hill.
Not only are you on lovely Lake Parker, but you are in a terrific neighborhood of friendly people and calling loons and croaking frogs. Peace and quiet does seem to be the way of life here.
  • A great place to stay in the Northeast Kingdom. Sue's house has everything that you need for an enjoyable stay. Plus, a wonderful view of Lake Parker. Look forward to returning some day.

    Gavin2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect for a getaway. Host was very nice and accommodating. The location with such a quaint little house on a beautiful little lake in the middle of October when peak season for fall was that its best. Will definitely be returning. The little town has much to offer also.

  • The Testers' place was amazing. We had a great time kayaking on the lake, enjoying the fire pit, and hanging out in West Glover! Their place had lots of activities to enjoy the outdoors including a beautiful backyard. We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning to Vermont.

LARGE picture window upstairs with spectacular changing views of the mountains, night sky & stars, and protected farm animals. Pristine nature sanctuary (swimming, hiking) is just down the hill. Near to Kingdom Trails, Craftsbury Open Center, Hill Farmstead Brewery, Burke Mtn, Lyndon, and lots of great places to eat. 1/2 hr to St Johnsbury, Canadian border/Newport.
We are 1800' elevation and near pristine swimming/hiking/fishing just down the hill. Charming Historic Guest House with Old World touches sleeps 2 couples + kids very comfortably -- can sleep 3 couples & 2-3 young toddlers. The downstairs Great Room has a full kitchen, dining area + 5-gallon hot/cold water dispenser, couch-bed (inner spring mattress) in front of the HDTV w. Blu-ray DVD-Netflix, WiFi (10 Mb, unltd). Upstairs Great Room has a kitchen nook (great for morning coffee, breakfast in bed), King-size Bed, Captain's Bed, beamed ceiling, and a very large picture window that is a s-l-o-o-o-w entertainment center. Mountain views change with the light, and the stars on clear nights are beautiful. The 2 bedrooms (another King-size Bed in one with attached bathroom, Full-size Bed in the other with attached 1/2 bathroom) have Cable TV. All upstairs rooms have adjustable baseboard heating controls. Downstairs is heated by a pellet stove, & there's a supplementary wood stove if needed and a really great space heater should you want to use it. Nature Preserve is easily accessible just down the hill, wit Bread & Puppet about a mile further on. We are near Kingdom Trails, Burke Mtn, many great eateries, and St. Johnsbury. In the other direction: 18 minutes to Hill Farmstead's world-class Brewery, and 27 minutes to Craftsbury (concerts & Farmer's Market on the commons in Summer) & The Open Center. Newport & Canadian border about 35+ minutes North of here. Many great swimming places nearby (& some boating places, too) & Farmers' Markets. Hardwick (about 22 minutes south of here) has a great Food Coop & upstairs Cafe. A few doors up the block is Positive Pie (very popular), and other eateries, book stores, and across the suspended walking bridge are a flower place & yarns/sewing shop. Nearby is a great place to spend time at: Perennial pleasures; They offer tea etc. on fine china inside, with beautiful varieties of chickens wandering around outside, wonderful garden areas to wander around in and come back loaded down with wonderful flowering plants. On the way back you can visit Circus Smirkus, , Highland Arts Center (classes, movies, gallery, cafe), then stop in Greensboro and visit Willy's Country Store, go across the road to Miller's Thumb Gallery (beautiful clothing & art items) which has a window to look down through at the rushing stream that runs under the store. Greensboro also has a Farmer's Market. #1 rated Hill Farmstead Brewery is about 10 minutes from there. So many wonderful places to go to, and things to do when you're here--or you can just soak up nature here, unwind, de-stress & breathe in the fresh mountain air.
We're not the only ones who love the views up here. In Winter the VAST Trail has a spur along the west border of our property, and the Main Route 122 VAST crossing is just up the road. Some come to go to Kingdom Trails (20 minutes away) and knock themselves out mountain biking, or skiing and many events at Burke Mountain. Craftsbury's many events (concerts & more in summer) and in winter there is the Open Center's groomed x-country trails (& dog-sledding). #1 Rated Hill Farmstead Brewery is just 18 minutes away (closed Sun-Tues). Thanksgiving often has the first good snowfall but this year snow started in early November and we've gotten 48" as of November 30th. In Winter there is x-country & downhill skiing, sledding, ice fishing, snowmobiling, dog-sledding, snowshoeing, and building snow things. Up here (Zone 4, 1800' elevation) we get LOTS of snow--3 miles away the weather is warmer and they get much less snow (Glover & Sheffield towns are at lower levels). Newport/Lake Memphremagog and the Canadian border are about 35+ minutes away, offering guests a day-trip to Canada's environs (old-world Magog, Stanstead, Sherbrooke, and Quebec City are recommended). In summer there are: the little-known sanctuary (swimming, hiking, scenic overlook, more) around the corner (May-Nov), Bread & Puppet Theater (2 miles down the road), Farmer's markets, open air concerts on the Common at Craftsbury, lightning bugs in July, and the peace & tranquility here away from the populated regions -- our Guests love to return. Many guests love gazing at the stars on clear nights. Birds all year round, Spring peepers in Spring, butterflies, fireflies & Luna moths in summer, the occasional moose, the abundant nature, wildflowers, beautiful Fall foliage, healthy water & raiding organic goodies from the Guest House Garden in the warm months. Others come for the many things to see, do, go to in the region, and come back happily exhausted at days' end. Swimming, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, biking, canoeing, kayaking, theater, concerts, exploring, boating -- so much in the warm months. early October to around the 21st are the various stages of foliage--from brilliant colors to glowing yellows afterwards. Many choices for all seasons or just unwind, relax and enjoy the many comforts of the Guest House. • We loved the guest house! Before booking, you should know that it is quite rustic - not like staying in a spotlessly clean hotel room - and also very remote. There are few businesses in Sheffield itself, and the nearest towns with ample shopping and dining options are 30 mins to an hour away. But on the other hand, the location is stunningly beautiful and close to gorgeous lakes and mountains with hiking. And the cabin itself is super cozy. We stayed there on a VERY cold November weekend, and sitting by the wood stoves watching movies was pretty perfect for us. Plus, Stephanie and Marc are lovely and so welcoming!

    Anna2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • First steps through the door and you are immediately charmed by the space. Nicely appointed with all that you need and more than you don’t know you do! The view from the picture window was a slice of heaven. Marc and Steff are kind and thoughtful and available but not intrusive. Location is great (we wanted to visit HFS - truly less than 20 minutes away) and so cozy. We appreciated that our small dog, Tuxedo, was welcomed too. We hope to return for a spring/summer view!

    Meredith2019-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • Marc and Stephanie are so warm and welcoming. The farm is just gorgeous and they are doing such great work with the geese and donkeys and biodynamic farming and so forth. We had a marvelous stay. The extra touches made our weekend very homey and comfortable. We really enjoyed it.

    Seema2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Marc and Stephanie were such hospitable and kind hosts! Their farm is really close to a lot of great places to go snowshoeing and cross country skiing. The view from the second floor bedroom is gorgeous--it looks like a framed painting. Highly recommend!

    Erica2019-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • So there we were in Vermont for a friends and family reunion in Sheffield during an awful winter storm. Marc and Stef were FANTASTIC - the AirBNB was incredibly warm, cozy, and spacious for the four of us - we could have fit 2-3 more folks in easily, and all of us comfortable due to a well-stocked pellet stove and backup heaters. Not just that - Marc had the driveway cleared every time we went in and out, despite the blizzard putting down multiple inches an hour. He made sure the winding mountain road was clear as well - guiding us safely out of the driveway and onto the main road. Amazing hospitality during inclement weather. We'll be back.

    Melody2019-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful location, excellent accommodations, and very caring hosts. We felt comfortable and at home right from the get go. The space is gorgeous, from the beautiful floors to the amazing picture window. The wood stoves kept us all nice and toasty, and we would definitely stay again. Thanks Marc & Stephanie!

    Ken2018-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • Stef and Marc made us feel like we were staying with family. There were drinks in the fridge, fresh bread on the counter, plenty of coffee, and homemade granola. The pellet wood stove worked great, the beds were super comfortable, we loved Hazel and Bobo, their donkeys, and our dog, Athena, was welcomed with open arms. Stef even gave us home grown garlic cloves to take home! Thank you so much for the wonderful stay!

A Farmhouse all to yourself in West Glover! The Farmhouse is set on a very quiet and picturesque country road. Set between the Main House and Andersonville Farm in the beautiful Northeast Kingdom of Vermont.
The Farmhouse in Andersonville is part of Ledgenear Farm. The farmhouse was built in the 1800's, but has been updated to modern comforts. It sits between Ledgenear's main house and Andersonville Farm where cows are raised and milked to make world class cheese.
Andersonville is small enclave of the beautiful Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. It sits at the corner of Glover, Albany, Craftsbury and Greensboro. So we are close to many beautiful lakes: Lake Parker, Shadow Lake, Caspian Lake, and Crystal Lake a few min. away. Parker Pie is our local eatery and pub. And not too far away is Hillstead Farm Brewery. Pete's Greens organic vegetable stand farm is close by. Local Meet and Eegs are readily available as well.
  • Spacious, clean, warm and comfortable house. Beautiful location - 15 minute drive to the BEST cross country skiing in new england! Friendly hosts.

  • We enjoyed our stay in Nella and James' roomy farmhouse in the heart of maple sugar and dairy country. The wonderful Craftsbury Outdoor Center is a quick 15 minutes away and offers 104 K. of groomed ski trails. We were in heaven.

    James2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely farmhouse with spacious rooms and simple furnishings---the kind of house that really absorbs friends & family easily. The views from the kitchen both front and back are gorgeous. We really enjoyed our stay--especially the close proximity (approx 15 minutes) from the cross country skiing at the Craftsbury Outdoor Center. The roads were well plowed but it is on a long hill and we were glad we had put on our snowtires. The host were excellent communicators and turned up the heat before our arrival; house instructions were clear and easy to follow. We look forward to coming back another time!

    Hannah2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • The location, price, and size of James and Nella's place was perfect for our extended family. This is not our first visit here and probably not our last.

    Sarah2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at James and Nella’s place. It’s a lovely old farmhouse with beautiful wide plank floors, but wasn’t dusty or dirty the way older homes can be. There isn’t really and decor to speak of, but lovely big windows and a great view. Close to Parker Pie and the Busy Bee, or Red Sky when they are open. It is one of the loveliest areas in the world. Yesterday was a perfect day for cross country skiing. Lots of local trails to explore. Great time had by all!

    Katherine2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful farmhouse! Be mindful of location, while scenic and peaceful, it is on a long dirt road and you should consider your cars ability to drive on snowy/icy conditions. The house was cozy, heat worked wonderfully. Plenty of room and comfortable beds. The house was perfectly clean as well. Wifi is fast, Apple TV was great. Beautiful view from every window. We had such a relaxing and peaceful weekend with friends.

With very personal touches and quick responses to any inquiry you have expect to feel spoiled Sutton. We have a cozy log cabin on 40 acres of maple woods. It is great for relaxing and privacy. There is great country stores and beautiful lakes around. We are close to Jay Peak and Burke Mountain.
  • This was a lovely escape for us! We love the space and found it very relaxing! We are two working professionals with a lot of responsibilities and this is exactly what we needed. However, I can see how this would be a great place to bring family, reunite with friends and just great for anyone who likes the cabin feel. We enjoyed local restaurants, a local brewery, and the scenic roads to and from this location as well. The hosts were amazing at communicating.

    Rachel2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is much better than pictured and it was such a lovely stay and can't wait to be back. Anna was incredibly communicative and helpful throughout the entire process. Can't recommend this place enough- especially if you have any fur friends! Our pups loved running around the huge fields across from the cabin. Thank you again for the wonderful time!

  • Excellent location - amazing place to get away for a weekend and disappear. This was my second stay here and it didn't disappoint.

    Todd2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great cabin in the woods, we wish we had stayed longer!

    Amy2019-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great rustic cabin in the NEK! People and pups both loved swimming in the pond!

  • Nice secluded cabin. Close to downtown Glover and near Barton. The road the house is on might make you feel like you’re in the wrong place but trust the map and you’ll arrive at the house just fine.

    David2019-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy , relaxing and Perfect!!! Should be the title to this place. Anna was excellent and detailed everything I needed to know, their back story is inspiring, loved this place, and was more than can be described. When you ACTUALLY get there its Perfect for a get away, quick peaceful trip, or longer stay. We will be back to soak it up again...IF its available.....BOOK IT!!!

    Dion2019-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great place if you wanna spend some quality time with friends/family far from the city and have a big breath of nature! Anna made sure we had everything we need and replied quickly when we have question. Plus, she gave us good addresses around the place!

  • Darren's communication and coordination were excellent, and this place is is excellent, as described.

    Ben2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Darren was a great host and the house was exactly what we were looking for! We loved being surrounded by nature and the lake was beautiful! The town itself was also such a nice retreat from the craziness of the NYC! Not to mention we were able to enjoy skiing in both Burke and Jay Mountains since they were a short drive away! Would definitely recommend this house for anyone looking for a nice quiet getaway in the mountains!

    Katie2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • The house is beautiful it sits right on Crystal Lake. Clean and spacious. Perfect getaway for couples or a family get away. The view of the mountain is worth staring out all day or for sunrises or sunsets. Very pleased.

    Veronica2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Darren's lake house is one of the best! We've rented houses before but this experience was by far the best one yet! Darren certainly is a "super host"! If you have questions, don't hesitate to message him, he will get back to you. The lake house was fully stocked with everything and anything a family would need anywhere from towels, linens to all spices in the kitchen. Very roomy open living room/kitchen area with 3 good sized bedrooms. Our family enjoyed the fireplace in the living room and the pool table downstairs. Clean, you want clean, come to Darren's lake house and you will get clean!! Our family came for a long weekend and was there during a 12+" snowstorm. We went ice fishing & snowshoeing, perfect place for both. The views looking across the lake at the mountains was breathtaking, especially after the snow storm. If our family does this again we will definitely rent this place again. Thank you Darren! ~The Alex & Rhonda Hart family

  • This cabin exceeded my expectations! It was clean and had plenty of space for everyone. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had plenty of supplies for cooking. Deborah gave thorough instructions and was quick to respond. I will definitely come back again, hopefully in the summer so I can experience the lake!

  • We had a great stay at this lovely home. Everything was spotless when we arrived. The house is very well equipped and the beds were very comfortable. The owner was responsive and provided good information. The house was a short drive to the Craftsbury Outdoor center and good snowshoe trails.

    Constance2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Cleanest rental I ever stayed at, we made an effort to keep it that way too. Beautiful home, cant wait to go back.

    Patrick2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely house, beautiful location (even under inches of fresh Vermont powder!). This is a great place to stay and explore, especially for winter sports fans; there's plenty of flat space for snowshoeing or crosscountry skiing, easy access to hills for sledding, and so on. The house was spotlessly clean and very comfortable.

    Janet2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great family getaway staying at Holt Lane cottage! Deborah was very responsive to our questions before our stay. The place is clean, brand new and extremely well equipped. We also loved the location in the middle of the countryside of Vermont but close from groceries (10 min drive) and a pizza restaurant/convenience store (10min walk) We enjoyed running around outside playing in the snow. The view right on the lake is peaceful and beautiful. Hill Farmstead Brewery and Willoughby Lake are each 20min away from the cottage! We already plan to come again during the summer! This is a perfect place for families with toddlers.

  • This is a great little cabin. It does get tight with two people and sports gear (ice climbing), but a nice kitchen space, which is useful since there’s not much dining in the area. A great place for enjoying Lake Willoughby.

    Kel2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy space for two. Affordable and within easy distance to the area's fun outdoor amenities. For those sensitive to sound, do note that the furnace hums around 35 dBA periodically.

  • We HIGHLY recommend staying here. We came here with our two dogs and 11 month old son. The cabin is beyond gorgeous with absolutely breathtaking views. We were able to cook all of our meals in the kitchen and enjoyed our coffee with the views of the green mountains. We were close enough to explore Stowe, lake Willoughby, hike mount Pisgah and if weather permitted we would have hiked more places! Merle was an excellent and responsive host. We hope to come back soon!

  • Merle's place was great! We were looking for something private and quiet and that's exactly what we got! We were up for a weekend, so we didn't get too much time to explore the area, but we really enjoyed what we were able to do. Hill's Farmstead Brewery was definitely the highlight for us, but we also enjoyed Parker Pie Co. and hiking in Willoughby State Forest.

  • Amazing cabin retreat with modern rustic touches! Clean and unique that made you feel like you were out in the wilderness without truly being too far from the main town. Lee is a thoughtful host and has created a home away from home. We are sure to return yearly! What a perfect place to relax, recoup and have fun in winter wonderland. We could not have asked for a better stay!

    Toni2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Lee’s place is something truly special. Upon arrival we felt right at home. Her home is beautifully decorated and incredibly cozy. On a quiet country road in northern Vermont this stay is going to be one we will talk about for some time. We spent Thanksgiving here and had everything we needed to entertain our family. Lee had great suggestions about local places to eat and visit. Parker Pie Company definitely did not disappoint and a visit to Stowe was not too far away. It is clear there is a lot of love and thought that has been put into this home. We feel very fortunate to have found this stay and we look forward to future visits-next time we hope for much longer!

    Adriana2019-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful home! I can't say enough good things about this stay. The house was gorgeous and well stocked with everything we needed to cook and enjoy the country. The beds were very comfortable. The house was bigger and better than the pictures even suggested. And to top it all off, Lee was a pleasure to communicate with, giving us great ideas for new fun things to do in the area. I highly recommend this stay.

    Christi2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • This is one of the most beautiful houses we have ever seen (ever- not just including Airbnb). We felt so fortunate to stay in what is obviously a very special place. Really, if you like architecture, decor, interior design, and/or quiet country get aways, you could plan an entire vacation around this airbnb. There are 3 bedrooms all equal in size but with unique touches, plus a loft with 2 additional beds that our 4yo daughter called the “tree house”. The house features about 3 or 4 sitting/living areas with lots of couches and lounge chairs, as well as a large dining table and kitchen, etc. both bathrooms are full (one has a clawfoot tub and the other a large, modern shower). Easily, 6 adults would have more than enough room here. There is a wrap around porch complete with chairs and views of trees and hills. Our daughter was delighted to discover toys in the loft and she loved seeing the calf and horse. We enjoyed the little write-up about the history of the house. Lee also offered us some phenomenal ideas for activities to do as a family. The Bread & Puppet museum was very unique! We wished we had more time to do the hike with the faerie houses. The place is a short drive to Hill Farmstead (the perfect place to kill a few hours if you like craft beer and hanging out on porches/lawns in picturesque settings- kid friendly, too!). Easy check-in. Easy check-out.

    Benjamin2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful home!!! Our whole stay, we kept saying how lucky we were to have found such a great spot.

    Katie2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Lee's place struck the perfect balance between nature and having all of the creature comforts to entertain. We enjoyed several days hiking around the state forest and the near by lakes. We even snuck in an afternoon visit to Hill Farmstead. The local restaurants and shops are not to be missed. We didn't have time to visit the Bread & Puppet museum, but it is nearby and by several reports certainly worth a visit. We enjoyed sitting on the porch each evening watching the fireflies. If you are looking for an idyllic getaway to unplug you'll find it here.

If you enjoy peaceful and serene surroundings, this place is for you. Where nature abounds and beautiful Lake Parker is right there for you to enjoy. Whether it be swimming, fishing, kayaking, or just listening to the loons and watching the occasional bald eagle in the warm season or in the cold season enjoying the nearby ski resorts, snowshoeing, sledding, VAST snowmobile trails or just making your own snowman, the experience will be cherish
This is a modern home built in 2013, that offers a private deck overlooking the lake and charcoal grill available. House is located on a dead end road with minimal traffic. Shared dock with use of 4 kayaks and a peddle boat (seasonal). A fire pit for making smores and flower gardens to walk around and enjoy. There's a walking trail around the lake (approx. 5 miles) maintained by Lake Parker Association and a map of local hikes in the nearby 7 mountains. A booklet is available for review of home guidelines, local events, etc. No landline telephone available. Owners offer emergency use of telephone only. Cell phone connection through WIFI available.
The neighborhood is quiet and the traffic is minimal on our dead end road. Within a couple miles is the Parker Pie Co. and Country Store, Currier's Market, and C&C Supermarket. We will provide a number of brochures in the home for your convenience and interests.
  • This is a great space with a spectacular view! The house is built so that there is a common space on the upper level with 2 private bedrooms and one being in a more public area, but with a great view. For coffee drinkers, the coffeemaker is for k-kups. Everything is extremely clean and the beds are comfortable. Teri was the perfect host - friendly and available but not hovering. We even saw the loons. Loved it!

    Catherine2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Teri’s lake house is absolutely incredible. A stunning, quiet oasis in the middle of Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom. We were here catching the start of the fall foliage season, and to say it was perfect would be an understatement. Teri was responsive, available, and the house itself was great. She’s provided kayaks, fishing gear, a peddle boat, and anything else you could want to fully enjoy the leisurely pace up here. Every evening after work (I work from home and the Wi-Fi and cell signal were fine) I’d go kayaking to watch the ducks, geese, and loons. One note: You definitely need a car to get here. We considered going without, but that would have been a mistake. All-in-all one of my favorite Airbnbs.

    Anthony2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Teri’s place. The location couldn’t have been more beautiful and the house was ideally situated right on Parker Lake. We loved taking the kayaks out and exploring the Northeast Kingdom area. Teri was an incredibly hospitable host, and even shared some of the bounty of her garden! The house itself was very clean and laid out nicely for our small family. We would definitely return.

    John2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Teri and Rob were lovely; easy to get a hold of and quick to respond. And their place is a great little home right on the water. We would gladly stay there again.

    Ryan2019-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay in Teri's house on Lake Parker was a delight. Great for all kinds of water activity, walking, biking, eating (one evening we paddled across the lake to Parker Pie), and close to the many creative things happening in Glover. There was plenty of room for 5 of us!

  • Great time was had by all! Beautiful view, enjoyed dining on the porch overlooking water, kayaking, swimming and fished off their dock. Caught a huge Small Mouthed Bass on last night too! Perfect time away from home. Everyone slept comfortably (5 adults). We will definitely return here in the future. Thank you Teri!

    Stephanie2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful and peaceful location! Great layout so you have plenty of privacy if you are sharing the space with family or friends. We loved sitting out on the dock watching the loons. I highly recommend this place!

  • Excellent, quiet, serene spot. Tea and coffee on the deck watching geese, seagulls, loons, hummingbirds...oh my. Teri is delightful - she was quick to communicate and answer any questions from the start. Totally recommend it.

Birdhous in the heart of Vermont's Northeast Kingdom. Right off of Route 16 and less than a mile from interstate 91 for easy access to area attractions or rest along your route. This season, we're offering our guests room by room rentals, hoping to connect more with our guests and to bring better energy into our hous than has been offered when renting the whole place as a private space.
  • Very cool shared farmhouse. We were in the ground floor queen room and it was perfect for our budget and needs!

My place is close to Crystal lake, bread and puppet, Parker pie. You’ll love my place because of beautiful views and privacy. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), big groups, and furry friends (pets).
  • The views from the cliff side are just wonderful. With ample space, lake access just a short drive away, and the perfect sunset location, there’s little that is left to be wished for. With everything the area has to offer, you surely won’t be disappointed.

  • so perfect! I loved the view the place to make a fire was beautiful too. do not like me did not look behind the mobile home! it's really in the top, there is a tree with paint on it is :) have fun !

  • Nice place for camping. Every space are far from them. We have privacy. Philip is quiet and respectful guest. We suggest to do not arrive after the sun goes down.

  • It is a great, quite basic campsite with a nice view.

  • One of the best camp sites I have stayed at in Vermont. Views are amazing and Philip was very helpful.

    Ezra2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice camping spot with breath taking view :) Philip was helpful while communicating and the camping spot is easy to reach by foot ( only like 5 minutes walk ) We were only there for one night but, I keep this place in mind for a future camping trip !!!!

    Karine2017-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great secluded spot away from the packed campgrounds with outstanding views of Crystal Lake. Philip was helpful in guiding us through the beautiful woods to the campsite. It was about a 5 minute walk to the car. The spot is very primitive, meaning no amenities and no bed. We only had a tent with us. However there are bathrooms and showers that cost $2 per day to use on the same road. Its not realistically in walking distance but it's definitely handy if you're staying a couple days. Hands down the best camping spot I've ever been to and I would recommend it to anyone. Can't wait to go back!

Quiet, serene location but still close enough to everything you want / need (groceries, restaurants, mountains, lakes, etc). Incredibly kind, helpful and responsive host and very clean, welcoming home that came prepared with the necessary amenities and more. Highly recommend.

Two downstairs lower level bedrooms each with full baths. Four kayaks available for use. Fire pit with chairs for evening gatherings. Ample separate parking.
    Private full house.
Site is at the end of the road which affords privacy and no traffic. Spectacular lake views with private beach.
  • I loved my stay at the cottage on Crystal Lake. The views are breathtaking and the accommodations were perfect. We were greeted with such a warm welcome and made to feel right at home. Everything was far beyond expectations! ...Wonderful hosts, amazing place !

    Michelle2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful view over Crystal Lake. Really nice, cozy bedrooms downstairs with super comfortable beds. The landscaping on the property is wonderful and there's a sweet little beach for water access, a grill outside and a nice fire pit. You need to go up/down a steep hill to get to the cottage; I would want 4wd in the snow. We did a ladycation for kayaking and hiking in the area, both are numerous for any level. This would be an ideal cottage for a family that likes to play in the water.

  • We spent Memorial Day weekend at David’s place. It was the PERFECT getaway. The house is a quaint, clean, and efficient lake home. Upon arrival, David had everything unlocked for us and he came right up and met us. He made sure we knew if we needed anything to let him know. He also came and checked in later in the evening to make sure everything was going okay. The house itself has 3 bedrooms, all with their own baths, which was perfect for our 3 couples. There is a beautiful deck and plenty of room to hang out. The kitchen has everything you need, along with a grill. However, if you want coffee, bring k-Cups because there was only a Keurig machine and we brought coffee grounds. David was kind enough to leave a few k-cups for us to use though! We spent our days on the lake where we were hoping for some better fishing, but we were warned the fishing isn’t great there. However, we did catch a couple trout, some BIG bass, and a perch. The fire pit out back was the perfect place to spend our evenings. The house is very affordable, especially when splitting it with others and you can’t beat the location. It is at the end of the road with very few other houses, so other than the owners we didn’t have any traffic. The lake is also quiet, which made for a relaxing and fun weekend! I highly recommend renting David’s house! We will most definitely be going back in the future!

Enjoy nearby hiking, mountain biking, and golfing at some of the most beautiful courses in the northeast. The cottage offers lakeside privacy with a large yard bordered by privacy hedges. Easy access to water.
Cozy 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and new sleeper sofa (2018) in living room - sleeps 6 (maximum capacity). 1st bedroom has queen bed and 2nd bedroom has two twin beds. Sleeper sofa in living room will sleep two. Two kayaks are available for use.
  • Our stay at Lake Willoughby was amazing, the accommodations were as listed, the views AMAZING and peaceful! The ability to use the kayaks and have a nice little yard to have quiet mornings and nights by the fire was perfect! We would definitely return for another get away! I forgot a bag and Molly was super helpful and responsive and it was shipped the next day! Great hosts and communication! Our entire family as well as the two dogs enjoyed our stay!

A private in-law apartment in this lovely country farm-house sitting high above Sheffield, VT. At the center of Vermont's Northeast Kingdom, you are conveniently located just a short drive from all of the Kingdom's attractions and amenities. Quiet and private, the site offers a peaceful retreat from a busy lifestyle, yet close access to all of Vermont's recreational activities be they athletic, artistic, or passive.
We are fifteen minutes from Burke Mountain and East Burke Village, the Kingdom Trails, St. Johnsbury and Lyndon. Looking for water? It's a short drive to Lakes Memphremagog, Willoughby, Crystal, and Caspian. Greensboro, home to the famed Circus Smirkus and Hill Farmstead Brewery is only 30 minutes away.
On Top of the Kingdom sits atop one of the higher elevations of Sheffield with long range local views of hay fields, farm lands and mountain ranges. Set back from a quiet country road, passing vehicles are a rare sight or sound, and the evening sky is awash with starlight, uninterrupted by ambient street lights.
  • Excellent place. Really cosy, with all you could ask for and a MASSIVE TV. Super nice and welcoming people. The location is beautiful and worth the trip up the hill.

  • Me and my two brothers stayed for a weekend snowmobile trip and had a great time. The house is exactly .5 miles from the trail, just a short skip up the side of the road. This place is spotless and in a beautiful location. We had a pleasant surprise of some homemade zucchini bread that went great with our morning coffee. Next time I travel to the northeast kingdom I will definitely be staying at Terry’s place.

The Kent family cottage is located on the shore of Lake Willoughby which is touted to be the finest lake in Vermont. We have a new Honda 5 HP motorboat and a 17-foot O-Day sailboat. The 750-foot private beach may be the finest in New England for an inland body of water. The cottage has been totally renovated to maintain the ambiance of the early 20th century. The cottage is private and secluded as is the beach. Both command beautiful views. The cottage faces the sunset and the beach the sunrise.
Our cottage has been in the family since 1906 and has undergone 30 years of renovation from roof to electric to painting (each year) and restoration of original furniture. Guests are enthralled with the ambiance of the early 20th century, and we have received many fine reviews, mostly listed on homeaway.com with 5-star ratings. We have many returnees which generally start the season half reserved.
The Town of Westmore is very modest with a Community House, Town Clerk's Office, Church and the Westmore store with ample supplies, gas pumps, boat gasoline and an ice cream bar. Two mountains border the lake and the shoreline of Mt. Hoar probably has not changed in the last 5000 years. Mt Pisgah on the east side of the pale is popular for mountain hiking and offers grand views from the summit.

The apartment is a lovely space right above the Craftsbury General Store. It is quite large with a full living room, dining room, kitchen, deck, and two bedrooms. The building is from the 1850's so it has beautiful floors and high ceilings along with some funny little quirks that give it personality. The store is open below from 7am to 8pm and has just about anything you might have forgot or be craving!!! Make yourself at home here!!
  • Probably the best combination of location and value for those looking to have a fun getaway near the outdoor center. Having the general store downstairs is a big convenience and hanging out and listening to the locals yak it up about rural Vermont livin' is a hoot. Any sociologists or anthropologists will especially dig this rental. My only complaint is that when I tried to text Tiffany about the incredible culinary aroma wafting from her side of the building I didn't get immediate response. We were all drooling outside her door for a minute before realizing that might be a weird encounter if are host happened to open her door at moment. If you want to cross country ski for a weekend in craftsbury you should stay at this Airbnb.

    Addison2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Tiffany’s place is bright, spacious and cozy! What a treat to stay above the general store too. So convenient. I recommend staying here:)

    Deborah2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Our second stay, this time for a week. We love it there; comfortable, convenient, relaxing. Gorgeous antique house, nicely furnished and updated. Good and well-equipped kitchen; we enjoyed cooking all week. Comfortable beds, and plenty of heat. I had zero cell service, but the wifi was great. Having the general store downstairs is fantastic; lots of great local products. This corner of VT is a mecca for cheese and craft beer, and Emily stocks a very nice selection. It is an old building, and you get to hear what's going on downstairs, starting from when the kitchen crew gets in at 7am. But they're largely a happy bunch, with excellent taste in music :) - we found it fairly pleasant. And they are such excellent bakers! If they make cinnamon rolls, you absolutely need to snag one. Very convenient to Craftsbury Outdoor Center, about an 8-10 min drive. The Village Trail comes within a hundred yards of the store, so can also ski right from the store.

    Philip & Lauren2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our time in Craftsbury. It’s a great location and a very cozy Airbnb. Clean, comfortable, and had a great kitchen for cooking. Plus the general store is right downstairs if we needed anything. Would definitely stay again!

    Miriam2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Check in was very simple and the apartment was sparkling clean. The place itself is really neat and spacious and could easily accomodate a crowd. There are a number of thoughtful touches like extra towels, live plants, and guides for local activities. Being right above the store is also super convenient. I would recommend this place to anyone and I 100% will be back to visit.

    Amy2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Emily's place is spacious and comfortable and has everything you need. It is above a store so you can just run down and get whatever you need in terms of food/drink. The beds are comfortable, too. Great place!

Our home, situated on 50 acres of pristine Vermont forest, was originally built in 2001 and renovated in 2018. The land on which it is built has been in our family for 3 generations and features sweeping vistas of beautifully forested Vermont mountains. Lounge on the large wrap around deck as you barbeque your favorite meal, enjoy a beverage, take in breathtaking sunsets! This is a great place for families.
Our work takes us around the world, but we cherish our visits back to the Vermont's Northeast Kingdom. The house sits on land which has been in our family for 3 generations. It was built in 2001, and designed to be a respite from our busy lifestyles. Our priority has not been to make it overly luxurious, but comfortable and relaxing.
Glover is a great location, is centrally located with easy access to Hardwick, Stowe and Waterbury, all 40-90 minutes away. Historic Curriers General Store just 20 minutes away and stocks food including a natural food section including local produce and Vermont sourced beef. They also have an extensive wine and beer selection and excellent deli. Across the street you’ll find the quaint Busy Bee Diner—a cozy place seating 10, serving amazing home-cooked breakfast and lunch. Parker Pie simply can not be missed while you’re in town. The place serves amazing homemade pizza and other dishes and has a big selection of microbrews on tap, sports on television, the world’s friendliest patrons and staff and a family friendly outdoor picnic dining area that oozes Vermont charm. Oh—the other place you can’t miss the famous Hill Farmstead Brewery. This place was voted the best microbrewery in the world a few years ago. Hill Farmstead also has fantastic barbeque to match their excellent microbrews. There are many golf courses nearby, plus the #1 Golf Course in Vermont as rated in Golf Magazine, Jay Peak Golf Club. Burke mountain, also nearby by attracks skiers (winter) and mountain bikers and hikers (summer) and often hosts music and food festivals—worth checking out. Other nearby attractions include Shadow Lake, with its very own sandy beach , the famous Craftsbury Nordic Center, famed for cross-country skiiing and outdoor winter sports. “If we don’t have it, you don’t need it”. That’s the slogan for the famed Willey’s General Store, located in nearby Greensboro. It’s the quintessential New England experience general store, with its ingeniously stocked hardware store (where you can get your fishing license (and advice), local produce, and, yes—Vermont syrup. Greensboro is also home to Lake Caspian, with its dedicated “beach”, ice cream stand, and frisbee-friendly park. Last, but certainly not least, Glover is a short 3-4 hour drive to a the fabulous Canadian city of Montreal, and 6 hours to Quebec. So in addition to Vermont’s natural bucolic beauty you can also sneak in a quick semi-European vacation to round out your experience!
  • Nice and Cozy home tucked up a hill with amazing view of Vermont's mountains. The home was very cozy with plenty of bathrooms, great kitchen set-up for cooking, and very warm fire-place. Garage space is also available if you find yourself booking this space in the winter and need to keep your car from being snowed in.

    Joseph2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • The home was spotless, beautiful and the views are exponentially better in person. At one point we locked ourselves out and the hosts came and let us in. We can't thank them enough for their hospitality and excellent communication.

  • Beautiful, clean, welcoming home with spectacular views no matter the weather or time of day. Plenty of space to share with friends, room to roam, dog friendly, and good amenities. The owners are friendly and easy to work with. A few miles before the house expect dirt roads. Keep in mind you’ll be in a rural area, so remember to have food on hand. If you’re looking for a home away from home where you can connect with nature, Caroline’s home is the place to be!

    Joshua2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • If you’re looking for peace and quiet, look no further. The gorgeous property Is meticulously maintained and really adds to the experience of the beautiful scenery. Mountain vistas and unbelievable sunsets feel magical. The house is wonderful, very clean and has everything you need. We cooked amazing meals every night and always found the kitchen equipment that we were looking for. My wife and I can’t wait to come back!

  • Great view, swingset and open yard for kids, ample bedding and towels, well stocked kitchen, toys, grill, strong reliable wi-fi, open house, stays pretty cool in summer even without air conditioner, bring a sound maching if sleeping downstairs as it is quite loud if people are upstairs, quiet/private area, rural, Glover and Barton are nice small towns 20 mins away, Shadow Lake beach is free and easy 15 min away, Elsie is great with communication, easy check-in and check-out.

    Leigh2019-08-23T00:00:00Z

  • I confess after seeing the last review about the location, communication and the house view, i was a little bit concerned especially knowing that i was arriving late night. I couldn’t find a better place or a better host then Caroline. She was amazing. The communication was great. I’m so happy that i choose Caroline’s place! The view is breathtaking for someone that lives in the city waking up every morning with that view, can’t forget about the sunset too!! Im simply amazed by her place. I can’t wait to go back for fall foliage!!!

This simple home is the place to go to unwind, turn off your phone, and breathe. Very private, yet close to many amenities, it’s steps to the local cross-country ski and bike trail system. A 5m drive to the Craftsbury Outdoor Center and 45m to Stowe, this place is also close to many places to downhill ski, kayak, etc. Not your style? There’s a range of local artists, breweries, and restaurants nearby, including Hill Farmstead, Barr Hill Gin, and Lost Nation.
Built many years ago, this home has recently been renovated inside and out. With one wall of windows (it's a passive solar place!), the house is open-concept with a mudroom, kitchen, dining/living area, bedroom, and bathroom. There’s also a large deck outside, blueberry bushes to pick from, and acres to explore.
Craftsbury is well-known for many reasons. Besides Hill Farmstead and the Outdoor Center, we are close to Pete’s Greens, Jasper Hill, Sterling College, and the Highland Center for the Arts. Although the town population hovers around 1000, we are proud to support a thriving K-12 school. Located on a picturesque common area, the school is surrounded by a post office, library, and church. A two-minute drive from the common takes you down into the village, where there are two general stores, a town hall, and a garage. It is truly a small, idyllic New England town.
