Updating your profile with information you choose to share, such as your interests or hometown, is a way to connect to and build trust with hosts you might want to book with or guests who are interested in making a reservation with you.

Beyond showing your identity verification status, your profile can offer more details about you with hosts and guests, such as:
You can choose to share your profile with other guests on experiences, which will also allow those guests to request to message you directly. This is a choice you can make with every experience that you book or join.
To change this setting, you can view the guest list and adjust your profile settings from your trip details. Open your experience reservation and scroll to Who’s going and make changes within Profile Settings. You can also change this setting from within your Profile.
Your profile photo will be shown across Airbnb – for example, it’s on your listing if you’re a host, it will be shared with hosts after a booking is accepted as a guest. It also appears in message threads on Airbnb and will be shared with other guests when you join a reservation and on reviews you leave as a host or guest.
Guest profile photos aren’t displayed until after a reservation is confirmed.
All hosts are required to have a profile photo, and some hosts require a photo of their guests to make a reservation.
