  • Beautiful house with fantastic facilities. My family stayed at the property for a celebration and everybody had a wonderful time. We had children with ages ranging from 6 to 14 years, and also had a couple of young lads aged 20 and 22, but this property made it simple to keep everyone happy. A well equipped kitchen and excellent dinning area enabled us to hire a private chef that came to the house to cook an evening meal rather than eating out. Surround sound in the lounge, fabulous and very secluded jacuzzi and sauna and lots of seating made the evenings relaxing and fun. Bedrooms were very comfortable and plenty of bed options with enough bathrooms to feel private. We also used the Spring Barn which was equally well equipped and added a great extra hideaway for the those of us that needed an escape occasionally! Gill was a fabulous host and I couldn't recommend the property enough.

  • We rented both barns for a belated Christmas get together. It was really important to us that the accommodation would suit three generations and it did ! We were met on arrival by Gill and immediately made to feel completely at home. The barns are both very well appointed with everything you could possibly need, in fact my husband managed to cook a delicious Sunday lunch for 10 ... no mean feat in an unfamiliar kitchen. The sauna and hot tub were a wonderful addition as were all the games, particularly Jenna which caused much hilarity! Thank you Gill for such a wonderful stay, we would definitely return and wouldn’t hesitate to highly recommend the property to anyone wanting a thoughtfully presented, versatile place to stay.

    Polly2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • Gill is a super host. I ran a wellness retreat at the Threshing and Apple barns on the weekend and couldn't of asked for a better space or host. We had everything we needed. Complete ease of service and very comfy. Would book again. X

  • We had a great stay at Threshing Barn with the whole family - well equipped kitchen and lovely big lounge. We also loved the spa and the sauna.

  • Booking with Gill was great from start to finish. Quick responses to all our queries and offered great advice about the local area. When we arrived the barn was decorated for Xmas and there was a home made cake waiting for us. Would highly recommend staying at the Threshing/Apple barn.

  • A lovely place to stay with comfy beds and comfy sofas. Kevin and Dave were friendly and welcoming and Kevin was fast to reply to any communications. Kevin was helpful when it came to advice on what to do locally and brought us some lovely bacon when he visited a farmers market. Thumbs up. The hot tub was an added bonus and was lovely to soak in of an evening. It takes a bit of commitment to keep stoked and get hot, but it was completely worth it. (It's not a bubbling one)

    Craig2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Its definitely worth it

    Alexandros2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay with our family here. One of the cleanest and most spacious air b&bs we have stayed in. A log heated hot tub is a real luxury especially on a winters evening with a glass (or bottle) of wine and Kevin couldn’t have been more welcoming or accommodating. Lots of space for our little ones to run around and I imagine it would be even more special in the summer. We went to a pub in Langport and Somerton, both were great and we would thoroughly recommend and hopefully will stay again!

    Jon2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Had such a wonderful time here. The space is perfect, lovely comfortable bed, great shower and the open plan living room is great. The wood burner is a lovely addition and we used this a lot during our stay as it was very chilly outside! It really heats up the room quickly. The location is great also, lots of lovely surrounding fields and close enough to local amenities. The best part of our stay was star gazing in the hot tub, this really was magical! We hope to return again soon!

    Emma2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you Kevin for a lovely stay off grid! The hot tub is huge and so lovely to be able to sit out and look at the stars

    Kerrie2020-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had an absolutely amazing stay. The chalet was great, nice and spacious and a good space for our two toddlers to run around. We also made use of the wood fired hot tub which was brill!

  • Janie the host was wonderful and the place really needs to be experienced. I can't recommend it enough. We loved it..

    Kate2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Had a terrific stay! Loved the place and Janie is a very respectful host.

    Jack2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, would recommend to anyone, just bear in mind you do have to step outside for a second after having a shower before getting back into the room so if you are staying in the winter months it may be worth bringing a thick dressing gown or something similar. The room was comfortable, clean, and unique, and the hot tub is a great bonus!

    Zaeed2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed here for valentines day and couldn’t of chosen a better place. The cabin is beautiful and very cozy. Hot tub and log burner was amazing and just completes the experience. Very close to alot of local attractions e.g Glastonbury and Wells. The host Janie couldn’t of been nicer or more helpful , gave us a tour of the place then left us to our privacy , however we never felt like we couldn’t contact her for advice no matter the time. All in all a great place to escape from the world for a few days.😊

    Glenna2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Very well put together and stylish cosy cabin. Hot tub on a cold evening in February was truly wonderful. Host was easy to get along with, helpful and full of local tips but also gave us plenty of space to feel private. Great stay.

    Emma2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely little gem only a stone's throw away from Glastonbury. The ideal location to unwind and relax with a great host and use of the hot tub and treatments. A must return.

  • Thank you Gill for having me and my family over the weekend; i could not have asked for a better place to stay, it was absolutely perfect for the one year old right to my grandparents! It was so lovely to be in such a open planned home where all the family could be together at once and still feel that you had space! The spa was amazing and we all left feeling so refreshed. The place was perfectly clean and everything was there that we possibly could have thought of! This place has made us have such special memories and we could not have done that without you and the effort you put into our stay. We had every single bit of information about the place prior to arriving, and lots of information was provided to us about local places to visit and takeaways ect. The location was perfect and was so nice to get away to a quiet area with beautiful views . The beds were super comfy and showers were immaculately clean! My grandma was over the moon with the beautiful cake you provided for us too on arrival!! There is not one thing I would have asked to be different! It was simply perfect and beautiful. Thank you so much to you and your partner for helping us create more amazing family memories! We would love to come back in the future. P.s “spice gallery somerton” .. best Indian takeaway I have ever had!!! 5 star food hygiene great service and beautifully tasting food!

The women loved spending time in the spa whilst the men played pool. We also took a trip out to Harry’s cider tasting which was brilliant and well worth the money. • We have recently stayed in a number of big houses, and this has been the best booking by far. The property looks exactly like the photos, however, what the photos can not really show is the combination of openness and togetherness, alongside having private space. This house works really well the table seats 16 people and everyone can hang out together, in the kitchen and or in the lounge. However, there is still enough space for you to be able to get away from each other as well. The rooms had flexibility regarding doubles or twins and everyone's bed was super comfortable. The spa facilities were delightful and made the house feel extra special. The setting was very tranquil and we felt well cared for without any intrusion. Thank you for the perfect stay, we feel lucky to have stayed here and hope we get the opportunity to stay again.

  • This was an absolute gem of a find! We had a really friendly welcome. The cottage itself is lovely and clean and super cosy! Some great walks from the property for dogs! Location was brilliant and you could walk into the local village in 10 mins and Langport only a short drive away. The hot tub was a really nice touch! Would definitely recommend!

  • Paul was the perfect host, from the minute we arrived we were treated with the best hospitality. The venue exceeded everyone’s expectations and was perfect for the hen do we had planned. The food was fantastic! I cannot fault our stay we will most certainly be back and I could not recommend more! Thank you Paul

    Charlotte2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely place with lots of things to do. We would love to return when the weather improves and make use of the lovely outdoor pool and facilities but the hot tub was fantastic. In the evening we made use of the separate ‘party area’ which was lovely. Paul lit the wood burner so we all sat down and ate together or had a dip in the tub. Lyme Regis is fab for a day out, fresh fish and lovely shops. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

    Kerry2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect place for a hen party. Super accommodating host (Paul), very friendly and on hand to help with any queries. So many great little touches - fires burning on arrival, massage chair, karaoke, hot tub ...the lists goes on... Fantastic value and location.

    Jacqui2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Paul was a lovely, laid back host. He made sure that the fires were lit to keep us warm out in the party house, and was always available if we needed anything. The place itself was amazing and is simply the perfect location for any event/occasion (we were celebrating a 21st birthday). I would not hesitate to book again!

    Chloe2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • 12 of us headed down to Mistletoe Farm for a hen party in January and it could not have been more perfect. The location was beautiful and we had a lovely countryside walk to the Haymakers pub nearby. The venue itself was amazing - beautiful buildings, nice clean beds, everything we needed. Our favourite was the bar/party room which was well stocked and had great touches such as the disco lights and karaoke machine. The log burner kept it nice and cosy and there was plenty of space for us to chill/dance/eat/party. Paul and his family were excellent hosts - a great mix of tolerant (!) attentive, but not at all in the way, and good humoured. They made a delicious curry for our dinner - the onion bhajis especially were a huge hit. He kept our fire burning and seemed to be so pleased that we were having a great time in the surroundings he'd created. We're already plotting an excuse to head back down in the future, if they'd have us - be it for another hen, a family get together or just a countryside retreat. Wonderful, flexible venue and hosts!!! Thank you so much, the hen and the rest of us had the best time.

    Joanne2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • We all had the best time here, 10 of us visited to celebrate a 30th. Paul was the perfect host who was there when we needed him, then let us have the place to ourselves the rest of the time! He was so helpful showing us round and so relaxed around setting up the rooms with decorations to make it an extra special birthday. The party rooms are separate from the sleeping areas which makes it really to host events here and the hot tub, party room with kareoke, sauna and bar were real highlights. Could not recommend this place more for hosting birthday or group celebration!

    Natalie2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place - outstanding hospitality from Paul, always happy to help and making sure the fire(s) were lit. Pool/hot tub/sauna excellent and clean.

Located in the heart of the beautiful Somerset levels, we are surrounded by historic Somerset villages, Curry Rivel, Muchelney, Drayton and Langport. We are 20 minutes from Millfield and Taunton Schools, the well known shopping village of Street and Glastonbury Tor is definitely worth a visit. There are national trust homes to visit as well as Cidar farms, Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole. Beautiful walks and cycle rides along the river of Langport where you can stop for lunch at the cafe on the river. There is a village stores just yards away and a small Tesco’s, award winning bakers and butchers in LAngport 1 mile away where, on a Friday morning, is the village market and fish van who brings fresh fish straight up from the south coast. All in all there is plenty to do and see in the surrounding area.
  • We had such a lovely stay! It is the most beautiful location and stunning interior of the stable block. The highlight was seeing 6 deer hopping through the grounds from the window! Jenni provided lovely little touches in the fridge and all the kit for our 1 year old which was of huge help. Everything was immaculate and in perfect working condition - the comfiest bed ever and the most luxurious bath, only wish we could have stayed for longer! Thank you.

The Lodge on the Green is situated in the rural village of Curry Rivel in the heart of The Somerset Levels. Its picturesque setting on the Village Green next to St. Andrews Church makes the perfect getaway for a quintessential country escape. It is a self contained purpose built timber clad lodge full of rustic charm. As you enter the lodge you're greeted with the wow factor of the spiral staircase leading to a mezzanine bedroom level with incredible views of the surrounding countryside.
The lodge offers a fully equipped kitchen with everything you need for your stay including double oven with grill, fridge with ice compartment, dishwasher, Belfast sink, toaster, kettle, tea & coffee supplies, local & fresh breakfast items. The wet room has a rainfall power shower with separate handheld shower alongside. The luxury soft designer towels benefit from the heated towel rail and don't forget the underfloor heating makes it very cosy stepping out of the shower. The mezzanine bedroom level is home to a king size French rattan bed with incredible scenic views through the large apex window. You can relax on the L shaped sofa whilst tuning into your favourite TV shows on the 43" flat screen TV. The interior look and finishing touches have been created by local interiors enthusiast Kate Macey who featured on the TV series "The Great Interior Design Challenge". Kate's style is very warm, cosy and country with a modern twist taking influences from all over the world using bright and vibrant splashes of colour to bring the place alive. Relax and enjoy yourself in the Jacuzzi Hydrotheraphy hot tub whilst taking in some fresh country air.
Curry Rivel has a lot to offer being the home of award winning pub The Firehouse Somerset, just 1 minute walking distance, open 7 days a week serving lunch, dinner and take away stone baked pizzas, along with some amazing local ales, ciders, creative cocktails and delicious wines. Well renowned teashop Living Pretty serving breakfast, lunch & afternoon tea is a stone's throw away. The Lodge is only 12 miles from the county town of Taunton which has all the amenities you would require. Other places of local interest feature Glastonbury (14 miles), Clark's Village (12 miles), Wells Cathedral (20 miles) and the coastal town of Lyme Regis (25 miles). If you fancy going further afield for the day both Exeter and Bath are 40 miles away which are both well worth visiting with their stunning architecture and history.
  • We absolutely adored our time at Lodge on the Green for our Babymoon! Kate was amazing and greeted us upon arrival to run through everything we needed to know. The lodge was beautiful and spotless, and the attention to detail was stunning! Highly reccomend

    Daniella2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Kate is absolutely lovely and her place is stunning! Beautifully decorated, clean and romantic! The hot tub made for a really great evening dip and the local area is definitely worth exploring (including great wood fired pizzas at the Firehouse next door!) We can’t recommend Kate’s place highly enough for a lovely break and romantic getaway!

    Dimitri2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • An Amazing place to relax and unwind.

    Steve2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • A gorgeous modern & stylish lodge with beautiful views. Everything you need for a comfy stay, the local pub is less than 5 minutes away & the pizzas are great. Ed & Kate were helpful throughout & provided personal touches to make our stay even more enjoyable. Thank you so much.

    Sam2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Couldn’t recommend more. The lodge is stunning; built and finished to high standard. Set is the quite country village of Curry Rivel. We ate at The Firehouse which we would also recommend for good quality food and cocktails. The lodge is very well equipped, and the finishing touches make this lodge a beautiful and highly recommended place to stay. A fresh loaf, eggs and coffee from a cafetiere were unexpectedly provided for us to make breakfast, as were towels and plastic champagne flutes so we could make the most of the extra-large Jacuzzi. The hosts are extremely hospitable, providing lots of information about the lodge and local area and, of course, privacy. Personal favourites were the mezzanine bedroom, rainfall shower, view from the apex window and the artistic design throughout the lodge. We stayed for one very conformable night and couldn’t find fault

    Ashton2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The lodge is stunning. We felt very at home and comfortable and had a quiet night's sleep. Kate was a fantastic host, a welcome book was provided with all information on the lodge and local food and drink options. We enjoyed an evening in the hot tub. Thank you Kate!

    Matt2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay, exactly as described and more. The little touches are thoughtful

    Justin2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Communication up to the arrival was spot on,quick responses and full of details. Upon arrival we were greeted with breakfast for our stay which was a very nice touch. Facilities were first class with the kitchen compromising a cooker and hob, dishwasher, kettle (including tea and coffee). The lodge itself is modern, clean and very well equipped. Under floor heating ensured the Lodge was always warm. A spiral staircase leading to the bedroom. The views from the bedroom are amazing, especially if your awake at sunrise. The bathroom is well equipped with a rainfall shower and complimentary toiletries. Leaving the lodge you are met with a well lit path down to the hot tub. Very spacious and was a nice touch during our stay. We bumped into Ed on our first night, very friendly and made sure we had settled in OK. Kate had recommended the local pub called the Firehouse, which she made us a booking for. The food there is amazing! During a walk into the village we called into the tea room, also recommended by Kate. The fresh scones are out of this world and a stay at the lodge wouldn't be complete without one. The only down side to our stay was that we didn't stop longer. Can't fault Kate and Ed as hosts. Would definitely rebook at the lodge.

Entire, spacious, unique home all to yourself (while we are away travelling). Welcome to our informal, welcoming, cosy, comfy, clean, 1930s house. On the edge of a lovely village in beautiful rural Somerset. Sit around the outdoor firepit, or relax indoors by the woodburner, on our squishy sofas. Sunbathe in the garden while you listen to the birds ... We have no tv, wifi or microwave! Plenty of great books and music. The perfect rural-but-not-boring getaway with NO CROWDS!
Our cosy home is on the edge of a small village, with good-sized gardens to relax in, and days of countryside walks on isolated paths and tracks. Supermarkets deliver to this address. Lots of takeaway and delivery food available too. Located in an area that offers a real slice of old England. Endless lanes, meadows and tracks all around for walking, running and cycling. Suitable for holidays or for longer stays for work, etc. Just ask us if a longer stay is possible. Close to us are stunning historic villages, a fantastic ancient cider farm, really special local gastro-pubs and award-winning cafes, historic mansions and gardens, Cheddar Gorge, the fabulous Roman city of Bath, and the world famous Glastonbury town and Tor. Our home is unique, bright, light, informal, comfy and has two great double beds, a woodburner, outdoor firepit and garden furniture, rural views - in the summer, enjoy them from the bench under our huge walnut tree. Help yourself to organic produce from our trees - sweet cherries in June, juicy plums in August, crunchy apples in September, and fresh walnuts in October. Take a stroll to local farms to pick up some free range eggs and veg and just drop your payment in the honesty box! Tip for best pubs: The Devonshire Arms in Long Sutton for a superb meal; The Firehouse is a stunning place to wine and dine and meet the locals, in our village (10 mins walk away) and it has a great reputation, the newly renovated Lamb and Lion at Hambridge, the newly renovated Drayton Arms at Drayton, and The Rose and Crown in Langport for a unique old style pub. Tip for best cafes: Award-winning Living Pretty, in our village for great meals and cakes at a good price and in a great retro style; The Stables cafe, in Fivehead (check online for opening times); Art Tea Zen is a groovy cafe in Langport. Also in Langport is the fantastic Kitchen at the wharf (they have a bakery in town too). There is also a brilliant retro health food shop in Langport, a Tesco, post office, and the wonderful gift shop, Florin, is the most charming place to buy your holiday souvenirs. Tips for the best alternative food shops: Langport Stores, or the health food shop in pretty Somerton. Get up when you want and either take a hearty, healthy breakfast at nearby Living Pretty cafe (5 mins walk) or bring your own treats to cook in our home.
Our neighbourhood is rural but not isolated. It's in a very scenic, old part of South Somerset, surrounded by ancient stone villages, old cider apple orchards, country pubs with gardens, several unique cafes, and other places of interest - discover the willow weaving centres, the Parret hiking and biking trail, Langport glass blower and art gallery, Burton Pynsent monument, a gorgeous 5 mile circular walk right from our home. So much to see and so if you feel like it. Our house is a great base for attending local sporting events such as the famous Langport Walking Festival (https://www.ldwa.org.uk/challenge_events/show_event.php?event_id=17455). Also for cycling events (https://www.sportive.com/events/tour-of-wessex/2018-05-26/3754/cycling). Our area is great for birders - we have an RSPB base just down the road on The Levels, which are known for migratory birds in the autumn as the water rises across the marshy levels. We love the local artisan cafes and quaint pubs that are hundreds of years old. Highly recommended is our local award-winning cafe, Living Pretty and their sister business, the famous Firehouse gastro-pub. There's a wholefood shop and artisan bakery in Langport. We love daily walks in the lanes and meadows, a meal, or coffee and cake in Langport, (best is The Wharf, and Art Tea Zen) or a drive to Glastonbury, Bath or Stourhead. Our neighbourhood is very clean, quiet and safe. There are lots of arts, cultural, village, rural and sporting events throughout the summer. Lots to see, do and join in with!
  • Thank you, we really enjoyed our stay in your lovely home! We loved the country walks and the local pub too. Kitchen facilities had everything we could have wanted and the wine and welcome note made a lovely warm, touch.

Probably one of the most romantic Shepherd's Huts you will have the opportunity to stay in, nestled in the grounds of Midelney Place, with views across the rolling Somerset countryside. Although you will feel a million miles from anywhere, you have the added bonus of being only a mile from Tescos in Langport for emergency supplies. You can enjoy 100 acres of parkland with barely a soul in sight except for our family who will keep out of your way but are here to answer any questions.
The Shepherd's Hut is a brand new addition to our extremely popular Stable Cottage. It has a pull out double bed with goose down duvet and pillows and 100% linen, sumptuous towels for when you step out of the heated shower. The hut has its own hob, fridge, wood burning stove and toilet so you can be fully sufficient. Adjacent to the hut is our new bell tent equipped with two sofas and soft luxurious rugs in front of which is a large fire pit for cooking or just keeping warm. As if this isn't enough, we have also purchased a big exterior corner sofa for dry sunny days or evenings to lounge on and take in the view. Enjoy cooking on our fire pit where we will leave plenty of logs for you to use. Enjoy a leisurely breakfast which we will provide including eggs from our very own free range hens. Enjoy watching the wild deer and our horses queitly grazing in the paddocks surrounding the hut. Take a stroll around the grounds possibly accompanied by one or two spaniels, not to mention a ridiculous Gt Dane. Staying in the Love Hut will be an unforgettable experience that hopefully you will remember for years to come.
Midelney Place and our surrounding villages are historic and facstinating to visit. You could never get board touring this beautiful county The breathtaking countryside and views, the pretty quitisentially English villages, local pubs, cafe's and restaurants. Climbing Glastonbury Tor is a must and a lot of people enjoy a trip to Cheddar Gorge, Bath Spa, Wells Cathedral, to name a few. Millfield School is just 20 mins away so we are an ideal stop over if visiting for open days or matches. We are also a popular stop if travelling to Cornwall as we are exactly halfway from London/Surrey to Lands End. Our photos of all of our listings do not do them justice, you have to see to believe but I promise you will not be disappointed.
  • Lovely space, the hut was well equipped, clean and we arrived to a lovely fire. The house gardens and surroundings are incredible. Definitely recommend a stay. Great place for an escape.

  • Don’t think twice about booking this place! So cute, clean and cosy. The location is fantastic, close enough for pubs and shops but still feel very tucked away. The hut is gorgeous, so lovely with the fire and bed is comfy! The finishing touches (such as the best lemon drizzle cake) from Jenni are so lovely too. Would 100% recommend and we will definitely be back!

    Jamie2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing find! If you're thinking of booking this absolute gem of a place, don't wait a moment longer. It's exquisite and beautifully appointed. Made to feel incredibly welcome. Recommend The Firehouse for a lovely evening meal. We will most definitely return!

    John2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Had a little trouble finding the place as the directions provided on airbnb took us to a wrong place but we have managed to find it with Jenny's help. Sadly the yurt was destroyed by a storm but the Hut was amazing and we still loved it and the grounds around the property are stunning as well. Well worth the money, would definitely recommend.

    Sandra2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here for a New Years getaway and can’t recommend it enough. Jenni was a great host who quickly responded to any messages and welcomed us with a slice of cake! The hut was fantastic and was exactly as described. Clean throughout and with a wood burner on, it was very warm and cosy. Facilities were great for the space and we greatly enjoyed the eggs from the farm along with other little breakfast bits. We’d definitely stay here again and would highly recommend those wanting a more rural retreat give it a go. One tip - pack light. As expected in a shepherds hut, storage space is limited!

    Mark2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • The hut is lovely! A stylish space with lots of thoughtful touches and amazing design with the pull down bed. Beautiful views and walks and a tasty dinner at the local pub made for a wonderful last minute stay and Jenni could not have been more helpful. If you are umming and ahhing about staying please book you will not regret it.

    Jasmin2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Unforgettable experience for couples, a truly romantic glamping that everything here is beyond expectation and deserve to be recommended to everyone. but let’s just keep the secret to the cute ones who find it here himself/herself.

    Ziyuan2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Such a peaceful and relaxing space - beautiful grounds and with everything so well thought through by Jenni. The hut is surprisingly luxurious, complemented with the yurt and outside sofa for extra lounging space. If you're looking for somewhere to spend time away as a couple, I can't recommend this highly enough. We will certainly be back!

Beautiful light little shepherds hut. Such a colour-fest! Cosy and bright. Very secluded. Tucked away by a tranquil pond surrounded by green fields. There is a little wood burning stove, a fold out floor mattress and an outside swinging seat by a pond. We have a shower and toilet available but access requires a walk across the field. There is power (to charge your phones etc) by the showers and a lockable space if you have bikes We don’t provide bedding or towels so please bring your own : )
You’ll have the pure seclusion of the hut and fields and the woods to explore and wander around. There is also a lovely garden to explore, meditation garden to enjoy and bathroom facilities you’ll have access to.
Zen out in this magical place. It’s quirky colourful nature fest. Great place to really connect with the beautiful surroundings.
  • The Shepherd Hut is a unique place to stay. We had an amazing time. If you’re looking for a peaceful and quiet spot, this is the place to go. Penny’s thoughtful touches making it truly magical.

    Anna2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful and peaceful with plenty of room to roam around. We took our dog and she loved how much space there was to explore! Would come back again for sure but next time would bring our own camp chairs as our backs hurt after a few hours of sitting round by the fire on the seating provided (Thats just us being old though!) Penny did mention before hand to bring extra padding for the bed as it can be uncomfy, next time i will definitely bring more or an air bed (again my own fault!) Lovely to wake up in the morning and have a cup of tea by the fire and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

    Milly2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • A magical little space!... We only stayed one night, but the location was idyllic and the shepherds hut quirky and comfortable.... We will definitely be back again...

  • I greatly enjoyed staying here. A beautiful location, nice wildlife around the pond, good views to be had, decent value for money, good communication from the owners. All in all 10 out of 10.

    Jamie2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had very relaxing stay away from busy city life! Enjoyed walking in the woods, cooking on fire and looking at the stars at night. We loved fresh flowers on the tables which made us feel welcomed. Our pup enjoyed running in the long grass fields! Will definitely be back!

    Irina2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • The 'Wick Hut' was the perfect place to spend some time away from home. It was almost impossible to not feel relaxed when being sat on the bench looking over the water. The check-in directions made it very easy to find even in such a rural area. I didn't even stay for a whole night and felt it was value for money just to spend an evening there. Complete relaxation. HIGHLY recommend to everyone.

    Reece2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was pure heaven. We loved it so much we added an extra night... our mind were made up within minutes of arriving. Gorgeous little haven with everything you need to relax and recharge. We took our own mattress and bedding (as recommended) and some extra bits for cooking and eating. I really cannot fault the space, the log burner made for lovely cosy evenings and the firepit is perfectly set up for cooking. We spent a glorious sunny day on the swing watching the dragonflies and surrounded by beauty. We will most definitely be back.

  • We had the most wonderful stay at Idlers Cottage. The cottage is beautifully decorated, warm and welcoming with lots of thoughtful touches that made us feel right at home. It is perfectly situated - a couple of minutes away from the local pub and shops. The delicatessen was my favourite place, the cakes were delicious! Thank you to Charles for being so attentive and making sure we were comfortable. We look forward to returning in the future.

  • Myself and my husband stayed for two nights at Idlers Cottage and it was AMAZING. The cottage is beautifully cosy, fit for purpose and has a lot of extras. The cottage was spotless and there was lots to do including tv, wireless, WiFi for our internet, movies and playing cards. Charles himself was an excellent host, giving prompt responses and was very flexible regarding check in. We are considering coming again so we that we can explore more in better weather. We would definitely want to stay here again. 5 stars

Atherstone Farm Cottage is a beautiful and newly refurbished grade II listed thatched cottage in the tiny hamlet of Atherstone in Somerset, two miles from Ilminster. Its rural location and carefully restored interiors make it a great countryside bolt-hole. Both bedrooms are ensuite, one with a roll top bath and shower, the other a walk-in wetroom / shower. The house also has a modern kitchen, with a separate utility room, and a large stone-floored living and dining room with a wood-burning stove.
With a stone floor, ancient beams and thatched roof it's the picture of a romantic country cottage, but now updated with a modern kitchen, bathrooms and entertainment system. Its rural location makes it a great escape for those looking for a countryside bolt-hole, with plenty of pubs to walk / cycle to and things to see and do nearby, and convenient shopping in Ilminster is not far away. There are two comfortable bedrooms, both en-suites., with deep mattresses, 400 thread count cotton bedding, indulgent mattress toppers and fluffy bathrobes, so you can truly settle into the cosiness of the cottage. The master bedroom has a king-sized bed and a spacious bathroom with a roll-top bath and walk-in shower. The second bedroom can be arranged as a superking-sized double or with two single beds. Its bathroom is a walk-in modern wetroom with heated stone tile floors. The house has a large living area for four people, with a long dining / sitting room. The sitting room has comfortable sofas, a wood-burning stove set into a large stone fireplace and is equipped with a 55’ flatscreen internet-connected TV with a Bluetooth soundbar that can be used to play music / radio through the TV or from a Bluetooth device, or just envelop those who want to relax with a movie. The kitchen is modern and well equipped with an electric oven, hob and dishwasher. There is a separate utility room with a large fridge-freezer (including ice-machine) and a washer-drier. There is also good-sized private lawn, a charcoal bbq and teak outdoor table and chairs for the summer (or the hardy!)
Atherstone Farm Cottage is part of an old grade II listed farm that has been part of the Dillington Estate since at least 1725. The cottage is found at one end of the farmhouse - with the other half of the house also available to rent as a separate 4 bed house. The two are joined through lockable doors on the ground floor for the convenience of any groups renting both. The farm is in the tiny hamlet of Atherstone, which is surrounded by fields and woods that are accessible on foot and bicycle through the myriad of local country lanes and footpaths. Nearby there are several pubs, some within walking distance – like the Barrington Boar – others a little further, but worth cycling or driving to, such as the Dinnington Docks or Lord Poulett Arms. Barrington House, a National Trust house with gardens open to the public, is nearby, as is Dillington House. The Dennis Chinaworks in Shepton Beauchamp are also very close and worth a visit, for the tea rooms as much as anything else. There are several local cider producers whose orchards and presses are worth seeing, Perry’s Cider in Dowlish Wake being one, and Julian Temperley’s cider and cider brandy distillery over at Burrow Hill another. A little further away the beach at Lyme Regis and walks along the Jurassic coastline are 40mins or so to the South, and the Hauser and Wirth gallery near Bruton is 40 mins or so to the East.
  • Lovely cottage in one of the prettiest areas we’ve visited in the UK. The house itself is immaculate, spacious, and charming. Really appreciated the heaps of firewood for cozy evenings around the living room as well as private garden for breakfast in the sunshine. Great local suggestions as well, we had an excellent lunch at the Lord Poullet Arms nearby.

    Jessica2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is a stunning property and it’s one of the cleanest I’ve stayed at, everything is perfect. There’s a fantastic log burner and a big basket of logs for you to burn. The decor is wonderful, everything is really tastefully done. Loved the bath robes and the toiletries that were provided. The Barrington Boar is a very short drive and it’s a really great pub. We went to the Lord Poulet too which was great. Make sure you go to Pips Railway Cafe because their breakfast is to die for and it’s kind of quirky eating in a railway carriage! I would not hesitate to recommend this house and only wish I could move in!

  • Atherstone Cottage was amazing, quiet, clean and beautiful. We felt at home from the minute we walked through the door and had a very relaxed and enjoyable weekend stay. We particularly loved the log burner, the authentic stone floors, the original wooden doors, coupled with the modern luxurious decor. We can’t wait to come back for longer next time!

  • Wonderful property, comfortable & quiet. Wifi strength is variable. Common area is marvelous with fireplace to keep you warm. Beds are truly comfortable & firm. Location close to delights of Ilminster and supermarket convenience.

    Lesley2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Atherstone Farm Cottage was a lovely place to stay. Set in the middle of nowhere down some narrow lanes, you really felt away from it all. Facilities were great, despite the farmhouse being rather old! The low beams won 4-2 in terms of days when I hit my head, but that just added to the charm. Check-in was easy (via a key safe), and they texted to say that we were able to check in early, which was a nice touch. Nearby pubs and restaurants were very nice, with particular mention of the Lord Poulett Arms and Pip’s Railway Cafe. (Don’t trek all the way to The Pig, though. We were disappointed). All in all we had a really good time and can recommend the cottage highly.

    Karl2019-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely place to holiday and the facilities inside the cottage were ideal. There are a lovely range of walks and places to visit nearby and some of the local pubs provided some excellent foods as well as being dog friendly. The two ensuites are perfect when two couples are sharing the Cottage. The Dillington Estates were good at providing information and responses to questions regarding our stay.

  • Lovely to meet Alan & Taffy , two of the most honest and trustworthy people you are ever likely to meet . They give everyone the benefit of the doubt before anything else . Always thinking the best even when its obvious to the contrary . This was a reply to a previous guest who went well and beyond the realms of fantasy in their recollections of a stay I was witness too . They should be banned from airbnb in my opinion after the trauma they put these lovely, lovely people through . I very much enjoyed my stay in the single bedroom which actually was bigger than the picture gives a view of. I found the bed extremely comfortable and found sleep easy . The room was warm and yes the bathroom is downstairs but not a hardship . Tess the dog extremely friendly and a good old soul . No malice in a bone in her body . We watched tv discussed current affairs , politics and religion . All subjects I try and steer away from . Everything was in light and good humour and they welcomed you to their home with open arms . Thank you for the lovely stay from a grateful guest

The room is very private and has a double bed, large wardrobe, desk, and a comfy chair. It has its own patio/garden with large doors and blackout curtains (for an amazing sleep any time of the day). The toilet and shower are just outside the room and are rarely used by anyone else. The room has a 24" TV with Netflix and Amazon Prime (no terrestrial TV), which can also be used to browse the Internet or watch YouTube videos.
A very quiet and relaxing atmosphere to recharge and start a new day.
The house is in a very quiet neighborhood (dead quiet at night and most of the day) and in front of a large green area - which is also the view from the lounge's windows and balcony.
  • Comfy bed and the kitchen has everything you need to cook up a storm.

  • Niss is a very welcoming and lovely host and very thoughtful leaving cupboard space in the kitchen and use of all amenities if required. The bedroom was a good space including a desk which I used for work and the bed very. Shower was power shower and all were very clean. Very light due to the patio doors which can be used as a private entrance if preferred. Good location for Street and Glastonbury. I would recommend.

    Suzanne2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • the house is nice, the host is very welcoming, the place is quiet, with good bus communication, and a sidewalk that leads to glastonbury, the town has everything, places to eat and ... and it was the cheapest place we found, A great value. I recommend it.

  • My partner and I stayed at Johnny's place whilst we were in the area for work and leisure. It was in between Yeovil and Glastonbury for us which suited us perfectly. It was easy enough to find, he met us on arrival and helped with our luggage, showed us to our room which was spotless and very comfortable and stylish. With our own very clean en suite, it was the ideal room for a stay away. We had all that we needed and it was an added bonus to see Johnny's lovely bunnies :) would definitely return again in the future. Thank you so much, Gina and Leon

The large living area/bedroom has a double bed (with simba mattress), sofa bed, tv & patio doors to your own small outside space. The kitchen has everything you need with its own dining area. You also have your own private shower room.
Creech St Michael is set in a lovely picturesque traditional village with beautiful canal walks just across from the property as well as a local shop, pub, post office and village hall. Wick Farm is set on the edge of the Somerset levels just outside Langport,…no flooding! Staying at Wick Farm is a treat for the senses with all its artefacts and bold sense of style, which you can preview in more detail on my website (website hidden). Outside, more visual delights can be seen as often the Cranes fly over and the Starlings migrate in the autumn/winter months; both of which should be one of the wonders of the world....... The house is on three floors, 3 twin rooms and 2 doubles. 10 can sleep comfortably but more than 8 might be a bit of a squeeze in the kitchen and sitting room. There are 2 en suite bathrooms and one shared bathroom with a hip bath, as well as a downstairs cloakroom. There is a well decked out kitchen for foodies with aga ,along with many cook books to browse. When the sun is shinning there are plenty of outdoor lounging and eating areas to enjoy. We are situated in 25 acres of beautiful farm and woodland, with abundant, well-tended veggie patches, flower gardens and plenty of fruit trees, crumble hedges and a nuttery. You are welcome to pick whatever is in season. The outdoor heated pool is open from 1 May to 31 September. It is always an extra £50 per person per night over 6 guests. We only accept bookings for 3 nights over English bank holidays and the other 3 mention above. WELCOME The house is easily accessible from a small country road, with off street parking. A warm welcome from my wonderful team will help you get settled in. Allie will give you directions and access codes prior to your visit and Base will be on hand to welcome you and provide any info you might need. I am often abroad but available too (website hidden) as I would love to share my enthusiasm for this beautiful hidden part of the world. I have renovated the barn next door which I or my sons sometimes stay. The closest town is Langport – a small town with all major amenities (food stores, Post Office, Bank etc) and some little cafes and shops. Visit Glastonbury, and the many other attractions; English estates and gardens, castles, abbeys and more. We are between 3 main train stations Yeovil, Castle Cary or Taunton and there is a great bus from Hammersmith to Ilchester. You could do with a car if you want to explore the area, or stay home have your food delivered and start being rather than doing. The house is old comfy and cosy built in 1606 – a Welcome Pack will be available on arrival for your use to make sure you can do everything you need. Dogs are welcome as long as they are well-trained, friendly and okay around sheep. Guests are expected to collect and remove poo themselves.

  • Wick Farm is the most wonderful quirky interesting place to stay where around every corner and in every nook and cranny there are the most amazing things to see. A perfect place to spend my 50th Birthday with dear friends and family. All of us there felt as if we were in a family home rather than an Airbnb. Set in sumptuous grounds we couldn’t wish for a more perfect place and intend to return. The manager Sian was so lovely and welcoming and couldn’t do enough for us.
