Comfortable and roomy bedrooms in a warm sunny house with lovely views of a pond with birdlife. Very quiet rural setting. We felt most welcome and our host provided us with maps and guides to The Lake District and led us to the start of a lovely walk by the sea. She was very accommodating and had a lovely friendly cat. We recommend this B&B to other car travellers to The Lake District.

Fran is a very nice host and warm welcomed. She organized everything that we need really well. Her place is cozy and clean. Her neighbors are very friendly too. I recommend staying at her place.

Fran was a fantastic host. She replied quickly on a last minute booking and made everything very easy for our stay, even though she was away and we couldn't meet her. Her place is very comfortable and has a feel of a cherished English country house. Even though I didn't get a chance to meet her, Fran seemed laid back and kind, which are wonderful traits for hosts. Her cat is very affectionate and made our stay even more pleasant. We had a comfortable, lovely, quiet and warm room: we slept well - which is great for tackling the Lakes mountains the day after. We would love to return to her place and we recommend you book to stay there too.

Fran is a relaxed and friendly host who made us feel very at home, catering well for muddy outdoor types like us who needed somewhere safe to put our bikes! Our room was clean and comfortable, and the location very peaceful (the road outside is not a busy one at any time of day). Plenty of choice for breakfast too, which was great. We'll be happy to stay again when we're next in the area visiting local friends.

This cottage was as charming and delightful as it appears on the website. If privacy and relaxation is what you are after then this is perfect. I loved the gardens and the domestic animal life! Also the dressing table I could sit down in front of in the bathroom, never had one myself so it felt very nice to be able to put make up on sitting down for a change! Very nice helpful hosts, thank you.

One of the nicest cottages we've stayed in over the last few years, very warm and cosy and great size accommodation. Loved the big bathroom, great shower and dressing table was a bonus. Would have loved the weather to have been warmer so we could have sat out on the balcony, maybe next time...

The cottage is lovely, and Thomasina was a wonderful host, providing us with bread, milk, and (what we suspected to be) goose eggs, as there are geese near the cottage! The cottage feels secluded but is close to the motorway so excellent for driving to the Lakes or Dales.

My partner and I absolutely loved our stay here over New Year. The cottage is a lot more spacious than appears in the photos and was tastefully decorated, cosy and very clean. The cottage is easy to get to from the M6 and the directions Thomasina provided were easy to follow. Despite being so close to the M6 the cottage is extremely quiet and peaceful. We didn't meet Thomasina but Nicky was in touch with us before we arrived and got us settled in when we did arrive. The cottage was well equipped with necessities, shower gel, soap, oil, salt, pepper, washing up liquid and even provided ear plugs for if you're bothered by the feathered neighbours! The bed was very comfortable and the bedding kept us warm on the cold winter nights. It was a lot of fun seeing the peacocks wander round the grounds and going to say hello to the chickens and ducks behind the cottage. We really had the most relaxing time here and it was more than worth the price we paid. Many thanks!

A wonderful little oasis of calm with easy access from the M6. Perfectly positioned to discover the lake district, Morecambe bay or North Yorkshire on day trips out or just to spend lazy days wandering through the local parkland or play a spot of tennis on a sunny afternoon. Set in acres of parkland this quirky little cottage has got everything you could need for a relaxing break away. Thomasina and her family were very welcoming, helpful and friendly(even the peacocks!) I would definitely recommend this place anytime.... although I don't really want to as I'd like to keep this secret all to myself!

Our stay at Christina's house in Holme was fantastic. Christina worked very hard to ensure that all the details were worked out ahead of time. When we arrived everything we needed was in place. The house was a great place for four of us to relax and plan our time in the Lakes district. It was clean and comfortable and suited us perfectly. The village of Holme was incredibly welcoming to us as well and we enjoyed meeting many of the folk in the pub and at the church. Everything in Christina's house was exactly as advertised in the Airbnb listing. And just as the other guests have commented, we would highly recommend this listing for a visit to the Lakes district.

My family and myself spent 5 days in Christina's lovely home. It is a clean, modern house in an amazing location. My daughters enjoyed the well maintained garden. Kitchen is well equipped, easy to use. Bathrooms new and clean. Three bedrooms with sufficient space for 5 people, with comfy beds. We felt like home in Christina's home. Thank you very much.

Christina is the most amazing host. We planned our trip over Christmas due to my side of the family living in kendal. Christina was in touch often to make sure we had everything we needed to make it a wonderful trip. The kitchen is fantastic for entertaining or large families- we managed to cook a whole Christmas dinner on Christmas Day for 4 adult. It was delicious. All bedrooms are spacious and really comfy. The house was very clean and welcoming. Even though it had been empty for a few days, it took no time at all for the heating to heat the house up. Very fast wifi. The village where the house is situated (Holme) is amazing!! The local pub makes you feel welcome and the food smells fantastic. Whether it's Christmas, summer or a weekend break... this house is perfect for anything. Thank you again for everything Christina. Looking forward to our next visit.

The house was in a super location; perfect base for getting out and about in the Lakes, without being touristy: Orrest Head (360 views, park in Booths, Kendall and pathway starts just opposite carpark exit), Allen Bank, Sizergh Castle, Muncaster Castle ((NT), Blackwells Arts & Crafts House (not NT), with a super exhibition (Laura Ford - sculptures) to name just a few. Brilliant communication from the host. AND amazing weather - Canada without the flight!!

Christina's house was just right for our 4 night/3 day stay and an ideal base for cycling around southern Lakeland- trips such as round Windermere, via Grange over Sands are easily 'doable' in a day for those with a reasonable level of fitness. There is also a garage in which we were able to lock the bikes overnight. Christina herself was very helpful both before and during our stay. I would happily recommend both host and accommodation to prospective clients.

Christina makes her guests feel very welcome and has lots of handy information in a folder for all her guests needs. Just want to say what an amazing stay we had. Gabrielle was a superb host. Making sure we knew where she was and how to get there before hand. When we got there we got shown around then left to our own thing. Offered breakfast and given a key. Told to make ourselves at home We had a few lovely chats and she offered advice where she could House was amazing. Lovely setting and so quiet. Shower was the best shower I've ever had I have no bad thing to say about this stay. Recommend thoroughly Very cheap for what you get!! Thank you for having us.

Storrs farmhouse in the pretty village of Yealand Redmayne, is a perfect spot to take in all the scenery and sightseeing that the Lakes has to offer. It is secluded, but very easily accessible from the M6, and with larger towns like Lancaster within reach for shopping. Gabrielle is a wonderful host, attentive with a warm personality, and happy to give you as much privacy - or company as you prefer. Your room is large and light and slightly separated from the others on the first floor so you don't feel as though you are intruding. It is just as attractive as the rest of the immaculate house, with good views over the surrounding countryside. Just down the road is the New Inn, where we had an excellent Easter meal - the locals all know how good it is, so best to book if you fancy it.

Gabi's place is fantastic! Beautiful house in a beautiful small village. Close to the lakes district so great base to explore for a few days. Gabi and Richard were also fantastic. Friendly and welcoming, a pleasure to be around.

Beautiful area and a beautiful home! Gabrielle was so thoughtful to make sure we had a great stay, she was very welcoming and had thought of everything we would need, even made dinner reservations for us at her favourite restaurant! Her home was immaculate, cosy and has an ultra comfortable bed!! The surrounding area is highly recommended with lots of public footpaths and some amazing views for walking lovers. The house is close to lots of interesting places to visit! We had a wonderful stay defiantly puts the Yea in Yealand!!

We had a great time at Cassie's place, which is cosy yet modern. Ian (Cassie's father) was a great host especially his communication which really helped our late check-in. He also directed us to great local restaurants and had useful advice on nearby walks. We would recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

We loved our stay in this little cosy cottage. It was charming and homely with a lovely tranquil garden and outdoor seating area. The village has an amazing gastro pub with great food, wine and beer, perfect after our mega walk in the lake district! Cassie and her Dad Ian gave us clear information on the house and local area and went out of their way to make our stay friendly and comfortable. The only slight negative would be that the sofa bed was uncomfortable, something to bear in mind if 4 adults are staying. We would definitely love to come back as it was so quaint and the area was lovely! Thanks for a superb stay.

The place is great, located in a very quiet and charming town. Cassie and Ian were great guests, friendly and helpful. If you are looking for a beautiful cottage to stay close to the lakes, this is the one!

A very handy stopover just off the M6. Friendly owners who stayed up to check us in late, and were very welcoming (even leaving scones for us as a midnight snack). The room was clean, the bathroom and separate kitchenette meant the space was actually quite roomy - larger than I had expected and would be ideal for a longer stay. They had everything you might need including mapbooks and guides. It was nice to be able to make a cup of tea when you fancied. They waved us off the next morning after a great night's sleep.

It was really nice home to stay. When we arrive Vic&Diana gave us some cake and tea. Also next day Vic explain which route to follow to see the best places in the Lake District. I will recommend them 100%

If you are planning to visit the Lake Discrct for several days Alan's place works as a very good base. Only 20 minute drive to Kendal. The Old school has everything you would need for self catering. All you need to bring is food to cook. The area is quiet at night and I could relax in peace. Alan is very helpful. A large parking space is available. In case you are a motorcyclist, the parking space has bebbles and has a gentle slope, so arrive before it is dark.

I stayed at the schoolhouse for a mixture of work and walking, and it suited my needs down to the ground. Very interesting building, comfortable bed, wonderful scenery. There is a bus to Carnforth that stops right outside the schoolhouse, should you need supplies. I enjoyed my stay here and would recommend it

This is a beautiful and unique building, I was there on my own which is sometimes the best way as if you feel comfortable on your own then it will only be enhanced when you are with a group, this place has a lot to offer for a small or large group and if you are in a group where it is mixed sex, Then this place is ideal for both I would definitely stay there again. Alan is a great host and he is meticulous detail to whatever you need to maybe and the accommodation has everything that a small or large group would need for either a walking weekend or diving weekend, or even a week or two

This characterful former Quaker hostel was great! I had the whole place to myself. Anyone who has ever youth hosteled will be in their element here. The large upstairs wood-floored hall is a great space.

The area is pretty idyllic - plenty of walking, running and bird watching with climbing nearby too. Quick access to M6 and not far from carnforth for bigger shops. The accommodation is old school hostel, but had everything we needed and loads of space. Good find!

The Old Schoolhouse is located in the most idyllic little town. It's absolutely beautiful! Alan's place is located very close to a bus stop that takes you into Carnforth easily and quickly. Alan and Sue were kind and helpful during our stay.

Feeling welcomed started the moment we arrived there. It was exactly as clean, cozy, friendly and amazing as it was listed.

We had an amazing time at the cottage! The place was exactly as the post described - cute, homely, ideally located. The pub just down the road is phenomenal and the whole area is so idyllic (near great walks, and an easy drive to the lakes). Cassie and her dad Ian were very helpful before our arrival and during our stay. Would thoroughly recommend, and we definitely want to go back!

This is an excellent space for a family wanting to explore the area. Short drives from the main sites at the Lake District. Just 5 minutes drive away from two large supermarkets. Good outside space available and the kids loved it here. The "third bedroom" is a sofabed in the lounge which needs to be considered if required as this limits somewhat if a large family. There are two bathrooms which facilitate matters. There is another house across the road which can be considered for future rentals - to increase the bed numbers to 10. Excellent place - would definitely use again.

The picture of the inside do not do this cottage justice. The place was just lovely. Super cozy, nice and warm, very clean and really comfortable. There was a little vestibule in the back which was a lovely place for a morning coffee. Communication was quick and easy. We didn't deal directly with Cassie but instead were attended to by her Dad Ian. He was just great. Really friendly and helpful. He told us all about the area and even took us to a local pub for a night of great ale and company. Great view and a lovely location for driving out to the lakes. Also some nice walks in the area. Would highly recommend staying here.

We had a lovely stay in this cottage. Great to be able to take our dog away with us. The cottage was warm and toasty and much bigger than expected. Could do with a few extra touches such as mirrors in the bedrooms (for putting make up on!). Really good location if you have a car. We visited the Lake District one day, and the beach in Morecombe the next. Lots to see and do nearby.

A beautiful 1770's Cottage, cosy and easy, there is located in the middle of the countryside but just 20 minutes away from The Lake District by car. Clean, comfortable, nice furnitures and comfortables mattresses. Ian, Cassie's daddy, was very nice and helpful, his recommendations about places to go, local pubs were great. Highly recommended. A 7* experience!! My family and I were taken back with the level of hospitality from Jan and her team. A perfect accommodation in the perfect quiet location. Ideal place for a family retreat. Everyone went out of their way to be accommodating and showed my two year old all the beautiful animals/tractors. Fresh eggs every morning! It's like you're home from home. Can't wait to go back in the summer for a longer stay. Look no other place other than the Coach House in Yealand Conyer.

Elliot was very keen to make us feel welcome, and gave us good instructions on how we would find out. The house and the room was so charming with its rural character. So cozy! The surroundings were so beautiful! We were in no hurry in the morning when the check-out was at 12:00. So we had time to take a walk up the hill to see the beautiful view. We can really recommend Elliot's place.

Elliot made us very welcome in his cosy, rural home. We had lots of room to spread out in room number 1 and enjoyed lying in bed watching the stars. We enjoyed a long walk from right outside the door, the location is lovely. A short drive in the evenings took us to Kirkby Lonsdale where there is plenty of choice for places to eat. We will no doubt return to stay with Elliot again. Thank you Elliot for making us so welcome.

My friends and I had a lovely stay at Elliot's. Not only was he helpful in giving us directions and suggestions on places to visit, he was also very accommodating in letting us check in at a very late hour. His house is a very cozy place and the lakes are easily accessible from the house. The biggest and a very welcome highlight of the trip was getting a chance to meet Teddy (the dog) and Tybalt (the cat), Elliot's pets. Teddy was such a great host he took us on a "guided tour" to the hills in the morning, making sure we were on the right track and he took it upon himself to take us back home safe. Teddy and Tybalt made me miss my pets back home. Loved them both. Thanks Elliot, for sharing them (and your house) with us. :)

Elliot was very friendly and a great host. He welcomed us and made us feel at home. He was very approachable and kind and helped us with any arrangements we needed. The house was very big and located in a peaceful country side setting. It was the perfect spot to explore the Yorkshire Dales and was just 10 min away from Kirkby Lonsdale, with plenty of shops and restaurants.

Very helpful advice and instructions prior to our stay. House was very comfortable (we appreciated the cotton bed linen and towels) and the kitchen was well equipped. Lots of hot water and very clean. Hutton Roof is close to many attractions - we had a great afternoon on the Ingleton Falls trail and Kirkby Lonsdale is a pretty village well worth a visit .. it's an easy hour walk along quiet country lanes or 10 mins in the car. Overall a very relaxing and enjoyable few days in peace and quiet surrounded by beautiful dramatic countryside.

The cottage was incredibly cosy and lovely. My friends and I loved relaxing downstairs in the living room with books and looking out to see mountains and cows grazing. There were beautiful, well marked paths to walk on all around Hutton Roof which we definitely enjoyed. The only minor issue we had was with the wifi which was so weak as to be nonexistent but all in all we loved staying at the cottage and would definitely recommend it especially for people who want to get a real feel for the English countryside and the Lake District.

We stayed a few days in cottage Pauline, where we could disorient us completely. The house is very comfortable and very well equipped, in addition, the rooms are tastefully decorated with English. We really had a heart stroke! The cottage is located in a small hilly village where cows, sheep and horses walk there! One thing we missed during our stay: an internet connection. The wireless network does not work at all, and internet in the cottage was extremely slow. Thank you to Sue, a friend of Pauline, taking the time for helping us find a nice farm to visit! We will definitely be back!
