Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Rowan County

Cara & Marcelo’s was wonderful! It was awesome to stay in a place that has been well preserved and maintained. The house is full history and little surprises all through the house of how things were built years ago. We were comfortable the entire time.

Sallie has a wonderful house with direct access to the lake. My son was able to bring his boat and dock it at the included private dock. This was a perfect place to meet up with family and have a great time with our grandkids. We were able to go fishing, swimming (well the kids were in the water), and go to the Zoo (just over an hour away). The extra little cabin was perfect for my wife and I while our son’s family enjoyed the main house. The kids especially loved the loft area. We used the grill (provided) to cook up some hamburgers and even made some homemade ice cream with room enough in the freezer to store the leftovers in the tall dasher/container. Much to my chagrin, I realized after we had left that I had left my credit card behind (lost), but Sallie found it and communicated promptly. Thanks for everything! We all felt safe and well provided for to be able to make a very memorable pleasant visit with our family.

It truly did feel like Grandma's place, so sweet and comfy and LOVED the nostalgia.

First off Carson is an amazing host! We absolutely loved our stay here. My family of 4 felt right at home. The house and kitchen is well stocked with towels, linens, pillows, pots/pans, cups etc. I only brought seasonings and food. The beds are extremely comfortable and so are the pillows. We are an outdoor family so this spot hit all our outdoor needs. Ate outside a lot, the grill, the table, the fire pit and spacious yard was perfect for us! Now the dock and lake. That’s where we spent most of our time. Beautiful long dock with stairs at the end to jump in and cool off. Brought my own life jackets for the kids. The water is nice and clean as well. We also spent hours fishing here and got lucky with some nice catches. The surrounding neighbors are great we made friends with everyone near by and their sweet puppies especially Lucy and Braxton. DoorDash, Instacart and Dominoes delivery out there for days I didn’t want to leave. We enjoyed this stay very very much, we will be back.

The house was exceptionally clean and was as advertised in the pictures. Actually the kitchen was larger than what we expected. The mattress was also very comfortable. The kitchen and bathroom were well stocked. I can't think of one thing that we needed that wasn't already there. Definitely recommend this house and will use it again if we are in the area.

Great place! Location is close to all the activities! Home was extremely clean. Kitchen was equipped with all you needed to cook a full meal! I will be booking this home again when I return to Salisbury!

Easily walk to restaurants and coffee. Only note is that you are located right downtown, so there is traffic and you can hear people talking on the street outside. Not a huge deal, but something to note. Place was very clean and we really enjoyed our stay.

Loved our stay at their place! Location was incredible and right in the heart of downtown Lexington! Beautiful place and Cherie was such an amazing host! We will definitely stay here again if we visit Lexington in the future!

We will stay here again and again! Sharon’s location is perfect for us and is only a short drive to our brother’s home. Surroundings are beautiful and peaceful and the house is well equipped for our needs.. Thank you again Sharon and we hope to see you again!

We had stayed here previously. This time we found it to be just as nice as the first time. The place was clean and comfortable and the fact that the local restaurants & brewery are walkable is fantastic. We will be back next year.

The only reason I am giving 5 stars is because they don’t offer 10. Can’t say enough good about this place. Clean, comfortable, quiet, and everything you might need. I do mean everything. If it’s not there, you probably don’t need it. Debbie is awesome! Made check in a breeze and quick to answer any questions. Great place and greater host.
