Ellen was fantastic to deal with, very accommodating, Betty's house was very welcoming, beds were very soft and comfy. big dinning room table and living room to fit 6+ guests, well stocked kitchen, recently remodeled in very good shape! outside was beautiful and welcoming, covered patio to enjoy in the dry and shade. had some beetles in the rooms, but elen was quick to come resolve this and we thank her greatly. only thing I would say to someone else coming here is this, there isnt three bedrooms, there is two bedrooms and an open loft. good for kids, but not so much for 3 married couples. all in all, it was a wonderful stay from a wonderful host and we loved it. thanks!

Private Hippie Haven made our trip super enjoyable and relaxing. It has a great value for the number of people it can sleep, plenty of dishes and and cooking items in the kitchen in case you forgot your own, and enough space for everyone to have some leg room. It’s spotless and smells great but still feels cozy and lived in. I didn’t personally communicate with Joseph—his instructions were so friendly and helpful that I didn’t have to. I would highly recommend this place to anyone staying in the area looking for a fun and relaxing stay :)

The Faulkner Homestead a great place for a getaway

Very beautiful lot - wide open fields and nice view. House had a lots of good amenities (cable, wifi, washer and dryer, although no dishwasher) and was good for a weekend trip with a mid sized group including a few small kids. The house itself is older and a bit wonky in places (e. g., no doors separating three bedrooms upstairs), but it was clean and comfortable. Hosts were friendly and responded quickly. Only a short drive to Johnson's shut ins (20 min) and Elephant Rocks 40 min). Would stay again!

We absolutely loved the place. The view is amazing. It is less than 5 minutes from private, local access to the Black River. The mushroom hunting was awesome! The owner is super nice and helpful. He was extremely reaponsive. He was flexible at check in and told us we didnt have to rush at check out and to take our time because there was no one checking in after us. That was refreshing and very pleasent. Definitely one of the nicest hosts we have ever stayed with. Our only complaint is that the price is a little steep for Missouri, but overall we very much enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again.

It was a great little cabin for our weeks stay during deer season. It was nice to be able to cook some food and have a hot shower every evening. The cabin was well stocked and comfortable. It would also be a great place for a family to stay when visiting the lake.
