Places to stay in Chebeague Island
A unique experience on Chebeague Island (a true island--no bridge). The Studio is a converted loft of a 135 year old barn remaining open to the raw rafters. Two bedrooms have been walled off. The rustic living area includes a kitchen and private bathroom w/shower. The sitting area opens to a large deck overlooking the ocean. Property includes shorefront for picnics, boating and swimming. It's a short walk to a large white sandy beach, the Chebeague Inn and the Stone Wharf ferry landing.
The Studio has a private well and the water is drinkable and regularly tested. The septic system is old, please do not flush any personal hygiene products. There is no garbage disposal, so please be aware of what is put in the sink. The kitchen sink drains slowly. Included are a coffee maker, microwave, toaster, range, outdoor grill, lobster cooker, pots, pans, dishes, paper products. hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner, soap, cleaning supplies, a first aid kit, iron and ironing board. Please let us know if other amenities are needed to make your stay more pleasant. We provide nutritious and fun snacks and milk. Internet, TV, DVD player, and a Donkey Kong Junior Arcade machine (set on free play) are included. Our deck has been completely rebuilt. Nonetheless, we ask that children be supervised when they play on it. The large picnic table and electrically operated awning make the deck perfect for dining or just lazy lounging. The bedrooms are partitioned off rooms with open rafters thus no sound privacy. We include a User Manual with details of the amenities and history of the property. Feel free to ask any questions and give any suggestions.
The East End of Chebeague Island is noted for its captains houses, the Back Shore (in front of The Studio), Hamilton Beach, the East End Point, and the Chebeague Inn. The short half mile walk from the Stone Wharf, ferry landing for the Chebeague Transportation Company (CTC), crosses the Great Chebeague Golf Club, a challenging nine-hole course. For the latest on local happenings, events, and local organizations, visit the "Chebeague Island News website" (can't link to it here, but a search for "Chebeague" will quickly find it for you).
  • Nancy’s Studio in Chebeague was the perfect place to stay for a weekend on the island. Nancy was very responsive to all questions, check in and check out were perfect (including van rides to and from the ferry), and she even provided a Pack n Play & baby quilt for our son. Very thoughtful amenities & snacks laid out throughout the place. Would recommend to anyone visiting this beautiful island!

  • Nancy and her husband were so nice. They helped us get all of our stuff up to the studio and were quick to communicate when we had questions. The place itself had everything you could imagine. We had such a great time riding our bike around the whole island, visiting the local museum, and having lunch on a local beach. There is a grill, with a nice porch. We ate outside for every meal and even had a small fire on the beach! Netflix to wind down at night and plenty of room to cook. We definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting to come out and visit Chebeague.

  • We love the views from the deck and the short walk to Hamilton beach. Nancy and Dave are always just a phone call away. As an artist I loved the history of The Studio. You can really relax all day l9ng.

    Marie2019-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • There are few better ways to while away a day than reading and napping while sitting in the comfy chairs under the canopy down by the ocean. The huge deck also offered an excellent view, and with the grill enabled us to relax all weekend without ever having to go anywhere.

  • The Studio is truly our dream vacation spot. My husband and I got engaged AND married on the property. Nancy (& her husband David) are the best hosts!

    Kel2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our time at the studio! It’s perfect and the best base for exploring the island! Will definitely visit again!

    Ashley2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Staying here was a wonderful experience. Being on the island is its own way of life and we enjoyed partaking in it. You'll have to come find out for yourself. The studio is very clean and quiet. The view from the deck is lovely. There were very comfortable Adirondack chairs by the shore. We enjoyed exploring the island by foot and by bike. It was a fun adventure coming by ferry. Make sure you tell Nancy and David whether you are taking the Yarmouth or Portland ferry because they arrive at different places on the island! The snacks in the studio were also great!

  • The rustic, arty space was charming and quiet with a very comfortable couch inside and a great table and chairs outside under a large awning overlooking the water. Great for sunsets and viewing the sailboats. Plenty of room for a couple of couples or kids and lots of space to spead out and make art. Very close to 2 great beaches. These are lovely people I hope to see again!

My husband and I live in this old sea captain's house on 2 acres at the water's edge. Please thoroughly read our Rooms for 8 listing to ensure you have a full understanding of guest accommodations. The Tuck-away, at the top of a secondary staircase, has easy access to the first floor lav, outside shower, and includes use of the 2nd-floor bath, well-equipped kitchen, and public rooms of our Greek Revival home built in 1873, on an island accessible only by ferry.
Our home, one of the Stone Sloop Captains' houses built in the mid 1800s, is situated on a lovely 2 acre property at the water's edge and accommodates 8 in 5 rooms on the second floor: Garden View $75-1 twin bed; Walter's Comfy Room $150-1 king or 2 twin beds and chaise; Captain's Room $125-full bed and love seat; J's Cozy Room/full bed $75 for 1, $100 for 2; & C's Tuck-away Room/twin-$63. The house is walking distance of the CTC Ferry, Stone Wharf, beach, museum, library, store and restaurants. Our property is smoke free, inside and out, but feel free to bring along your favorite beverage to sip while you sit on the back bank and watch the birds and boats or just relax in the hammock. There are flowers and trees, and a cat that lives in the owner's quarters. We have beds for a total of 8 guests in 5 rooms (3 two person rooms and 2 one person rooms) on the second floor of the original sea captain's house. Two two-person rooms and 1 one-person room have total privacy. The other two rooms, adjacent to the Captain's Room, are "pullman" style, similar to a train in that you must walk through one room to get to the next. This is perfect for a family or close friends. The first two rooms have full size beds. The third room has a twin size bed and access to the secondary staircase to the first floor. All beds in our home have memory foam toppers, plush mattress pads and at least 400 count cotton sheets. The rooms, on the original second floor, share a bathroom centrally located at the top of the main staircase. The outside shower (available April - October), private and constructed with blue stone, and a first floor lav are also available to guests to help streamline readying for scheduled events.
One can find many things to do on Chebeague Island: reading a book, taking a nap, painting, walking the roads or wooded paths, biking, sailing, climbing the rocks at Deer Point, walking the sandbar to Little Chebeague at low tide, bird watching, fishing, soaking up the sun or taking a dip in Casco Bay, collecting sea glass, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, visiting the Museum, Library and Doughty's Island Market. May through October, Ebb and Thyme, the Chebeague Island Inn, Slow Bell and The Niblic offer delicious foods.
  • Wonderful historic place, great communication, provided breakfast!

    Zach2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Mary and John are warm and gracious hosts who will instantly make you feel welcome in their cozy, well-appointed and casual, friendly home! They supply a wonderful breakfast, a map of the island, and bikes. The island is perfect if you are looking for quiet, seashore exploring. Highly recommended!

    Virginia2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • This is my third time staying at Mary's home, and I only hope I can come back soon. Mary and John are consummate hosts. They go beyond making sure your time on the island is special; they've treated me like family over my visits so much that Chebeague feels like another home at this point. I can't recommend this enough, especially if you live in a city and want to unwind and slow down. You'll keep coming back.

    Srujan2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet and beautiful corner for a lovely family. The delay was perfect and I really enjoyed my time there.

    maiyan2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Mary and John are friendly and welcoming to guests and full of interesting information about the island. Hop on a bike and explore then return to the house and peaceful cove.

    Meredith2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely home.

    Sarah2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Mary and John are extremely kind and generous and hospitable with the sharing of their beautiful home. It is an old house (I think they said from the 1830s, with lots of history and jam packed with historical family heirlooms, trinkets and pictures). The bedroom was smaller than I expected, but perfectly adequate, comfortable and very sweet. Family was very accommodating and extremely generous with their time and space. I was able to keep my food items in the refrigerator, use their bikes and beach towels. They gave me lots of suggestions about places to go and things to do. Their back yard is a beautiful garden, that leads out to the water. Overall it was a very comfortable and relaxing stay

    Sarah2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place to stay. Mary and John’s instruction (parking and ferry) were simple and clear. I was able to arrive earlier than check in but they accommodated my arrival by picking me up. John and Mary showed me around the property, suggestions, a map, and a bike. It was perfect, like staying at a friend’s parents home. Oh and breakfast was great too. I was able to cook whenever I woke up and it held me over until making it to Acadia National Park.

  • Location, hospitality, stylishness all exceeded my expectations but what really got me were Natalie & Jahn themselves. Stay here because you'll be amongst shy and thoughtful artists who fill the spacious cottage with the muted melodies of guitar and dreamy singing behind closed doors. Being around them (as fleeting as their appearance is out of respect for you) will make your heart happy and enrich your stay in one of the most beautiful areas of southern Maine.

    Leona2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Natalie and Jahn are both very accommodating and will do whatever is necessary to ensure you have a quality stay.

    Henry2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful stay! Perfect for our weekend escape. Will be back:)

    Sarah2019-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • Natalie and Jahn were amazing people and hosts. The place is extremely peaceful and spacious. Super cool, creative people. Jahn generously drove us into town...thank you! Can't go wrong on booking with them!

    Collyn2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Natalie, Jahn, and Dunkin were amazing hosts. We had never stayed in an air bnb where the hosts also lived, but this was a pleasant surprise. They were down to earth, fun, accommodating hosts. We spent our last night hanging out with them singing, playing the guitar, and talking on the deck. We will definitely stay again and also stay in touch with these amazing, talented people!

  • We really enjoyed our overnight stay. Natalie was friendly and helpful. The house was spacious, quiet, and comfortable. Our room’s bed was quite comfortable and we slept great. Lots of cute decorative touches throughout the house. Thanks so much. Would definitely stay again!

  • if you can, make sure to book this lovely space. it’s a really sweet and spacious place with so much sun and charm. i was able to travel everywhere without a car. it’s a quick uber/lyft to portland or just take the bus that stops three minutes from their place. they have a schedule. it’s super easy, cheap and brings you into the center of portland. my bed was so cozy and the shower was great. coffee and bagels and cereal in the morning, they even managed hot coffee when a storm knocked out power to the entire town. so thoughtful and warm, i felt at home and slept like a baby every night. if you can, book this for a maine stay and say hi to dunkin for me. :)

  • A great stay! The place was beautiful, easy to find, and very “home-y”. I would definitely stay again! Thank you, Tami!

    Sara2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Cute and cozy space super close to Portland and coastal Maine towns. The big yard was great for our doggies. We ate breakfast at nearby Maple’s every morning (got the tip from another review)—so yummy!! The heat works really well and very quickly! Overall, a great stay!

    Maria Isabel2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Tami's place is a perfect getaway with fabulous amenities. You have everything you need here for a relaxing stay. Loved the layout of the kitchen and living area. Comfortable bed too. • Very thoughtful host with an easy to use, homey space. Perfect for a work trip!

    Barbara2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend Sean and I stayed in this Airbnb for 11 nights while he was up from Georgia to visit. Out of all the Airbnbs we've stayed in, this one was definitely the best value for our money. It was well decorated, the bed was exceptionally comfortable, and the washer/dryer was a huge plus. There was plenty of paper towels, shampoo, dish soap, blankets, towels, and even condiments. Something that we were concerned about though was the electronic doorknobs' ability to lock. We were able to open all three doors to the suite after we thought they had been locked. However, I've always known Yarmouth to be a safe area so I wasn't super worried. Overall, we would stay here again. It's a nice location with many ideal spots close by and we were super grateful to have help shovelling out my car. Thank you!

Rustic cottage that's been in my family since 1893. Ocean view on a mile around Island With Beach Access, Open field for all sorts of games etc. a great island for small walks, very friendly neighbors with spectacular night views of Portland and the stars with no light pollution. 20 min to Freeport for shopping and 20 min. to Portland for Night life,Dinning, Work.Etc.
Rustic 1893 Cottage. Upstairs in winterized with sealed insulated walls and heating and carpeting. Downstairs still has the very rustic feel of the history of the original cottage, fire place and couch and love seat and original rocking chair my grandmother use to sit in for hours and look at the view. Many memories in this magical place. Hope you make some of your own.
Surrounded by family and history. open field we share with family friends for over 100 years. and they are very sports oriented for a good game and time for all. open spaces for lounging and a deck for the not so sun friendly folks.Great walk around the island and a nature preserve trail just up the street on the west side of the island.
  • Lovely little place and great places to walk nearby around the island.

    Lindsey2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Welcoming, clean and plenty of bath towels!! Morning view of the water is truly remarkable. Great little hidden gem for recharging the soul.

    Jenny2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Adorable cottage and great location on a very private island. Close to Portland & Freeport. Excellent cottage if you want to stay in and cozy up by the fire or even explore all that the island has to offer (Littlejohn Preserve, fresh lobster and/or the beach!) The house is so charming and really felt like home the moment we walked in. We were 4 adults and 2 young children under the age of 3, it never felt overcrowded. Loved the fresh baked goods that were left upon arrival. Would love to go back!

    Tara2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Rustic, cozy and perfect for a small family. Love that it was dog friendly, our pup had a blast. Yarmouth and Littlejohn Island are really special and this place situates you perfectly to explore the area, head into Portland or simply lounge at the beach. You should know that the host recommends not drinking the tap water although it is apparently safe, and provided several jugs of bottled water at no cost.

    Ethan2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage was the perfect end of summer getaway for our family of 4. There was plenty of room for myself and my husband, our 9 year old, and 2 year old. The beds were unbelievably comfortable, and the views out the windows could not have been more beautiful. This is not a 5 star luxury accommodation, but if you need a sparkling clean and comfortable place to relax with your family, this is absolutely it. 3 bedrooms so everyone has space, a large living room with comfortable furniture, a big TV and super fast wifi made it easy to relax and watch a movie at night. As noted in the listing, the bathroom is very small, but we made it work and it didn't take anything away from the experience. There is a full sized washer and dryer in the house, so you don't have to take sandy seawater clothes back home with you...a real perk when traveling with kids! The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed, and the wraparound deck had lots of seating options for morning coffee, card games during the little ones nap, and watching the kids run around the huge yard. The nature preserve on the island was a beautiful way to spend a morning. (Of note, if you are traveling with little ones, the nature preserve is not very stroller friendly, but that certainly doesn't have anything to do with the house.) The location was perfect for a day trip to freeport and old orchard beach, and one to portland. It was very hard to say goodbye to the area to head back home, but we look forward to returning!

    LeAnn2019-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage easily slept my husband, me, our 2.5 yr old, 8mo old, my husband's mom and dad and our aupair. It was perfect! We loved the view and enjoyed the outdoors! We over induldged in blueberries straight off the bushes and ate most meals on the picnic table overlooking the water. Brad was very responsive to my messages which was very helpful. We would definitely stay here again :)

    Lisa2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Brad was a great, hands off, but fully available, host. We had no issues and when we had questions they were answered immediately! The house’s location is just amazing- perfect Maine coastal village feel yet so close to Portland and lots of other spots to explore. The house is rustic and minimal but has everything you need :) Definitely recommend!

    Katie2019-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Brad’s cottage was the perfect place for a trip with my family. It was cozy, clean, and was stocked with everything we needed to cook great meals to enjoy on the deck overlooking the water. Centrally located to everything, was a quick ride to Portland or the beach. Definitely recommend a stay!

Welcome to our dog-centric organic habitat! You have the comfy first floor of our split level home, with your own entrance and little fenced yard, and we live upstairs. Take full advantage of our “stay and train” program (Jenny is a CCPDT certified professional dog trainer) or just enjoy Bliss Woods Farm’s organic gardens, local trails, tidal beaches, and Freeport/Yarmouth restaurants and shopping! Twenty minutes to Portland or Brunswick, with many dog welcoming excursions nearby!
Our organic gardens are nested in multiple layers of fenced in rooms that allow you to safely manage your dog and condition positive emotional response to training. If you only need one room, you get a room with a private bath that opens into a small private dog training and exercise area. Your room is equipped with giant crates and gates that you can use if you need them. Beyond your very dog friendly room and yard are mown fields, and dog-centric organic gardens, sometimes with a view of lovely belted gallway cattle. In winter, bring skis and learn to skijor around the fields. An addition bedroom abuts your room and is available (additional fee may apply) if you need a second bedroom. Our facility of fields, fenced training yards and trainer lounge/barn is surrounded by 3 miles of preserved woodland trails. We are 1.7 miles to Winslow Park (a dog friendly waterfront park, where the tidal waters are warm and very swimmable, to us anyway) and 3 miles in the opposite direction to LLBean's flagship store and factory store. We are only 1 mile to S Freeport Village, the marina and maybe the best fried clams in the world!
We are an organic subsistance farm, growing approximately 50% of the food we eat, and we are happy to share. You are welcome to pick berries or flowers or herbs, enjoy the gardens and leave your dog here while you enjoy swimming at a Winslow Park. Bliss Woods Trails here are dog friendly, but not TOO friendly! Bring bug off clothing for venturing into the woods, where mosquitos can swarm! Bliss Woods surrounds our farm, it’s a preserved forestry area with approximately 3 miles of dog friendly trails. We are about 1 mile to the S. Freeport marina, the YMCA, restaurants, 3 miles to downtown Freeport and LLBean. We're barely a 20 minute drive to Portland’s East End Beach (dogs welcome off leash before 8 am and after 5 pm) and the trail to the downtown Portland waterfront. We're on a fairly busy road but our property is entirely fenced in. You can just open the door and let your dog(s) outside with no worries.
  • Perfect place for you and your dog. We are repeat clients. Jenny and Al are great hosts. Despite the focus on dog visitors, the space is spotless. Very convenient to both Freeport and Portland.

    Kevin2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely wonderful experience!!! My husband and I were so happy with our stay, and our dog Luca was equally happy. We chose to stay because of Jenny’s expertise with dogs and dog training. She was great with Luca!! Her facility is excellent and we recommend anyone who wants training for their pup, please go see her! Our room was in a great location, just couple miles from great restaurants and shops in Freeport. Our room was clean, and the location was beautiful. We highly recommend.

    Nicole2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely Clean accommodations. You probably will not find a better place to bring your dog! Jenny is most accommodating and helpful. We highly recommend.

    Doug2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Jenny and Albert are wonderful hosts. I really enjoyed the gardens and the opportunity to let my dog roam the property and to train with Jenny. Jenny was a wonderful guide to local places and it really enriched our trip. I have to mention that the beds were so comfortable and the rooms and amenities were cozy and we felt totally at home.

    Kendra2019-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • This is a unique and incredible place. I didn’t have my dogs with me, but wish I did. For my purposes the location was ideal and the unit perfect. It had lots of room and a basic kitchen area with microwave and refrig. Being dog-centric, it is a very practical place... not luxe. The farm and dog training areas were beautiful, with trails running off into acres. I was carless, but Uber was available. Jen was an incredible and helpful hostess. Loved her enthusiasm.

    Susan2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Jenny kept in great communication and was very accommodating! Great value and an awesome location.

    Rachael2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Repeat client. There is no better place to stay with your dog. Recent addition of porch was a great idea. Massive fenced area is great to let dogs wander off-leash.

    Kevin2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • This was such a fun stay with unique accommodations. We brought our 17 year old beagle and Jenny was so understanding and sweet with our situation. We could not have asked for a better place for our needs traveling as a family with a dog. Very convenient to Freeport (important - El Jefe and Frostys Donuts) and Portland. Everything was perfect! We joke that after seeing our pup on the farm, perhaps she wants to retire to Maine!! Thank you again to Jenny!

  • A great cottage off of the beaten path! We enjoyed the locals and exploring the area! We will definitely book again in the future.

  • George and Debbie were perfect hosts! The Lil’ House was perfect in every way! The view of the ocean was amazing. You could see it from the living area and from lying in bed. You can wake up to the sun rising on the ocean! It was very clean and we felt like we were home it was that comfortable. You could hear the ocean if you were out on the deck. We never give anything five stars on everything but we had to on this one, it was that perfect!

    Fred2019-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • George and Debbie were great to deal with. Loved the area, the sunrise and sunset. The place had everything and more! Wish we could have stayed longer.

  • The Lil' Guest House on Bailey Island was a wonderful spot for a couple's getaway and birthday celebration. The house is so well thought out and equipped.....it's obvious a lot of thought and care went into it. Very relaxing and peaceful, beautiful views, private beach nearby, nice furnishings, so many special touches, great kitchen and bathroom, huge deck, fire pit out back, comfortable bed. We can't wait to go back!!

    Donna2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • George and Debbie are the warmest hosts you could ask for. The cabin overlooking the ocean was spotless and creatively d'accord. Fresh Lobster delivered to your door, warm friendly visits with owners and family, and reading books down along the shore. A Dreamland vacation. Book it before it goes. Highly recommend!

This lovely contemporary one-story home is a relaxing, unfussy place to call home for a few days (or longer). It is located within walking distance of the famous Cribstone Bridge, Orr’s Island Candy Store and two popular restaurants on Bailey Island.
This Island home features an open concept kitchen, living and dining area with distant water views, two decks and the sense that you are part of the Island community.
This accommodation is ideal for anyone drawn to contemporary interiors and water views. There is a seafood restaurant one mile away!
  • Stephen’s cottage was a fantastic place to get away for a few days. The space is large for two people, thoughtfully decorated, and has all of the amenities we could have needed for our stay. It was also very clean when we arrived. The pictures really don’t do it justice, it’s a beautiful home. Check-in was simple, and that was quite nice after a long day of traveling. Though we didn’t get the chance to meet Stephen, we was responsive and helpful whenever we reached out. Our first morning there, we woke up early and were pleasantly surprised to be able to see the sunrise over the ocean from the kitchen window. It is a fairly long drive to get in and out of Orr’s island, but we found we were always looking forward to going back to the cottage if we’d left the area for the day. It seemed like Orr’s/Bailey island had plenty to do if you don’t want to leave the area. We’ll definitely be back in the future and highly recommend Stephen’s cottage to anyone looking to stay in the area.

    Zoe2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Steve’s place in Orrs island is a delight! We had a lovely couple of days making the cottage our base as we explored Maine’s beautiful natural bounties. Steve was extremely gracious and flexible with our check in / checkout process. The cottage itself is beautifully situated with windows bringing in plenty of sunshine and giving pretty views. The presence of art and thoughtful details in the decor is very heartwarming. Interacting with Steve himself was the best part of the stay though! Don’t pass up the opportunity of experiencing this slice of heaven!

  • This a spacious well decorated cottage. I love that it is handicap accessible complete with ramp. Beautiful view from decks. We will be coming back again

    Edna2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to stay. For a couple this is a spacious place. I was actually surprised by the room. In the distance you can see a cove out the kitchen window and one out the front window. Not gonna say it is a spectacular view but hey it was nice to know your close to the water. Stephen is a great host with lots of info on local stuff. Easy to cook here. Being about to do your laundry is great if your on longer stay. This was our first trip to Maine we loved it. This place is in the slower paced area and we were happy about that. Check out the candy shop up the street. The ice cream is amazing and big servings. Overall very satisfied.

    Brett2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome place if you are looking to detach from work and just the business of life. Lovely little coastal town, and Stephen is a great host. Honestly wish we had more time to chat and get to know each other better, but great at responding and answering questions immediately. Will gladly book this place again for a second time.

  • Minglewood is a wonderful combination of location, amenities, and gracious hosts.

    Ron2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I had an amazing stay at Minglewood. Thoughtful touches everywhere and we felt immediately at home! The fresh baked goodies, fruit and creamer you left made our mornings effortless. The provided coffee was wonderful as well. Even on the coldest weekend in Maine this season the multiple heating sources kept us cozy throughout our stay! I'm sorry we didn't have a chance to meet Jamie and Sally but we were eyeing that firepit under the snow outside and are already thinking about a return during the summer or fall to enjoy the outdoor amenities as well! Thanks again and best to you both, Jamie and Sally!

    Scott2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved Minglewood! I think the pictures don’t even do it justice. It was much bigger than we thought it would be, clearly newly renovated and super clean. It was cozy because of the way they’ve decorated (and the fire place, of course!) but the high ceiling and bright windows meant it didn’t feel stuffy and it was not overly rustic. It felt private and was off the beaten path but not deep in the woods. The bed was really comfortable and the projector set up was great. They left coffee and tea as well as a light breakfast - banana bread, orange juice and yogurt! The kitchen was bigger than I thought and they’ve outfitted it with everything you’d need (a microwave, hot plate, electric kettle, crockpot etc.) but just note that there isn’t a stove or oven so don’t plan on cooking an elaborate meal. It was perfect for a weekend getaway. It really exceeded our expectations and we’ll definitely be back!

    Jane2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Had a wonderful time staying here! Loved it and would definitely come back again!

    Robert2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Super nice place to stay in the Freeport area. Very neat and clean with great amenities. From homemade muffins to fresh flowers, Minglewood fits the bill. Nice wood stove, comfy queen bed too. Tucked in the woods a bit, just enough off the beaten path. Do not hesitate to book. You will be pleasantly surprised!

    Marie2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Minglewood is the sweetest, coziest little getaway. It’s private enough to make you feel like you’ve truly gotten away from it all, but still just a short drive to all the shopping and dining in Freeport. Jamie and Sally made it so welcoming for us with thoughtful little touches like fresh baked cranberry bread and candies on the pillows. It’s the perfect romantic weekend hideaway!

    Bren2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Had a fabulous time at Jamie & Sally’s. Location was close to local shopping yet far enough away to be private, quiet and relaxing. Minglewood has unique home decor and very clean. A definite return visit.

    Karen2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Minglewood is the perfect place for a couple getaway! A beautiful cabin with wood stove, comfortable living area and a lovely view. Only a 20 minute drive to Portland and 5 minutes to Freeport. We spent a whole morning just relaxing in front of the wood stove while it snowed! Jamie and Sally add wonderful special touches like fresh flowers, essentials for coffee and snacks and homemade baked goods (which are amazing!) We don't often visit any place twice but we will definitely be back!

  • Mary and her husband were wonderful hosts. Their historic home is beautiful and was the perfect accommodation for our one-night stay on the island.

  • Mary and John are absolutely fantastic and provided a perfect stay! We truly appreciate everything they did- such special touches! They have so much hospitality and we felt at home, comfortable, and totally at peace. It’s a beautiful Maine stay!

  • Mary’s home is lovely! It’s a very close ride from the ferry and walking distance from the Inn. We enjoyed riding bikes around the island and exploring a number of the beaches. Also, be sure to watch the sunset from the backyard! Thank you again!

  • She is the most hospitable hostess and has the cutest home! It has so much history which she so kindly told us all about! I have never felt more at home and even got to surround myself with her love of her town and abundance of monarch butterflies during my visit. Go visit Chebeague you will not regret it!

    Sam2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I were looking for a quiet place to get away for a few days, and Mary and John's house could not have been more perfect. It is a beautiful space that they keep looking immaculate, and they create such a warm and inviting atmosphere that you really start to feel like you're coming home at the end of the each day of exploring. They provided everything we needed, and went out of their way to make sure that we knew that best places to walk, swim, and eat. We were so sad when it came time to leave and hope that we can make it back in the future because it was truly a dreamy few days on the island, much of which is owed to the wonderful experience Mary and John provided. I cannot recommend this place any higher!

  • Quite possibly one of the best Airbnb's we have ever stayed in! Sandy and Cam were unbelievable hosts - warm, accommodating, and very hospitable! Their home is lovely, with a beautiful homegrown garden in the back full of fresh veggies and herbs. Cam took us a on fun tour of the garden on our last morning of our stay, definitely a trip highlight! The private room is cozy and clean, with a large en suite bathroom. There is a great kitchenette just outside of the room, with a fridge and freezer to put food/drinks in. There is also a larger kitchen towards the entrance with a coffee machine for the guests! We would highly recommend this Airbnb to anyone planning to visit Freeport ME. Their home is centrally located and makes getting around Freeport easy. We already know we need to come back to Freeport and stay with Sandy and Cam again!

  • Great stay experience. Sandy and Cam were so welcoming and helpful.

    Michel2019-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first trip to Maine as well as using Air BnB; and it was an excellent experience. The location was in a quiet neighborhood; but not too far away from the main roads. The room and bathroom were very clean and met our needs. There was a list of local restaurants and places to explore. If we had any questions Sandra answered them promptly. We would definitely book with them again without question!

    Melissa2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Sandra's place was in a great location to Portland and Freeport and many other towns. The home was spotless and the room was perfect as the bathroom was inside the bedroom....so no need for walking down the hall! There was a little sink and full size refrigerator just outside the room which was extremely convenient. Both Sandra and Cam made us feel welcomed throughout out stay. I would definitely book this AirBnB again!

Come and enjoy our new 1000 sq. ft. 2 bedroom, 1 bath barn apartment. Located on the 2nd floor & conveniently located 5 minutes drive from downtown Freeport. Living Room is bright, spacious and comfortable. Kitchen is fully-appointed with brand new appliances as well as pans/dishware/utensils. Bedrooms are quiet & feature comfortable memory foam beds. Bathroom is private & clean & features a spacious shower. This apartment was designed to accommodate short or long stays. No pets allowed, sorry.
The apartment is located on the 2nd floor of the barn. Over the past three years, we have converted the space from an empty hay loft, into a beautiful 2 bedroom apartment. It was a labor of love and now we are ready to share it! The barn is located on our property, but you will have the privacy of it being located in a separate building. However, it is located close enough, so if you have any questions or needs we can tend to them right away.
The apartment is located less than 3 miles from Interstate 295 Exit 20, but is located in a quiet rural residential area. The apartment is also only a short 5 minute drive from downtown Freeport.
  • What a gem! This beautiful, spacious space with woodland views envelopes you in warmth and comfort. Sparkling clean and well designed area. Kitchen has all the pots and pans and tools you need to cook, king size bed was very comfortable and warm, convenient laundry made our week+ stay easy. You feel you’re out in the country but freeway is only minutes away as is Freeport, Brunswick, Yarmouth and Portland a little farther. Highly recommended.

  • Liza and Co. offer a great new renovated space. Extremely modern, very clean, and above and beyond. Their communication is well above standard. My wife wife and I enjoyed our stay very much here and is the space is very roomy and cozy. As far as we are concerned, we are considering this rental again in the near future. The hosts are very professional and accommodating. We highly recommend this rental for any getaway whether short or long term. AAA+++

  • This was my second stay and it was just as great as the first. Excellent host private location. Could not be better.

    Don2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • An excellent place to spend some quiet time. Outstanding layout and amenities. Our only complaint was that we were disappointed we did not see a deer walking out of the woods during our stay! This place comes HIGHLY recommended by us.

    Cynthia L2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent place to stay. My favorite Airbnb so far. They are excellent host and have thought of everything. I completely felt at home I highly suggest you give this place a shot.

    Don2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • This was a wonderful stay. It is close to town but the barn is set back enough from the main house that there is privacy. Liza thought of everything we could need for a warm comfortable place in January.

    Eleanore2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fabulous stay at the barn! It is spotless. Very warm and quiet. The view of the snow in the trees was spectacular. We’ll be back!

  • Our trip began with Martha picking us up at the ferry dock and offering an island tour. Her suite is upstairs right on the ocean with gorgeous views, sunrises, a cozy comfy bed and wonderful tub! This was our first Airbnb experience without a private entrance, Martha was so welcoming we immediately felt comfortable. Her place is immaculate and charming. One of our best Airbnb experiences despite the cold wet weather!

    Jill2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • This property is absolutely stunning!! The view of the ocean is amazing and I still can't get over the sunrises and sunsets. Martha is a wonderful host and made us feel at home. The room is large with incredible views. The bathroom is private and large. Martha made us feel like family. It's a beautiful home in a stunning location. I highly recommend this property and would stay there again!! Thanks so much Martha for making our stay a great memory.

  • If you are looking for down time, this place will wrap you in calm and comfort. Sunrise on this side of the Island ...a short walk to Chebeague Island Inn for sunset dinner. Just spectacular. Venture around the Island by bike and you will find the most amazing people!

    Cindy2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was absolutely perfect. We've stayed at a multitude of airbnbs and this was hands down the most beautiful. Martha was an amazing, expert host. Her home is incredible.

    Leslie2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • This was one of our all-time favorite places to stay! The view from the balcony alone is worth the trip, right on the water of a rugged and beautiful Maine beach. Watching the tide come in and out revealing the natural beauty was amazing. And the sunrise was unforgettable. The large room is very well decorated and appointed. Beautiful bathroom and soaking tub. The Chebeague Inn was beautiful and has amazing food! All our needs were provided including delicious homemade scones! Trip by ferry was easy and quick. Martha is a very friendly, gracious and knowledgable host!

Soak in the secluded backyard hot tub at any time, with a pool available in the summer. At 800 square feet, this loft is 3 or 4 times the size of a hotel room, and from its flagstone floors to its cathedral ceilings, it offers much more as well. Enjoy the sophisticated and well appointed decor.
The loft is bright and airy given its 16 foot cathedral ceilings, four sky lights and five large windows. Each window has room darkening blinds and full curtains that can darken the room for an afternoon nap. It is accessed through a private entrance up a wide stairwell in the stand alone garage. An In-Suite thermostat allows you to control a comfortable room temperature. The newly renovated space is equipped with queen bed and a twin trundle bed, which pulls out a second twin bed (sleeps two). The beds are fitted with 100% cotton sheets. The living room lounge area has a 55" 4K Ultra UHD flat screen TV equipped with a Roku streaming device. Spectrum TV streaming app provides the broadcast networks, as well as ESPN, TNT, AMC, Bravo and others. Bring your log-in ID to access your favorites programming, such as NETFLIX, HBO-Go, HULU and SlingTV. A Blu-ray/DVD player is available upon request. (There are 3 redbox locations within 2 miles.) The full bath has a shower stall (no tub). Plush towels and premium soap, shampoo and conditioner are provided. Enjoy use of backyard hot tub year round and in ground pool during summer season. Children are welcome. The loft is stocked with books and board games. There is a baby gate available.
The setting of this property is a long and winding street with large, open lots and eye-catching homes. Stroll to the mouth of the Presumpscot River, which empties into Casco Bay. Dine and shop in the heart of the Old Port, only 14 minutes away.
  • Nicely styled, clean and very private! Perfect!

  • The entire process and stay couldn't have been easier. Pamela did a fantastic job making check in easy and giving you plenty of options to do during your stay. Would stay here again!

    Nate2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • This place was great! Awesome for a weekend up north.

    Ian2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I visited the area with our fatbikes to check out the trails in the Portland/Freeport area and visit some of our favorite breweries. We didn't want to stay in downtown Portland or worry about overnight parking and this place is in a great location. There's a grocery store nearby and it didn't take long to get into the downtown area for breakfast. We only stayed one night and didn't cook there so I can't comment on the kitchen amenities except that I appreciated the option. The space was very comfortable and warmed up quickly (except the slate floor but there are plenty of rugs). I hope to visit again in the summer and take advantage of the pool and hot tub. Thanks, Pam!

    Stephanie2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I stayed two nights here in February and loved every second spent in the loft! Instructions upon arriving are simple and clear. The loft is beautifully decorated and had a true feeling of home. We were visiting the Portland & Freeport areas, and this was in the perfect location between the two. I appreciated the coffee options and the non-dairy creamers that we’re provided. We utilized the fridge and some of the kitchenware, but mainly explored nearby restaurants, although we did appreciate the option to cook. One of the nights we stayed it had snowed about 6 inches over night, and Pamela and her family were nice enough to even brush off my car while they were shoveling!! We utilized the hot tub, which was a great addition to the trip! We HIGHLY recommend the loft to anyone considering!

    Michael2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I stayed here for a night in February. It was beautiful and clean and looked just like the pictures. The hot tub was an added bonus especially during the cold winter.

Unique space - country charm 10 minutes to downtown portland. Find peace and solace in this duplex apartment-like guest wing of a 1792 historic farmhouse in the center of one of Maine's most beautiful seaside neighborhoods. Water views and a 4 minute walk to the beach and town landing docks (bring your boat or kayak!). A unique getaway oasis for soul restoration.
A spacious yet cozy space with brand new shower room. Sunshine streams in through oak trees which keeps the space naturally cool in the summer. Exposed ceiling beams reveal the raw craft of this antique historic farmhouse. Enjoy off-season water views from the picture window or cool evening ocean summer breezes. A cozy warm sun-filled winter spot with a semi-private outdoor patio area. The second floor is a unique sleeping nook which has a skylight and brand new egress easy opening designer windows. Past quests have loved the feel to this space and we have recently renovated giving the natural wood beams a clean fresh finish and the walls and trim a fresh coat of paint. Privacy, coziness and a sense of old world connection are the halmark of this listing.
Town Landing is one of the loveliest of the seaside neighborhoods in the Portland area. The Market, Underwood Park, and the Town Landing Beach and docks are all central to it's charm. Come stroll the neighborhood at Sunset and watch the boats as they come and go from the landing. Bring your Kayak, launch it nearby and explore Casco Bay.

The location is amazing, the amenities are so helpful, Duncan the dog is so cute, Jahn and Natalie are wicked helpful and great conversation. They made me feel welcome and respected my need for quiet and isolation while on a 4 day intensive training. I will definitely stay with then again!

  • Our stay was everything we were hoping for. A beautiful view from sunrise to sunset. We saw a variety of ducks, loons and an eagle. Be sure to bring your binoculars, you won’t be disappointed. The apartment was private and very clean and had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. There are also good restaurants and walking trails nearby, a perfect get away.

    Susan2019-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • There are many great waterfront places on the islands but what sets this place apart is the crashing waves right outside the door. My visiting wife and my local family were thoroughly impressed. We relaxed while watching the ocean for hours. We will be back.

    Nathan2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Edgecliff is the perfect property for two people to get away from it all. The view is amazing; we would sit for hours just listening to the waves crashing on shore while watching sail boats pass by and lobster boats at work. The apartment has all the important modern conveniences, including a well-equipped kitchen and reliable wi-fi. Although it was warm when we were there, there was always a nice breeze so we were very comfortable. The location is fairly convenient and I enjoyed taking in the sunrise from the nearby Giant’s Stairway trail.

  • Gail's place was awesome! The space was very private and it felt like we had our own entrance into the space. A couple things that were just great stand outs were the map of Portland left on the desk, the convenience of getting into the city, and the beautifully renovated restroom. If you are visiting Portland this is a prime location, stop looking and book.

  • Gail’s place is great and so is Gail! The space is big and clean and in a great location. Gail greeted us when we got there and gave us some great local tips. It was the perfect stay for us. Check in and out were easy and convenient. Perfect experience.

  • Terrific place to stay when visiting Portland Maine

    Richard2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Yes, it's eclectic, as described, but very comfortable; any time I thought "oh, I need X" it was there. Easy access to highway north or south.

  • We had a great stay and it was better than I expected. The photos don’t do it justice! Super sweet, clean, and light-filled space. As noted in the description, you can hear them upstairs (maybe bedroom?) but that was expected. Would recommend.

    Sheila2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, super close to everything.

  • Gail was an amazing host. Shes was very inviting and ensured that we felt at home. Overall a very pleasant short stay in Portland, ME!

    Daniel2019-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great stay for our first introduction to Portland! Gail was communicative and helpful, and it was nice meeting her partner and their two dogs. As she mentioned, it's a downstairs apartment so you can hear some noise from upstairs but it didn't bother us at all. The space was clean and a very short drive from downtown, we had a great stay!

Welcome! The suite is a recently renovated, spacious one bedroom apartment on the second floor of our home in Falmouth Foreside. The Falmstead, as we affectionately call our property, is quiet, yet convenient, only a 5 minute walk to Falmouth’s shops and restaurants. Portland, with all its amazing restaurants and shopping, is less than five miles or a $10 Uber ride away. Freeport is a 20 minute drive. Come stay one night while touring or make this lovely guest suite your home for a longer visit.
Recently renovated, new, clean, and bright! Minimalist, yet warm and inviting. There are unique details including custom cabinetry and use of reclaimed wood. All lighting is LED, most on dimmer switches. The galley kitchenette is equipped with an under counter compact refrigerator, Keurig coffee maker, manual pour over coffee maker, electric kettle for boiling water, toaster, and microwave. Please note there is no stove. Bathroom with large tiled walk-in shower.
Falmouth Foreside is a residential area just outside of Portland. There is a small beach at the Town Landing with easy access to Casco Bay if you bring your kayaks or paddleboards. We love stopping at the Town Landing Market for sandwiches and beverages before a day on the water. There are hiking trails nearby, all nicely maintained and within walking distance from The Falmstead. Maine Audubon's Gilsland Farm is one mile away, with free admission and fantastic walking trails along the Presumpscot Estuary. There you'll find bird watching, places to picnic, and beautiful landscapes. Snowshoeing in the winter. Portland is now famous for its diverse, creative , fresh restaurant scene. But if you choose to stay closer to home, Falmouth restaurants walking distance away include Breakfast, Deli, Thai, Mexican, multiple Italian and Pizza, and our local The Foreside Tavern. For seaside dining The Dockside Bar and Grill overlooking Casco Bay is a longer walk, or a short drive away.
  • First rate! Everything was excellent. A spacious, sunny spot very close to Portland, yet quiet and tucked away. Sue is a wonderful host.

This cozy cottage is the ideal location for a refreshing family getaway to Long Island. This 2-bedroom home is in excellent condition and is a seven-minute walk to the South Beach, the most pristine beach in Casco Bay. The home features an open floor plan that includes the kitchen, dining area, and living room. Sliding glass doors in the living room lead to a spacious screened porch with outdoor sectional, rocking chairs, and twinkle lights.
  • This place is wonderful. Long Island is a peaceful getaway. Just lovely!

    Kelley2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • GREAT location!

    Melissa2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Long Island is a special place, perfect for peaceful relaxation, at least in the off season. I enjoyed my many walks and visits to beaches. Jacob is a great host. He responded quickly to questions and made lots of good suggestions of places to see. The kitchen has everything one might need for cooking in terms of pots and pans. If you like to use spices, bring your own. I appreciated the two-layers of window coverings so that they blocked the early morning light. The grocery store is very tiny, so one needs to plan to bring food or have it shipped in (which isn’t hard.) I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

    Caro2019-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Jacob is incredible; he was accommodating and very quick to respond with all of my questions. He was flexible with our check-in time, which was extremely helpful given our complicated travel schedule. The place was very clean and had all of the necessities for our stay. The cottage offered the perfect getaway for us; tucked away from close neighbors (we're from NYC, so this was important) and a short walk to the beach. Although the cottage is within walking distance to/from the Ferry, I definitely recommend planning in advance and renting a golf cart (or even bringing a bicycle to assist in getting around the island. I didn't plan ahead on this one, and we were okay without it given our busy schedule... but for those looking to explore Long Island, a golf chart/bike would be a great idea!

    Lee2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • As someone who has been going to this island every summer for about 20 years, I have to say this is one of the best places that I have stayed. It is clean, updated, and super comfortable! Great location right in the middle of the island so that you aren’t too far away from beaches, restaurants, gift shop, etc. I also stayed at this particular place many years ago and Jacob and his family have done an excellent job updating the place. WiFi is a huge plus, as not many places have that! We had such a great long weekend unwinding this late summer and are so happy we decided to rent this place!

    Chloe2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • The Lobster Trap is a clean, comfortable and cozy place. Whether you plan to bring just a few guests, or the whole family, Jacob’s place has everything you’ll need. Don’t miss out on an opportunity to experience both the island and this lovely place!

    Caitlin2019-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • First of all, the beds are amazing. And secondly, if you need to recharge this is the spot. Bikes to tour the island. Can walk to whole island (there are hills). Collect seaglass on the beach. There is even onsite laundry. Make sure to bring food as the island has no restaurants and minimal groceries. But plenty of beer and wine choices. The ferry ride was great and we learned a lot about the history of the bay. Would definitely return. Especially for the beds.

    Sophia2019-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • Jacob's house is sparkling clean with great touches in the interior. We spent a lot of time on the porch with twinkling lights and a comfy sectional/rocking chairs. The kitchen was stocked with all the utensils and pots/pans we would need to cook. Jacob had provided a great document with things to keep in mind and tips for our stay- this saved us time and made our planning much easier. He was prompt in responding to any of our questions. Overall, a great stay.

  • Natalie and Jann were wonderful hosts. Their place was clean and private. It gave us exactly what we were looking for: a clean place close to Portland breweries and scenery, as well as lots of charm. The house was beautiful and the hosts themselves were very friendly and had good tips for local places to try. Dunkin their dog was such a good boy.

  • Beautiful home, perfect for a weekend getaway. The place was very clean and comfortable. Close enough to enjoy the city but far enough to have some nice quiet time away from the city life. There was some renovations being done on the property with some loud drilling and construction noise that woke us up a few days, but hopefully that will be finished when you are there.

    Heidi2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice and clean apartment that was well equipped. Great location close to Portland and beaches.

    Joseph2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful space! My husband and I stayed for a week and really enjoyed ourselves; it felt like a home away from home. It was super clean and the owners clearly put a lot of thought into the space. The kitchen has everything you need (including dishes, knives, cutting boards, pots and pans, etc.). We also appreciated the ample closet space. Very easy access to Portland as well as points north. Please be careful pulling in the driveway (especially at dusk) as there is a very sweet dog living in the main house who likes to greet arriving cars. Friendly hosts and great value!

  • The studio was great for our stay in Portland. It was a short drive or Uber to Portland and accessible to other attractions nearby. It was clean and very nice. I would recommend this place to anyone!

  • This is a great location for easy access to Portland ! The place is spotless and nicely designed , virtually brand new . Parking on the property is a plus . The town of Cumberland is quite beautiful by the way .

    Christine2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Such an amazing place to stay while visiting the Portland area. We loved the privacy and tranquility of the Cumberland Foreside area. The hosts were more than accommodating and even gave us a ride to and from the small market there in town. They also offered info on a private little beach less than a mile from the house! We were literally the only ones on the beach and it was beautiful! Prolly and Steve also let us borrow a cooler and camping chairs to take to the beach. They also had great info on local restaurants. Couldn’t have had a better experience!
