Cottage holiday rentals in Rotherfield

we stayed over the bank holiday whilst visiting family. fantastic and cosy cottage which suited us perfectly! the cottage was clean, warm and exactly as described. we will definitely be staying again when we next come to visit family. we accidentally left behind some glasses and Naomi was extremely fast to let us know and offered to post them which we were extremely appreciative off.

We had a lovely week in Plantagenet and really cannot recommend it enough; the cottage really exceeded our expectations. The garden is phenomenal. It was a private and tranquil escape and our collie thoroughly enjoyed doing laps of the large garden despite the rainy weather. We loved it from the moment we arrived and didn't want to leave. The cottage is well equipped, has a great cosy ambiance with lots of indoor and outdoor game options no matter what the weather. The communication with Tim&Maite was friendly and responsive, we particularly appreciated the slightly late check out. We are hoping to book again soon with more of our family joining us.

A lovely modern cottage, exactly as described and photographed. It was well kitted out and essentials were provided. The bed was super comfortable but just a gentle note that if you have any mobility issues the apex of the roof means that you cannot stand up straight around the bed and the bed is low but this was not a problem on our stay. Helena and Philip were both really friendly and helpful. My personal favourite touch was when Philip invited me to pick some roses from the cottage garden to take inside. The hot tub was a real treat but please be mindful that you are in someone’s back garden so not completely secluded if they are enjoying their own space. Highly recommend, we would definitely go back.

What a beautiful cottage! Exactly like on the photos, very charming. Surroundings are stunning, hot tub was a treat. The kitchen is very well equipped with anything you might need. Beds were comfortable and cozy. The conservatory was great to just sit and play board games and have lovely meals, was nice and warm and toastie in there and the views!! Pauline’s communication and response times were excellent, very friendly and accommodating. All I would suggest, if possible is perhaps to think of some sort of covers/shelter from the cold/wind by the hot tub. It was very windy and we still wanted to enjoy the hot tub, but it got very cold whilst inside. Some sort of coverings will work a treat. Pauline suggested some great pubs and things to do in the area. All and all my friends and I had a lovely stay. Thanks Pauline!

wow what a find, the main attraction for us was the peaceful setting, the open views from the decking area was beautiful, I'm the worst person for relaxing, believe me I relaxed, the swimming pool and hot tub was gorgeous, definitely going to go back, great hosts, great accommodation, beautiful location. Another fantastic stay at the Piggery! Clare was once again super helpful and responsive. It really is a fantastic Air BnB, with lots of great options for things to do nearby - book it while you can!

Chris's cottage was a truly wonderful find, and we'd love to come back! It was thoughtfully equipped with literally everything you could imagine needing for a comfortable stay. The fantastic amenities like the pool and gym provided perfect entertainment, especially on those inevitable rainy days. Plus, the location was absolutely ideal for exploring local hiking trails. We found the cottage to be impeccably clean, peaceful, beautifully maintained, and wonderfully quiet. If I had to offer a couple of minor points for improvement, blackout blinds in both bedrooms would be a fantastic addition, as it got quite bright from 4 am. Additionally, it might be helpful to clearly state in the listing that baby swim classes are held in the pool three times a week. While this didn't bother us at all (we have a baby too!), it was unexpected, and some guests might appreciate knowing in advance.

We had the most beautiful weekend at Sage Cottage. Everything—literally everything—was lovely, from the complimentary chocolates to the treehouse. You could truly see and feel the love that went into it all. Alison gave us a warm welcome, which made us feel comfortable from the moment we arrived. Nothing was too much trouble for her, and her pets were absolutely adorable. I could go on and on, but you really have to experience this wonderful stay to understand what I mean.

Such a tranquil, beautiful setting with views of the rolling countryside and woodland walks on the doorstep. Inside, Little House is akin to a boutique hotel with a standalone roll-top bath and lots of thoughtful touches such as flowers from the garden and local apple juice. I stayed at Little House as part of recovery from a major surgery and couldn’t have asked for anywhere more perfect!

It is the 4 th time I have stayed at this lovely cottage…which speaks for itself really ! What I love a love this place .. Spotlessly clean Really homely Amazing soft towels ….mine are never like that at home !!! Very generous welcome pack which is so appreciated. We loved our stay here! One of the nicest Airbnbs we’ve visited. Anya was super helpful and included lots of tiny details that made the stay extra smooth, particularly as we were visiting with our 5 month old. Thanks for having us and we’d love to come stay again.

Great accommodation and Alex was lovely and genuine. A gem of a place especially with its own dog field for all you doggie people travelling over to Europe - walked our 3 doggies on the field before setting off to Eurotunnel. Cottage lovely and everything you need - definitely recommend 💯% 👌🏻 Loads of takeaway places 10 mins drive away and petrol station just over the road but not noisy as cottage well insulated noise wise. 😊 We’d definitely be staying again on our next roadtrip to Europe 😊 Great value 💵 wise aswell 👌🏻

Tina was super friendly, kind and helpful. We felt it was home away from home and enjoyed preparing some delicious food in the nice kitchen We loved walking our dog in the common where there were deer, squirrels and beautiful bird life. We were even lucky to try the Neighbour’s free range fresh eggs from their rescued chickens who have a second chance at life. Badger’s Rest’s beds are very comfortable and it is very peaceful for sleeping. That was our experience. The coffee machine was appreciated also the washing machine. We were at our last stage of our 6 month holiday of England and this was a soft place to land & to catch up on business and prepare ourselves for going home to Australia 🇦🇺 Thank you Tina for your care. We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Mr Catt’s house! The house is beautifully decorated, spacious, and has everything you could need. There was also very easy parking and check in. Ruth was a really friendly and responsive host who was very helpful. I am really glad we chose this property and would love to come again!

Nettle Fields exceeded our (already high) expectations. The barn design, is very cool. Windows and magnificent glass doors in every room allow the beauty of the outside to blend with the clean lines and calmness inside. It’s an incredible space which felt both tranquil and homely. The interior was immaculate, stylish, creative and high quality throughout. Our hosts, Michael and Toby were excellent and attentive. They were available promptly and were so kind and considerate. This is the best place we’ve stayed in and I cannot recommend it enough. I would give 6 stars if available.

So lovely was The Piggery we didn’t want to leave! In a beautiful rural setting this cute cottage had everything we needed for a week’s holiday exploring East Sussex, we were so comfortable and our little dog loved the garden.

Very clean and tidy house, well organised with lots of information and suggestions from the owner. Beautiful windows on every side of the house overlooking the garden and the nature around. We would definitely come back. P.S. Loved Lynda’s lemon cake! :)

A beautiful home with all the little extras to make our stay comfortable. We felt extremely at home. Joan left us some great places to visit and things to do.

An easily accessible countryside location. Very hospitable hosts - Ben is charming and very helpful. The accommodation has all the amenities needed for self-contained lifestyle living. Wonderful dawn chorus each morning. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would happily stay again when I’m next in the area.

We had a fabulous stay at Naomi's cottage. It was very peaceful, spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for a few nights away. The bed was super comfortable and the shower was very powerful. The village is very pretty, some excellent walks from the door and a good pub just a few minutes walk away. Highly recommend - we hope to come back!
