Places to stay in Burry Port

Places to stay in Burry Port
A fabulous holiday cottage based in the quiet village of Cheriton, nestled in the North Gower peninsula. The cottage has a double bedroom, bathroom with shower, kitchen, living room and further sleeping space in the upstairs mezzanine, which is accessed by a space saver ladder. The barn also boasts a private garden with patio area and a private Hot Tub.
A lovely self contained holiday cottage which has been newly refurbished. The cottage has underfloor heating throughout. A handmade oak ladder staircase offers access to a mezzanine bedroom above. Exposed oak timber throughout. The holiday cottage has a private garden area and boasts a private hot tub for guests.
The cottage is located at the top of the village which means that there is plenty of peace and quiet, especially at night. The barn is located at the roadside which offers easy access. There is very little road noise though as the road is very quiet at all times. Parking is available next to the barn with gated access onto the road.
  • Just as it appeared. All very clean and comfortable. Perfect as a base for exploring the Gower and coming back to a soak in the hot tub! Definitely recommend.

**NEW BOILER FITTED OCT 2019** Our house has been lovingly hand made using reclaimed materials and a unique, inventive design. We have an open fire in the living area to keep you cosy and in the winter evenings Outside we have a large garden space with multiple seating areas and a BBQ for those long summer nights Our home is perfect for a cosy romantic getaway, a catch-up with old friends or for a family treehouse adventure, kidds love it! We allow dogs but charge £10 per dog that stays 😊
Home of the designer builder of the solar showers and recycling ‘Reclaimator’ at Glastonbury from late 1980’s and first ‘Green Gatherings’ Passive solar designed for natural winter heating/summer cooling and a TMSthermalstore Our Beautiful Eco-Home, nestled in the treetops of Three Cliffs Bay, will tantalize your senses and make you feel OH so at home. Hand made from logs and recycled materials - There is love in the walls. Designed to maximise internal space but minimise the external (for energy reasons) – Is truly like an eco ‘tardis’ The house is 4+ bedroom, however not in the conventional sense - Two bedrooms are on upper mezzanines (hence the 4 dbl beds) and the 5th bed is a single in a cozy annexe snug. Be aware that the house is open plan and privacy limited - so if you are all on holiday 'together' as a group - one big family, then Treetops is perfect! Just let the tree trunks and flickering flames from the open fire sparkle the earth pigment lime washed walls to create a timeless atmosphere! Space - I lived here happily with my partner and two kids for many years, and we have even had groups of 10+ people stay. Kitchen - recently refurbished, open-plan so you are all together, with fridge, toaster, kettle and a new oven & hob (2019) - enough equipment to cook up delicious dinners! Bathroom - shower with water heated from solar, wood or gas. Cosy & homely, and perfect to wash the sand off beachy feet. Bedrooms - Two downstairs bedrooms, both sunny and bright, with curved hand carved walls and beautiful wood. Two mezzanines, one alice-in-wonderland, up a spiral staircase, which kids absolutely love. The other over-looking the sitting area, for more responsible monkeys, and a grand view of all that is going on. Outdoor - There is a open patio with a large table, a barbeque, outdoor fire pit, and large outdoor sink..perfect for washing wetsuits! Also surfboard storage, padlock points for bikes (cable type locks needed) and covered places to drip dry wetsuits & clothes. The garden sweeps upwards over terraces, spaces for yoga, apple trees and paths of sea shells. Our home makes a beautiful romantic getaway for couples, wine in hand, logs crackling on the fire and with no disturbances. For families, Treetops is a weird and wonderful adventure house, children love the magic of the mezzanines, the tree trunks running through the house and the excitement of the open fire, more communal than televisions! The open plan space allows for a real sense of togetherness. It is also wonderful for groups of friends meeting to catch up and have a good time! However we must add that we are not the house to use for a wild party as we must respect our neighbours. Sound travels to their house quite easily so noise must be kept to a minimum during the night. I.e. no loud music... Sorry!!
Treetops is more or less as close as you can get by car to Three Cliffs Bay. You can walk to the famous Pennard castle with it's glorious sunset views over the river and beach, within 5 minutes. The beach is then a further ten minutes from there. Around the corner is another beautiful beach, Pobbles. By car you can quickly and easily access all of Gower's award winning beaches. Treetops is on Sandy Lane, famous for it's hippy vibes, open minded and down to earth people, its green spaces and quirky hand built homes. It is a special place, famous to many people, and a real getaway from the hustle and bustle of normal life. An experience in itself! Nearby are farmers markets, the busy fishing village of Mumbles, with many shops, cafe's and restaurants, and the Gower Heritage Centre. Pubs are within walking distance (one only 5 minutes away, perfect!) Padlock points for bikes (cable type locks needed)

  • We were meant to travel to Berlin this weekend however, due to the uncertainty of not being able to fly home we booked this wonderful air bnb for 2 nights. I can’t express enough how wonderful Gilli & Michael’s home is. Absolutely beautiful. Sparkling clean. Gorgeous views. Lovely touch with the fresh bread, jams, butter, coffee and milk. We even had the opportunity to soak in the hot tub to star gaze and snuggled up with the log burner in the cosy living room. The bed was extremely comfortable. The only downside was that we didn’t want to get out or leave. We will definitely be returning!! Thank you so much ❤️

  • What a beautiful Airbnb, very comfy and homely. The cold weather didnt put us off using the hot tub (which was already turned on when we arrived so no waiting around) and the log fire was the perfect way to warm back up afterwards... Gilly and Michael were the perfect hosts, very friendly and on hand when required both in person and quick to respond to messages. We were welcomed with some essentials provided (Bread, Milk, Tea, Coffee, etc...) The King Arthur pub is only about 350 metres from the house, where we had some lovely food and sunk a few drinks, good atmosphere and very welcoming, highly recommend... We will definitely be looking to come back to enjoy your lovely home again. Jon and Bex.

    Joe2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fabulous one night stay here. The cottage is well designed, the bathroom is huge with funky tiles, large shower and deep bath. Kitchen is well equipped and Gilli leaves a welcome pack of organic bread and beautiful home made marmalade. The hot tub is a huge bonus, we had a sunny soak in the afternoon then back again in the dark to study the stars. The King Arthur is a short walk, good food and lovely atmosphere. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will visit again and would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to explore Gower

Bright and airy coastal house a few minutes walk from the no. 1 beach in the UK! Totally relax with some sea views, spectacular walks in national trust land all around, wonderful secluded beaches accessed across farmland, and a very well equipped, spacious home. This is my own home so not pristine luxury furnishings, rather beach house attire that is robust.
Very bright and spacious with 4 double sized bedrooms (2 King, 2 twin), large open plan sitting room and kitchen diner with Aga style cooker, sea views and very tranquil location. The property is not a commercial let and price at less that £20 per head is designed to reflect that. Meant for fun family relaxation without having to worry about things. If you want 5 star luxury with new furniture then this will not be the place for you.
Outstanding natural beauty with beaches, cliff and hill walks and wild ponies. The whole area is national trust owned to maintain its secluded perfection.
  • We had a wonderful family weekend at Kate's house. It was lovely and warm with sea views and within walking distance of the sea. It was very well equipped and very comfortable. It had a lovely big double room upstairs with sofa's and TV with a view of the sea with onsuite shower and toilet. We would highly recommend staying here.

    Philip2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • The house is far more roomy than I expected. Beautifully clean, spacious, warm, beds very comfortable. Great sea views. Very practical flooring if you have a dog with you. Well positioned for walking the coast path and the local scenery is quite spectacular.

    Lucy2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Such a beautiful house with so much space. Everything around is so close with just a short walk to Rhosilli Bay. We will definitely be going back!

    Keith2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful house with perfect glimpses of sea views. Well decorated with cosy touches and a very well equipped kitchen. Cooking on the Aga was an experience in itself! A safe and secure garden for dogs and children. Walking distance to beautiful beaches and countryside walks., plus cafes and museums etc etc. Perfect!

    Dawn2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had the best, most relaxing time at Kate’s place. The accommodation felt homely, and had the most amazing sea views. It’s situated just a short walk to Rhossili Bay, where you will also find great places to grab a coffee or have a bite to eat. Kate’s place is well equipped, bright and spacious. There were even games to keep the children amused! Highly recommend

  • We are a family of 5 - 3 teenage children + niece, nephew + sons girlfriend joined us too - so 8 adults fitted fine in this house. We have a tradition of going away between Christmas and New Year over the last few years to go for walks and play loads of board games. This house was ideal for this Had a great time. House was a perfect for us size for us. Wife appreciated the well stocked kitchen, I appreciated the location. We all appreciated the warmth of the house. The mattresses were very good quality too (I have a weak back - so often struggle when going away). Overall - perfect fit for our family. Did 3 coastal walks from the house itself without driving and 1 walk with driving about 20 mins. Nice open plan lounge/dining room/kitchen too. Recommend to any family looking for a base in the Gower

    Neil2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely few days over Christmas. The place was really warm with all the home from home comforts and amenities to make a prefect roast dinner! We were fortunate with the weather as it was glorious on Christmas Day. We especially enjoyed our walk to the beach, which is not far at all. We hope to come back and stay in the summer. Xxxx

  • We came slightly later than we had originally said and were still met warmly, Andrew had already put on the stove so we arrived into a wonderful warm space. We were soaking wet coming from a walk in storm Dennis so we were especially grateful for this! We were presented with some utterly delicious home cooked bread and shown the amenities and left to it. The cabin is gorgeous, comfortable and was warm enough to dry us and beat our chills in no time. Lovely hosts and a gorgeous space.

    Luke2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The hut is immaculately clean and cosy. Every detail is perfect. It's a lovely quirky space, perfect for couples! We would have happily stayed longer, one night just wasn't enough. We were greeted warmly on arrival and even given the most delicious homemade bread which we enjoyed later with butter and jam. The cabin smells wonderful! It's been lovingly decorated and looked after. There is a pub across the road, no more than 2 minutes walking, and plenty of public footpaths nearby. I would highly recommend!

  • A perfect, cosy stay in the hut - not even storm Dennis could stop us enjoying this lovely spot! It was warm, dry and the most relaxing place to read a book, drink wine and listen to the rain. When the clouds cleared we got a superb night sky to gaze up at. The dogs also made themselves at home and none of us wanted to leave. The only thing to bear in mind is the shower/kitchen is a bit of a walk from the hut but I probably wouldn't mind this in dryer weather! Luckily the toilets are just a few steps away. Would definitely recommend and would love to return and explore the area more in the warmer months.

  • Fantastic place, the beach is beautiful, a lot of castles and history a short (10-20 minute) drive, Swansea is 25 minute drive for nice meals. The house is amazing, no other word to describe it. Only downside is wifi connection is really poor so tv streaming didnt work or tablet (DVDs are provided though and CEX is down the road where we brought some of our own too).

    Chad2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cottage close to centre of village and walking distance to harbour and beach. Like home from home with plenty of kitchen equipment to use. Great communication with owner, before and through our stay. Loads of info in the cottage about the local area and all equipment in the house.

  • Driftwood Cottage is fantastically positioned for exploring the Gower and beyond. It is wonderfully equipped with more than you would expect. We stayed with our dog and she loved walking along the nearby beaches and with dog bowls, towels and poo bags all provided. What more can you ask for. We had a great time

    Paul2019-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • Driftwood Cottage is a comfortable and well equipped home with easy access to Camarthenshire and Pembrokeshire. It's a great base for a family with dogs as it is easy to keep clean and has an enclosed garden. The cottage has been tastefully renovated to a high standard and it was exceptionally clean and well maintained. There is a lovely beach and local amenities within walking distance and Pembrey Country Park is amazing. Highly recommended.

    Jane2019-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Driftwood plenty of walks for the dogs and good eating establishments for us that were dog friendly. The cottage is idealy situated for walks, train journeys and more. If we are in the area again we will be back.

    Graham2019-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely welcoming house, with all the necessities, very close to shops and restaurants, Caffi Llolfa in particular for a delicious brunch whether you’re traditional or Vegan in your your eating. The beaches are on the doorstep so a wonderful base for local walks but also easy to jump on the train and enjoy a walk back using the Coast Path for the more adventurous! Thank you to our thoughtful hosts!

  • Such a lovely house; a great home from home. Big comfy beds, tea and coffee in the cupboards. The wood burner was very useful this weekend in the freezing cold. Very close to Burry Port; literally at the end of the garden. We will definitely be back to stay.

    Kathryn2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah is certainly a thoughtful host. The accommodation met our expectations and some. From finding the venue to gaining access, spotlessly clean, comfortable, attentive. Our weekend was a gathering of friends who are quite fussy women of a certain age. All of us were impressed. Our stay was a treat! Thank you so much!

My place is close to the harbour of Burry Port and the 7 mile long beach at Pembrey, plus all the attractions of the countryside of Carmarthenshire. You’ll love the view across Camarthen Bay to the Gower and beyond and the peaceful country setting - with a private garden with BBQ, wi-fi, Sky TV or a cosy dining rom with a log burner for the lazier days.. The cottage is good for couples, friends, solo adventurers, business travellers, and families (with kids).
It is a traditional stone built cottage wtih everything inside to make it as comfortable as possible for the stay.
It's very green and peaceful, with friendly local people. There are plenty of things to do, starting with beaches and castles and including a gold mine, steam railways and adventure centres, and not forgetting lovely gardens and good restaurants.
  • An excellent host and property. Would recommend to anyone. So much thought has gone into the little bits and pieces of local information and things to entertain

    Paul2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a comfortable and cosy stay at the cottage. So many thoughtful touches, Judy had thought of everything! It was definitely the most child friendly place we’ve stayed in from the stair gate to high chair and change mat...its things like this that make such a difference when you’re travelling with two tinies. Judy was a kind and generous host and we would recommend her cottage to anyone.

    Emma2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • The most comfortable stay I had the whole holiday. Exceptional views, from a lovely home.

  • This was our second trip to the cottage and it was brilliant again. Judith did everything she could for us and made the house baby ready for our 8 month old daughter. It was clean and we couldn't want for anything in the house. Definitely recommend!

    Michael2019-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • Judith is an excellent host, the place is warm comfortable spacious clean and has a beautiful view We loved it

    Nigel2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Judith is a wonderful host and the cozy cottage has everything you could need. The view is amazing from the lounge and one of the bedrooms. We rate the cottage and the area as first class.

    Janet2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • The place is fantastic, just as the photos show - but in fact, its better than the photos show because this place has all the little extras that you cant remember to bring with you on holiday... cooking equip, magnifying glass, binoculars etc! My favourite moment was realising that we had forgotten to buy HP sauce when cooking a bacon and egg sandwich... but of course, there was a sachet in the drawer! Really great house and host.

  • Very nice, well decorated and clean cottage. The chocolate cake on the arrival was a surprise. My kids loved the smart TV. Cottage was actually bigger than how it looks in the picture especially the sitting room/reception. Overall it was a great stay for the family.

  • We had a lovely stay over the last couple of days. The accommodation was excellent, spotlessly clean, really comfortable for our family having been out and about running and rambling around Pembrey Park and the magnificent nearby coastline. The carrot cake on arrival was a lovely touch, which was demolished by our boys. We will definitely book here again if we are back to visit the area.

  • The house is a spacious 3 bedroomed property with everything you need for a great stay, it was warm and cosy, and clean! There is a huge TV in the lounge with Netflix and .amazon prime which the children loved! There were lots of extras like welsh cakes, butter, milk and eggs as well as quality toiletries. The kitchen was very well stocked with utensils and everything you need to self cater. This is only our second Air bnb and am very impressed. Diane was at the property to meet us which was great, she responded very quickly to my enquiries. There were lots of beaches within easy drive. The house is located on the A484 so was quite busy and a little noisy in the morning. We had a great time!

    Caroline2019-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Spent 9 nights in Richard and Diane's house visiting family and friend and it was absolutely fantastic. What a great house - home from home! It has everything you need from jigsaws and games for the kids, to a big flat screen tv with the use of netflixs and BBC players to catch up on box sets etc. The kitchen is very well equipped. Great garden too. Close to the town and to some amazing beaches. A bit noisy as it is close to the road, esp in the mornings! Everything from check-in to check-out went smoothly and Richard and Diane answered any email or text immediately. Top accommodation, we will definitely be renting this house again. Thank you so much

Lovely front of house room with a great view out towards the sea and the Gower Peninsula. It has a Victorian oak paneled library, feature fireplace ( not in use), new cast iron radiator, desk and various chairs. It was the music and study room but with all 3 girls finished with studies now it is rarely used. We usually have fresh eggs for sale and goats milk to sample. Our home was featured on TV in the Channel 5 series To B and B the best, episode 21 if you would like to see it and us!
Comfortable double bed. The library has the original oak paneled wall and a fireplace which is not for use. There are chairs in order to relax, read a book or browse the internet plus a desk for catching up on any paperwork. WiFi and ethernet cable. Private tea and coffee making facilities and complimentary 'welshcakes'. The bathroom facilities are in the cloakroom through the huge luxury kitchen/diner which includes a shower. TV and DVD. A travel cot and highchair is available on request.
Bronllys Farm is one of the original dwellings in the village. We are set up a short hill from the main coastal road. The private grounds of Bronllys Farm are peaceful and private and have a panoramic view over the Loughor Estuary towards the Gower Peninsula that cause gasps of approval. It is a quiet location on the edge of the village with surrounding farmland. This a great base to explore the coast, castles and countryside of the region. The city of Swansea and ancient Carmarthen are within easy access. We have a small convenience store in the village, a Co op supermarket and a lovely pub/restaurant, The Bryngwyn, plus a few other pubs. Nearby bustling Llanelli has all amenities and many large supermarkets. Burry Port with its picturesque harbour and lighthouse has a well stocked Coop supermarket and plenty of smaller shops, cafes and pub eating places. I'll give you a map of the main locations and some recommended places to eat but please just ask if you require any other tips and advice.
  • Vic was very welcoming. All my needs was met. Great location and very relaxing. I would book again if I was to visit the area again

The newly decorated room has a comfortable double bed, plenty of storage in the wardrobe unit, a desk with draws and a bedside cabinet. Views are across the back patio area, up to the orchard the farm above. The large shared bathroom has a bath with a shower. Our home was featured on Channel 5's series To B and B the best, episode 21 if you would like to see it and us!
We have a small convenience store in the village and a lovely pub/restaurant, The Bryngwyn, plus a few other pubs.
  • A lovely place to stay with a homely feel. It was in a beautiful location with a view of sea. Vic has extensive knowledge of the area and was more than willing to give recommendations for the rest of our trip. We appreciated their hospitality. (We also loved getting to know their lovely dog).

My family of 5 had a great time during our stay and would definitely recommend. Also a great location for exploring the surrounding areas...Pembrey Country Park is a must. Fantastic communication from Juliet and super easy check-in. Thanks for a lovely stay. Theresa

  • The communication before booking the house was quick and really helpful. The questions Juliet answered for me prior to arrival and her information for checking in was super helpful. The parking is right outside and free. We arrived and the house was really lovely. We expected it to feel small because it’s two bed but it didn’t. It was light and airy. The decor was beautiful as well. The house has been thoughtfully put together so everything you need without being cluttered with things you don’t. The area is great and to be honest you could get away without a car. The train station is a two minute walk, the shops only a minute more and the beach is five minutes on foot. I would definitely advise booking if you want to eat at some of the pubs just on the edge of town the seemed to get very busy. All in all a lovely stay !! I brought back happy kids, happy parents and a happy dog !!!

Need a getaway or a family break off the beaten path? Dan y Graig is a cosy, lovingly-decorated 3 bedroom cottage with a sunny conservatory, nestled in the hills close to the beautiful harbour of Burry Port. The fabulous beaches of the Gower and the renowned scenery and coastal walks of the Brecon Beacons & Pembrokeshire are all less than an hour away. In the words of a recent guest, "Beautiful little retreat from the world with stunning views." A warm Welsh welcome awaits you!
Dan y Graig was built in the 1800s by local Welsh miners. Originally a four-roomed cottage, it now has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and its own conservatory and viewing deck, which were added to catch the sunshine and enjoy views of the Gower Peninsular (when the Welsh weather permits, of course). Dan y Graig sits in front a beautiful rockery of overhanging greenery and ferns, planted by neighbours whose gardens have won national awards. The new fully-equipped kitchen, cosy bedrooms, and lazy day bed in the sunny conservatory make a wonderful place to getaway, relax and recharge. As Nicki, a guest who visited in March 2017, said: "You can still walk to the shops and the pub if needs be. The house was really spotlessly clean and we loved the fact there was no TV so it was like a proper break from reality."
Local town: Burry Port has a picturesque harbour with cafes, pubs, and coffee shops: Our personal favourite being Café Lolfa, an art gallery cum coffee shop serving delicious locally-sourced food with excellent vegan options. Theres a Nissa store (CK's) and a well-stocked Co-op for groceries. Pubs are friendly and serve great food. Burry Port Fish & Chips are particularly good, especially when eaten beside the sea or on the harbour wall. Whitford's, in the town centre serves some authentic Welsh food and is currently enjoying excellent reviews from our guests. Local beaches: If you're holidaying with young children, consider visiting places such as the Burry Port Beach (15 min walk down the hill, or 5 min drive) and Pembrey Country Park (10 min drive away). They provide endless hours of cycling, dune-surfing, and beach play. You can also ride horses, ski, barbecue, hike, and swim in the area. The award-winning Gower Peninsular is a 40 min drive away. You'll find stunning beaches and scenery, complete with prime locations to surf and hike. The Gower is unforgettable and is ideal for long days out on the coast. More info provided in our Guest Manual once you book :-)
  • We had a lovely stay at Sarah’s place. Great location and very cozy accommodations. Our 1 year old also really enjoyed the toys and teddy’s left there. Definitely recommend to others!

  • We really enjoyed our stay, the cottage is lovely and cosy, with everything we needed. It’s a beautiful location with great views and was just up the road from family which was perfect for us. I would highly recommend a stay, the beach in Burry Port is lovely and it’s an hours drive to some amazing beaches on the Gower. We look forward to our next trip!

  • Comfortable cottage with good hosts at the doorstep to some great landscape.

  • A beautiful cottage with lots of space and great views. Parking is fine for one car, a bit tight for two. Great value for money. A very quiet location. Highly recommend.

  • Highly recommended host. The cottage is so nice and peaceful. Had a great family time in Burry Port

  • Perfect home for a couple of days but always remind that it is over 200 jears old! Low doorposts and a floor whitch is not always level. Very quied. The beach is nearby.

  • We really enjoyed staying at Dan-y-Craig. Its a lovely cozy house, which is very thoughtfully kitted out, especially the kitchen, which was a joy to cook in. We had a BBQ in a little passage by the side of the house, which worked brilliantly; and could even see the sea from the house. We'll be back. Only caveat is that parking is a little tight for more than one car, but we managed. Good local amenities and great location for Pembrey Race Circuit, where we were working.

  • A lovely cottage in a lovely part of the world. Found it easily with the sat nav, and the key box made it very easy to access the house when we arrived. The dayroom is lovely for sitting in and there are clear views of the beaches (when not raining!). The beds were very comfortable, and there was plenty of hot water (the shower is not a power shower but was adequate). The house is lovely and quiet, we slept very well. There are a few nearby shops and Llanelli offers more in the way of supermarkets etc. Pembrey country park 10 mins away was great and we spent two days there at the beach, cycling, playing games etc. The Dolaucothi gold mines (National Trust) are also well worth a visit. An hours drive but worth it and the pub there served amazing food. Overall a very enjoyable stay and I would not hesitate to recommend or return. Thanks to Sarah and Vince.

  • Joanna was an amazing host, good communication throughout our Airbnb experience. The apartment was exactly how it is described and very, very clean and tidy. The added extra of the use of the local spa facility’s was amazing and helped make our weekend away that little bit more relaxing. I would definitely recommend a stay here and we will certainly be returning for a future visit.

  • We had a lovely stay at Joanna's place. It is a lovely apartment with very comfy beds. The view onto the beach/sea from the front room/kitchen is lovely, very relaxing to sit and look out with a cup of tea. The apartment is really close to the bistro (St Elli's Bay) which is lovely for food/tea & cake. Communication with Joanna was fantastic and she was a very helpful and accomodating host. We would definitely stay again!

Ideal location in a woodland setting, a perfect base to explore Carmarthenshire. A small one up, one down, compact, rustic, cozy, detached cottage set in a rural quiet location, next to a brook. There is a pub within a 5-minute walk. Warm in front of the log burner in the winter or relax on a sun-filled patio in the summer. 8 miles from the Wales oldest town, Carmarthen, close to Pembrey country park & superb Beach, Ffos Las Racecourse, Kidwelly Castle, Llansteffan & Botanic gardens
The cottage is compact and quaint with everything you need for a relaxing visit to Wales. The cottage has one bedroom with a double bed, a small shower room , a kitchen lounge with dining a table and a log burner. Dvds only. Outside are views over the valley, a patio area looking on to the brook and a chiminea. There are 2 dogs at the property but they do not have access to Brook Cottage. Please note.. The cottage is situated right on a lane, it is very quiet but care must be taken when entering and leaving the cottage.
The cottage is perfectly located, an enjoyable leisurely stroll down the lane over an ancient bridge and river to the local pub. We recommend the local pub, the food is home cooked and the locals don't bite :) There is a shop a mile and a half away with a post office, petrol, and chemist. Also, there are some good places to eat within a 2-mile radius plus very good taxi service. There are many places to visit, the National Botanical gardens are a short drive away and Carmarthen holds the Antique fairs once a month at the Carmarthen showground. The Cynheidre Railway is 2 miles away for railway enthusiasts. You can go further a field, Tenby is only 45 minutes away and a visit to Narberth is a must. The Ffos Las racecourse holds many events each year and is hugely popular. Closer by LLanelli wetlands are worth a visit and so is Burry port with its new Lifeboat station and great fish and chips. Pembrey country park 5 miles away has everything, acres of woodland to cycle, a fabulous Beach framed by sandunes. The renown Glynn Abbey golf course is 2 miles away,

  • We had such a wonderful time there. Nothing was to much trouble for them. Really nice place and made very welcome down the Incline which is there local pub. Thank you both very much!

  • Just wow, lovely hosts in a friendly village, great location base for days out. Great value little cottage.

    Rob2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Keri was there to greet us and showed us around the cottage - she was very welcoming and gave us lots of info about the local area and recommended some days out. The cottage is very cosy, just what we wanted and better than we had expected. They had put out some wine and fresh flowers which was a lovely touch. The cottage has everything you need in the compact space - they have thought of everything! We chilled out by the fire and watch a film, had breakfast in bed and the cottage also has a nice patio area with a BBQ which we used one evening. We used the log burner and Keri was quick to offer help with this. We did lots of exploring but also spent time relaxing and chilling out in the cottage. We went to the Incline Inn for dinner one evening (10 mins down the road walking) and they were very friendly and the food was delicious. We also had a carvery on the Wednesday at the rugby club which again was delicious (about 5 min drive). We visited Kidwelly castle - can explore the castle and has lovely views. Burry Port which has a beautiful sandy beach. The botanic gardens which had an incredible bird show and The mumbles in Swansea which is a pretty costal town. Overall we have a lovely stay at the cottage and would love to return. Thank you so much for having us.

  • My partner and I wanted a little child-free break, and we both had a wonderful, relaxing and chilled out time at Little Brook Cottage. The setting was charming, I enjoyed a peaceful cup of tea sitting outside in the morning, listening to the birds and the brook, it was blissful. You couldn't ask for better hosts than Keri and Kev. They are such generous, kind, and warm hearted people, you can tell from the minute you meet them that they really want you to enjoy your stay and will do all to accommodate you. There were some lovely touches on arrival, fresh flowers and a bottle of wine, which really made it all feel very special. We have returned home feeling relaxed and will always remember the visit fondly. Nearby Pembrey Beach was amazing and we also managed a mooch around the lovely shops in Narberth. All in all, a beautiful few days which were enhanced all the more by Keri and Kev's wonderful hospitality.

  • A wonderfully snug little cottage which is perfect for two people in a wonderful location for the coast path. There is a delightful garden for sitting in when the weather permits. The the cottage has all the amenities you would expect and the woodburner is a wonderful bonus and makes it all so cosy. I love the way space has been so cleverly used and it is such a relaxing place that I really did not want to leave!

  • I had spotted this little cottage whilst out on a walk on a previous Gower break and I had kept their business card, pleased to see it was suitable for 1-2 people (I have found in the past that most self-catering accommodation sleeps 4+ and is therefore priced accordingly). It is a lovely little cottage, small in size but cosy, with a warm rustic feel to it, comfortable and well designed, as well as thoroughly equipped. The wood burning stove is very enjoyable in the evenings (a must for me when I select accommodation) and the south facing garden, with table and chairs, is perfect when the sun comes out. The digital radio was a pleasant surprise and so was the extensive library of books and DVDs. The location is superb, with one of the most beautiful stretches of the coastal path just at the bottom of the field. The Middleton bus stop is just a few steps away, making it very easy to reach this cottage on public transport. Rhossili with its stunning beach and the Worm's Head pub, for a pint with breathtaking views, are also easy to reach on foot. A pretty detour on a footpath across the fields makes a pleasant 20 minute walk to the village, off the paved road. Owners Kate and Steve are very welcoming, as is their little dog Djenko. I make regular visits to the Gower, as I love walking in the area, and this little cottage makes a perfect base. Thank you!

This 18th Century Grade 2 Listed renovated Chapel provides a lovely and airy place for a couple to spend some quality time. The Chapel still contains the stain glass windows along with the pews now being utilised as the wooden floor. The open plan kitchen and living room focus on the vast log burner which blends seamlessly into the mezzanine floor containing a double bed and shower room over looking the vast living room space .
The vast floor space and high ceilings lend Y Chapel to spending time round the vast log burner in the winter months. In the summer months the close proximity to the beautiful beaches of the Gower, most reachable within 15 minutes, means you will want to keep returning to explore the area tome and time again.
A lovely rural setting nestled in the heart of the Gower providing quick access to the many beautiful beaches.
