Places to stay in Cromer

Places to stay in Cromer
Charming former fisherman's cottage; minutes from the wide sandy beaches and centrally located in Cromer town centre on a quiet road. Fully modernised with central heating and original features perfect for cozy winter breaks and summer holidays alike. Private park space two mins walk away.
A chance to stay in a listed former-fisherman's cottage in a prime location in the centre of the town. Full of character; the cottage is the perfect place to unwind helped along by walks along the beach and for the brave dips in the North sea. Close to amenities and good local pubs; everything is on hand for a relaxing break. The cottage has been awarded 3 stars by Visit England. Note although the cottage sleeps five it is more suited to 4 adults than 5 as the third bedroom is very cosy and there are only 4 soft seats in the living room.
Cromer is a great place to be based to discover North Norfolk or alternatively just stay local and enjoy the wide sandy beaches, white cliffs and Victorian pier.
  • Great cosey stay. Would recommend.

  • An amazing location & a cute & cozy cottage awaits you....absolutely charming

  • We had a great stay in Lauren’s lovely cottage. Great location, minutes from the sea, and Lauren was a brilliant and communicative host. Local recommendations in the property guide were brilliant too!

  • Lauren’s lovely cottage was the perfect place for our family of 4 to stay for a few days and explore Cromer and the north Norfolk coast. We loved the cottage- you’re staying in a part of Cromer’s maritime history. The cottage is compact but warm and cozy and comfortable with sufficient kit to cook and eat a decent meal. The location is as perfect as you could want- quiet but right by the town centre with nice places to eat and drink within less than a minutes walk (The Gangway for drinks, Nash falafel place, the Thai restaurant, the Red Lion cosy friendly cliff top pub, grey seal coffee all great, all moments away). The cottage is at the top of a short path down to the beach and seafront walkway and 5 mins along to the pier. Lauren’s communication was great and meant zero stress arriving or leaving and there is plenty of information in the home about local things to do. Thanks Lauren!

  • We had a lovely weekend stay at Lauren's cottage. It's brilliantly located in the centre of town with a parking space just a few minutes' walk away. It was very clean when we arrived and we liked the homely feel.

  • Lovely cosy cottage in central Cromer with great sea views from the main bedroom. A really good base for exploring the area.

    George2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great cottage - very close to the sea. Met all our needs - a group of 5 accommodated easily. Place restored and transformed beautifully and well managed and a pleasure to stay in. Stairs steep though after a night on the town! Great notes on history of house and area and ideas on what to do (and not to do) in area thoughtfully provided and well presented. Ease of communication was effortless. Well recommended.

    Bram2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay in Lauren’s lovely cottage in Cromer which is perfectly positioned for the town and beach and exploring the surrounding area. Lauren left us some thoughtful treats which were very appreciated. We stayed with our 2 children and all had a great time. We really hope to stay another time - thank you Lauren

The Good Shepherd, located in the seaside village of Overstrand is just a 3 minute walk to the beach and 1 mile from the Victorian fishing town of Cromer. The Shepherds Hut is situated on a secluded plot at the side of our property, overlooking flower beds and exotic shrubs. The hut contains a comfortable double bed, log burner and mini fridge. Outside is a separate heated shower-room, small private lawn, fire pit & bbq. Ideal for a peaceful retreat, perfect for couples and lone adventurers.
  • Mim's Shepard's hut was the perfect getaway. It is very stylish and cosy with everything you could need - log fire and beautiful shower included. There was more than enough room for two people and the White Horse pub down the road does tasty food! We walked from Cromer to Overstrand along the beach and back again along the cliff tops- beautiful scenery. Highly recommend staying here!!

    Anna2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great couple of nights here. The place is thoughtfully decorated and very cosy, even on a wet and blustery February weekend (Loo trips had to be times to avoid the rain). Overstrand has a couple of cafes and a decent if rather soulless pub. Cromer has lots of facilities and if, like me, you come on public transport, is a 30 min walk or short bus ride away. My only comment would be that it would be brilliant if more fuel could be provided for the small yet very effective burner, especially on such a chilly weekend. Also note that there is no phone signal, at least not on O2! Overall a lovely, comfortable and very relaxing couple of nights. Shame it wasn’t longer so I could have delved into the excellent book selection provided!

    William2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great couple of days staying in the hut! Nice comfy bed and loved being so close to the beach. 😊

    Emma2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Very cosy, even in storm Dennis. Totally recommend.

    Olly2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This place was lovely for 2 for a quiet weekend away (there was no phone signal which might not be ideal for everyone but we loved it - we were planning a phone free weekend anyway!). Bit nippy when we arrived but it was February in Norfolk after all, and once we got the log fire going it was so cosy. The little touches were great too, and we used the 'walking in Norfolk' guide for a walk on out first day. Would recommend!!

    Ellie2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Firstly location wise it is great! Very near the sea and near to the corner shop and pub. Can walk to Cromer in 30-45 minutes along a cliff top walk or on the beach. The hut is very nice and cosy. Very stylish place. Got a tiny bit chilly but had the log burner and radiator to keep it warm. Would recommend bringing a few layers if coming in the winter months, but is all part of the fun of it. Some nice walks both to Cromer but also inland to north repps which we found in the walks in Norfolk book found in the hut. The white horse is a nice place for dinner or one of the many places in Cromer!

    Wiggy2020-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • Really nice little place to stay for a romantic retreat, in a great location with great hosts!

    Joe2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Very cute hut - perfect for a couple looking to relax! Everything was clean, bathroom is really nice, location is great and it's nice and private. Would recommend!

The thriving high street offers a wealth of independent stores, coffee shops and places to eat. • Little Gem is a cosy, warm and well equipped modern space close to the sea and in a great location for exploring North Norfolk.

    Marion2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Absoloutely gorgeous. A very well located dwelling situated in the heart of the town and minutes from the sea. Beautifully decorated inside and lots of extra little touches for when you arrive. Everything was easy to find during our stay and a well equipped little home.

    Louise2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic stay! What an incredible space Little Gem is. Such a sweet, cosy yet modern place to stay. Location is great. Lots of places to eat/drink. Little Gem has everything you need, you could just turn up with a change of clothes! Kitchen & bathroom kitted out with everything you need. Extremely clean. Alison was in communication with us lots and provided a wealth of information. You won’t be disappointed if you stay.

    Louise2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic place to stay. Very clean with lots of tips on where to go and where to eat. Great location just off of the High Street and is situated two minutes from the beach in one direction and the station in the other. Not much in Sheringham is open late in the off season (November - March) but there was plenty of places open in nearby villages if you have a car, or in Cromer, which was only a very short and cheap train ride away.

    Robin2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Little Gem is well named, it is very small! But that's part of its charm and Alison has somehow managed to cram in everything you're likely to need. It's a great place to stay for a visit to the north Norfolk coast, being in the heart of Sheringham means it's very close to some good local pubs, cafes, and restaurants and a short journey away from the other towns and villages along the coast.

    Steven2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Little Gem is just that, a compact but beautifully formed haven in a nice little seaside town. The ‘house’ is very clean, warm and well equipped. The linen is lovely and the bed comfortable.

    Wootton2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely little place (little is the word). Very clean, everything you need and right in the town centre so close to everything.

  • I booked Sarah's place as a weekend mini break for my parents and their cocker spaniel. They had a wonderful time, found it very relaxing and peaceful, and haven't stopped talking about it since! Everything was easy to organise, and Sarah went above and beyond to make their trip memorable.

  • This two nights break was booked as a surprise Christmas present for my parents. Sarah was amazing from the day I booked and all the way through the stay, even sending a gift certificate so I had something to give my parents on Christmas Day. My parents had an amazing time and couldn't comment anymore highly about the decor, generous welcome goodies and Sarah's hospitality. They are keen to return and I will be booking a stay for myself!

    Rebecca2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Expect everything and more! Couldn’t fault it for anything. Beautiful interior, everything you need is there and location is great :) we will be coming back!

    Alice2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah is an amazing host, with such a great attention to detail. We had a lovely trip away with our fur babies. We saw the seals and their pups, explored the beautiful Norfolk countryside, stumbled across Lord Nelsons birthplace and enjoyed a dog friendly Christmas Market in Creake Abbey. A great little holiday if you love your dogs and want to spend some quality time with them, lots of great walks and a lovely cosy cottage to relax in afterwards. Love from Amie, Dan, Tilly (Westie) and Miley (Cocker Spaniel)

Historic WW2 Lookout with exceptional cliff top views, now our quirky but totally unique home which is available when we are away. It is set in secluded woodland with private parking. It’s 300m from the beach plus 10 min walk into town along the coast path. There is a terrace with BBQ and front garden with direct access to the clifftop steps to the beach. It is small but it has 4 linked rooms that sleep 4 with a kitchen, shower room and ironing board.
The original building was erected in 1942 as a very solid World War II Lookout and listening post. It was modified for use by the coastguard after the war and it is this flat roofed structure that remains relatively unchanged to this day: even the concrete fence posts are still in place! The main room has stunning panoramic sea views on 3 sides through the original slanted WW2 bronze windows and from here there is a door on to the terrace. As there is no separate sitting room this main room contains a single bed which can be used as a seat when not in use. There is also a dining table with 5 stools, 2 high chairs at the windows and one armchair. The kitchen leads off the main room and has a small oven, microwave oven, halogen hobs, a fridge freezer, a dishwasher, a copper water filter, a kettle and a toaster. From the kitchen stairs leads down to a linking room containing a single bed which connects to the main bedroom which has twin beds that can be converted to a double. The shower room is "wet room" style and access is off the link room. It has an electric shower, WC and heated towel rail. There is a TV, new electric radiators and free unlimited high speed Wifi. There is direct access through the front garden onto the coastal path with steps close by leading down to the sandy beach just minutes away. At the back of the property there is a woodland footpath which leads to The Lighthouse and The Royal Cromer Golf Course. It is a mere 5-10 minute walk into the centre of town along the promenade. Cromer is a quintessential British seaside holiday town which boasted many famous visitors in its Victorian heyday when people travelled by train to enjoy the coastal scenery and take restorative dips in the sea whilst breathing in its famously clean air. Many of the historic buildings remain and it has a pier with an active lifeboat station and the Pavilion Theatre. The beautifully renovated sea front has been brought right up to date with the addition of the Glide Surf School & Cedar House Surf Shop and the North Norfolk Lifesaving Club. It is a great place to learn to surf or try stand up paddle boarding ( SUP ) in flatter conditions plus you can watch the more experienced surfers surf the big North Sea swells all year round.
Cromer is a quintessential British seaside holiday town which boasted many famous visitors in its Edwardian heyday when people travelled by train to enjoy the coastal scenery and take restorative dips in the sea whilst breathing in its famously clean air. In short The Lookout is a wonderful beach front retreat with a sense of history, breathtaking views of the coast, fresh air, delicious local seafood, dark skies, birdsong where you can listen to the sound of the sea yet you have all the benefits of being part of a unique and historic English coastal town.
  • The description says it all. This is a unique place to stay. We spent a lot of time looking out at passing ships. Walking alone the beach, just enjoying simple pleasures. A great place to get away from hustle & bustle.

  • The Lookout is the perfect place to unwind. We stayed for a long weekend in November and it was a tranquil bolthole, ideal for watching the world go by or wandering on the miles of beaches. The lounge space is just stunning with views on 3 sides of the room whilst being private with the height of the windows. Emily’s place has everything you need and she’s got some great recommendations for local places to visit.

Our studio apartment is close to the beach, woods, town centre and parks. It is light, airy and spacious, set within a semi-wooded garden. It is in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It has level access so is suitable for wheelchair users, although the drive is gravel.
The studio offers a spacious, open-plan living space with kitchen and dining area. A good size bedroom and separate shower complete the accommodation. There is underfloor heating throughout, with oak flooring. A cot and highchair are available on request. There is also a garage space if required.
North Norfolk provides fantastic opportunities to explore, including National Trust properties and beautiful sandy beaches. Further afield, are the Norfolk Broads and the fine city of Norwich.
  • I had a lovely time at Jill’s. Her husband built the house on his own and I really liked the architecture too. You can enjoy the sunshine in the morning and warm floor heating at night. Jill was always ready to help you too. Thank u very much!

Cooks Cabin is 10 mins walk from the beach and the town. The cabin is decorated in a seaside theme and would suit families there's a small outside space with table and chairs.

  • Fantastic location to walk into Cromer. Great private entrance, with parking space and outside space. The caravan has everything you need, small but cosy. We stayed during storm Dennis, and there were no problems at all. It's really sheltered and was so warm. Amanda is a great host and responds quickly when needed. Great value for money. We will be staying again.

  • A lovely caravan with some quirky touches. Despite the time of year we were lovely and cosy and had a nice break for my birthday.

  • A very handy, clean and spacious place to stay. Great value for money; it is the second time I have stayed there.

  • We searched for Airbnbs in Cromer and this one attracted our attention. Its a 10 minute walk to the town and a bit further to the train station but we had tickets for the christmas show on the pier on the Friday evening and tickets for the Wolves V Norwich match on the Saturday so it was very handy for us for both occasions. The van is absolutely beautiful and clean with a big comfy bed. We didnt actually meet Amanda but we met her friendly husband. All the directions were spot on to find the van and the instructions for access and so were the instructions on how to switch on the fire and the tips for leaving the heaters on when we went out and overnight were also useful and it was a bit chilly

  • This is a fantastic home away from home place to stay for my mums birthday. Perfect for families with children or perfect for couples , (or mother and daughters with their dog:) ) The little touches, like the welcome basket with treats and the cleanliness of the house ,made it very refreshing to arrive to. The garden is great and there was plenty of house space for the 2 of us and our dog. So great to find a lovely dog friendly place to stay. Great cut through at the end of the street to walk your dogs to the sea front and also very close to the shops. The house is fresh and modern and the artwork is a real treat too. Onsite parking was appreciated. We took advantage of the welcome pack and the places to visit . Very quiet and a pretty housing area. Lots of household items to help with your stay. The dvd selection was fab and the games in the cupboard would be great for families. Also, even though we are on holiday, we like to tidy up , so the cleaning appliances and items were a great help. Finally, the hosts are fantastic. Fast to answer any queries and made the stay very memorable. Will gladly go back in the summer to enjoy this home again. ( if they will have us :) ) Thank you for a great stay.

The location is really good with the beach and Pier a stones throw away. The room was cozy and clean, although there was some traffic noise till about 11 pm as we had left our windows open. Susan had also provided us with breakfast, all in all a great place to stay with value for money.

    Varun2019-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • It was really lovely staying at Susan’s house; Susan is a wonderful, friendly host and her home is situated perfectly for exploring Cromer. We only wish we had had more time there! Highly recommend.

    Katherine2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, clean and spacious room and an amazing host. Susan made sure everything I needed was there, from breakfast to extra duvets in case it was cold in the room. Her hospitality and the vibe of the house made me feel comfortable right away. It's a nice neighbourhood. Quiet, yet close to the beach and the shops. Better than some of the hotels I've been on my trip. I'd definitely go back here next time I'm in Cromer.

    Iona2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • This flat is situated right in the heart of cromer, literally a minute from the sea. The flat itself is bright, spacious and airy, decorated in a modern style and well equipped. (The shower was one of the best we have encountered on our trips!! ) We didn’t have a car with us and it was only a short walk to the station. I cant comment on the ease of parking because we didn’t need it. You couldn’t do much better for easy access to beach and cromer attractions and the late night co- op just downstairs was v useful! We were out of season so it was relatively quiet about town and some shops especially had moved to shorter opening hours but not a problem for us. I suspect it is a lot busier in the summer months. The beautiful beaches make for an easy walk (especially at low tide) to either Sheringham or Overstrand or you can take the coastal paths for a more rigorous one. Plenty of walks in the area so take your good shoes and get out. No shortage of cafes either for tea and cake!

    Cindy2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful and very spacious flat with open plan living accommodation. It is also extremely well situated for the town amenities and sea front.

    Tim2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice, right in the centre of Cromer with great access to surrounding locations. Will be booking again.

    Natasha2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • What a great place to stay. Right in the heart of Cromer opposite the parish church, the flat has a light airy feel due to the large windows and the fact that it looks out onto a large square around the church (no bells chiming through the night!). You can just see the sea in two directions (only two minutes walk away), and all shops and coffee shops are on your doorstep. It was surprisingly quiet at night, with the occasional car roaring down the high street or group of people chatting outside - so if you are a light sleeper worth bringing your ear plugs. The flat is very comfortable, very spacious and has all the equipment you need to make it a great base for your holiday. The hosts' communication was excellent, and little things, like the supply of tea and coffee, made one feel welcome. We'd highly recommend it as a base for exploring the beautiful north Norfolk coast.

    James2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Large, bright and spotless accommodation in a perfect location in the middle of Cromer. Very well equipped - couldn't have asked for more.

    Paul2019-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely spacious flat, great central location in Cromer, with fascinating views from the window, if you like people watching... and the many cute dogs... you will leave wanting to get a dog, if you haven't already got one!

    Charlie2019-06-06T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very spacious one-bedroomed flat with high ceilings, and a modern feel. The location is fantastic, as it is right in the centre of town, not far from the front, and next-door to a supermarket. The bed is very comfortable, the flat is clean and welcoming. The workspace, eating area and relaxation areas are excellent. The kitchen is well-equipped. All in all, a very high quality place to stay.

  • Charming seaside cottage. Clean, dog-friendly, and with everything needed for an enjoyable winter break in the peaceful and friendly town of Cromer. The steep narrow stairs could be a problem for some; the availability of unrestricted parking nearby was a minor inconvenience.

  • The cottage is a great location, good local pubs. We enjoyed lovely beach walks in both directions overstrand and Sherringham. Dont be put off by the parking we found parking in the recommended roads, and didn't need to move the car for the entire weekend. Even if you need to use one of the public parking facilities it's worth it.

  • The location is very central and the cottage has everything you would need for a few days away. Check in and communication were fantasti. We reported a faulty heater and the response was immediate with an offer to fix it the same day. Outstanding service! Parking nearby is impossible but expected in such a central location. We dropped our stuff off then found a parking space (we have a baby so don't travel light).

  • Me, my husband and our 3 year old stayed here for a week and it's just like the photos, a great little place to use as a base for our adventures. We have affectionately called it our "upside down house" as the bedrooms/bathroom are in the basement. It had everything you could need, including WiFi, Netflix, dishwasher, washing machine etc. We even made use of the cool box for a picnic and a crab bucket for fishing. There's lots of information on what can be done locally and Annette was quick to respond to any queries I had beforehand. The only downside we had was that we visited in a heatwave and the living area was extremely hot on an evening, which couldn't be helped...but there was a fan provided to help us cool down. It's a great place, clean, tidy and well worth a visit.

  • Perfectly located within a quick walk of the town centre and sea in Sheringham. A perfect space for a weekend or short break. The lodge has been very well thought out in term of layout and has everything you would need for a self-catering stay. Lots of little thoughtful touches left around the lodge for arrival. Staying in the run-up to Christmas, was lovely to have a tree and some decorations as well.

  • A lovely place to stay. The house has lots of little touches that make it a delightful place to relax. Mandy is really helpful and always quick to respond. The location is perfect! 2 minutes and you are on the cliff path and only a 10 minute walk to the centre of town. The house is sparkling clean - I can't recommend enough!

    Kathy2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • A smashing place to stay. Spotlessly clean, lovely touches. Everything you need for a stay in Cromer. Stick your walking shoes on and walk the cliffs, beach or into town. Cliff Lane Annexe had everything we needed. It was so comfortable I didn't want to come home.

  • Great little place, very stylish and comfortable in a very handy location, yet so quiet and peaceful. Terrific place to retreat for a while.

    Chris2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • I really liked the location and the peace and quiet - just what I was looking for. I was really impressed by the high standard of the Annexe, both in terms of amenities and finishing touches.

    Matthew2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed staying at Mandy's place. We had everything we needed and the place was stylish, warm and cozy. Location was also perfect! We'd love to come back again!

  • Great spot. Modern and very clean. Great communication.

    Ged2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Couldn't have wished for a better host or property. The annexe was absolutely spotless, but cosy and homely. We felt comfortable and at ease as soon as we stepped through the door. There was plenty of storage space and plenty of coathangers! Which is one thing that frustrates me in a hotel. Everything we needed was available.. mugs, glasses, plates, bowls, cutlery, cooking instruments, appliances, milk, teabags, coffee.. the list is endless! The annexe is only a short walk into the town, be it by the road or the cliff top scenic route.. we enjoyed walking around seeing what we could discover. Over all this stay is 10/10 as is the host.. would absolutely stay again and recommend to friends and family. Thank you Mandy & Co for having is!

    Lizzy2020-02-24T00:00:00Z

  • Very nice and cosy place for a perfect seaside retreat (as it is literally a few steps away from the beaches)! The apartment is furnished in a nautical theme with lovely details which will make you wonder around the gallery right downstairs. Unfortunately we missed the opportunity to meet our host Kate personally, but she was very easy to communicate with and really set up everything in our comfort (especially arround the times of arriving and leaving). I would want to highlight that the kitchen is very well supplied. Big thank you!

  • We booked very last minute to stay at Kate's place in Cromer and were so glad we did. The booking process was seamless and Kate's communication was spot on. When we arrived, later than we had plan, the place was warm and the lamps glowing, which made it very welcoming. Kate had also left a little parcel of treats which was very much appreciated. The space is perfectly located in Cromer and you can see the sea from the lounge window. A lovely couple of days, topped off with the sun shining in March.

A stylish and modern Apartment in a great location with sea views and parking, if you're looking for light and bright you've found it with this sunny apartment. With great views, you can enjoy whilst relaxing in this lovely, quiet apartment. The furnishings are designer, the beds super comfy with a kingsize in the master bedroom and all mod cons are to hand with unlimited wifi and Freesat TV. All this within a few minutes walk of the traditional seaside town of Cromer and it's blue flag beach
Sea view and style combined, a great place for young families, the kids always LOVE!! the second bedroom, and couples alike. With a kingsize bed in the master bedroom and bunkbeds in the second bedroom it's perfect for a couple or young family. Please don't miss the additional rule that this apartment is only suitable for two adults and two children under 12 due to bunk beds in second bedroom.
The Apartment is located on what is considered to be the best road in Cromer. It is in a period property which was built in 1901 for an Indian Prince as a his seaside residence!
  • We had a great stay. Fantastic location and spotlessly clean with all the facilities you need.

  • The apartment was located really well for walking to Cromer. Sarah, the host, communicated well with us and was lovely on arrival. The apartment was clean and suited or needs with two young children very well. We hope to return.

  • We really enjoyed staying in Sara’s flat. It was clean and comfortable and the cot and high chair were really helpful. It was only a short walk to the beach and into town. We would recommend it as a great base for a seaside holiday.

  • I booked this accommodation for a surprise birthday weekend away with my partner and his 6 year old daughter. He knows the area, and I wanted somewhere within easy walking distance of the seafront and pier. We were not disappointed. The hosts were helpful and flexible with our later arrival, and provided ample information on he area for those less familiar. The accommodation was well presented, and clean and had all the basic things you need when away from home (shower gel, toilet rolls, washing up liquid etc). The children’s bedroom was a real hit with the bunk bed, and we have already even asked if we can come and stay again! Thanks for a lovely weekend.

    Charlie2019-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful apartment with all the things you need! Lovely area, great for children or couples, me and my partner walked around the beach where there are some great places to eat, arcades and a pretty little pier. Cromer isn’t the best place when it comes to nightlife but don’t let that knock you! The mornings and lunch time make up for it! Also if you get the chance visit Amazona Zoo, perfect for young families as it’s not huge and overwhelming just enough animals to feel content. Massive thank you to Sara for being a lovely host and super helpful, 100% recommended

    Tabetha2019-05-07T00:00:00Z

"Without doubt the best airbnb experience we've ever had." Our cabin is perfectly located for a memorable coastal break. Set within our wonderful garden, the cabin has a king-sized bed, TV and sofa. It doesn't have running water so guests use the bathroom facilities in our house a few steps away. We provide a choice of delicious breakfasts. This lovely retreat is ideal for beach and country walks, trips to nearby attractions, local pubs and restaurants...or just a peaceful relaxing getaway.
We have a lovely home close to the sea, including our garden cabin which is set up to provide accommodation for our guests in this fantastic location. The cabin is set up as a bedroom and sitting area. It has a comfortable king-sized bed, a cosy sitting area with a sofa, TV and a wardrobe/drawer for your clothes. Clean bedding and towels are supplied as well as dressing gowns and crocs for your use. There's a smoke alarm to increase your safety. Tea and coffee making facilities are also in the cabin and a microwave and mini-fridge close by. It doesn't have running water so guests use the downstairs toilet/washroom and upstairs bathroom with walk-in shower in our house, a few steps away. If required, we can provide a simple to use and hygienic portable toilet for discreet use in the cabin. The cabin sits in our wonderful gravel garden which we love and there are places for our guests to sit and read or just watch the world go by. We provide off-road parking meaning your car is only a few yards from the cabin. As hosts, we will help you feel welcome and this includes providing breakfast, ranging from a full English fried special to a choice of cereals and yogurts. And we've got five out of five hygiene rating from the local council. We look forward to meeting our guests, whatever their background or age, and helping them get as much enjoyment from staying here as possible, with our first-hand knowledge of visitor attractions, and those places less popular but just as special.
Our accommodation is only five minutes walk from beautiful sandy and unspoilt beaches where you can stroll along the clifftops or by the sea. • A tranquil little cabin in a beautiful part of the country. I can't believe how quiet it was! Some of the best nights sleep I've had in quite some time. The hosts are welcoming and warm people. I can't wait to go back.

  • I had the most lovely stay at Paul and Amanda's cabin. They are both so welcoming and kind, and made me feel immediately comfortable and at home. The cabin is so cute and cosy, and only a two minute walk from the sea. Breakfast was delicious and the whole stay was a perfect balance between solitude and nice company! I arrived without a car (train to Cromer and then a walk along the beach) and it worked just fine. Thanks so much Paul and Amanda, I look forward to visiting again!

    Sian2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Amanda and Paul were fabulous hosts. Me and my friend were both vegan and they catered for our needs above and beyond, the breakfast they gave us was fantastic and they’d even left some vegan treats in the cabin, as well as purchasing some vegan milk for us both. They had great tips on where to go, eat and their communication was great too! We hope to stay again in the future.

Charming workman's cottage located close to central Cromer! Just recently renovated, the house is perfect for families, couples, or friends wishing to visit Cromer and surrounding areas. It is ideal for 4 people and is great all year round; for summer holidays, spring bird watching and cozy winter breaks. Come and relax and unwind in North Norfolk in a home away from home!
The house has recently been refurbished and includes two double bedrooms. The master bedroom features a king sized bed (which we can convert into two single beds instead if needed) and the second bedroom has a double bed, both with chest of drawers, wardrobe and bedside tables. We also have a Mamas & Papas travel cot and travel high chair available for little ones to use (you will have to set these up yourself - but they are very simple to use)! There is also an upstairs bathroom (with toilet) and separate shower room with rainfall shower. Downstairs features a cozy living room with TV, dining room and spacious, fully equipped kitchen/breakfast room with downstairs toilet. The kitchen leads to a porch area (perfect for storing beach chairs or muddy shoes!) and a sunny garden with deck area- great for soaking up the rays or having a barbecue! If you would like to bring a dog, please message me with details and we will let you know if it is possible.
The neighbourhood is friendly and very safe! There are two local shops (and post office) within 20 seconds walk from the house and some great take-aways and restaurants within a few minutes walk. The house is in a perfect position for walking/driving to the pier, beaches and shops in Cromer, as well as the restaurants, pubs and beaches a little further out of town, that require a car/taxi to get to. We have a file in the house with our personal recommendations! Royal Cromer Golf Course is around 5 minutes drive away, with Sherringham and Royal West Norfolk golf courses also close by.

There are numerous pubs, restaurants and coffee houses, our personal favourites being North Lodge cafe and the nationally acclaimed No1 Fish and Chip restaurant.
  • This is a wonderful place. There is so much space, it’s beautifully, stylishly but simply furnished with a Cromer / seaside theme. There are so many lovely touches like a stick of Cromer rock on every pillow. The beds are really comfortable with excellent mattresses. It’s really well located for the beach and also has parking which is especially useful. Can’t recommend it enough.

  • We had a lovely time in Teehan's place in Cromer. The studio and bedrooms are well appointed with every possible amenity. The place is spotlessly clean with many welcoming touches. Teehan responded very quickly and kept in touch with us. Access was straightforward. We had delightful walks to Overstrand and along the beach to Sheringham. We needed a peaceful break with walks and this was beyond our expectations. Highly recommended.

A really good base for exploring but also a wonderfully comfortable place to hunker down in when the weather's just a bit too wild outside. Excellent facilities but also a few generous extra touches of hospitality that make a real difference.

  • We absolutely adored our stay in Mark's lovely cottage. We really enjoyed the quiet location but were only a few minutes to the beach which you can walk along to get to Cromer. The coasthopper bus also came in handy to help us get around the area without a car. The log burner was a definite plus and makes the cottage feel so cozy :)

  • The cottage is absolutely wonderful. It was very cosy and had everything you could possibly need for a get away to the Norfolk coast! Mark was excellent in terms of anything we needed help with. Would definitely go back again.

  • This was a fantastic place to stay to visit the Norfolk Coast for New Year. The accommodation was perfect - clean with a lovely and very large bedroom and we enjoyed walking to Cromer and from there to Overstrand as well as having a drink in the Fishing Boat pub in the village. The hosts were really friendly and helpful and all in all it made for a brilliant three night stay.

We came out of season for summer so tip for future guests - local food outlets close quite early so best prepare or eat earlier! Fantastic stay and will definitely be coming back. Thank you Gill and Graham! The windmill is beautiful!

  • I had a fantastic week at the Old Mill Annex, which is well appointed, very clean and deceptively spacious. The location was great, being within easy reach of Cromer and nearby villages but also quiet with a private garden area. Gill and Graham were excellent hosts, providing useful information on places to visit and clear instructions for checking in.

A walk around the town is very interesting and the little museum a great place to while away a few hours. The famous Pier and beach are just a few minutes walk away, a visit to No 1 fish and chip shop is a must. You will never eat better fish and chips!! You can buy Cromer Crabs from the crab hut near the slipway to the beach.
  • My partner and I and our little dog had a wonderful stay here! I would certainly recommend and plan on visiting again :)

  • One word: WOW! This cottage is nothing like I was expecting as the online description and pictures do it no justice at all. The cottage is immaculately clean, warm, inviting and very homely. So much so that we didn't want to leave. The personal touches, the welcome and the location itself were just perfect. I could not find a single thing to fault with this venue as the hosts have considered everything guests could possibly want. If you want a venue close to the beach, comfortable and extremely affordable then look no further than Cockle Cottage - you will not be disappointed! Can't wait to visit again and stay in this beautiful place. Thanks Penny and Mike. :)
